The sound was so freaking absurd at last review, and again, the decibels were at 81, this time, s we walked out a couple of different movies. When asking if it could be adjusted, the girl at the front replied, "yeah, that's the way it is." This time, we asked a server, Hannah, if this was possible, and "they" actually turned it down, and no one in the theatre with us seemed to notice or care. Big time impressed with whomever has come in board at Lake Highlands. The food offerings remain a bit lack luster, Sony, the new company owner, is not spending funds on the theatre seats. The seat covering is like super sheer cheap pantyhose, with exposed foam, but the servers in the theatres are courteous, professional and attentive. Hannah at Lake Highlands and the manager are excellent. so happy as this theatre is needed in east Dallas. Thanks!

This theater is tucked away behind a large bank building, and can be very hard to see. It is by far…read morethe smallest theater I have ever seen...but don't let the size fool you. Inside are two screens, both quite sizeable, with ample seating. From what I understand, this theater is not open year-round. It opens during summer blockbuster season, and when highly anticipated movies come about. I suppose that's why when we showed up, the guy thought we were there to see the new Mission Impossible movie. We were actually there to see The Muppets. When we got there, I was feeling a mixture of both excitement, and nerves. I looked around, and it looked like the Movie Theater That Time Forgot. The concession stand was dimly lit and looked like it hadn't been used in ages. There were movie posters rolled up in a corner, the marquees still used removable letters...it was OLD SCHOOL. The theater is owned/operated by an Indian man, who was the only person running everything. He was the concession stand clerk, box office clerk, and projectionist. Tickets are the cheapest anywhere for new flicks. $5 for adults, $3 for kids, all the time. The movie-watching experience was pretty nice...although about 2/3 of the way through the movie, the sound had some hiccups, which the man explained was due to the way he had everything set up. He apologized for that, and we didn't really mind, since he was so incredibly nice to us. He also REALLY loves and is proud of his surround sound, which he gave us a demo of (we watched a 20 minute segment from XXX, and the explosions, car crashes, ect. sounded really great), and he was really anxious to show it to us the entire night. I have to give him credit...he may not be running a sparkling, shiny new theater, but I liked his enthusiasm for what he did have to offer, and sometimes, that's all you really need. We will most definitely be back for an action flick to make use of his sound system.

This place is huge with other fun things you can do there like an arcade/bar/bowling. I haven't had a chance to do those but maybe someday... I searched for them in the darkness but alas...there were none. My fries were lukewarm at best, still crunchy and salty, but usually they're piping hot and fresh. When I tried to order dessert, the server came to my seat and told me all you had were the churros, so I cancelled my order because I just was not feeling that. I figured it was due to the fact that they had a private party, which I suspected from the beginning as the parking was packed, which for a Tuesday night, I was surprised to see since I usually have my days off during the week and have never seen this. All in all, I prefer this theater over other major chains like Cinemark or Regal just because they have always been consistent, I feel like they have a very diverse menu, and the place is always clean with comfy recliner seats. Oscar did reach out to me when I sent in my concerns over my last experience when they asked for a review, he said he wants to make sure my next visit is an enjoyable one, which I appreciated. One bad food experience isn't going to deter me from coming back as I said, this is not the norm. Mortal Kombat 2 is out and I will be watching that with my boyfriend and hopefully this time we get to experience those cute couches and the food service that I know and love. I still recommend this theater to my friends and I will be back.

You access the menu via QR code with your phone. Very easy to order. A bit of a mystery on how to get a soda refill or how to get just a cup of tapwater with ice. It did not take long at all for our order, but I will say there were only a few of us in the theater for this particular show. We tried their fried chicken sandwich, cheese pizza, and bottomless soda. The fried chicken sandwich was great. Perfectly cooked, tender and juicy. The toppings for the chicken chicken sandwich sounded a little strange, but they worked really well together and had a delicious flavor. The pizza was really not to our liking at all. It was thicker crust and my wife did not care for the flavor really. We never did figure out how to get a diet Coke refill.

However, I was here for a more somber score. I was here with a few hundred to learn of the latest trends in Storm Spotting and weather RADAR analysis put on by local amateur radio clubs, the City of Garland and the Ft Worth Office of the National Weather Service. Some in my group would argue that severe weather systems are works of art as in their violence can be awe inspiring sights which are sometimes captured by camera. Of course there are also many photos of destruction after really bad storms. The center has clean restrooms, space for vendors to set up tables in the lobby and room for food trucks outside. The seating is very comfortable and was able to keep me happy for the full day of information presented to help keep our communities and us spotters safe.

He said if we had arrived a few minutes earlier he would have let us - by this point it was about 8:07 pm. When we told him our situation he said that he was on the Board of Trustees and couldn't do anything about it. He was clearly on a power trip and told us that the show was supposedly sold out even though there weren't many cars in the parking lot. I've been to many shows in different venues both nationally and internationally and even on Broadway they don't do this kind of bs. I'm very disappointed by this kind of treatment as it drives away community support.
