Funky's staff are prepared for anything, they're professional and really nice. We really appreciate the service they all give us, and our family and friends when we visit. Shame on the ones with insulting posts, too bad you haven't taken the time to actually meet and get to know the Funkys crew. THEY'RE WONDERFUL, and their food is On Point! I recommend enjoying a nice lunch or dinner any day. Especially with the nice weather, open windows and outside seating.

This was my second time coming to Funky and overall I think it's a pretty good place. St. Patty's was super fun with the live music and ambiance. The bartenders are always awesome but the security guards and other people working there are kind of rude which I've experienced both times I went. We didn't get any food but our drinks were awesome and we had fun. If you're looking for a fun place to start the night or just grab a few :)

Visited Funky Murphy's from the recommendation of a few locals for a quick spot to grab a meal and a few beers. It's located right off Shrewsberry Street and seems to be sort of a Worcester cult classic. I was really impressed with the menu, especially the daily specials. I was there on Tuesday and went for the prime rib special, which was cooked exactly to my liking, and very reasonably priced. There's a nice bar area with plenty of TVs to catch a game. Sometimes I've been there and they have a large projector screen up with the Red Sox or Bruins on. They have large retractable windows that open when the weather is nice, creating an outdoor feel to the dining experience. My one knock on the selfish man is there a draft beer selection. They have lots of macro beers, but not many local craft options. However, with that said they were still plenty of options. Overall, I would recommend this place, particularly for their daily specials if you want a quick meal, a few drinks, and a good location to catch a game.

Food: the food is your typical American style appetizers, which is really good when you're drunk or high. But it's like nothing over the top. Otherwise it's average , okay portions sides. Service: the service was great. We had two people making sure that we had everything including water and drinks/food. Shout out to the server man that took our pictures as well! Ambiance: it definitely feels like your typical college bar after a certain time, but it varies on crowds depending on the day. usually after 11 that's what it gets more like a night out where people are just having a good time and drinking, Which the drinks are pretty inexpensive. I'm a bit biased as this is not my go to place to go out but most of my friends like going there and it's definitely a place for a younger crowd/for the boys. There are definitely times where the crowd can be a bit too rowdy or the security is not very nice at times, but I personally never had a bad experience. Location accommodation: they have sidestreet parking as well as a open patio windows to get some fresh air and they have a background in case you don't really want to be at the front surrounded by too many people.

    Primer rib special!

Had the prime rib special! Perfect and so large I brought some home! Service was ok but definitely took much too long to get the check. Restaurant was very cold! Bring a sweater!

Food was hot to order. Fresh and good. I will definitely go back and visit. The service was slow. Waitress was over worked. The ambience was nightlife chill.

We asked the manager for some napkins to prop up the wobbly table and he said (quote) "Why don't you tell your kid not to stand on his chair" and walked away. The kid in question was literally sitting in his chair with one foot against the table. We explained to the manager the impact of what he said, and gave him multiple opportunities to apologize. We get it: its St Patrick's Day in an Irish bar and it's stressful. But instead of recognizing that he snapped: he doubled down and tried to convince us that his language fine, and that we were in the wrong for calling him out. I even talked with him an hour later, after it had cooled off, and he continued to be aggressive and dismissive. A bad manager is one thing. But our server didn't acknowledge the awkwardness (even as other families watched in shock), just trying to rush us out. The food was probably the worst it's ever been at Stone's, which raises questions of why. It's understandable to have a bad day, it's *not* ok to set the tone for your staff and establishment that berating your customers, unprompted, is acceptable.

This is where the locals go and it feels like the Worcester version of Cheers. There are always people of all ages here. It's relaxed, not too loud. Tonight there was a great 90s music playlist on. There are bar seats, booths, high tops. Plenty of TVs if you want to watch sports. I have never had issues with staff or service. My waitress tonight smiled plenty and the food came out quickly even though the restaurant was full. She did everything right, was attentive and polite. My son ordered the NY Strip steak. The thing was huge and would have likely cost $40 elsewhere. Here? $18. I got the lettuce wraps which are technically an appetizer but the portion is big enough for a meal. The menu is extensive, has something for everyone, and there are always specials. Great place for a casual family meal, I'll keep coming back.

We got seated right away, but it was busy for the time (mid afternoon). Our server was very friendly and the food came out quickly. The French onion soup hit the spot and was some of the best I've ever had. Rich beef broth, tender onions, nice and hot, and of course perfectly melted cheese. We shared a patty melt with onion rings. The patty melt was overdone - we ordered medium but it was beyond well done. Still flavorful but would have preferred it as ordered. They had a large patio which must be nice in the summer. A lot of the photos showed it being in a shopping mall, but those must be old, because it is a standalone restaurant. We will definitely go back when in the area, especially when we want French onion soup!

The burgers certainly didn't seem fresh. We had the appetizer pretzel that was $12 and came out on the big "show-stopping" hook. The bottom was almost burnt, it had no salt on it and absolutely ZERO flavor. The mustard and cheese sauce that they gave you to dip it in was tasteless. I'm pretty sure the cheese sauce was from a can and the mustard was just plain yellow mustard. Gross. The only redeeming thing about the meal was my chili..I'd say that was very good. Everything else was subpar. Service was friendly, but we didn't really require a lot. It was over $100 for four of us to have a light lunch and only one person had an alcoholic beverage. So it's pretty expensive for midgrade pub food. The atmosphere has a cozy vibe and I'm sure when their patio is open, people will enjoy that. But I certainly won't be back anytime soon.
