    Garlic Bread with Cheese

Finally has a chance to check out Fuoco while we were in the area. We went on a Saturday around 4:30ish. Were able to snag a seat, which we timed right as when we sat down it stated getting busy. No one comes to your table rather you go up to the counter and order and they bring it out to you. We started with garlic bread with cheese which was huge and delicious. My partner got his normal cheese pizza and I opted for bread chicken and roasted red peppers. Both of us very happy with our pizza. Great ingredients good chat. Only thing was sauce a little sweet but not a deal breaker. Can't wait to come back.

Fuoco Apizza definitely lets its pizza do the talking! We started with the Caprese salad which was very fairly portioned for two people and abundant with toppings. The Bernardi pie was excellent - a great ratio of meatballs, ricotta, and sauce!! We actually liked how there was not mozzarella on this pie as we were better able to focus on the ricotta flavor. An overall unique dining experience by ordering at the counter as well as BYOB for all beverages as the only offerings are Foxon Park sodas and bottle water... We were told they do not serve tap water! We felt lucky to have gotten a table on a weeknight as there are only seven tables inside. They do appear to have some tables outside for warmer weather! Also the take out service seemed very busy!

On a Sunday afternoon trying to avoid the Jets continue to ruin my life, I was inspired to head from Watertown for pizza. Originally, I was heading to Pepe's in Waterbury, but decided to go two more exits to give Fucco's a shot after hearing so much about it from the famous experts. It was really good. Completely NOT a substitute for Sally's, Little Rendezvous, Pepe's or the other pillars of coal-fired pizza in the area - but it's on par with the best of the Torrington-area pizza spots making some noise north of New Haven. I ordered the Wooster. I loved their sauce. The garlic and tomatoes were perfect. Of all the aforementioned places around, these tomatoes are the most flavorful. The crust was good. Edges had a nice char. Closer to the middle was floppy. But that's the pice you pay for the good and rich tomato sauce. All in all, tasted delicious. I'd be thrilled if it was my local pizza joint - but it's not in the same air as the big guys. I also ordered a house salad which was fantastic. Borderline amazing for the venue. I went off the Italian script and got their chipotle dressing. Really fresh. Excellent. Regarding service, I have to be honest and I don't like the order at the counter and just have food runners business model. It detracted from my experience at Marzano in Torrington and here at Fucco's, too. Brings up so many other questions regarding tip and more drinks, etc. Don't love it. But I get it. Hard/impossible to find staff. With the service model and size of the tiny dining room - I'd file Fucco's as essentially take out only. If I'm in town, I'll be back. But if I'm headed that direction, there's no way I'm passing Pepe's or traveling only another 15 min to Little Rendezvous.

It seems a lot bigger then it is. Parking is a fair size in the back, but takes forever to get out thanks to the lights. There is warm weather seating outside, and about fiv me tables or so inside. The pizza was good for pizza, but honestly not outstanding. IMHO, their clams could have used a sauce. It has a nice crisp, and the crust was thin. The cashier would bring your order to the table. Water is bottle, soda is Kool and apparently you can BYOB (at least according to the couple next to is!).

Pulled into Fuoco Apizza at around 12:15 PM on a Friday afternoon. Easy parking in the back of the restaurant. Rear entrance to the restaurant with no steps so handicapped accessible is really good. When I think Fuoco, I'm thinking rock 'n' roll heavy metal hard hitting in your face pizza. What I got was a bougie young lady sending out the vibe that we are lucky to be there. Glanced at the menu, and ordered a large pizza with sausage. Also ordered two of the East Haven drinks which where I think 32 ounces each. Now here's where it gets hoity-toity and disrespectful, keep in mind, this is Cheshire, and not in a high crime area so... We pre-pay for the frekin pizza and include a tip. My thoughts kick in.... So we're gonna sit down and eat this pizza but beforehand, predict what kind of tip for service we're gonna leave. And I'm looking at this bougie girl showing no respect to me, and I'm wondering no tip, 5%, 10%, or whatever....but I went with 20%. After about a 15 minute wait the pizza arrives. The sausage was lightly spread on the pizza, almost like they're weighing out a quarter of a pound. I was not used to seeing this little sausage on a pizza. And my opinion, much more sausage was needed on the pizza. The pizza sauce was unflavored, and needed spices and salt. It was almost like it was out of a plain tomato sauce can. The cheese was on point, with a nice taste and perfectly spread with a generous amount. The crust had a New Haven vibe, burnt around the edges crispy, a little bit burnt on the bottom, and definitely New Haven style. There was a serious flop to the pie though. The first bite proved this pizza needed something. I asked for the Parmesan cheese and salt. I also added the crushed hot pepper flakes. This jazzed it up a little bit. This was not the best pizza or even close to the best pizza I've had. So driving one hour to taste this arguably in your face pizza, became a disappointment The restrooms were clean. The tables are clean, and the inside decoration to me is overrated. I don't like the half booth with chairs on the other side of the table. So as I sit here writing this review, I am between a three and a four. I wanna say this place is overrated, but I'll probably catch flack for it. So I'm gonna give it three stars Fuoco, If you're gonna act online like the pizza is in your face, hard hittin, and heavy metal, maybe change the vibe from what is actually experienced from your guests! What you are... you are bougie, with staff treating us like we should be thankful we're in there. Your pizza is overrated I'm sorry to say this is a one and done for me. Roseland, Zuppardi's , and Christo's are a lot better choice. In my opinion, this is not a top 5, nor top 10 in Connecticut for pizza. Top 20 maybe

Coal fired oven, thin crust pizza. If you like thin crust pizza like I do, you'll love Fuoco Apizza too. We went here after reading good things about it. I'm glad we did. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our pizza was ordered and delivered to our table in about 15 minutes. It was bigger than we expected. The toppings were loaded all over the chewy thin crust pizza with the perfect char on the crust. The store is bright enough and clean. I knew we were in for a treat when as I was holding the door for exiting patrons they volunteered that the pizza was very good. My excitement was justified. We will be back.

Some of the best pizza in CT, no doubt about it. I've been a few times now and it hasn't disappointed at all. Small area for inside dining, small patio outside as well. You won't go wrong with whatever you order! Great char, stable slices, and toppings on point. Love it!

    5.15.25 Decent prices

5.13.25 Another outstanding win with a pizza place. Their pizzas have been nothing short of amazing. Delicious and spot on every time. Started coming here very recently and have become a regular in a short amount of time. They have your pizza ready in no time. We didn't have to wait long at all. Perfectly cooked to perfection. This is my 2nd of the three kings of pizza as they call themselves. And they're pretty close to that make with their pizza making skills. They have just the right amount of char on their pizzas. There's a decent size parking lot behind their building. A long narrow hallway you enter through the back door which opens up to their dining and the pickup counter. The restaurant itself is simply decorated and is always been very clean when I've been here lately. The service is nice and attentive.

    Spinach and ricotta

Finally tried Fuoco's! I called in 3 small pizzas to go: soppressata, spinach and ricotta, and garlicky shrimp. I asked the lady that we needed 40 minutes for pick-up, and it was ready when we got to the restaurant. We enjoyed all of the pies. But I think the crowd favorite was the garlicky shrimp. I'm not usually a big fan of seafood on my pizza, but wow, this really surprised me. The soppressata was really good with added onions. Next time, I'm trying the moneyhots for some spicy treat! The pizza was super thin, with a perfect char, and no flop. I can't wait to go back!

I got my hair done and by the time I was done it was lunchtime and I was hungry. Hubby came to pick me up and Fuoco was on the same street so we decided let's go get pizza. It was a good choice because the pizza was delish. Definitely will return and recommend to others!

Omgg!! My coworker and I were in Connecticut for work and our other coworker recommended us this gem. Such a great pizza spot in Cheshire, CT! It's walk in and order over the counter type of service. Kind of small shop, but they did have tables inside and outside if you wanted to eat there. The customer service was friendly and quick. I got the gluten free cauliflower crust pizza and my coworker got the regular crust one and both were amazing!!!

I got the sausage and pepperoni pizza. It was very good. I'm here for the weekend from florida and there's nothing like up north pizza. The flavor was spot on, I love the thin crust. And love when the pepperonis that cup, it just makes the taste better. Family owned restaurants like this are always the best. The cheesesteak eggs rolls were okay. My friend had the chicken parm sandwich and said it was good. There's parking foxon park soda is made in Connecticut, which is so cool to me. The birch flavor was very good. There's parking out back that is free which is amazing. The bathroom was clean as well.

If you like New Haven style pizza, which is arguably the 'esemplare' of all pizza, then visiting The Little Rendezvous is a MUST visit if you live within 90-min. Plan a trip to visit some store you want to go to, a beach visit or whatever, just find a way to circle The Little Rendezvous into the trip! The crust is thin with a crackery-crunch, the sauce is at a another level and the mozz and roni are high-quality deliciousness! Rendezvous stands tall with any of the well known top-3 pizza joints in New Haven. Dave's score of 9.1 (if you are unaware of the reference, then pizza isn't your thing) is right on point, and I'd go as far as scoring it slightly higher at a 9.2 based on my visit. The building is something out of folklore. The building is all of about 20ft. wide, and when you enter, it is immediate, Steve (owner/chef) is all about the pizza. To be clear, most will consider Rendezvous to be take-out only. There is zero decor, less signs made with cardboard and sharpie notifying you that wait times of hours are real..... so be sure to call ahead. You walk past the most basic seating area of 3-4 small tables with bare walls, and then proceed to walk down an oddly long and narrow sloping hallway which leads you to the service counter/kitchen which houses the 130-year old oven! It's honestly something you could only imagine out of a movie...... the hole in the wall that is creating high-quality, delicious pizzas! Why or how you ask? The answer is simple, Steve! The guy clearly has a passion for making pizza and has dedicated his life to doing so. I met the 'man-the myth-the legend' on my visit, and he kindly even took the time to chat with me. The latter worked as the head chef for Krust Pizza & Bourbon Bar in Middletown. The venture initially started out as a pizza pop-up that would appear at various Connecticut breweries and festivals. The partners quickly gained a following with their delicious pies. One of the breweries that Ritual frequently crafted pizzas at was Labyrinth Brewing Company in Manchester. In November 2023, Ritual opened a brick & mortar location inside of Labyrinth complete with a new Pizza Master oven. Everything was going well for the pizzeria until a gigantic ball was dropped in July 2024 when Labyrinth announced that they would be closing their doors by the end of the month. For the rest of the year, Ritual went back to operating as a pop-up venture. In February 2025, Ritual opened their new brick & mortar location inside Counter Weight Brewing Company in Cheshire. In addition to their delicious pizza pies, the menu also consists of smash burgers, hot dogs, fries, and various small plates. My family and I tried out food from Ritual Pizza Co this past summer while we were at Labyrinth Brewing. We had stopped in for lunch after visiting a fire museum nearby. I had visited Labyrinth a few times before, but this was my first visit since Ritual set up their pizza kitchen there. I had been following them on social media for a while and I had been anxious to try their pizza. We decided to order and share the "Pepperoni" (shredded mozz, oregano, pepperoni) and the "Street Korn Pie" (shredded mozz, braised chicken, chunky bacon, ranch drizzle). We also ordered a side of "Mac N' Cheese" (mac n' cheese topped with toasted ritz crackers) for our younger son who prefers pasta to pizza. The pepperoni pie had some great sauce, crust and flavor. We mainly ordered it for our older son; pepperoni is his favorite. The one that really impressed my wife and I was the Street Korn Pie. It was an excellent fusion of Mexican and Italian cuisines; so much flavor! Just 10 days after our visit, Labyrinth announced that they would be closing their doors. Ritual soon released a statement announcing that they had every intention of reopening at a new location. I was so happy to hear that they have now reopened at Counter Weight and I look forward to eating their delicious pizza again!
