They don't seem to care enough that the product they sell is rotten to speak to their suppliers on behalf of customers or take strict action to stop selling spoiled products. I bought Shastha Dosa Batter with an expiry date of March 26, 2026. While preparing lunch for my family on a Saturday afternoon, I opened the pack and found it completely rotten. This is now the third time this has happened. The previous two times, I didn't bother driving 15 minutes each way because spending 30 minutes away from my family during mealtime for an $8 refund or exchange simply wasn't worth it. This time, however, I took a stand and drove back to the store, taking time away from my family and lunch. They thankfully replaced the product, which I appreciate -- but they didn't seem concerned enough to take a stronger stand with the supplier, Shastha Foods. It will likely make a difference only when it starts to pinch them -- for example, if they consistently have to compensate customers beyond the price of the product for wasted time, inconvenience, and disruption to family time. When that happens, they may finally take stronger action on behalf of their customers. I've been a long-time customer of both the store and Shastha, but I'm seriously reconsidering giving them my business if they don't show more accountability toward the customers who support them. read more

Ran up the road for a bag of brown rice. This convenient market had a small selection but what I needed. The cashier came from the back with a fresh tray of Veg Samosas; I had to try one (for $1.00, how could you not). The samosa blew my mind. Flaky crust and that spice! By the name, I had no idea what it was. Indian Market, aha! We have so many within 5 miles, but I went to see what was going on. First, it's triple the size that the storefront looks from the outside. It has aisle of fresh produce, and aisles and aisles of Indian packaged goods, cooking supplies, and beauty produces. They have a small frozen section of items, a small cooler of dairy, and a few packaged meats. What I didn't like is that a lot of things are not priced, or if there was a sign, it was 12-24" inches away from the item. It's good in a pinch, but I like Vijetha/Swagruha Indian Supermarket (San Ramon) and Big Bazaar (Blackhawk) much much better. read more

I have been shopping at this specialty Indian grocery store for many years. It's conveniently located in a small strip mall, Canyon Lakes Centre located within walking distance of the surrounding neighborhoods. It used to be called Patel Market (the owner's name) in a single retail space but eventually they expanded to the adjacent space. It is now called Fusion Cash and Carry. It's a small store with narrow aisles, but they have just about everything you need. The quality of the produce is quite high. Everything I've always needed was fresh. I particularly like their cilantro, mint, Persian cucumbers, variety of peppers and chilies, potatoes, onions and tomatoes. Occasionally they have fresh ginger directly from Hawaii. They have a very large assortment of spices. You can get small or large packages of your favorites like paprika, chili powder, cumin, coriander, clove, cinnamon, cardamom and turmeric. Their produce prices are a little more than Sprouts, Walmart or Smart & Final, but I the quality is near what you can get at the weekend Farmers Market in San Ramon or the local Safeway. If you have a chance, try their fresh Potato Samosa's. They are a $1 each, but large in size. read more

Decided to stop by after my dental visit, and found a lot of dry goods and refrigerated products that you would not be able to find in most other stores. Looking at the address and some old signage, this was the market in the original yelp review, so maybe it's only been a recent change? Horrible Horrible Place - Stay away I have been a regular customer here for a long time now, probably one of the few customers who started coming here when it first opened. But I will never go back here now... the standards of the supplies are at the lowest level possible. Produce will be rotting away and still be on the shelf to buy, the stockers are so rude that they would just dump the new produce box on top of rotten one right in front of you. Most of the product on shelf is about to expire or already expired. The frozen items are just left out of freezer on the floor for the stockers to come back from there "Talking" break and then keep them back in. I mean, yes by all means go take your break but then don't open a frozen item box and leave it on the floor. From the looks of it, I don't know when was the last time that store was even cleaned! The rudeness of cashiers is at some other level. Someone should have them take a basic course of customer service before having them interact with customers. Oh and not to mention, the prices keep changing and increasing every other week. I have been a long time customer of this place but the rudeness that was shown to me today shocked me and of course will make me never ever go back to this place. They just lost a customer today. I bought a cookware item from them yesterday but changed my mind and went back to return it with the stickers intact and receipt in hand. The lady at the counter - I know she is the owner's wife - almost barked at me and told me that they don't accept returns on cookware. Finally, a little market in this shopping center worth going to. I don't know if these people bought out the previous, poorly run, market or if they are completely new. What I can tell you is that this Indian market is clean and well organized. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they have a nice selection of staples and specialty items. The market is primarily an Indian market with the various food stuffs, spices, chutneys, dairy products, and other items that you expect. They even have a small selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. I've been here several times and am trying some of the things that they offer. And the prices seem pretty reasonable to me. Got sashta dosa batter from these guys in the evening ( receipt attached ) opened it right now saw a small puncture on the seal got a bit suspicious & found that the some portion of the original batter has been removed & water has been added. The batter is all frothy & completely liquid. Usually the price at most stores is 7.99 but over here it's 8:49 that's fine If they were not cheaters. People Should know about the ANIT-MUSLIM rhetoric that I faced at this establishment. An older gentleman who works there. He caught me off gaurd when I was checking out. He asked me if I was from India or Pakistan. I thought he was just being curious, so I told him of my Indian heritage, that both my parents were raised there and studied there. Then later on migrated to Pakistan. He went talking about Islam and putting it down, telling me things that were NEWS to me about my own religion!! He made me feel cornered and insulted. I told him that his interpretations were false in a nice manner and thanked him for helping me with my groceries. I also told him not to fall for the political angst but he said "This is NOT political " I will pray for him, that he sees Muslims as they are and not as what some groups promotes. The owner saw me looking very lost near the rice. He was honest that he didn't know the true difference between brands, and we shared a laugh over the fact that his mom prepared the rice he was raised on and never questioned about it. This store has the widest variety of spices, grains, and beans I don't have to venture all the way to a Dublin anymore. They have the Persian spices I need once in awhile along w some basic produce. I bought rava laddu recently. Soon after I came home and tried to eat they are spoiled and smelled bad. I brought this up with the store owner and he said he is not responsible of the expired ones and the KAVYA food personnel come and clean up the expired food. He was not even sorry this happened and did not even offer a refund. There is no guilt in his eyes. If I were in his place I would feel guilty and shameful. I don't understand how they can do business like this. Also another time I saw an expired paneer and brought to the attention to a lady in the cashier. She said sorry and I saw her walking back to the refrigerator and putting it back there again. I was surprised by her action. The place does not have any price tags on fresh produce. One never knows how much you will pay at the end of your shopping. I had called in advance to find out if they carry a certain product and they said yes. I drove 20 miles to the store only to find out that they did not carry that product. I questioned the person and he was not even apologetic. I walked out buying nothing. Don't waste your money on a place who have zero concept of customer satisfaction. My husband went to pick up a few groceries a week ago and on accident he dropped a jar and it broke on the floor. He apologized But the lady that was working there was very irritated that that happened and suggested he should've had a handbasket or a cart he apologized again and offered to pay for the broken jar and she said it's not about the money But she didn't have the staff to clean up the little mess. They sell & charge $2 for "pirated" bollywood DVDs Recently I heard that display price is different than billed price. Also some people complained about charging credit card fees. Very cheap. I took the item to the counter. The owner himself rang it and said that it was $1.65. Then said to the lady who was also on the counter that it should have rung $1.99. The owner then said to me it is $1.99, not $1.65. I said laughing, oh it's just 30 cents. Can't you give me the discount and charge price you said earlier. They paid no attention to me and charged $1.99. I felt very angry, not for the 30 cents that I paid more but because they have no customer skills. They did not show any considerations. If you are looking for "authentic" Indian cuisine and groceries look no further! The staff is very helpfull and polite. I went in looking for some imported Basmati rice and nan (Indian bread) to make a homemade Indian dinner. I found great basmati rice (cheaper than Safeway) and much higher quality. Having been to India myself, their products are top caliber and fairly priced. I suggest the frozen nan and the India Gate brand basmati rice. If you ask, they have fully prepared food for sale in the back room, so you can pick up pre-made pakoras and such which is a treat. Excellent store for Indian items. read more

Yesterday evening, after having waited in line for what seemed forever, while the cashier leisurely served the customer before me, I asked the lady to see if anyone could serve me.
