    Happy Shopping

I have been shopping at this specialty Indian grocery store for many years. It's conveniently located in a small strip mall, Canyon Lakes Centre located within walking distance of the surrounding neighborhoods. It used to be called Patel Market (the owner's name) in a single retail space but eventually they expanded to the adjacent space. It is now called Fusion Cash and Carry. It's a small store with narrow aisles, but they have just about everything you need. The quality of the produce is quite high. Everything I've always needed was fresh. I particularly like their cilantro, mint, Persian cucumbers, variety of peppers and chilies, potatoes, onions and tomatoes. Occasionally they have fresh ginger directly from Hawaii. They have a very large assortment of spices. You can get small or large packages of your favorites like paprika, chili powder, cumin, coriander, clove, cinnamon, cardamom and turmeric. Their produce prices are a little more than Sprouts, Walmart or Smart & Final, but I the quality is near what you can get at the weekend Farmers Market in San Ramon or the local Safeway. If you have a chance, try their fresh Potato Samosa's. They are a $1 each, but large in size.

Lots of parking, and many customers shopping here (a good sign). Decided to stop by after my dental visit, and found a lot of dry goods and refrigerated products that you would not be able to find in most other stores. Besides food, there was also a section for kitchenware, as well as other items for use around the house. The strange thing was it seemed the name recently changed (see photo). Looking at the address and some old signage, this was the market in the original yelp review, so maybe it's only been a recent change? Aisles are a little narrow, and prices seem higher than what I would have expected, but I would recommend stopping by to at least see what they have in stock.

Please make sure you check the dates for the snacks(namkeens), cookies, digestive tabs before buying as most of the things on their shelves could be expired 6 months ago. A few months ago I bought a Daal Wadi, the packet was almost 6 months old. The most disappointing part was a few months ago I was pregnant craving for some Cumin digestive Chews ( Jeera goli). I bought this bottle in the month of November and noticed the expired date after coming back home as Oct2020. I even informed the cashier at the front, looks like they care less about the dates, food safety on products.

I wish I could give no stars. I am their regular customer. But since the shutdown since two times their vegetables are stale and rotting with fungus growing. I felt that maybe supplies are low and I didn't want to visit many stores, so I got what I could. But in two days the American eggplant and methi rotted. Again, I gave benefit of doubt thinking supplies must be low everywhere. And I spoke with the lady on the counter Aarti about why the veggies are not fresh in a nice inquiring manner. But she immediately shot back rudely that this what we have. What can we do. I told her I just wanted to know because maybe supplies are not coming. But she didn't reply to that. Afterwards when I asked my friends about other Indian shops, they told me that other shops have fresh veggies. So, I am just wondering why they have such bad veggies. I am guessing they are taking advantage and just trying to make money out of stale veggies. Because they know people will buy it. Never going back. Please don't go there and get duped as well as insulted.

Unethical practices of selling expired items, altering the expiration dates and rude staff, enough to avoid this place at all cost.

If you value your health, do not purchase anything here! Expiration dates are being fraudulently changed by owners and sold as fresh.

A must for us every single visit is the Honey Glow pineapple -- if you haven't tried one, you're missing out. They are incredibly sweet, almost like biting into pure sugar, but in the most natural and refreshing way. It's the kind of fruit that's hard to find at your average grocery store, and Berkeley Bowl delivers consistently. Beyond the pineapple, the quality across the board is impressive. The blueberries are plump and flavourful, the oranges are bright and juicy, and the wider fruit selection never fails to catch our eye. It's clear that real care goes into sourcing what ends up on those shelves. For anyone living in or passing through the East Bay, Berkeley Bowl is absolutely worth a stop. It's one of those places that makes grocery shopping genuinely enjoyable, and the produce alone is reason enough to visit.

I mainly visited for the fresh roasted peanuts which was the big draw here over the years. Sizes ranging from a small, medium to large bag @ $3.99/lb. The medium will get you a lb. Not sure when they were roasted but still good. Green Valley Produce is a small open store/stand offering fruits, some veggies, (no fresh herbs) and Middle Eastern spices, some vacuum-sealed meats, lentils, olive oils, dates, and some all meat puff pastry and vegetarian pies made locally. I left with some okra, yams, garlic, ginger spices, homemade beef pies...and of course, roasted peanuts. *** Overall 3.5 stars *** Pricing on fruit reasonable considering I just went to the Farmer's Market and noticed Green Valley selling the same Cara Cara oranges for 1.89/lb vs $3.89/lb which will get ya 4 oranges! I'm all for supporting small business but sheesh! Open 7 days a week from 830am - 730pm I wouldn't go out of your way to stop by unless you're wanting some roasted peanuts, reasonably-priced fruit and veggies and in the area. Support small business! Plenty of lot parking in front and located off B Street, next block over from Grocery Outlet
