Everything here is so good! We've probably tried most of their specialty rolls and have never been disappointed. One of my favorites is the Key West roll, its light and fresh! The staff is also so friendly and their service is great. This is easily the best sushi restaurant in all of the Baltimore area. read more

Their customer service is really bad. I will say rude and weird. I ordered korean BBQ with shrimp. I didn't realize that there's no shrimp at all until I see shrimp in others' bowl. I called the waiters and she called the owner. They insisted they put the shrimps in the bowl and I ate them up!!! What a crap! The worst part of story started from here. The owner,who was a big Lady came in barking at us "who said there's no shrimp?" She was kinda prepared for fighting. I was totally speechless. Are you going to run business like this? Yelling at your customers? What's more odd is that they took my bowl away and after a while came back with a packed up box, my leftover! I haven't finished my lunch yet and you packet it up? I witnessed the owner (some short haired Asian woman who was wearing way too many hats) go off on a group of customers bc they asked her to please speak kinder.... She was very harsh in her tone, very rude, and very ungrateful for her current success/business. She said to clients as they left, "I've been in business for 25 years and I can run things around here & talk to people however I want...don't come back"...super unprofessional & as much excellent things as I've heard about the food...I would not want to go someplace that treats customers that way. This was the absolute worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. I 100% agree with the "Little Hitler" review further down. Why the absolute worst? So here goes my story. I've been a server and expediter for 10 years in various restaurants so believe me I am VERY understanding of things that may go wrong at a dining experience, but this was just pure and raw rude treatment. Last night, on St. Patricks Day, My wife and I wanted to go someplace where it wouldn't be crowded. My wife just got back from the Philippines a week prior and she thought it sounded like a great idea. We were very excited to try a new place, especially a sushi and sake bar. We just LOVE sushi and sake. We enter the restaurant at 9:05 and it's totally dead except 2 elderly men sitting in a booth eating some sushi. There were many employees just standing around the bar area. 6 to 7 of them. Immediately when we sat down at the bar, we had a young man come up to ask for drink orders. We hadn't even had time to touch the menu or look around. I asked him where the drink menu was and he said "In the back of the menu". So I proceeded to open the menu only to find a GIGANTIC list of cocktails. With no prices. No prices on the draft beers either. So I ask for prices of the drinks and the young girl that came 2nd couldn't answer the question. She didn't even volunteer to find the answer, just said "Ohh, I don't know the prices of the drinks, I'm sorry." Then I start looking around the menu and find that it's extremely lengthy. I wanted to get a sense of all the sushi dishes because well...I LOVE sushi. So I took some time to study the menu and all it could offer. So study I did. Because there were about 30 different Sushi descriptions plus the rest of the menu plus 25 or so Cocktail descriptions. So there is the one employee standing at the other side of the bar, 2 feet from us, with his back turned the entire time since we sat down. We then had another older woman approach us and ask for food orders. It was 9:15 at this time. So I told her that the menu is very large and I needed just a few more minutes to get a sense of everything on it before I decided. She was not very interested in helping me with any of my questions either. Now comes the reason for my 1 star review. It was now 9:20, only 15 minutes after we entered. We finally placed a few appetizer orders and ordered the sake sampler to start, with every intention to order beer and cocktails and sushi platters in a few more minutes. The order was taken and then 3 minutes later, at 9:23, the manager starts barking at us from across the bar. WE WERE THE ONLY 2 PEOPLE LEFT INT HE RESTAURANT!! In an extreme rude barking tone, "You need to order before 10! You have 30 minutes to order, ok! 30 minutes! The kitchen closes at 10!" Now remember that my wife and I had JUST placed food and drink orders 3 minutes prior. I then ask her what the time was. She said it was 9:30 and we "needed to order now" Remember when I said it was 9:23? I told her that there are still 37 minutes left until 10pm and I planned on ordering some drinks and more food in just a few minutes. She then said that the restaurant closes at 10. I then ask her "You are not just saying the kitchen closes at 10, you are now saying the restaurant closes at 10. Does this mean you are going to kick us out if we haven't finished eating or finished our drink within the 37 minutes that we have remaining?" She said, again, in an EXTREMELY rude tone..."Yes we will kick you out, you will have to leave at 10 because that's when we close!" None of the other employees even flinched or looked at us. As if it's a common thing. But we did see the young girl who initially requested our order, in the corner server station of sorts try to whisper to this woman like a "Hey , come on, stop that, please stop" The food and drinks had not arrived yet and I look at my wife who was extremely baffled by this extremely rude treatment and told her that we were leaving. She smiled at me and said she wanted to go someplace where we would be treated better. Too bad I can't write about the food experience. And I will never have the chance. Our check total for the 2 of us would have been around $70 and I would have left at least a $20 tip to the young waitress. read more

Favorite sushi place in the hunt valley area! The fried rice is amazing as well. I haven't tried anything here that I don't like. The sweet fried roll and the kiss me roll are my favorites! They get busy on Fridays and Saturdays but service has always been great! read more

Two friends and I went to this restaurant this evening just to have a quiet drink close to where we were. Considering their sign says "Restaurant, Sake, Bar" we figured it would be fine place for a beer. We walked in and sat at the half empty bar, I made eye contact with the chef behind the bar and was given a very hairy eyeball. The the owner came over and said "Are you getting carryout?" (in hindsight encouraging us to leave) One of my companions replied "No, we just came into get a couple of drinks." She then responded "No, you can't do that here, you have to go to the bar Ashland Cafe down the street. This isn't a bar, it's a sushi bar." Meanwhile other people were drinking alcoholic beverages served from their full bar, and beer on tap. I was taken back and wanted to say something, but she made us feel so uncomfortable that we really had no choice but to leave. We weren't necessarily kicked out, but it was obvious as soon as we walked in, and reaffirmed by our conversation, that we were unwelcome. Even though we were willing customers who make it a point to tip well, the bar was half empty and the restaurant was less than a quarter full. I have eaten there one other time and the food is fine but the service was not great (she was rude to us then as well), obviously this time the service was nil, because were basically asked to leave within 15 seconds of sitting down. I have heard time and time again that as a patron of a restaurant you are basically paying for the atmosphere, you would would not be getting your moneys worth here. The rudeness of the owner aside, the paint scheme and layout of the store seems to feel more like a recently remodeled gathering hall of a fire department. there are at least 4 large flat screen TVs playing random television stations which of course ruins any dining, or social outing with friends. The bar itself is incredibly uncomfortable to sit at (even if for less than a minute), and some of their tables are just cheap plastic folding tables. Also, their sign is inside of a goal post because it used to be a sports bar, but it looks pretty awful. As cheap as the atmosphere of this place feels it's hard to believe they are turning away customers. We did end up going to Ashland Cafe and had a fine time, and were greeted with good service and were happily served a beer, which we quietly drank as planned, discussed why someone would make us feel so awkward, and left with in half an hour. We surmised that perhaps we weren't the high class clientele that these people are trying to appeal too. even though we were not slovenly dressed, just jeans and t shirts. but i feel that if they are trying to appeal to a higher class of patrons they could class the place up a little bit themselves. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I was not impressed by the food at a past visit, the ambience is terrible, and the service is horrible and/if-not non-existent. I must admit Fusion exceeded my expectations. The location on York Rd is very unassuming- so much so that I drove by more than a dozen times with no interest in ever trying it until a co-worker suggested that we go for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised at the overall decor and the sushi was far better than I expected. I had the rainbow roll and it was some of the best I had. The sushi is GREAT. Unfortunately for them, there are plenty of great sushi restaurants in the area that actually care about their customers, that are more deserving of my money. Last night a group of my friends and I came here for dinner. We waited over an hour and a half to place our order. Not only was the service horrible, but the owner was so incredibly rude to us when I tried to explain my disappointment with our experience. I've always recommended Umi Sake, also owned by Lisa Lee, and have brought in many friends to their restaurants, and can tell you that I will never be back there. If you want amazing sushi and enjoy supporting local businesses with impeccable customer service as much as I do, I suggest Yamato Sushi in Lutherville. By far the best sushi along York Road. Sitting at the bar and getting to watch them make it really is a cool experience. The waiters are attentive and quick. I have only tried sushi but I hear that their other Asian inspired food is terrific. The one problem I have with this place is the staff and owner cater to the "favorites". I needed another drink and no one came over to me while I saw another guest who was obviously a regular get taken care of before me. Sat in the dining area, not the bar. Came around 5:30 for dinner on a Wednesday night with two people. She had the Thai Curry with chicken and seemed to like it (it was a lot of food and she brought home leftovers). I got the Godzilla roll and the Torched Angel, and I thought both were REALLY delicious. Food gets a 5/5 in my mind. I did feel a little rushed, having been asked a half-dozen times if we were ready to order, but I suppose you could call it just a very attentive waitress. There's a big and varied menu so you can get all kinds of Asian dishes, and not just sushi. There's something for everyone here. I wish the decor/ambience didn't feel so "generic American restaurant," but the delicious sushi made up for it. read more

I researched the area and found this restaurant. I walked up to the sushi bar and asked for beef oyster sauce, they said they could make it and it was great. I added mushrooms, broccoli, and onions. The beef seems to be quality ribeye, not round steak. The mushrooms were a variety I have not seen before and they tasted great. I had a Sapporo on draft and the whole meal with tip came in under $25. The locals outside said this was a great place, I agree! read more

My "seared" ahi was completely cooked through, not a problem except no one bothered to ask how our meal was. 45 minutes later, twiddling our thumbs just ready to get the check and get out. We were also asked to write down our own order (not just the sushi checklist, the entrees we wanted also) There was a manger looking lady who asked the group behind us if everything was good but we were passed over by her and our server. We were very surprised at just how terrible the sushi rolls were here being that the chef was the original chef at our favorite sushi restaurant down the road. Very poor quality sushi. It wasn't rolled very well and was crumbly. The sushi rice was under cooked and hard in the center. The fish in the sushi was not fresh. The service was sub par. This is another go-to of mine in Cockeysville--conveniently right down the road. I've never had a bad piece of sushi from here, and my orders are always right on time when I go in to pick them up. Sure, the boss lady isn't the warmest person in the world, but I'm not going in to have a rainbow shoved down my throat. Have been twice and have been pleased both times. My son and I love sushi but my husband doesn't like it at all so we are always on the look out for great Asian places that have a bit of both. We got calamari and coconut shrimp as apps. Shrimp were outstanding... calamari was fresh but had no flavor and needed salt. Husband has gotten General Tso chicken both times and its been great both times. Crispy and flavorful. I've gotten different rolls. While the variety is huge and the sushi very fresh I wasn't as impressed my second time around with the spice factor of two rolls that were supposed to be spicy but were just eh. i love it here and the food is so good but the service is so bad. me and my friends got there and we sat down right away we got our order taken which was nice and then the food came out right away. but we only had our food for 5 minutes and she comes over to ask if we are splitting the check. we told her yes. then 3 minutes later she comes back with the check. at first we were like what the... but then we thought she just wanted to have it there when needed. not even 4 minutes she comes back and asks if we are done. we are all on our 4th bite like what the heck! throughout the rest of the night she hovered over our table seeing when we would be finished and didn't ask anything just stared us down. i understand that you want to get out of here but dude i'm a customer and i've only been here for 20 minutes. your rushing us out of here so fast. the food was so good but that lady need a xanax and chill so i can at least enjoy my food for a little bit. read more

Dined here for the first time last night. My dining companion and I started with a spicy tuna roll and California roll. Both were OK, although we had to wait several minutes with the rolls at the table to get anyone to bring soy sauce. Throughout the evening we waited for the soy sauce, plates for our main courses and refills on drinks having to stop someone and ask each time. The shrimp pad thai wasn't bad. My friend's pineapple fried rice with shrimp was very bland. This place is always busy but after this visit I'm not sure why. Prices were reasonable. Service a 3 and food a 3. read more

Tried Fusion restaurant last night with friends. We ordered sushi and wonton soup. We we seated right away without wait with a reservation. Waitress was solid. Always attentive, and knew the menu. The soup was excellent, and the sushi was fresh and put together to perfection. This was my first experience there, and I will return.
