We went to Fusion with high expectations because a Facebook friend posted a good review. Our expectations were exceeded by far! It would be a mistake to not go there because it is located right in the middle of a small industrial center next to Shasta Welding Supply and Crossfit Gym. The hole-in-the-wall joint is a bar & grill, not a hoity toity restaurant. We were good with it. We are a senior couple who enjoy new dining experiences. We tried the Ahi Poke (fresh & tasty), the Salt Baked Calamari (plump & spicy), and the Fusion Burger (Hella good!). We shared all this and it was way too much food. On the way out we saw someone chewing down on the Pho. It looked awesome! The guys in there were very attentive and showed a real enthusiasm and passion for the food they offer. I don't really think you could find better Asian Fusion in the center of San Francisco! Can't believe this place is less than 2 miles from our house. Will we be back? Yep! OMG I finally got a chance to try this spot! Fusion burger with garlic fries and the salt baked calamari. 1) loved everything! 2) coming back with family /friends when I have more time to relax and have a cocktail! What is a fusion burger? 1/4 lb beef patty lightly battered and deep fried. Topped with a fried egg, veggies, Serrano peppers special fusion sauce, roasted eggplant sauce, and cheese on a grilled bun! 11 bucks. Very greasy (it's battered and fried) but def worth it What is salt baked calamari? Calamari coated in a spicy salt baked tamarind powder then battered and fried served with fried jalapeños and green onuons! 9 bucks. Very good flavor (yummie) but a tad rubbery. Good bar food right there. The server/barkeep was very friendly, great personality. Explained the menu, offered to let me taste the seasoning before I ordered. Finally made it here and we'll be back. Only negative-- it was rather warm inside (Of course, it was 114 outside but still would have been more enjoyable if if were cooler, or at least more air movement!) 2 drinks-- a berry something and the strawberry lime, both with vodka, were cool and refreshing! Edamame was fantastic with lots of flavorful spice (not just hot spice)! I had the HoFun noodles ( or something close to this!) with the pork and it was delicious and full of flavor (and will enjoy it again tomorrow for lunch as the portion was generous). Hubby had the chicken sandwich with the fried egg and gravy (can't remember what it was called) and he demolished it. Lots of interesting things on the menu so will have to return and try more! read more

Ordered a California burrito and pinot grigio. The meat in burrito was better than any California burrito I've ever had, BUT it wasn't the best California burrito I've had. Food here lately has just been ok at best! It's real hit or miss on what you get. One of my work buddies really likes the pho here so we generally eat it about every other week or so. Sometimes it's great and other times like today it's not. We had a number of people order pho and every plate was different. Only one had all the ingredients and every other order was missing one thing or another. Usually comes with shrimp, Tri-tip, chicken, Lao meat balls, pork belly, rice noodles and some veggies in it. One had no pork belly, none had meat balls, one had no Tri-tip and one had very little chicken and what chicken there was had the tendons attached like from the leg of a drum stick. I've also ordered there fusion burger which was loaded with grease (picked it up and grease just ran out of the burger) and the buffalo chicken sandwich which had no buffalo sauce in it and tasted super bland. It seemed like the food at the old location was more consistent with the taste and quality. Hopefully with the new location they can get some of the bugs worked out in the kitchen and be more consistent with the quality of the food. I'll wait a while before I give them another shot until then buyer beware! ***Update*** We have been bAck several times since my original review and I'm happy to say that Fusion is back on the ball!! Worst meal I've ever had. Ordered Ho Fun Noodles got a cold plate of eggs and shrimp with no noodles. Waitress was very nice and took it back. Brought me a new plate of half cooked top ramen with the seasoning packet dumped on top. Might of been edible if they didn't use so many seasoning packets. Waitress was very nice adjusted our bill. Definitely you average dive bar - very loud, not much room for seating, yet friendly customer service. Food is average in comparison to what you'd find at other bars in Redding even though they attempt to be unique with being an Asian-fusion place. Prices are on the lower end however, which is a bit of a plus. read more

This is my favorite restaurant in Redding! Kim, the waitress, is the best but all of the ladies are extremely helpful and nice. We always look forward to going there. Our favorite things to get is the tacos, pho-rito, california burrito, fusion shrimp, and buffalo chicken fries. What a find. My wife grew up in Redding and doesn't usually have good things to say about the food. This place was GREAT, though, and we left full and happy. Our waitress/bar tender was super helpful with drink & food choices. There's a small menu, but from what I saw they stick to what they do great, and everything was just that; great! I had the special, The Mikelson & she had the ahi lettuce wraps with a side of garlic fries. The side was a whole basket of truly awesome garlic fries. My special was LOADED with everything and fried egg. The sausage gravy on the special and side of cross-cut fries tasted fresh & homemade. With lots of beer on tap, pool table & a few TV's with different programs running; I could easily make this a regular stop, if I lived in Redding! We were up in Redding for a family get together. After checking into the Hilton Garden Inn, which will be covered in another Yelp review; we checked our every accurate Yelp restaurant reviews and were intrigued by reviews for Fusion. Got Google maps fired up and off we went. Google got us into an industrial type area, interesting and led us to Fusion Bar and Grill. The outside is reminiscent of a biker bar/local dive bar, my interest totally spiked and in we went. You walk into the bar right off the street, but I knew I liked it when I spotted one of the patrons had his Bull Terrier on a leash just hanging out greeting everyone with a wagging tail and please pet me gaze. The place is small, clean and has a pleasant locals vibe, it's a bar so it is loud but a good loud. You can tell the owner knows bars, great Bose sound system for the music box, good pool table, great selection from the bar, signature cocktails....... and a menu that is stand alone, varied and delicious. Our waitress was quick to come over and greeted us. Took awhile to decide what to eat because of the incredible variety of interesting menu offerings. Starters; the Spiked Thai Tea, seriously, one of the best cocktails I have EVER had. Next was the egg roll appetizer, fresh not at all greasy and so yummy with a perfect sweet/sour dipping sauce. Dinner; I went the Pho that was perfectly done served with the correct side sauces. The broth was so good, with rare steak, chicken and beef. Go with the standard size bowl unless your starved as the large is huge! My wife had a seared Ahi special that was reported to be excellent, I wasn't offered a bite to taste as she hoarded it, being so good. The food was excellent, I was amazed such a hole in the wall bar in an industrial area had an owner with the foresight to build such an in depth eclectic menu of food and cocktails. We wanted another Spiked Thai Tea, but apparently the build their own mixer and ours was the last of the days offering. We had a Red Lotus, another unexpected delicious cocktail. All I can say is if in Redding and interested in good food and a relaxed bar scene with a great vibe, you gotta try Fusion Bar and Grill. My only negative is I live in Santa Rosa, or this place would be on my regulars list of go to bar/dinner spots. read more

Really wanted to like this place but no one took our drink our order for a good 15 minutes. We got drinks and an appetizer. Our drinks came out fast but our appetizer didn't come out for an hour and no one came to take our meal order during that whole time. Even though we saw the bar tenders/waiters walk around and help other people. I get that it's a bar and people probably usually go to sit at the bar but the tables in the rest of the building need to be attended to too. Maybe it was an off night I'm not sure. But we just ate the appetizer and skipped ordering a meal because it took so long. We got the "fusion fries" and they were okay. This is such a gem for those trying to grab a drink, get a few laughs and a few games of pool or even karaoke. I was actually most impressed with the food selection however. The food is phenomenal, especially when you consider the bar like atmosphere, it's almost a paradox. I got the jojos- came with fried chicken, cheese sauce, jalepenos- all I got to say is OMG. My girlfriend got the pho, and it's decent pho. I reccomebs this place to anyone who wants to be in a bar and snack or even grab dinner with your gal. After coming here for months upon months, this place has definitely gone downhill. The service sucks, it takes forever to get anything and by the time the food comes it's cold and overcooked. I've also found hair in my food multiple times and each time they have done nothing about it. The servers aren't the best and aren't very informative of the food either, I understand it's mostly a bar but every time I have ordered anything they just look miserable or mad that I even order anything. Some of the women servers even flirt with my husband right in front of me which is kinda rude as well. I usually come here for the ramen and they keep changing things about it or not having something in stock for it, kinda disappointing. Was hearing a whole lot about this place so decided to try it out. My friends & I waited at the door for 10 mins and no one greeted or seated us until I had to wave at a waitress. After we were seated, no one came and took our order so again after waiting about 15-20 minutes, I waved down a waitress to take our drink orders and food orders. We've wasted about 35 mins by now just waiting on the waitresses to come get seat us and get our orders. We waited another 30 mins for food to come out. I had ordered pho, which turned out pretty good except the noodles were way too soft and soggy. I gave this place a 2 star because the pho broth was good but I think the service is poor and needs to be fixed. We waited about an hour before we got food and I think that's a little extreme especially since there wasn't that much people in there too. read more

Everyone I know who has eaten here, including myself has always gotten stomach aches and sick from their food , must be the oils or grease it's cooked in.
