Be aware this shop has problem to redeem the Groupon purchase. Bought two window tint services on Groupon for Sunnyvale shop. Scheduled the service online, and when I went to the shop on 5/28, it has been permanently closed. Called the Fremont shop, and Shawn said they can honor the Groupon, but I need to drop off the car for the whole day. (which I cannot on that day) Later went to the shop on 6/1, they said "Sorry, we cannot do it today. Please call back on 6/5." Called on 6/5 and 6/6, got the response " Sorry you cannot use it here since it's only for Sunnyvale shop". I got the feeling they just don't want to do business with me. Why not refuse it on 5/28? Totally a waste of time and money. Their listing is still online for Sunnyvale shop. read more

Came here for a Oil change + Inspection. Note that Tire Rotation is optional and you have to ask for it and they may still deny based on 1st time being there vs. needing it. Was able to book an appointment online for the same day. If they are offering Groupon, instead of buying it from Groupon, they may be able to honor the same price in store if you were to mention it. Went here today to replace my brake pads and come to find out they did not need to be replaced! Within 5 minutes Sean was able to find the actual problem (broken wires indicating they needed to be changed) and fixed the problem the same day. Though it took a bit longer than expected, he was transparent, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. Glad I came to Future Auto Care, will definitely be recommending his services to my family and friends. TIP: I believe they accept walk ins, but definitely make an appointment if you can because they are very busy! read more

Been doing oil change there using Groupon for over 3 years. Never had any issue. I do oil change over 4 times a year. Every front desk guys before were really nice and friendly, until today this Mike acted like a jerk. Gave me a hard time using Groupon. Claiming only for first time customer. All BS. I have been using Groupon over years without any issue. Only time they change is you have to pay the recycling fee of ~$12. But, this guy Mike constantly complaining about using the Groupon. If they don't like Groupon stop selling it on there. Don't blame customer from buying it. Later he made such a big deal to honor the Groupon and trying to charge me ~$30 for difference. I reminded him it's only ~$12. He had to get help from the owner to make the right amount adjustment. It's very disappointed and sad how this place has deteriorated. No way customer will comeback if they don't honor Groupon for all customers. The oil change also has no 35points check as stated on the Groupon . read more

I received an oil change here back in February through a Groupon that I found offering full-synthetic oil change, however upon arrival I wasn't notified there was an extra fee to just use the Groupon on top of disposal charges for the oil. I decided to go through with it since I drove so far already. After receiving the oil change a couple months in, the oil level in my car steadily dropped until the sensor turned on giving me a warning that my car was starting to run low on oil. I called them to inspect as to why the oil is my car is already running low. After inspection, to my surprise, they discovered an oil leak. I was skeptical since this car is not used that often and well taken care of. I decided to get a second opinion at another mechanic. And again to my surprise, NO leak was found. I felt lied to. Be cautious of mechanics that scare you into spending unnecessary money on problems that aren't true. Never coming back again. read more

I booked an appointment to get my tires rotated. According to their website, tire rotation is always free, but I had to pay $25. It's a fair price for the service but the information advertised was misleading. I made an appointment for 3pm and they didn't get started on my car until 40 minutes later, so be prepared to wait. Once they got to my car the whole thing took less than 10 minutes. I asked about the pricing as my friend received her services for free earlier that day and was told it's because she bought her tires from them. read more

Got a Groupon for an Oil Change. Found one for a brake change too. During their "Inspection" the dude literally shined a flashlight at my brakes and went "oh yeah you need new brakes". For any non-car people, this is a big red flag. No micrometer or taking the tire off to actually inspect or anything. Figured it was a Groupon deal so may as well just get the brakes while here. They call me a few hours later and try to charge me an extra $1000+ saying I need new rotors (no I don't). They say the rotors are rusted on the outside edge and they can't change brakes if I don't change the rotors, which is the most bs thing I've ever heard of. I haven't had any grinding, steering wheel wobbles, leaning, or any signs of bad rotors. At this point, I can't trust what oil they put in or if they even bothered to change the filter. Ended up doing my own brakes & oil (rotors are fine btw. Some minor rust on the outside edge with NO issues is no reason to replace them. No pitting, no inside rust, flush all around, and no warping) This place isn't even worth a Groupon deal. Avoid. read more

4 years later, they still offer the same great customer centric experience. I used to bring my old 1999 Toyota Camry XLE V6 here and they kept me on the road in full confidence (that car btw is still running great to this day with the next owner). I now have a 2023 Toyota Camry TRD and it was a no brainer on where to take it after the 25k Toyota Care was used up. I had my car inspected and an oil change performed. They still beat all local prices on most repairs (dealership had quoted me $1500 for a brake job and told me it needed to be done immediately, whereas FAC recommended to do it at the next oil change and quoted me way less for my vehicle). It was no frills, very friendly, and their office manager is very friendly and straightforward. I had some other questions after this appointment and returned a couple weeks later to have my concerns addressed, the tech communicated with me very well. I feel fortunate that I found Future Auto Care when it was a new business. The owner, Sean, is knowledgeable, competent, ethical, and just plain nice. I feel safe when driving my car because I trust my mechanic. I have never known him to try to upsell anything when my car is in his hands. He does not nickel and dime stuff either. For example, on my way to an appointment at Future Auto Care, my car's reverse camera screen quit working. He looked up diagnostic information and got it working again without charging me anything for doing that. Just to the right side of Future Auto Care's entry door is a slot to put keys into outside of business hours. If and when my car needs to be towed, I plan on having it towed to Future Auto Care. This gives me absolute peace of mind to know what to do if I get stranded somewhere because my car is disabled. read more

Worst service ever! I confirmed my appointment the day of and they canceled my appointment last minute (30 MINUTES before the appointment). Good luck if you tell them you use a Groupon; they will treat you like crap. They will either make you wait or reschedule because they think you are cheap. They did not ever offer to reschedule and made me do it on my end. Waste of my time, effort, and did not give a crap. All they care about is their selfish selves. A friend recommended me Future Auto after I had a frustrating experience calling several auto shops in the Fremont/Newark area only to hear back an oil change was going to be $100 (which is nuts by the way). I checked out Future Auto's website and easily made the appointment online. I tried calling in but the phone line was pretty busy. My friend also shared with me their Groupon deal which is $50 for full synthetic while their regular full synthetic price is $70. Even without the Groupon deal, the price is low compared to competition so I was skeptical about what corners were going to be cut. My friend assured me they use genuine Honda 0W-20 oil and showed me the invoice. My personal experience: The shop is a small operation among other auto shops so the parking lot was busy but I found a spot. Sean is a really nice guy and was easy to work with (speaks Mandarin Chinese too). The whole vibe was that I felt that Sean was doing me a favor, like a friend to a friend. The oil change took an hour but I took a quick 3 minute walk down to Suju's while I waited. As far as I can tell, the job was done well and I had excellent customer service. I checked the brand of oil filter when I got home and they installed a Microgard oil filter. There's an additional $10 oil disposal fee but you were going to pay that anyway at any oil change station. So far, I'm pretty happy with the overall experience and will definitely come back for future maintenance and fixes. If you decide to get oil change service here, don't buy the Groupon! Sean will give you the same low price when you come in for your walk-in/appointment but all of the costs and fees go directly to the business instead of sharing some of the fees to Groupon. read more

Oil change with safety and maintenance inspection. The inspections revealed a list of needed repairs and maintenance issues. The prices were reasonable and Sean was able to get the work done after ordering the parts the same day. The receptionist, Yolanda was kind enough to drop me off at the AMC Movie Theater during her lunch break so while my car was being serviced, I enjoyed my self at the theater. Great customer service above and beyond! My car was ready by the time I returned. Everything repaired, running smoothly and my vehicle passed SMOG the following day without a hitch!
