I've had hot and cold experiences here, but always positive when Linh did my acrylic nails! She was careful, fantastic, and very kind! Everyone else in the salon seemed to forget who I was, but Linh was the best. I highly suggest her! I stopped going there because a couple times she wasn't working when I wanted to make an appointment and have been going back to Fabulous Nails since (they also do a good job and it actually lasts a little longer), but the reason I still think of FYN fondly is because Linh is great with acrylic nails. read more

I love FYN Salon. They have been in Los Altos for over 20 years and have many spa/salon services. I just got an email the other day that they are now offering blowouts (the increasingly popular hair wash/dry). I can't wait to try it! I recently got shellac on my nails and got a neck/head massage while they were doing my nails. It was AMAZING and I didn't want them to stop. I highly recommend their massage services while you are getting your nails done it is WELL worth it! I live in Palo Alto, but go out of my way to come here for mani/pedi's whenever I have time. The gals are perfectionists in application; also gentle, professional, friendly and awesome at massage. The salon is spa like but with a bit more energy and relaxing music. Unlike other salons in Palo Alto, the location has sufficient parking. they also don't charge extra for use of a credit card or OPI polish. read more

I have been going to Lynn for years. They are the best and really hurting right now due to Covid. There Covid processes are great. I felt very safe....there are plexiglass partitions between you and the manicurist. The manicure tables are spaced 6' apart and the pedicure chairs are use every other one so 6' apart as well. read more

Relaxing and pleasant experience here. Vivian is a lovely lady and did a good job on gel manicure. Bf and I also got our pedicure done here and he said the massage was quite nice and the treatment kept his toes nice and shinny. Total $90 for one mani and two pedi. If I could give negative stars I would!! Horrible experience!! Went in for a fill never had been before Waited awhile which was OK but the women that did my nails was horrible I have acrylic with shellac she kept burning me with the drill. She wasn't even using the right file and that's why it was burning me on top of it I told her I wanted my nails shorter she was going to use a cuticle cuter I couldn't deal with the lack of skills in this salon so I had to leave!! I have had really mixed experiences here but my latest manicure will be my last. After showing the manicurist my very dark (almost black) nail color she rolled her eyes and expressed displeasure. She proceeded to slop on the color getting it all over my cuticles. I realize she may have been having a bad day but I have decided to just go elsewhere. read more

Oh my gosh I LOVE FOR YOUR NAILS. I've tried virtually every salon in Los Altos, some places do a better job, some are a bit cheaper, but they are the nicest, funniest, most welcoming people with the best calm salon environment. I've been coming here for years, it's probably the first place I ever got a manicure. If you want a good nail salon "experience", hit up FYN. One warning-- I've heard bad things about their eyelash extensions (my friend had a bad reaction) but I've only ever done nails and never had a bad experience. One of my worst mani experiences of all times. One of my friends goes here regularly and swears by them so I decided I'd make an appointment and try them out. Let me start with the welcome - I walk in and they stare at me...all of them. Just stare. Then finally one of them said "what". Yes, she did say "what". After a couple back and forths about what I wanted - I am sorry, i know you are not supposed to say this but their English is impossible to understand (way worse than expected - and no I am not being difficult. English is not my first language either but I learned to speak it understandably) I am told to pick a color. I say I don't want colors I just want french..literally asked and answered 8 times. After I am finally seated they start talking amongst themselves in their native language repeating "clear", looking at me and laughing out loud. To say I am uncomfortable at this point is a gross understatement. So was every other customer in the place at the time. I quickly learn what they are laughing about when the lady working on my nails starts doing them clear....I assume she is doing a base..until she asks me for the 9th time if I really want clear and not a color... at this point i say "white tip please" as if I were speaking to a child...she finally got it. After this point there was a lot of awkward silence...her trying to make it better by complimenting my natural nail shape..and more awkward silence. Then I left Needless to say I am never going back. Let me start with the positive. My manicurist was super sweet and patient, and definitely listened to what I wanted, she did a 4 star worthy french gel manicure. (Only four because some of the nails were uneven and two nails had cracks in the white). However, my pedicure was absolutely awful. The woman who did it was so aggressive and it was definitely the most painful pedicure I have ever received. And the polish job was no good either, I could have done a better job myself. HOWEVER, she did give me a very lengthy foot massage, which was much appreciated. Overall, I may go back for a manicure if I'm in the area and request the same gal, but definitely not a pedicure. read more

The people were nice, but I had to tell the woman who did my acrylics that she was hurting me 3 times from shaving the nail down to low. The nails ended up lop sides and I had to ask her to fix 4 nails because they looked too bad. Two days later the nail polish started chipping off even though I bought gel. They were also really expensive for the quality they were. I don't see myself going back here. read more

I've been desperately looking for a new place to get my nails done that uses the high quality gel instead of the powder acrylic. This place was great! Beautiful salon, soothing music, and really nice people working there. I didn't get a pedicure but the chairs were just lovely unlike some previous reviews said. My only complaints are that it was a bit too warm in there and they didn't have the pillows for comfort that some places do. But ... they were accommodating in every way. FYN Salon is the place to go in Los Altos for manicures/pedicures. Vivian is a wonderful person & has just the best ladies working for her. I've never had a problem with the manicures/pedicures I've had done there. Always very clean & the ladies are very attentive to whatever you need. There are other services available (eyelash extensions, etc.) & I almost always see someone getting a shoulder/neck massage. The prices are really very reasonable. read more

Never been here before and asked for a pedicure which the menu said was $25. They sat me immediately and did a very nice job. When it was time to pay, she said $35. I confirmed the price for a regular was $25 and she said I didn't specifically say regular and assumed I wanted the spa style which was $10 more. She never asked or double checked. How was I to know? She said to make sure I specify next time. There will not be a next time. This place is shady and taking advantage of it's Los Altos zip code. Don't go here. read more

For your nails is my favorite nail salon in Los Altos. Their prices are very reasonable for Los Altos and they do great work. I recommend the pedicures; they give the longest massages. The salon's owner was extremely accommodating when all of my bridesmaids and I were there. Instead of charging extra, she reduced the price and allowed our group to have the salon basically to ourselves. You can also tell there is mutual respect between the nail technicians and the owner which is rare to feel and experience. read more

I have been going to For Your Nails (FYN) for pedicures for a long time, and yesterday I had a facial here for the first time. Ti, the owner, gave me a 75 minute facial, which included laying on a warm pad, steam, mask, exfoliation and massage of face, head ,neck, arms, legs and feet and hands! I have very sensitive skin and usually break out from facials, but this was wonderful and my skin feels and looks smoother and more hydrated.. if you get a pedi at the same time it is $99. for both. a fabulous experience. read more

Nadia is amazing! She is one of the nicest, sweetest people I know. I used to get my nails polished and eyebrows waxed by her before I moved to L.A. There are many of nail salons that I could of gone to before my wedding to get my nails done, but I wanted to go to Nadia instead. My flight got delayed by an hour which made me almost an hour late for my appointment with Nadia. She was still able to see me and did a shellac french tip and waxed my eyebrows. I had so many compliments from my guests on my nails and they lasted three weeks, with no chips or breakage. I have had shellac french tip done at other salons in LA and they usually last 10 days to two weeks before breaking or chipping. Go to Nadia she is the best! read more

Being a busy mom, I need a facial, manicure and pedicure for the first time in 10 years! I called places between Sunnyvale and Los Gatos - everyone either receive less that comforting reviews, already busy all day or already close down for Thanksgiving break. I walked in to FYN to find warm and friendly welcome from Vivian and her team - lovely to see the smiles on FYN team and customers too! They took me for facial within an hour with manicure and pedicure within 20 minutes. Well that is impressive! FYN has many lovely staff! My Facial with Vivian was wonderful, my skin is very thankful - I feel that my skin is breathing. The peeling was very gentle, yet cleanse thoroughly. Vivian has a magic hands, pleasant personality and very gentle on my face. My manicure and pedicure were wonderful as well. One thing I notice that FYN has many young customers doing their nails and customer of all ages - very family friendly. The place is very quite and serene as well as squeaky clean! Vivian told me they sanitize all equipment and have a high standard of cleanliness. This place is GEM in the Main Street of Los Altos! I am taking my daughter, 9 yo to get her manicure and pedicure today. Their price doesn't break the bank and they have student discount! Thank you FYN and team. I have been going to For Your Nails as a walk in for several years. It has always frustered me that the manicurists speak to each other in their native language even though all the customer speak English. The maicurists can speak English but only to the customers. They will say something I can't understand and then laugh. Are they laughing at me or another customer? I believe it is very rude. Let them talk to each other on their breaks. I saw a review that someone went back to their former place to have heir nails done...Loma Spa in Cupertino. I went there and was so very pleased and the manicurist actually had a conversation with me in English. read more

I have been going to this salon for years. I don't live in town anymore so whenever I am back, I make a point to get a mani/pedi. Part of the reason I am so loyal is because I was in there once when the health inspector came for a surprise inspection. I was glad to hear the inspector commend them for not having anything to penalize. I have lived in LA and NY and am on a constant search for the best place. I honestly, use my experience at For Your Nails as the standard because they give the best hand and foot massages with the service. My nails last longer by a week too. There is always water available. If they are busy, the may not offer because they are working but I don't use that as a measure of my mani/pedi. I appreciate the consistent service I have received through the years. Many of the regulars have been going here for decades so I wonder if the negative reviews are from customers that pop in and out of different salons? I have gotten mani/pedis from the top spas in the country and I still think For Your Nails is my favorite nail experience. read more
