Stumbled upon Gaby's while driving through the area and were happy we stopped in for lunch! I can't say my experience was similar to that of some of the less than ideal previous reviews. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and sat by the window within minutes. The restaurant was clean - including the rest room. Our waitress was great. We never felt like we were waiting to be helped and were excited about the large menu. Specifically the fact they serve breakfast all day although I ended up ordering the chicken salad club sandwich. The club was delicious (and huge!) and the fries were crispy. We enjoyed our time at Gaby's and look forward to visiting again to try out some of the other countless menu options!

Decided on this place because it was the only place we found nearby that didn't require a reservation on a Saturday. It's basically a diner. Nothing fancy. Extensive menu. Lots to choose from. It's definitely a family spot. Our server was nice. She made recommendations and was very attentive. The prices are decent, the food is basic, and the place is clean. Two pluses are that they have a great ice cream stand AND sufficient parking!

What once was Ginny's, along NJ Route 12 on the way to Frenchtown, just next to the state police station now is the home of Gaby's Cafe. A charming roadside cafe that not only serves up Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner but also offers ice cream & coffee. We found this by chance on our way to Frenchtown and were excited to check it out. Inviting from the street with its clean exterior and bright umbrella covered tables we couldn't resist. The interior is decorated with florals and is cozy and comfortable. A ginormous menu has lots to choose from and excited and friendly staff were eager to serve. The owner was even working behind the counter and greeted us. (Always a nice touch) Our food was served with a smile and perfect temperature. The flavors were somewhat disappointing as I was expecting a "savory waffle" what was described on the menu as herb infused) but mine was just a basic breakfast waffle. The Cuban had all the flavors and textures of most and was enjoyable. I had to bump a star for the gnats in the windowsills and the inaccurate waffle description. Then another for the poorly maintained bathrooms. Missing towels and in desperate need of cleaning. I would definitely return when in the area to see growth and progress as well as to try out different menu items as there are MANY to choose from.

There were definitely some hits and misses with this visit…read more The freshly squeezed orange juice was delicious, although there were two sizes listed and I wasn't asked which size I wanted--I was simply charged for the larger one. The service was quick, and there is both indoor and outdoor seating, which is a nice option. However, the order wasn't checked before it was brought out, so it arrived incomplete. The home fries were bland and came with raw peppers, which I wasn't expecting- should have been sautéed so the texture matched the potatoes. The French dip was unfortunately overcooked and dry, with a ton of onions that weren't mentioned on the menu (HUGE ISSUE bc he's allergic to onions!) We also requested horseradish sauce on the side, but it never came out. The cranberry-orange turkey salad was tasty, but the portion was on the small side. I substituted the turkey for the Southern crispy chicken, which came with an additional charge, and honestly, it wasn't worth the upcharge. Overall, there were some good elements, especially the fresh orange juice and salad, but several details could have been better. Quick service and a nice seating setup, but the food and attention to the order left something to be desired.

Wonderful cozy find! Best breakfast-for-dinner ever…read more We stumbled upon this absolute gem on a freezing, rainy evening after an outdoor event, just looking for a warm bite to eat around dinner time. My partner found this spot while searching nearby, and oh how happy I am that he did! I had been craving blueberry pancakes for days and was so excited to have a rare breakfast-for-dinner treat. From the moment we walked in, the warmth of the place completely melted the cold away. We were greeted by a wonderful, incredibly kind waitress, and the atmosphere inside was just so cozy and comforting. There was a lovely mix of people having their supper, including a sweet family of seven eating dinner together at the table next to us. It just had that perfect, welcoming community feel. The menu was seriously impressive. My other half ordered the southern chicken sausage gravy dinner, and it was phenomenal! I got my blueberry pancakes- my absolute favorite - and they completely exceeded expectations. I also tried the lentil soup, which was packed with flavor. Honestly, I don't think you could have a bad meal here if you tried. Our waitress (the same lovely woman who greeted us) chatted with us for a bit and was just so delightful and attentive. I even spotted a rice pudding with strawberries and whipped cream on the dessert menu that looked right up my alley, but between my pancakes and stealing a few delicious bites of the chicken dinner, I was far too full this time around! As we left, I noticed the pretty flowers and the outdoor picnic tables. I'm sure this place absolutely hops on weekend mornings, but it was the perfect rainy evening escape for us. Thank you so much for your incredible hospitality-we are officially adding this to our regular rotation when we are in the area.

We loved everything about this place! Summertime is a great…read moreseason to explore places far and away especially rest for great food. ‍ As I was searching for farms and produce stands, I noticed this business and since I love pancakes here, there and everywhere, I planned a day away that included farm stands, backroad NJ scenic driving and fruity pancakes. Due to circumstances beyond my control, we arrived at noon on Thursday, breakfast ended at 11am and so we pivoted to lunch items that included a Boars Head cheesesteak, chips and pickle plus a really tasty cheeseburger . As we were leaving, my husband decided on a large chocolate peanut butter milkshake which he deemed awesome. (Thanks Todd for stepping in and making one) We stopped at our pre planned list of farm stands and headed home. Very next day, Friday, up at dawn to get a few chores out of the way so we could head out to Gronsky's for the day #2 breakfast deadline! I prefer sitting at the counter and watching their magician, Tyler, assemble the food for orders, crack open the eggs, drop the pancake batter in the proper corner and keep all meats aligned for the plates. He's the king of that kitchen and each one of those servers is the queen doing the hustle, bustle, slide to the left, back up and move forward like square dancers on the move. From the Taylor ham, provolone and fried egg sandwich on that FRESH Kaiser roll to the omelette with those delicious home fries and my PEACH PANCAKE . . . . all of it was their special take on breakfast served their way. Almost 50 years, folks! Prices are absolutely reasonable for how the food is prepared and presented, quality ingredients cooked according to diners' specifications. What more can you ask for? We'll be back for September POTM!!

Our Corvette club stopped by Gronsky's Milk House after our monthly Wednesday night cruise…read more Since we arrived after 2pm, only the ice cream menu was available. It was very busy when we got there, but they had three employees working between the walk-up window and the inside counter, so the line kept moving. There is plenty of seating both inside and outside, which made it easy for our group to find places to sit and enjoy our ice cream. Even with the crowd, the staff did a good job keeping up with the orders and everything moved along efficiently. If you're looking for a classic spot to grab some ice cream on a warm evening, Gronsky's is definitely worth a stop.
