Gary's Cafe is delicious, fast service and good portion sizes. I got the jersey benedict. The biscuits were soft, the eggs were cooked perfectly and the pork roll added the salty ness needed to pair with the hollendaise sauce. I got the hash brown option for the potatoes - you can get fries, hashbrowns or home fries. I liked the hash browns but my fiancé got the french fries and I would def want to get those in the future. Stumbled upon Gaby's while driving through the area and were happy we stopped in for lunch! I can't say my experience was similar to that of some of the less than ideal previous reviews. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and sat by the window within minutes. The restaurant was clean - including the rest room. Our waitress was great. We never felt like we were waiting to be helped and were excited about the large menu. Specifically the fact they serve breakfast all day although I ended up ordering the chicken salad club sandwich. The club was delicious (and huge!) and the fries were crispy. We enjoyed our time at Gaby's and look forward to visiting again to try out some of the other countless menu options! read more

Decided on this place because it was the only place we found nearby that didn't require a reservation on a Saturday. It's basically a diner. Nothing fancy. Extensive menu. Lots to choose from. It's definitely a family spot. Our server was nice. She made recommendations and was very attentive. The prices are decent, the food is basic, and the place is clean. What once was Ginny's, along NJ Route 12 on the way to Frenchtown, just next to the state police station now is the home of Gaby's Cafe. A charming roadside cafe that not only serves up Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner but also offers ice cream & coffee. We found this by chance on our way to Frenchtown and were excited to check it out. Inviting from the street with its clean exterior and bright umbrella covered tables we couldn't resist. The interior is decorated with florals and is cozy and comfortable. A ginormous menu has lots to choose from and excited and friendly staff were eager to serve. The owner was even working behind the counter and greeted us. (Always a nice touch) Our food was served with a smile and perfect temperature. The flavors were somewhat disappointing as I was expecting a "savory waffle" what was described on the menu as herb infused) but mine was just a basic breakfast waffle. The Cuban had all the flavors and textures of most and was enjoyable. I had to bump a star for the gnats in the windowsills and the inaccurate waffle description. Then another for the poorly maintained bathrooms. Missing towels and in desperate need of cleaning. I would definitely return when in the area to see growth and progress as well as to try out different menu items as there are MANY to choose from. read more

This is a shame.Its so close to home but ,really bad experience with my Daughter and two hot Grandsons! I had take my 10 and 6 yr olds to see if they wanted to go to camp. So after thought,a burger and a cone.Not accommodating.Service extremely poor. We ordered and asked if we could sit outside." Yes,we will bring your food" no number ,not seated at table? I went out and they sun was beating down on me,we were already ovet heated. The umbrella was closed,I was trying to set up a table for four.the umbrella was not in right and fell on my shoulder and heD!! Not a light weight umbrella,I had a bump for 7- days we thenbaskes if we could sit where my daughter could sit out of sun,on antibiotic. What a great place! I had a girl named Samantha take our table. She did an excellent job explaining to us what we got with whatever meal we would like. The food was fantastic! She came back and would ask if there was anything she could do for me. No doubt one of the best servers I've had in the last 20 years. If you go to Gaby's Cafe ask for Samantha! Bad experience this AM. Used to like Ginny's. Bottom line -staff does not care.Food- delivered wrong and then correct one was cold. Blamed everything is the dishwasher. Problem was not getting silverware- problem was that server never came back And other tables got silverware. No refill of coffee until complaint. Servers - not great read more

We have been here twice before for dinner and were disappointed both times. We decided to give it a try for lunch. We walked in and nobody acknowledged us so not off to a good start. My girls got chicken fingers and fries. They didn't care for the chicken fingers but loved the fries. I got the huevos rancheros. I am not sure why they would call it that. I have gotten huevos rancheros countless times at different places and it never looked like this. I ate it but it was very disappointing. read more

Good food with many items on the menu....... Something for everyone! Very clean and bright with tasteful decor plus it is "family friendly." I would have given it four stars but the service is "fair" with a bunch of high school kids working there hanging in the counter area looking at their phones who drop off the food and don't come around until you flag them down for your bill. I asked for a refresh on my ice tea and the server (very nice girl) said they don't give refills anymore so I asked her if they gave free refills on coffee and she said: "yes" so I replied: "doesn't coffee cost more than tea" and all I got was a blank stare........ Sadly this is poor business when they give you a glass filled with ice and a small (coffee cup) amount of tea. I love it that kids nowadays want to work however they need adult supervision and polishing. Give this place a try because the very food is very good but you have been warned about the service...... The place can get crowded at times. Good value and don't forget dessert! read more
