My truck was towed out of my apartment complex because they "didn't see" my parking pass. I found my pass tucked under the driver side seat. They work on commission so of course they played stupid when I asked why my pass was under my seat and of course they played stupid. They aren't an honest company. THEY STINK - If ZERO STARS was a choice - that's what they'd get - Triple A service request - request accepted!! - he will be there within 75 minutes -received driver en route notification (I'll leave his name out) - at the 50 minute mark - received a call from Triple A - he will be there 10-12 mins - checked tracking link they sent me for the driver - I can see he is 20 minutes away at the one hour mark - nearly 3 hours later and 3 phone calls NOTHING - last call to AAA put on hold for 9 minutes so she could Gaeta's dispatch and was told they don't know when their coming - TERRIBLE- I canceled the call - spoke with AAA - told them to never - ever again assign Gaeta's to a call for me - Luckily I don't need AAA service often - but over the years this has happened at least 3 other times to me and my family and friends with Gaeta's - they stink read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Had a flat tire yesterday. Called AAA who called Gaeta. Told me about an hour. After an hour I called to check the status and was informed that they came by and reported that there was no one in the car. Lie#1. Asked them to resend a driver who showed up another hour later. Guess what? No jack! Goes back to the station and says he will be right back. Lie # 2. I call after 1/2 hour dispatch says he had a personal issue and left. Do you think they called me? No. Back and forth - Finally After 4 YES 4 HOURS I get the tire changed and go home. They are the only game in the area. God help you if you need these chumps. read more

Called this morning to get an estimate. After giving her the to/from address for towing, she quoted me a range. I had already checked out the website and was impressed with what it said about its drivers' credentials. When I called back to schedule, she said it would take about 2 hours before a driver would be available. Less than 2 hours later, she called me back to say the driver was on his way. Alex, the driver was professional, personable and friendly. Rode with him to the dealership. All in all, it was a bright spot n an otherwise crappy situation. It's pretty simple: 1. Great gas prices; 2. Convenient locations. Both locations are easily accessible to W. Peabody, and cities north, travelling South down Rte 1, towards Boston. Gaeta's has always run a tight ship, so there's no nonsense, the people there know they're there to work. Gaeta's Shell also has an automotive repair garage and MA sticker inspection which is reviewed separately. Plus they also have a towing operation. Gaeta's been around "forever" and has always been there when I've needed them. The times that I've used them have always been positive and, living in the community for many years, I've only ever heard positive things about them. Beware!!! Not only did they show up to tow me with friends in the vehicle so we couldn't fit in the tow truck to go to the shell where they keep the keys... When I got to the Shell station along with my towed vehicle, I asked for my registration back and was denied "it stays with us". I asked where the vehicle would be located the next morning so I could gather my things out of the vehicle once I got a rental. I was told we can't give u the location is not disclosed and we would have to escort you. The next morning I get a rental after starting in a hotel across the street from the tow company. I show up to the Shell to be "escorted" to the undisclosed location. To be told to drive to the strip club a few miles away to find my vehicle. Then bring the keys back to this first location.. After the rediculous trips to get my key go to strip club to go in my car and finally return my key back to the first location, they tow my vehicle three days after my insurance request to the repair shop I had chosen. I get to the repair shop with my vehicle, to find that not only was everything missing that I did leave in the glove compartment (paperwork/ Yankee candle items/other items my own fault for leaving them) but the registration I was not allowed to have was now missing and no where to be found. Now I'm forced to pay for a replacement registration just so I can re-register in my new state one month later, on top of replacing the missing items from my vehicle. This accident turned into a nightmare and I recommend calling any other tow company. They also charged my insurance company a ridiculously high rate, thankfully I didn't have to pay myself. read more

I called AAA with a dead battery a few weeks ago. They sent a fleet vehicle the size of a tractor trailer and he was from AAA and could not start my car. A few days later I called AAA back and 2 boys from Gaeta's showed up. They had no problem starting it. They came quickly after I called and it was Memorial Day 7 pm perhaps. They didn't have my battery. I waited a week and called AAA back and they sent a fleet person out with a battery. I wanted to buy it through Gaeta's but I couldn't wait for it to be in stock. Due to the recent extreme cold my car, like many others, has been having issues. Long story short, I had to deal with Gaeta's and they have been horrible. 1. The first time I called, after 3 hours they said they came but they did not (nor did they call me on the phone number I provided them). They came after the second call and jumped my battery. 2. The nexy day my battery was dead I needed a tow, but the tow truck operater said he was unable to tow my car because of the ice around it. I accepted that explanation later that day when I saw a tow truck from a different company towing a car in a much icier part of the parking lot. 3. Today I got a third driver who was not a tow truck driver, despite the fact that I requested one (although he was very helpful, the only helpful person I have dealt with). He said my car could absolutely be towed and forwarded the case to another driver who said it would be 1-2 hours. After 3.5 hours I called to see what was going on and the woman who answered was rude and dismissive and said that they tried to come but couldn't access my parking lot. That is untrue as a Gatea's truck had already accessed it, on top of the other company's truck that I saw. Regardless, they should have called me to let me know, which they did not. This, on top of other bad experiences of friends and family with Gaeta's, is why I amwriting this review. I am a very kind and understanding person and have never written a bad review about a company, but Gaeta's takes the cake for being the worst company I've ever dealt with. read more

This review relates to some work I had done about a year or so ago. I spent 300 bucks on 3 coils and spark plugs, which is a good deal. 1 year later the coil in cylinder #6 died. Another mechanic, took the coil off and switched around to troubleshoot it. Turns out that one of the coils was bad. The coil was some piece of garbage with no brand on it. I probably drove 10,000 miles before it died. I am disappointed because the gas prices are great and the mechanic is pretty knowledgeable. I am just a little upset at the quality of the products placed in my vehicle. read more

These people are absolute con artists! They are a AAA towing company that told my mother that AAA would not cover the tow from their yard to my mechanic, I was not able to talk to them myself as i was in the accident and injured. They told her to take the car to Salem only 6 miles away would cost $150. They intimidated her and tried to take advantage of her. I called AAA the following morning and they said they would cover the tow and it would only cost me $9!! They were just trying to make a quick buck. What HAPPENED??? I used to love Gaeta's, and maybe they are still great if you need a tow or some repairs. But if you just want to pop in for their (very competitively priced) gas? Keep driving and go somewhere that they actually WANT your business. Twice now (and I wouldn't Yelp about one time) I've decided to pay cash, which increasingly feels like the safer choice these days. The "cashier" and her buds (fellow employees? vendors? permanent customers?) were so busy entertaining each other, that I had to wait several minutes for her to accept my money so I could pump some gas. When I thought I saw a pause and asked for my $20 on pump 6, she said "wait just a minute" and went back to whatever she was doing for whichever among the party must (might?) have been a customer. Like I said, this was the second time I was ignored and made to wait while trying to pay cash to get some gas, so sadly, I won't be back. read more

I'm giving two stars because they graciously fit me in to plug a flat tire on my new Infinity g37x on the fly.. gas attendent/dispatcher on that particular shift has always been a rock star when I go in .. but there have been other times, tonight included, where (usually a female) is behind the counter and they ignore you completely. Tonight, I popped in to make a quick cash transaction, because on previous occasions my credit/debit card was charged twice, they placed a hold on the amount in gas AND debited to take it out immediately. If you spent 20, expect to have 20 more tied up for a few days (40). This evening, I walked in as one of their attendants answered the phone as a dispatcher for their towing company. I would have appreciated a quick nod of acknowledgement after a few minutes, but she was taking notes, so I silently accepted that she was busy..but once off the phone, she looked right at me with attitude and went straight to talking with the guys in the shop, as if I wasn't there. I'm guessing someone would feel the right to act like that if they were in good, because they had the job out of relational or personal circumstance.. because some of the shop workers that I recognized didn't call her attention back to me, or stop her from the conversation she started with them, to redirect her help to me. If they weren't in the location that they're in, this place would never do what it does. It's too bad really..the mechanics are pretty nice, but between attendents that nod off on day shifts, and others with wretched chips on their shoulders..this place? You should pass! read more

Called a tow truck. They arrived, jumped started my car but didn't tie down the loose connection to the battery. Then the guy just left. I started my car... got about 10 feet and stalled. Standing by was a friend and the owner of the local car wash who volunteered to jump me. They tied the post down and I made it home with no problems. After replacing the battery the car runs fine. After several phone calls and emails I have gotten nowhere with them. I don't feel as though I should have to pay for inadequate service. I called them because they are a known company in this area with a good reputation. I was shocked to see them not want to own up to their mistake. I will not be calling them again for towing services. UPDATE: I filed a BBB complaint which they immediately responded to with a personal note and check refunding my money. The whole thing has left a bad taste in my mouth. It wasn't all about the money. I don't doubt that the owner is a nice guy. I just have no idea why they didn't deal with this sooner. Bringing their rating up to 2 stars. I'd like to think this experience was an unusual one for this company. read more

I have got several inspections at this station both for my motorcycles and cars. My most recent experience will not bring me back there unless I run out of gas on the highway. I saw some unfamiliar tall mechanic in the garage as my vehicle was being inspected. I was watching him attempt to dis-assemble a drive shaft- he was hammering it with a big hammer and using an air hammer as well. He then got mad and slammed the tools down two feet from me and walked out of the garage. When he came back from his hissy fit he then said something about me wearing sandals in the garage.I thought he was joking. Then he said it wasn't a request. This really rubbed me the wrong way- He then starts to use an acetylene torch on the part and it starts to flame up pop and smoke(under the gas tank of a truck on the lift- two feet from me- sitting on wood 4x4's...)---- So as im leaving I noticed the worst mechanic i have ever seen hadn't even removed the snap rings----- sorry guys- wont ever be coming back here read more

I called triple A to get my car towed and they told me that Gaeta was close so they sent their tow truck to come. The truck came very slow. The driver was very rude and unfriendly. I was very cold and he did not invite me to sit in the truck. He just had me stand there shaking, waiting for the car to be done being towed. Then I was told to wait till Monday to call because they would be closed on Sunday. When I called Monday, They tried to act like they could not find my car. The lady who answered the phone was extremely rude and tried to rush me off of the phone. Then she told me that I needed to call the next day because they had not even looked at my car yet. I said alright and she hung up quickly. Then I called back the next day and a slightly nicer woman answered and said, "Let me check with the mechanic." When she came back to the phone, she informed me that they would begin looking at the car and call me back with a quote. I was appalled, because it took them days to even look at my car. They eventually called me back with a ridiculously high quote so I got my car towed out of there and brought to a different mechanic. Let's just say that I will never have anything done by this company ever again! read more
