Nearby a fav viet comfort food place (Hien Thành) I frequent, Da Viên stood. I had seen it before but was usually too full to stop by. Well today was the day and they did not disappoint. I told the cashier it was my first time there so I needed guidance on recommendations. I knew I wanted a power punch yet flavorful coffee. She suggested the egg cream or ube cream and I was also eyeing their signature marble drip but she said it was lighter bc there was more milk. She asked if I wanted a sampling, uh YES!! She gave me 2 clean separate spoons so I could savor and discern my selection. The space is thoughtfully curated, modern and clean. Staff is friendly and helpful, service great! It was packed so immediately I knew it had to be good. And the customers were right, the ube cream coffee was magnificent. Suffice to say, I'm coming back!!

HIGH. I love this place! I've been coming here for years for the sandwiches and the eggrolls. I love the French baguettes that they use for their sandwiches, it is chewy and freshly made. Warm it up in the oven for about 5 minutes and you have one crusty bread that is to die for. Well, I have to admit every time I come here I always see people in line waiting for their cup of coffee. I never really bothered asking people if the coffee is really good or asking the friend who recommended this place to me if this place is a Vietnamese Starbucks but I surely know her dad drives here from Irvine to get his cup of coffee almost everyday. One day, I had a hangover from partying the night before and I had to pick-up some sandwiches and eggrolls for my mom; I decided to take the plunge. I ordered the "coffee" ... If you are looking for the BEST and perfect Pate Chaud, this is a must try place. They have two types: chicken and pork. Both are amazing, the meat inside were moist and tasty, the thin flaky crust outside was buttery, if you keep it right, it can last for days. All you have to do is reheated or put in a toaster.
