Okay, so I've been here several times and always enjoyed it. Normally good Greek food and nice wine list. But I went last night for New Year's Eve and I was thoroughly disappointed. The roasted leg of lamb was way over cooked, the calamari and salad and roasted potatoes were under (not) seasoned. The wine (most expensive Syrah), needed to breathe for at least an hour to make it drinkable. All in all - really disappointed. I would have given it 1 star for last night, but given the positive experiences in previous visited, I think it evens out to 3 stars. I want to love this place, but I think I'll go somewhere else next time. read more

Hands down, the food here is delicious. Top quality and excellent presentation. We've dined here 3 or 4 times now and the food is definitely the highlight. On our last visit, we started with a trio of dips. Hummus, tzaziki and (I think) skordalia. They were all delicious. Hummus was silky, tzaziki had a nice bite from the garlic and the skordalia was pleasantly spicy. I do wish it was served with more pita bread though. For entrees, we had the pasta carbonara with chicken and the gyro platter. The portions seem small, but they are so well prepared and such high quality that it compensates for the price to size ratio. Both entrees are great. On a previous visit, I tried the kabobs and those are certainly worth trying as well. The Greek beers are really nice, try a Mythos or Aris. Both are nice and tasty. I am updating an earlier review. I initially went there when they had just opened. I have since been back several times and I will say it is probably my favorite local restaurant. Always great service, always fantastic food. Wine Wednesday is the best time to go where you can get any bottle of wine for half price. I really enjoy their steaks as well as the lamb. Showed up there at 9:20pm, knowing they close at 10 pm. They welcomed us right in, and waited for us to be ready to order. No rush. [We ordered quickly.] It couldn't have been more than 10 minutes and we got our meals. The lamb chops were delicious from the first bite. Flavorful, juicy, well cooked, but not too much, just perfect. Their coffee as always is the BEST - and the creamed spinach = yummy. Asparagus - also perfect. The server was attentive but gave us lots of space. We got our fill, and requested doggie bags. I recently visited Galazio's for about the fourth time. The ambiance was great - the server was great - and the food was great. My complaint - I ordered Calamari and asked for marinara sauce since I thought they forgot to serve sauce with Calamari - it eventually arrived and I was charged $2.00 for a saucer of sauce. I have never been in a restaurant that charged for sauce with Calamari. Second - and for this I am not certain - I ordered a Filet Mignon and would bet my life it was a Tenderloin. This was our first time eating at Galazio's Restaurant and it was the best food and service. First, our server, Jordan, was fantastic! He was a kind and fun person who we enjoyed interacting with. The food was out of this world. I had the pot roast special and it just melted in my mouth. The vegetables were excellent and the whipped sweet potatoes with pecans was delicious. My wife had the shrimp kabobs, which was outstanding. We both had a salad, mine was a Caesar salad and my wife had a Mediterranean salad which both were delicious. Came here for my wedding anniversary because we are usually fans of Galazio. They did not have our favorite appetizer, which was sad. We both ordered the Brazilian Steak medium. The wait was very long and finally we got our steaks. They were so well done that they were tough and dry. My Husband's mashed potatoes were ice cold. We sent the food back. The waitress offered to have the food remade, but we were too turned off to stay any longer. We headed over to Bollywood Masala and had a wonderful meal there. This was my second visit to Galazio's. I enjoyed this visit. I had the Shrimp kabob platter and had sides of rice and broccoli/asparagus along with the pita bread. My husband had the lamb chop kabob along with the rice, asparagus and pita bread. My shrimp may have been a little over cooked because they were a little hard to get out the shell but they were still good. My husband's lamb chops were delicious. I was in town and came across this restaurant driving to my hotel. Boy, am I glad I stopped! The ambiance was magnificent and the food was even better! Greek salad with tons of fresh vegetables, tomatoes, capers, cucumbers, olives, green peppers, and of course, feta crumbles with the lightest, yet most flavorful dressing ever! I paired my salad with the feta skaras appetizer which was heavenly! The perfect companion was the glass of Argentinian Conquista Malbec wine. Great service from Ricardo! He even packed our boxes for us. My hubby and I ordered Calamari and the Greek salad with gyro to start. Both super good. We also received dinner rolls with the traditional olive oil dip with a sweet surprise mixed in (probably balsamic Vinegar). We ordered The Carbonera and the Lamb ad our main entrees with a side of creamed spinach. The carbonera was flavorful, you could really taste the ham and the sauce wasn't the bland creamy sauce the some places serve. Instead you could tell high quality ingredients were used. I've eaten at Galazio before and the dine-in service is good. However, the carryout service is terrible. For paying the price that you pay, there is no reason why you should serve the meal in a foam container (the one served at a food truck or family picnics). The foam plate was burned on the top from the steam. My food was soggy. Tiny burnt holes were from evaporation (steam) that caused a leak. I made my food undesirable. Please invest in proper to-go containers. It would be a waste to continue serving food like that. Proper containers for such a nice restaurants goes a long way. It shows you appreciate your customer. I really wanted to get a refund but it's too much of a drive back and forth. Unfair but lesson learned. read more

My husband and I cane here for our anniversary on 4-20-19. I really wanted some Greek food and miss our old spots in Alexandria (we didn't want to drive far). Our server was terrible, we felt like we were an inconvenience, especially since we didnt order alcohol. We both ordered the gyro platter, and for place bilked as authentic Greek, what a disappointment. While edible there was nothing remotely close the Greek food we are used to. The meat was a pressed meat product, there was no feta, and while we went for dinner, we definitely got a lunch portion. Avoid this place and save yourself some money (it was way over priced). We are locals and come here when we want a really good meal and It never disappoints! Tonight we celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary and had the Brazilian cut of steak with mashed potatoes and Greek salad! The steak was so tender and delicious, and the Greek salad was authentic (Which means no lettuce) and every bit delicious!! We had the chocolate mousse cake and coffee for dessert and the coffee came in cute individual carafes and was freshly brewed!! Our server was attentive without being overbearing. My husband and I came here for a date night. We are new to the area and we were not that impressed. My husband had the lobster tail ravioli and said it was really good but the portion size of 5 raviolis for $29 was not enough to satisfy his appetite. I had the beef kabobs for $24 and the steak was very poor quality. The cook was too well done and i could barely chew it. The rice was bland. I was skeptical to come here with all the mixed reviews. We get there at 7:20 order shortly after then entrees gets to the table 40 mins later. I get the right order, the server screws up his order. We were told the manager just left, 2nd red flag. 1) I had the chicken kebab with rice and asparagus, it was good, a few pieces of chicken wasn't edible but overall still pretty good and seasoned. 2) 7 mins later his order of Passitio comes out and its cold in the middle, now we are pissed and I have already finished my meal. 3) The server had the nerve to bring me us the check after she ruined our entire dining experience and we had to have the bartender call the manager to resolve this matter accordingly- No bueno. A lot of reviews on this restaurant state that the food is good or decent, the food and drink pricing is high for the area, and the service is lacking; I totally agree. The atmosphere was pleasant with jazz playing to set the tone, exposed brick and wood all over the place, but they really need to work on empowering and training their staff on the purpose of dining and customer service. Staff was very accommodating allowing us plenty of time to talk. For food, we chose to order several appetizers instead of two meals. Everything was delicious! I'm giving this restaurant a "great" review because the food is outstanding, but I've only been there once because the meal I had came to nearly $50 so I haven't been back. I wish the meal could have been about $25-$30 because I'd be able to frequent it several times a year but, now that I'm writing this review, I'm going to go there again when my tax refund arrives! I have eaten at Galazio three times now and every time it gets better and better. The staff are engaging and fun while maintaining professional service. We have tried many items on the menu and have been completely impressed with them all. Like another commenter before me, I do not sugar coat my opinions. Unlike him, I am a huge fan! I too like Napoli and am a somewhat regular fixture there. However, while the two resraurants may share some dishes, they are in two different galaxies. Galazio is definitely more upscale than most restaurants in our area and I am thankful. I can drive a mere 15 minutes from home and get great food with hospitality that is hard to find around here. (By the way, the $45 steak was dry aged at the restaurant and is a whopping 21oz. Not just any steak i'd say.) If you are in Southern Maryland and want a nice meal in a nice place served by nice people, Galazio is the place to go. read more

5 stars across the board! The food, service, and the ambiance is outstanding. The baklava is to die for I've never had better. Kudos to the head chef Julio for making great authentic Greek food. The wine selection is off the chart. My personal favorite Naousa Imiglykos. For those that are not big Greek food fans there are some amazing pasta dishes that add an Italian flair. With a few changes, I will review again and I'll be watching for them as I really like the place and love to have any non-chain option for Southern Maryland dining. The food: very good quality food with a few exceptions. The caprese is excellent, probably one of the best I've had. Most of the appetizers are equally amazing. Feta Flambé...mmmm. The full menu however is mediocre at best on selection. It is an extremely small menu, which is fine, but it should have more variance of entree selections. Happy to see traditional Greek dishes, but maybe add a few daily specials or fresh items. Soups: both amazing. Cream Of Crab and traditional avgolemono. The calamari- yuck! Tender but over breaded, and not fresh and no sauce, just lemon but I did ask for tomato sauce, and the sauce tasted great. Greek salad was great too. The drinks: good wine list, not many by the glass, which is ok because both times a bottle was consumed by my parties. Have not had any other bar drinks so I cannot vouch for their effectiveness. Haha. The service: absolutely exceptional on both occasions. NO KIDS MENU. I am ok with that but as a first-time diner there with several kids in my party aged 10-12, a half-entree option would have been nice considering the cost. I ordered them full size entrees. When I saw the entree size, no way would that have even touched my kids hunger in a half-portion. Everything is small. Again, I'm okay with that and QUALITY over QUANTITY is always a bonus, but kids dine here. It's better to get some kids menu offerings, or add pizza. Both times I have dined, the restaurant has been less than busy. Both weekdays so I assume they are busier on the weekends. Just a suggestion: add a brick oven. They would have more weekday clientele where parents can go for a nice glass of wine and appetizer and kids can get a pizza.
