Oh Gallagher's, I'm am so happy I live so close to you, especially on weekends when you get my happy and drunk on bottomless mimosas. I was there on a Sunday not too long ago for breakfast and bottomless mimosas (for $6 + entree). Well, we waited nearly an hour for our food, but during that time never did I reach the bottom of my drink. And believe me, I was drinking it every chance I got. Granted, it ended up more like bottomless champagne than mimosas, as the orange juice was nowhere to be found. We asked our server, "um, can we get some orange juice with this too?" She looked very confused for a moment because most people don't ask for more OJ and just take the champagne. But she still got some for us... just that one time, though. I never give reviews but I have to show love to my favorite bar and overall place to get out to. The Good= McCool Turkey burger and fries with steak sauce. Beer. Cool owner and bar tenders. Nice waitresses (I'm antisocial so if I say their nice believe me they are) and over all great atmosphere. My favorite times to go are for the UFC fights. The bad= I DONT LIVE RIGHT NEXT TOO IT! Food is yummy!! Ambiance is loud, but FUN!! The servers are awesome!!! So very friendly!!! Drinks can come out slow if it's busy (isn't that accurate everywhere?). Try the corned beef!!! Well I have to say I had a blast there! Extremely wonderful waitresses! And loved a band called SHEER LUST that played there. The sound is a little sketchy but the ambience makes up for anything you're missing music wise! Great location, tons of parking in a parking lot on the Gallagher side, and across the street! And don't give up on trying to find a place, Google hasn't quite gotten it together yet on their location! The crowd that hangs out there are a lot of locals and they are a lot of fun to hang around. I went to see the ufc fight because it was free and they didn't disappoint. Arrived to find hardly anyone there, so I was able to sit wherever I wanted. Waitress came by took my drink & food order and didn't disappoint. I will be coming back again soon. read more

We come here all the time. Erin & ciaran (owners) always take good care of us. Today we came for breakfast on a Saturday, usually PACKED but today was nicely mellow. You can never go wrong with their bottomless mimosas on the weekends (until 2pm) and their bloodys are great! Today our server was Tiffany, super sweet and attentive. I got the huevos Mexicanos, spicy and delicious! Friends got Irish breakfasts, which is truly the best here. Their Irish sausage, bacon and pudding is crazy good! Burgers are awesome, I can't think of much here that I haven't tried and didn't love, it's all awesome. Used to be a neighborhood staple for my friends, but honestly hard to drink mimosas when the smell of the bathroom makes you sick to your stomach. Also was my favorite spot for football games, until my most recent visit. Called an hour and a half prior to kick off to confirm they would be playing my game and also to see if it was possible to reserve the sound for the game I wanted to watch. I was told that was no problem at all. When I arrived, I let the waitress know about the phone call only to be told that they wouldn't be accommodating their promise to me. If I had known that ahead of time, I would have happily found another place to watch the game. They offered nothing but to comp our non-drunken drinks and apologize for the "miscommunication". Needless to say, I'll be watching my games elsewhere going forward. read more

Good food, but yes the service is really slow. This is a bar that happens to have food, not a restaurant with full bar. If you are willing to go up to the bar and get your drinks, and in no hurry for your food that you'll like this place. They have some Irish food and music, a lot of the menu is mexican. Outdoor seating for smokers and dog bringers. There is no parking, which may be why everyone seems to have a dog, they have walked over from home. Good beer selection, full bar, try the bread pudding, and check your food while the waitress is till there, they tend to be wrong and missing for loooong periods. I had a great dinner at Gallagher's and it was totally unexpected, to say the least. I know the bad luck that the building has had with attracting and keeping customers, including me, over the past but after a night like we had, I just had to yelp about it... I had the fish and chips with the split pea soup. I judge a good Irish restaurant by the Shepherd's pie and the fish and chips and this order of fish and chips were stellar. Period, point blank. Two large, moist, fresh pieces of cod, batter-to-fish ratio was perfect! Oh and I just can't wait to address that lovely pea soup...Je-sus! It was not too thick as European chowders and soups tend to become as they cross the Pond and become Americanized...It was lovely and the ham was smoked and made the soup oh so savory! The battle axe had the Bangers and Mash with beans and those sausages were what made me say, "okay self, you've been officially satisfied to the point of a good yelp, so yelp you must!" The salad that accompanied the Bangers was very nice, too...It wasn't some old crappy iceberg lettuce with no nutritional value, oh no! It was a nice bed of greens with veggies in it and get this...corn! So all I'm sayin' is, 1) drink specials are SLAMMIN. 2) food= outta sight 3) service was on point 4) If I didn't have finals to study for, I'd have gone there tonight... Word. read more

The only reason to go is that they have booze and it's close to where my friends and I live. The food is not good. I have given it several tries and continue to be lured back by booze and location. Whenever I try to order something to change my opinion of the food, it is just bad. I wish them the best and it could be perfect if they had a smaller, better menu of real pub food. Easy going vibe. Cheap drinks. Good food. How can you go wrong? Most well drinks are around $5, much cheaper than any bars on 2nd or in downtown. Also, the food is not bad. They have tater tots!!! They have a pretty eclectic menu and it definitely tastes better than regular bar food. But I do think their buffalo wings, jalapeno poppers and other traditional bar food items taste better than things like their curry dish. Irish nachos are a good choice too. Gather a team of 6 or less together to do Pub Trivia on Wednesday nights to compete for cash or try the bottomless mimosas on a Saturday morning. Every since my old roommate introduced us to this deal it has become part of our weekly tradition to have dinner at Gallagher's every Tuesday night! This is a great little pub. Every time I've been there the mood was light and friendly with good customers all around. It's close to my bf's house so its a solid date spot. 9 times out of 10 they let you seat yourself. They have a weird system that seams to work: usually we have two people to take our drink/food order. I'm not sure if the person who takes out drink order is maybe just a helper but i can dig it. My favorite thing is their tots! make sure to get their sweet chili sauce to accompany them! Burger wise i recently tried the stuffed burger. It's stuffed with american cheese! YUM!!! every occasion to date has been a good fun time. i recommend as long as your a laid back personality. They're easy going people there so if you want the server at your table every 3 seconds, this isn't the spot for you. (frankly, I cant stand restaurants like that. Give me SPACE! haha) read more

Very nice crowd of people that go there at night. My best friend was performing and i had a fat tire that was just awesome. Five bucks for a beer that night. Also enjoyed a few white russians, they were very well made. I didn't get a chance to eat the food but i looked around and some looked ok and some not so hot. I spoke with a regular and she said that the food was ok and had been better before. Nice staff, very big place. There are lot's of TVs and nice atmosphere. The waitresses are always pacing which is great. The out side is cool, have a smoke and your drink. I might drop by when i'm around. read more

Amazing service and great food. Bottomless Mamosa's for less than $10 until 2pm huge bonus. the French dip is actually real sliced roast beef which was amazing and the au jux had great flavor. I absolutely LOVE GALLAGHER'S!! I came in with my sister and grandson for a late lunch before the fireworks yesterday and the place was pretty dead. It was my grandson's birthday who is also Autistic and we saw the Autistic support on the window which made us want to come in a bit more. so we told our waitress if there was anything she could do for him since it was his birthday, She said of course and told us after our meal she would bring him something special. We had the fish and chips which was amazing, but my grandson on the other hand was being a bit out of control with his food. I was becoming embarrassed but the waitress reassured me she worked with Autistic children in the past she totally understood, we ended up talking with the waitress forever my grandson loved her asking about her tattoos if he could have wear her star headband it was an over all enjoyable experience. Now my grandson keeps asking when are we going to go back and see the waitress with the flower on her arm. read more

This place is pretty cool. I've only been here two times. It's not my usual type of bar, but it's chill. The only reason why I'm not giving it more stars is because I'm not a beer drinker....I'm more of a whiskey drinker, so there wasn't much of a selection for me besides a whisky and coke. The first time I went was on St. Patrick's day. There was a fee to get in...wasn't really worth it in my opinion as I couldn't enjoy my usual old fashioned. I'm not sure if there's a fee every night or just that night. They had a live band, I personally wasn't vibing with it. I've came in the day for their bottomless mimosas. You get what you pay for. I believe the bottomless mimosas were about $7 but you have to buy a meal first. The quality of the mimosas wasn't the best. AGAIN, it was only $7. Their sandwiches are good. I'd probably rate that 4 stars. It also came with a side of fries. Would I go again? Sure but it would most likely be for brunch and I'd order a non alcoholic beverage next time. read more

I would probably give this 4.5 if that was an option :) we went last night for the first time, first things first, we were thrilled that happy hour went on til 7pm instead of 5 or 6. Yay! Had no idea what to order, didn't want anything too heavy or would have tried the irish stew, next time... Started with the happy hour irish fries for $3, yum, the bacon makes the dish! :) then decided on the reuben (no 1000) for me and a patty melt for the mrs. I was a bit hesitant to order this as some places it either has no flavor or too much fat. This was HEAVENLY, the meat was flavorful & juicy, NOT fatty at all. It was perfect. The right amount of kraut too. DEF returning not only for the bottomless mimosas on the weekends but for this tasty sammi! Def a must if you like the reubens.. The mrs said the patty melt was yummy too, cheesy & perf. i'll admit i'm sentimental about gallagher's. i love the location, i love the bottomless mimosas, and i love wiling away the better part of a saturday afternoon here enjoying both, with my girls. i'll be patronizing this joint till i don't (and i'd probably only stop if i found myself unable to find anyone to go with, which doesn't seem likely to happen any time soon), for those reasons. but to be fair to the uninitiated - the service really does suck. when i wrote my original review two years ago, my experience from the service side looked like this: sit down, a (usually pleasant, if not downright gregarious) server immediately brings menus and asks for drink orders. we order mimosas, which appear within moments and never get more than half-empty before refilled. other people show up to join our group, and server is always there immediately to take the new orders, which always come out promptly. food comes out timely, as well. right? now, and for the last year at least, it's more like: sit down. a guardedly polite at best (downright surly at worst) server appears in a few minutes and brings menus. takes drink orders. usually about 15 to 20 minutes later, drinks arrive, and server flutters off before taking food orders. twenty or thirty minutes after THAT, with glasses completely empty and new friends having arrived, server will finally reappear to take orders (not bothering to disguise annoyance that more folks have shown up). once orders have been turned into the kitchen, then the server will finally come back to refill mimosa glasses or take additional orders. (recent experience: my party of seven was there for three hours - and the reason we were there so long is because a solid half of it was spent waiting for service, and then waiting for what we ordered to arrive. to wit, in that three hours, my drink was refilled exactly three times, standing empty most of the time i was there. when my friend, who wasn't going the mimosa route, ordered a bloody mary (after waiting 20 minutes for our server to come back by), it took 15 minutes to come out. ) the food still comes out timely, but after that, service slows down exponentially. the best way to ensure a drink refill is to flag a server down, but if you do that, you run the risk of being scowled at, and for table service to slow even MORE as a result. and don't even consider stepping up to the bar once you've established you're at a table, unless you want to be made to feel dirty and stupid for daring to do so. i still love the joint, but i think that's because of my friends and the location, both of which serve to distract me from service i'd never otherwise abide. (i also tend to pre-drink, since i know i'll generally be there for at least 25 minutes before my first drink is served.) every time i go i tip about 25% in the hopes next time will be better. so far, my roi is negligible. moral of the story: it's a great place to hang on a weekend afternoon, so long as you enjoy your friends enough that they neutralize the bad service. read more

The drinks are okay and the food is okay as well. They serve some good low priced drinks. I went there with a friend and the bar was full cause of fight night. The servers were friendly along with the security guards. I'd recommend this place if you are in this part of town and looking for some good place to watch the fight with your friends. This place always delivers! Went to watch the Super Bowl, had a table for the 3 of us, food was good, server was attentive, decent prices, clean bathrooms, always plenty of street parking nearby. The Tvs everywhere are awesome. I did think it was kinda strange there were kids in the bar, but aside from that and our food taking a while to come out, it was fun. The staff was very friendly, the timing was great. Not too busy. The meal was good. The service wasn't very good. We sat for 10 min before anyone even realized we had been sitting there. Maybe they should seat you rather seat yourself. We ordered a side of tater totes, came out 20 min later after we've already finished eating. Uh we're finished and full now - why would we want these now? Lol oh and to get our ticket it was the longest wait. Oh and they take forever to clean up the other tables too after someone's left. Love this place. I was stuck in the LBC for a few days and ended up going here for 1 lunch and 2 dinners and many cocktails. I met the owner, Ciaran, very cool Irish dude. The wait staff is great, the bartender, Erin was great. I rate my Irish pubs on mostly Fish and Chips and Reubens. Both were awesome!!! The only complaint about the whole place was the blue cheese dressing was a bit runny. I saw 2 bands play, one was a sublime cover band and the other one was just a total cover band. Both were fun not too loud and everyone seemed to enjoy them. If you are around, definetly go. read more

Wishing I could give 3.5 stars. This is a great local spot, with good specials each night, 2-for-1 burgers on Tuesday , and $8 pitcher 'Thirsty Thursdays' are my favs. I find the food to be pretty competent - my 2 favorite dishes here are the Carlos Gallagher burger (with Bacon) - honestly this may be my favorite burger of all time, and if you get it make sure you do so with the onion rings. My other favorite is on the opposite end of things - their seared Ahi appetizer and Garlic Naan make for a delicious light dinner. Only 2 things about this place I don't like. One, when they have live music, it bounces off the walls of this medium-sized venue with such ferocity as to make it impossible to hear your own thought, let alone have a dinner conversation. The second issue I have is that the outdoor smoking area must be crossed to get in the front door, and if you are not a smoker there is simply no more disgusting smell in the world. That aside, the food is good, and the Guinness is cold.. what more could one want from an Irish pub? read more

Took a nice bike ride one day for the first time here with my room mate and a couple friends. Been wanting to check this place out since its down the street from where I live. We came on a weeknight so the place was not busy at all. The set up includes everything you can associate with the Irish all on display on the ceilings and along the walls and the bartenders are pretty nice. The price is good during happy hour, a pint of beer ranges from $3-$4 and pitchers are $8. I do want to come back to try the food and the Sunday brunch that includes all-you-can-drink mimosas. Big, spacious and airy, this is a pleasant place to take a group of hungry friends who aren't that picky over their menu selections but do love a good pint of beer and a good baseball game going on. I've had the burger here - they are a bit over done and salty but decent burgers. Another time for some reason I felt like being British and ordered the curry and rice....sort of bland but interesting. Is that a reflection of Irish tastebuds? The Irish nachos are always a crowd pleaser though. You really can't mess up a potato and god forbid a pub advertising itself as an Irish pub mess up the potato....that'd be sad. I really really like to come here and drink up on Snake Bites...Harp's and Wyder's Pear Cider [substituted for Apple Cider] and just watch a hockey game or basketball game. Who doesn't like bottomless mimosas (with purchase of an entree) on Saturday or Sunday morning? I mean come on! I came here on a Saturday morning with some girlfriends after my 22nd birthday and those "mimosas (more like champagne with a slash of orange juice...just the way I like it!) were great post-party idea. It felt great to sit on the patio soakin up the sun with drinks and good food. I ordered the grilled cheese....pretty basic but it sounded delicious at the time. All of my friend's food looked great, and the service was really friendly. I have to get back to Gallagher's for an evening happy hour...they have some good specials and I want to try more of the food.
