It has that warm, lively feel that makes you want to hang out and enjoy your time instead of rushing through the meal. We did a wine flight to start, which was a fun way to try a few different pours, and everything paired really well with dinner. The highlight for me was the whole roasted fish. Crispy on the outside, super tender inside, and really clean, fresh flavor. Simple but done really well. Service was on point too -- friendly, attentive, and helpful without hovering. Definitely a spot I'd come back to and one I'd recommend if you're in Charlotte and want a solid dinner with great drinks and atmosphere.

It's a cute restaurant with church pews, open space and a view directly into the kitchen. Cory was our waiter and he was nice and made great recommendations with it being our first time visiting. The food was excellent from the appetizer through dessert! Because it was our birthdays, Cory gave us complimentary macarons that were chef kiss just like our meal! We tried the branzino, pot roast, broccoli, potatoes and the dip for an appetizer! Everything was a 10/10 in did. However, our food took forever to come. I know it wasn't a server issues and seems to be related more to how they prepare the food directly in the wood ovens.

I had the stone fruit drink and it was so good. We had chicken fried lobster and rock island calamari and shrimp. It was all perfection. There was a waygu special that I had to try. We had mushrooms, au gratin potatoes, and corn crème brûlée as our sides. We have already looked up copy cat recipes for the corn crème brûlée. I need to have this over and over again. For dessert the table split the red velvet bread pudding (we were stuffed) and I immediately started searching for copy cat recipes for that. It was decadent. Service was impeccable. The restaurant was elegant and dark and romantic inside. This place is a must if you are looking for fine dining in Charlotte.

They really made us feel comfortable and at home. The food was good, we enjoyed it, but honestly the experience is what made it special. The ambiance and overall vibe... it was just a good time. If you go, make sure you ask for April. She was great. And Ken Smith is doing an excellent job running things, you can tell by how everything flows. We ordered a mix of a lot of things but I will talk about the Oak Burger. Steakhouse Wedge, Truffle Fries & Salmon. Our waitress was overwhelmed and was not new but could use a bit more training on how to share & offer specials to everyone at the table if they are available. The oak burger. Although you appreciate a big burger (especially when it's $20) but you also want to be able to bite it. Just my 2 cents, make it more flat & round instead of thick and round. The flavor was good but because of how it's served, it was really hard to eat when you are dressed up. Even cutting it with a knife wasn't a good option. One of the specials was the Salmon. I was shocked this was served at this restaurant. It was thin with the skin still on it and the skin wasn't even crispy. I've purchased a better piece of salmon FROZEN at Costco! It was a huge disappointment. The drinks were great but when someone orders a drink with a big ice rock, share that you get a pour and a half so there is no question later. The absolute best thing on the menu was the Oak chocolate cake & the Steakhouse wedge salad! I could have ordered 2 wedge salads and cocktails and been fine! I can't say enough about the wedge salad. We also got the Candied beat salad. The 2 of those salads mixed, incredible. I will share that the only reason I gave it 3 stars and not less was the salad and cake. Everything else was average and without a doubt the salmon should be taken off the menu if that's what they plan to serve to guests at that price point.

We had a reservation for a Monday dinner on my husband's birthday, which happened to also be 1/2 priced wine day (glasses or bottles up to $40). Maybe it was because of the affordable wine or the World Cup on TV, but the place was surprisingly bumpin'. We came with our toddler, and the staff were super friendly with her. She really enjoyed snacking on the complimentary crackers and cheese spread. My husband and I decided to share the dinner special for 2, which is a 10 oz filet mignon, 2 lobster tails, and 4 sides for $178. A delicious splurge! For our sides, we chose a Caesar salad, cheesy fried potatoes, garlic mashed potatoes, and balsamic brussels sprouts. The steak was so tender and savory. Absolutely loved it. Definitely one of the best steaks I've had in the city! After our meal, our server brought a complimentary dessert, a layered mousse cake, served in a martini cake with a candle to celebrate my husband's birthday. Such a nice surprise, and the perfect end to a special family meal. Here's to 70+ more years of BnB in CLT!

Unfortunately, this Restaurant Week visit was nothing like the Eddie V's I remembered. I dined solo at the bar and actually had to ask for the Restaurant Week menu. I chose the upgraded lobster bisque (+$5) and Chilean sea bass (+$10), looking forward to treating myself. I rarely splurge on a nice dinner, so this was something I had been excited about all day. The food was mixed. The lobster bisque was flavorful, although the amount of lobster was surprisingly small. The mashed potatoes were outstanding, and the asparagus was very good. The Chilean sea bass was cooked well but lacked seasoning and wasn't the memorable entrée I expected. The biggest disappointment, however, was the service. The restaurant was less than half full during my visit, so the extended delays were especially surprising. I waited an unusually long time for my entrée while guests who arrived after me were served first. Another surprise was that the only restroom I was directed to required going down to the basement, which was difficult with my mobility issues (I need my knee replaced). I would encourage the restaurant to make it clearer whether there is an accessible restroom available on the main floor, as this could be challenging for many guests. After another long wait for dessert, I asked to have my crème brûlée boxed because the delays meant I would now be walking back to my hotel after dark. I explained that I had intentionally walked there for exercise and had planned to walk back before dark. The response I received was simply, "Just call an Uber." That completely missed the point. I wasn't asking for transportation--I was explaining how the delays had changed my evening. To add to the confusion, I was given two desserts instead of the one I requested. While I appreciate the gesture if it was intended that way, it reinforced the feeling that no one was really listening. What disappointed me most wasn't simply the wait. It was the complete lack of service recovery. No sincere apology, no acknowledgment of how long I'd waited, and no effort to make the experience feel special. I've always thought of Eddie V's as one of Charlotte's premier dining experiences. That's exactly why this visit was so disappointing. I sincerely hope this was an isolated experience because I'd like to remember Eddie V's for the exceptional restaurant it has been in the past.

My husband and I were seated near a table that spent almost the entire evening talking down to one of the servers -- the taller guy with the tattoos down his left arm. At one point I genuinely felt embarrassed for the people at that table because of how rude and entitled they were acting in public. Meanwhile, this server kept handling everything with patience and a good attitude when most people probably would've walked away.
