Shrimp and grits, complimentary pastry basket
    Mona M.

Enjoyed a delicious brunch with my girlfriends. We were a group of 10, seated. Off to the side so that we could chat and laugh together. Myrtle was our server. She was friendly and funny. I ordered the crab cakes Benedict but I don't care for poached eggs so I subbed with grits and had fresh fruit as a side. The two crab cakes were served over fried green tomatoes. There was visible claw meat and not too much breading. The grits were lovely. Good enough to just order a side. The fruit was fresh and plentiful. The friend next to me gored the açaí bowl, the one across enjoyed the shrimp and grits and the friend on my other side enjoyed the meatless sausage and the carrot and ginger juice. The strawberry lemonade was a hit

I've been here for brunch before many years ago, and decided to go back and give it a try for lunch. Overall, I enjoyed my chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries. The chicken sandwich could of used a little more aioli and been a little less crispy. The sandwich was slightly overcooked and lacked any spice. I'll definitely go back here though.

Wagu burger from the bar menu

This was my second time eating at the restaurant vs ordering room service (2024 was my first time) we enjoyed both dinner and brunch here and thoroughly enjoyed both meals. For dinner we asked for the bar menu because we weren't really in the mood for anything on the regular restaurant menu and they had no problem providing us with the separate menu. Dinner was also served with fresh bread along with a trio of butter(paprika, cheddar jalapeño and regular) and breakfast you get a basket of pastries like croissants, muffins, and little fruit filled pastries. The drinks were strong and delicious and our servers were fantastic. The chicken sandwich at dinner was delicious but I think I woild have enjoyed it more had I added like lettuce and tomato to it(my problem not theirs) and the wagu burger was delicious and cooked perfectly. The French fries were delicious and the kids all loved them. One of our littles didn't want a full meal just French fries and berries and they were both a nice serving. Breakfast was delicious but I do wish for $18 the French toast would come with something like a side of fruit or something but I get it. All in all we love coming here and will be back again for our yearly stay!

Bucatini Pasta: eggplant, fig, pomegranate seed, goat cheese, walnut cream

We tried their dinner and brunch! Both meals were SO good. For dinner they serve you a trio of butters to pair with fresh bread. They are all really good! One is packed with herbs, another is coated in a paprika, and the third is their house butter. For an appetizer we got the roasted cauliflower served over tahini tzatziki, and topped with toasted pistachios. I opted for the bucatini pasta for my entree and it ended up having super unique sweet flavor that was delicious. Ingredients included roasted eggplant, goat cheese, walnut cream, figs, and pomegranate seed. What a combo right? It works! My husband got the Joyce Chicken Roulade. It had a glazed chestnut puree, poultry sauce, artichoke and truffle. Very flavorful! I highly recommend. I got a cocktail and my husband got a beer. My drink was delicious. They serve you a lemon/lime to add to your water after you sit down, which was a nice touch. The next morning we came back for breakfast. I got a glass of champagne and one of their fun juice combinations. I choose the Pineapple, Cucumber, Celery, Kale, Juice. It was good and I felt healthy. For breakfast I got the chorizo hash which was out of this world! I would get it again. The tortilla on top was so good. My husband got focaccia tuna sandwich. The focaccia bread was insanely tender and delicious. The tuna also had good texture and flavor. I wish you could opt to get it served warm as that would level up the flavor. I would also like to just make it a melt by adding cheese. I can't wait to be back in the area as I would absolutely go for brunch again and I will rebook here for dinner anytime I stay at the hotel too. The highlight of our visit was for sure the amazing food, but the ambiance is right behind it. The rooms are decked out in art, tall booths, large tables, gorgeous seating, and an epic bar.

Great staff. Great menu. Great management. I ate here about 6x on my 3 day visit. Breakfast staff was excellent and very friendly. I relaxed and worked all day and they made sure all my needs were met the whole day. Dinner staff was great also. Menu is great and the bar menu has some hidden gems also. Been coming here for brunch as they have a nice selection of contemporary breakfast. Today's service was slow, but my breakfast food was what I would have expected in terms of taste and quality. This place has easy parking at the back of Ballantyne hotel.

This restaurant is located in the Ballantyne Hotel. Upscale restaurant but you can get away with casual dress. Prices are for sure upscale. It was my birthday weekend and we stayed at the hotel so we were able to charge our food to our room. Delicious meal but I was a little disappointed by my 'on the house' bday treat. It was a slice of red velvet cake that was rather small and nothing to rave over. I appreciated it for sure but probably would have rather ordered a dessert off the menu. The decor of the restaurant is beautiful and the art work is outstanding. Intimate setting, great for a special occasion, date night. Service was great.

Ambiance: upscale restaurant with full bar. The area was separated between more-for-dining (tables, brighter, closer to kitchen) and more-for-drink (sofas, high tables, dimmed lights, closer to bar). Not full on a weekend dinner, but recommend to make reservations if possible. The food tasted great except it was a bit too salty for a few of them. Truffle fries - which I did not take photo - worth ordering as side to share. The in-house made ice cream was impressive. Reason for not five stars: - the wait between appetizer and entree was too long. The server was keen on cleaning up the table so there was like 20 minutes empty table from when server collected all appetizer plates to we got entrees. - entree price a bit too high given the portion.

It has that warm, lively feel that makes you want to hang out and enjoy your time instead of rushing through the meal. We did a wine flight to start, which was a fun way to try a few different pours, and everything paired really well with dinner. The highlight for me was the whole roasted fish. Crispy on the outside, super tender inside, and really clean, fresh flavor. Simple but done really well. Service was on point too -- friendly, attentive, and helpful without hovering. They even still have the 120 year old pews! If you ask your server, you are likely to hear the entire story of the place. It's pretty amazing. They recently received a Michelin recommendation and it's totally deserved. It's a buffet, but most of the hot food is actually served by a person which is something that I particularly appreciate. (I really don't like touching the handles of spoons that hundreds of people have touched.) Some of the stuff is self serve but not any of the hot dishes. Absolutely everything I tried was outstanding. Like everything. There are a few things that they consider "pass around" which means that they are brought over to you by a server at random intervals. For everything else, you just help yourself. I went with a friend of mine who has a deep appreciation for a southern food. He was absolutely amazed. Honestly, I can't think of a better place to have chosen to eat in a short time I had in Charlotte. I've attached a picture of the menu. I tried just about everything. I wasn't disappointed in a single thing, and I was completely wowed by many of them. The servers were wonderful. Very friendly and very willing to talk to us about the history and the food items that were there. Highest recommendation!

You know you're walking into a place that has really paid attention to the details from the moment you walk the door. We like to sit at the bar where it's a little more laid back although we've had dinner in the dinning room several times with friends. The tables in the back by the kitchen are the way to go if you're looking for something more intimate. I like to get a dirty martini and my wife get champagne. We get the Torched Scallops with caviar and the hamachi for appetizers and for dinner we usually split an entree. Everything really is next level although my favorite is the seabass. The service is outstanding. Everyone acknowledges you with a smile and "good evening, sir" as you walk past. It may not sound like much but these are the extra touches that make the place so special. We ordered a mix of a lot of things but I will talk about the Oak Burger. Steakhouse Wedge, Truffle Fries & Salmon. Our waitress was overwhelmed and was not new but could use a bit more training on how to share & offer specials to everyone at the table if they are available. The oak burger. Although you appreciate a big burger (especially when it's $20) but you also want to be able to bite it. Just my 2 cents, make it more flat & round instead of thick and round. The flavor was good but because of how it's served, it was really hard to eat when you are dressed up. Even cutting it with a knife wasn't a good option. One of the specials was the Salmon. I was shocked this was served at this restaurant. It was thin with the skin still on it and the skin wasn't even crispy. I've purchased a better piece of salmon FROZEN at Costco! It was a huge disappointment. The drinks were great but when someone orders a drink with a big ice rock, share that you get a pour and a half so there is no question later. The absolute best thing on the menu was the Oak chocolate cake & the Steakhouse wedge salad! I could have ordered 2 wedge salads and cocktails and been fine! I can't say enough about the wedge salad. We also got the Candied beat salad. The 2 of those salads mixed, incredible. I will share that the only reason I gave it 3 stars and not less was the salad and cake. Everything else was average and without a doubt the salmon should be taken off the menu if that's what they plan to serve to guests at that price point.
