Regular scheduled maintenance September 6, 2022 cost $232.33, includes a faulty brake light bulb replacement problem that I had since I owNed my 2013 Ford Escap. Ford never got to the cause of the issue just kept replacing the same bulb once or twice a year. Check engine light came on so I took it to Galpin Ford immediately. I also advised them of a fluid leak, possible transmission fluid December 22, 2022. Service diagnosis includes the diagnosis fee of 155.00, replacement of gasket, thermostat, 2 hoses, valve, clamp and rear brakes for a total of $2363.33 on December 29, 2022. Time without a vehicle 7 days Check engine light came on again. Check in to Ford on January 10. I had to insist that Cameron, service manager waive the diagnosis fee because I was having the same problem. I insisted that he tell me the correct diagnosis of my vehicle so I can make an informed decision of trading in or repair. He stated don't drive car and get transmission fixed ASAP. He estimates between 3k to 8 k to repair transmission on January 11, 2023. Time without vehicle 2 days. Left vehicle covered to weight option without driving January 11, through February 10, 2023. Took to Advanced Transmission to repair February 10 got car back on March 16, 2023. The bill $3504.50. Time without vehicle 36 days. Car ran great, then completely died on HWY 69 on March 30, was towed to Advanced Transmission then to Galpin Ford because of engine codes ( multiple). On April 10, 2023 I was advised by service that my motor died and even if I wanted to repair the motor for over 12 k, he said he had another customer waiting for one under warranty for over two month. Time without a vehicle 11 days. Total loss on car since September 6, 2022 $6100.16. Plus another $1000.00 for four new tires in November 2022 gives a total loss of $7100.16. Total time without any vehicle 56 days. In summary 1. Ford vehicles don't last. My mileage 77,500. 2. Service doesn't stand behind their work. Ford doesn't stand behind their product. 3. See the limited warranty for time and mikes. Because Ford can't afford to warranty their junk! Too bad Ford, I came from a long line of Ford customers! You were the FIRST and best, but you are now last in my book! Build better products or you won't be around for another century maybe not even a decade! read more

Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. The crew has changed, and so has the atmosphere. This new crew (at the smaller building) leaves a lot to be improved upon. Some of the staff is clueless about the vehicles they are selling. If you have questions, do what I did, and Google the answers right there. Placing a full price order, the saleswoman couldn't get the paperwork right. You have the feeling that they could never be satisfied which how much they make... Asked if they contribute to the local community (like sponsor a softball team...) and I got the deer in the headlights look! Taking my business to Phoenix. read more

Management was unacceptable and uncooperative. This dealership features an unorganized sales team that lacks the ability to process out of state transactions. I was working on getting the funding and driving down to the dealership and he literally sold the vehicle out from under us. When questioned about his unwillingness to secure our deal so we could make the drive to Galpin Ford- Prescott from Las Vegas, he hung up the phone on us. WoW this guy personifies all the classic car dealer stereotypes. Not the captain I would want at the helm of ship. Went here with the intention of purchasing a new truck for my wife. My wife went by herself while I was on shift to look at one that they had available with the trim level she was interested in. She was working with the first salesman, who was questioning my wife about if she was married, if she was happily married, compliments about her body, and other inappropriate questions to the point my wife asked to have another salesman help her and answer some questions she had about the truck. The next day I went in near the end of business hours and worked with Baldo, who was professional, knowledgeable, and respectful. We started working on numbers and he told us we'd have to wait for the next day to speak with his supervisor, Ernesto, to try to agree on a price for our trade-in. The next day we met Ernesto. We talked for almost three minutes, and then rudely stated in front of Baldo, "we're not going to sell you a truck" and turned away and walked away from us. Without saying another word. I shook Baldos hand and apologized and told him "I'm sorry but even if the price we talked about was what we agreed on, I would not buy it because of how Ernesto does business". I then thanked him for his time, and unfortunately now I will need to drive down to Phoenix to buy a new truck. As much as I'd love to do business in my hometown, and support local businesses and local economy, Ernesto made my decision to take my business to the big city. I would not recommend this dealership to anybody. Definitely don't come here if you are alone as a female, and don't let your wives or daughters come here unless accompanied by a male. Between the perverted salesman, and the disrespectful supervisor, it's unfortunate that a small town business is so poorly represented. Mr. Or Mrs Galpin, I doubt you've built such a successful business on poor customer service values. I hope you move Baldo up in the company because he was the only gentleman within our encounter that knew how to treat a customer correctly. And if any other dealerships are reading this review and looking to hire a great employee, Baldo is your guy! *** We ended up buying our new truck from Peoria Ford, got a 2024 instead of the new 2023 we're looking at originally. Took Lincoln in for oil change and they left oil filler cap on front seat of car.,if you value your vehicle take the extra time to drive to Phoenix. Sanderson is the best place and right off the I-17 and bell. No appointment needed and service is professional and your car comes out looking new read more

I wouldn't normally buy tires from a dealership but I priced a set of Falken RT-1 tires at Galpin for my HD 4WD pickup at just over $1600 with tax and a 3 year Ford road hazard warranty. Discount Tire priced the same set at $2170. Jerry ordered the tires and Wyatt was my service writer at Galpin RV in Dewey. Great customer care by these guys and surprisingly competitive pricing! read more

We recently bought a 2024 Maverick truck from Galpin. Our Sales Associate was Dariusz who I had contacted after seeing an internet ad for a Hybrid. The truck was immaculate and our buying experience was very satisfactory. Dariusz did not pressure us or try to up sell us. A really bad customer experience. I have tried twice to make a service appointment and can't get in to have a recall corrected. It's not an emergency so I don't mind an appointment a few weeks out. But, the online appointment system doesn't work - a service advisor told me this and they should know. So, why is it even offered? Then I made an appointment directly with a service advisor and that appointment was also not recorded. So far I talked to Brad in service and Michelle at the front desk. No resolution there. It would be great to talk to a manager so I could provide detail, but today they aren't available. I'm going to find another Ford dealer (further away) that actually wants my business. read more

I had the spark plugs replaced and the transmission serviced at Galpin, well guess what I developed a miss in the engine had it checked out by another mechanic and found number 8 cylinder plug was hand tight and broken. Also had the transmission serviced and according to the new mechanic the oil is very dirty, with supposedly 20 thousand miles. I don't trust these people and will not return for service or buy a vehicle from them as well. read more

if you live in Prescott and considering buying a Ford, be forewarned that the service department is the worst I have ever dealt with and they are the only Ford dealer in the area. This is my second issue with them all stemming from recalls on my Explorer. had a Tuesday morning appointment for what was supposed to a 1 day job, now it is Saturday and I am without my vehicle despite assurances that I could pick it up on Saturday. needless to say I will getting rid of my Ford as I cannot rely in this dealerships service department. read more

$2,113.46 for a repair. Drove it one day out of Galpin Ford and the same reason for bringing it in, it still doesn't work. Same problem I had before paying $2,113.46 is the same problem that exists now! I should have never paid them, now I need to tow it back to them and while talking to them over the phone, they said that they will help me with the cost! What Cost? Nothing was done to it! I made an appointment for "The Works" (oil change, tire rotation, inspection) and a coolant flush, as well as a recall that required a "reflash" of the computer for emissions on my 2013 F350. I arrived early for a 9AM appointment and was told about 2 hours. I confirmed that the tires would be rotated. Three hours later they wrapped it up and brought the truck out. I had marked the tires and could tell that they had not been rotated. The service advisor spoke with the mechanic who told him they in fact did not rotate the tires because they could not safely balance it on the rack, but they did not mention it until he asked. ???? A Ford truck at a Ford dealer where they had serviced the truck before and allegedly rotated the tires previously. They took the truck back in and another hour later brought it back with tires rotated. I should not have been surprised when I got home to find they had not adjusted the tire pressure and I had 80 lbs in the front tires and 65 lbs in the rear tires. This could have been a disaster if i hadn't checked myself before hooking up my 5th wheel and leaving on our trip. This is not just a safety concern, but also a serious question as to their integrity and ethics. Very disconcerting to say the least. You shouldn't have to doubt and double check a Ford dealer's service center, but maybe you need to. read more

They checked the vehicle in after waiting for an hour they said they couldn't check rhe power steering recall. I had an appointment for an oil change at 11:00 a couple weeks ago. They called and offered to pick my car up for the service. My car arrived there shortly after 10:00. I called at 3:30 and it still hadn't been done. I was told that orders had been placed on top of mine and no one bothered to check appointment times. It was delivered back to me at 5:00 pm. I called again and said what was the point of having an appointment if you were not going to honor it. I was supposed to have a 5 point inspection with that oil change which should have included checking my air filter. My car wasn't driving as it should and I asked my husband to check the air filter. It was filthy! They could have seen that if they just pulled off the cover. I complained to corporate but never heard a word from them or Galpin. I will never go back there again! I have been having problem with my 2018 Platinum F350 since I purchased it with loss of air in tires - at an alarming rate. After repeated returns to the dealer where I put rebased the vehicle, and countless lies about the work done, GalPin Ford took my truck, gave me a loaner, and fixed my problem which was under warranty. Third strike. Service booked turned up and then told I would have to rebook Because they could not do it then Several months later Paid and ordered for 2 tires. Booked fitting and alignment Turned up. Booked in. 2 hours later they came and told me after they took of my wheels they found out the tires were no longer at Galpin. Was told they would call me Friday to confirm fitting of tires on Monday No call rang Monday. Rang and was Told tires had not arrived. Cancelled the deal. Was told refund would be processed Went in Wednesday afternoon and after various staff checked it out found refund had not been processed Strike three! No more!!!!! read more

Took my truck in for service this week and as always, I left disappointed in the lack of customer service this dealership displays. Not to mention having to watch an employee at the service department counter eating his Taco Bell lunch. Maybe they should build an employee break room. The bright side is I took my wife's Toyota to Findley for service and Galpin should go over and see how they run an excellent service department. We had a 2:30 appointment and we're out by 3:15. Galpin our appointment was at 2:00pm and took two hours for an oil change. read more

Scheduled an 8:30 am oil change for my Mazda on 5/26/23. Called to check on status at 2:45 pm when I hadn't heard back. Was told it was just pulled in and would be 30-45 mins. Over an hour later I showed up and was told it was not yet in the shop. So 7 hours after my 8:30 appointment they hadn't even pulled my car in. I asked for the keys back and left. Thanks for wasting my entire day and doing nothing. I will never go back to this clown show. read more

I drove all the way to Galpin Ford in Prescott from Buckeye to purchase a new cargo van. After laying down $39k in cash for the van the salesman asked if I wanted some gas put in the vehicle. I said that would be great as I have 150 miles to drive back home. I was amazed that these people went and put a half tank worth of gas in the vehicle after I just paid them $39k Now that is going to cost you way more in lost referrals than it would have cost to just fill the tank with gas. read more

Service, HA! To get an appointment for TWO (2) factory recalls we had to wait a week to get a spot. Five (5) working days later our truck had not been touched. No evaluation, no nothing......I asked why my truck wasn't ready. Was told they have to order parts. I asked if that had been done. Was told they didn't have the time to look at it yet. Huh? Whose game is this? After 2 weeks of nothing done, I drove my truck away. read more

Stay away! Take your vehicle literally ANYWHERE else. There are reasons why people tell you not to go to a dealership for repairs, and this service department is the perfect example. I brought my truck in for a check-engine alert. They never even looked at it the day of my appointment. I had to continue to contact them for information and updates. Late on the second day I was told it was rodent damage. The damage seemed to grow day by day over the next WEEK, along with the parts and costs. When I asked about the seemingly excessive parts needed, I was given the highly professional response "well, you know, there's a lot of chewing in there." They had my truck for FOUR WEEKS. They ordered wrong parts. Even when they got the right ones in, they couldn't get them back together well enough to get the truck to start. They eventually thought it might be a good idea to bring in a SECOND "certified" mechanic to look at it. I expressed my concern over the mounting parts and labor costs, saying "it was operational when I brought it in here - I shouldn't have to pay for the extra time because of your mistakes." By week three I was so frustrated I contacted the company president, who actually tried to help and "discounted" the final repair cost. I knew that my warranty didn't cover rodent damage, but stupidly assumed my insurance didn't as well. I was getting desperate because of the rising costs, and called my insurance agent anyway. Yes, I was covered, and what do you know - my truck was finished before the insurance adjustor could get to the dealership. So I had to pay out-of-pocket to get the truck back and wait on the adjustor's approval for reimbursement. What he found was multiple overcharges and ordering excess parts. The insurance estimate came in almost $1200 less than the already "discounted" total I had paid. During his investigation, someone in the service dept. told the adjustor that they thought I was a cash customer! After my deductible and the insurance reimbursement, I have still paid $1171 more than I should have to the dealership. The adjustor tells me he's never seen this level of fraud (my word, not his), and has encouraged me to take whatever action I can to get the $1171 the dealership owes me. I have sent the insurance estimate to the Service manager. Spoken with him on the phone and left a message with the president. The service manager said he saw maybe a couple things he needed to look at, but in general disagreed with the estimate and said he'd get back to me. So far nothing from them. Don't just believe me - take a look at all the other reviews complaining about poor customer service, long waits for repairs, overcharging, repairs charged but never actually completed, etc. etc. I wish I would've read them first. That's what happens when you trust a dealership service department who is untrustworthy. Save yourself the misery - go somewhere else. read more

I scheduled an appointment for an oil change. I showed up 10 minutes early and expected to out of there in about half an hour. It took just shy of 2 hours. For a frickin oil change. Nice staff, but way, way too long. This was the second time I went there for maintenance and the second time it took forever. Not sure if they are understaffed, unorganized or just uncaring. I spent 40 years in automotive management. My last job was at a large Mercedes Benz dealership in a metro area. We guaranteed 30 minute oil changes for walk-in customers. We averaged about 23 minutes. Two hours is rediculous. If you plan to have service work done at this dealership, ask for a ride home, or take a book and plan on finishing it. read more

I Went in to see if I could get an offer on my vehicle, I approached a sales associate but he did not bother to get up from his desk to introduce himself, I proceeded to ask if he would be willing to make an offer on my vehicle, but instead of showing any willing attitude to go outside and look at it, his first question out of his mouth was "what do you want for it" I replied with I would be open to hear an offer" his next reply was well if your betting on blue book value that's irrelevant here" after processing what i just heard I immediately took the reply as not interested in doing any business And left. lousy sales team, service department tends to be hit or miss. I appreciated the call and concern. My point of view is only: Is this how any customer should be treated? Mixed experience between sales (poor) and service (excellent). We bought a new '15 Mazda 3, had a so-so sales experience. Wanted to buy a '20 Mazda 3 with AWD. Salesman was completely un-knowledgeable, didn't even know how to look up color availability on Mazda's site until I showed him how. Price he tried to quote me was list price for a car that had an extra cost paint color that we hadn't specified. Told us the '20 cars were months away. We walked; called a dealer in the Valley who told us that the '19 Mazda 3s were identical to the '20s. That's what we bought. Too bad the Galpin salesman didn't know that because we would have preferred to buy at a home-town business. On the other hand, service at Galpin has been excellent. They did all the servicing for our '15--car was ready on-time, price was reasonable, service reps were knowledgeable and courteous. Brought our '19 to Galpin for two warranty items, and had the same excellent experience. Will continue to use them for service rather than go to the dealership where we bought it. read more

Went to the dealer for service and to have my tailgate fixed on a 2017 f250, the service was performed it took 4 hours, they never fixed the tailgate. so a simple service took 4 hours, when i paid for the service i was told my lug nuts were swelling and will need to be replaced. only problem they were replaced at the last service at a cost of over $200.00. While i was waitng i heard them upsale other people on the same problem. WHAT A SCAM!!!! read more

We received a call this morning from Galpin Ford.  A brand new 2022 Lincoln Corsair was delivered to Galpin and they wondered if we were still in the market for this car.  The offer extended over the phone was at MSRP. Mr. Galpin, Joe and Lowell extended sincere apologies for the experience we had and we were told the leadership at Galpin went over the reviews posted with their resources this morning on the 24th.  Including the feedback from those of you who contributed to platforms we shared this unfortunate chain of events with Galpin on the 19th  of January, 2022. Thank you very much for taking the time to contribute and using your voices with us.  We continue to read your postings and every word shared is treasured and important to acknowledge.  This is an opportunity for all of us to grow, let go and move on, to listen to our inner compass and invest in the community who invests in you or to choose otherwise.  We are so very grateful for your feedback.  God Bless You! We are working on an important project for our country and humanity.  We have traveled thousands of miles in a truck or a small car and have done work internationally and locally. As noted earlier, we prefer to purchase and extend locally to all people working in our community. We purchased the Corsair they called about this morning.  There was no back and forth, we had no unpleasantries.  It is a beautiful car and we are very excited to own it and to hit the road again soon.  Lowell and Joe could not have been more pleasant to our family today. We would like to give Galpin credit for considering these reviews from the community and making a decision to reconsider working with us as originally expected.  We hope that they take these reviews to heart for the long term.  We see how difficult it is for a small dealer to compete with the larger markets and this is true for all smaller businesses.  We have found that integrity goes a long way for our own intentions, and it something we live by. Thank you to the Mr. Galpin, Joe and Lowell.  Together, we have worked out a solution that makes it possible for our journeys and extensions to others become a bit more comfortable, and that makes us better resources for those we serve. If you want to be ripped off, definitely come here. They told me $160 was all I had to pay to replace the sliding door handle in my van. $60 for the part and $100 for labor. I returned 2 days later after the part arrived. A mechanic spent 10 minutes installing the handle. They charged me ANOTHER $100! I've disputed the charge with Visa and reported them to Ford Corp. I initially saw my service manager Cody. I never saw him again. read more

UPDATE...I went to Service Dept with my used Mazda from somewhere else (ahem!) I knew it needed work & thought a Mazda dealer may be the best. I was quoted $1500+ I was told by friends to go to Fast Lane in PV. They said Galpin missed many important things that were cheap AND it was all done for almost half!!! To be fair, ALL Dealerships are notorious for being way more & sure enough!!! read more

I have purchased propane twice from this facility. Both times they came quickly after I pushed the service button. Both times I had the pleasure of Ron helping me. I am disabled and he had no proble loading my tank in my vehicle, and he even ran inside for me to run my card. Ill be coming here everytime to get my propane. Ron was great. read more

CLASSIC BAIT AND SWITCH I responded to an ad and spoke with one of the managers. I told him clearly what I had to bring to the table. After going over some details on the phone, he invited me to come down to the Prescott office. When I did, I met with him and another manager. Upon arrival I learned what they were offering was completely a different deal than what was advertised. I advised them I was very clear about the ad and what I was bringing to the table in detail, and in reality they were offering me something completely different than what was advertised. This is classic "bait and switch" and car dealers wonder why they are one of the least respected businesses in existence? A mistake is one thing - this was entirely intentional on their part. This was simply a tactic to get me in the door. Obviously I left and never followed up. Any chance they had at my dealings is long gone. So sad that 'professionals' choose to conduct business in this manner. Think I'm going to tell five friends about this? The funny part - They'll probably try and respond to this review posting a phony helpful reply to try to clear the air. Don't fall for it, this is good old fashioned car dealer scam tactics dressed in a budget suit and tie. read more
