I brought my 2019 in for an update to the PCM as it as at -AB, per my scanner that reads the SW version from the PCM on the car. -AB represents the version in the 2019/20 timeframe. Was told that my SW is upto date despite a Service Action advising JLR dealer of an update to fix a coolant actuator sensor reading. When I asked the Service Advisor what level they determined I am at as latest is a few revisions beyond -AB, I am told that the don't, can't, or won't tell me what I'm at. Other that its up to date. This update addresses a error code that has put the car into limp mode. A basic tenant of any SW update is first understanding what level you are are, so as far as I am concerned Galpin was not being transparent with me and I can't phathom why. read more

I travel outside of Los Angeles to visit Galpin Jaguar for my service needs. I purchased my Jaguar in 2019. Visited a few local dealerships and realized that the best one was in Venice. I had a different surface advisor the first year and he was wonderful but once they transferred me to Robert S. I've been a loyal client ever since. You guys need to give this man a raise. I'm only going to Galpin Jaguar because of him. He's so helpful and always gets back to me. He's the best service advisor I've ever had and actually makes me want to get another jaguar because of him. I went to the dealer (first time) with a concern about my brakes - when at high speeds they shudder through the steering wheel and chatgpt (apologies) tells me that is a brake rotor issue. I was "patted on the head" when I arrived (yes I"m a woman) and told there was nothing wrong with my brakes because people drive their whole lives with brakes like that. I"m still shocked a dealer would say that but verbatim, that is what I was told. I have zero confidence in this dealership and am also losing a lot of confidence in Jaguar. Its too bad. This review is long overdue. A year ago I purchased my used BMW I3 racks from Galpin Jaguar / Land Rover in Van Nuys. It was just before interest rate hikes and the rush for used electric cars. Keith Slater was my salesperson who helped me all through the process. No, this wasn't my first car purchase by any means. I had been researching an i3 for 6 months. My brother had one I'd been using for over a year, but I was moving out of town so I needed my own. I called to let Keith know I was coming out to see the car so he would have it ready for me to test drive. He greeted me as soon as I arrived, and though he did not have to "sell" as I was very familiar with the car, he did go over everything that had been done to the car since they had it, went over the Carfax, and gave me a good deal that I was happy with. Paperwork is never fun, but he made it as enjoyable as possible and ran through it as quickly as we could. He was very friendly, and professional, but not your typical car salesperson. He was more on the quiet side, which I liked. He wasn't pushy, he let me make my decision, answered my questions, and didn't try to pressure me into purchasing the car. If I could afford either a new Jaguar or a Land Rover, I definitely would purchase from Keith! I highly recommend Galpin as a dealership, and with its high Yelp ratings, I know why. I had an amazing service experience at Galpin Jaguar the last 7 years and even wrote a 5 star review for them five years ago here on Yelp! I have taken 3 of my cars there with an amazing service rep named Brian Avazian who is no longer with the company. Recently my car had a coolant leak, and I had to take it in. The service rep Edmond began quoting me prices without even LOOKING at my car, let alone running diagnostics. After spending $3500 for other service needs 9k miles before it was due (the rep performed my 96k miles service at 88k miles) effectively upselling me on what was identified as a $14 clip replacement. Fine. My car got a service early... but no less than two days after picking my car up the coolant was low again and I could not drive my car. It was obvious a leak had been missed, which seems crazy after the full service i just had a few days before. My car then had to be towed back in for even more work and another $1000 bill. I'm sharing my disappointment with Galpin Jaguar in allowing service reps to act like salesmen, instead of someone who actually cares about me or my car. Performing unnecessary services way in advance to rack up a bill, quoting prices before inspection, and all while not fixing the problem the car came in for is not what I expect at Jaguar. Needless to say I no longer believe Galpin has good intentions in how they treat customers and I no longer trust them to service my car. read more

1st of all, I want to start by saying how amazing Justin Permijo was. He literally rolled out the red carpet for me after being mistreated and racially profiled at Mercedes in West Covina. I literally wasted an entire evevning, gas and time at that dealership. Can you imagine car shopping before the holidays to get into a bidding war, with Millennials who know absoulutely nothing about customer service and hospitality. So pissed!!!! Disapointed and driving from LA in rush hour traffic. Just to learn the car you wanted was already sold! I found the exact same color and interior and a newer model Lexus on the internet. The next day I immediatlty called Galpin Jaguar right before closing and getting off work. Justin stayed late. Allowed me to test drive. I gave him my senerio and he assured me not to worry. I was on a time crunch being in a rental and had to drive off with my own vehicle ASAP. Well the next day was Christmas so I waited 24 hours and Justin took time out of his personal life to assit me on his off day. Needless to say, I drove off in the car of my dreams. Made an appointment over a month ago, told them I need a loaner because I live 30 miles away. Get there and he tells me no loaners are available at 9am! He told me to get in before 10 and there wouldn't be an issue. No car, won't help, acts as if it's my fault. Worst customer service I've had in decades, not sure how this guy still has a job. Absolutely wasted nearly 3 hours of my morning for nothing. HORRIBLE DEALER SERVICE EXPERIENCE My i-Pace had to be towed into the dealer for a "Gearbox Fault" which made it undrivable. I bought my i-Pace at Galpin in Van Nuys and they had serviced it well so I had it towed there as they knew my vehicle. It was a Saturday and their service center was closed until Monday. Monday comes and I talk to my service advisor and he tells me that he is going to get it diagnosed. At the end of the day, I check in and he lets me know that they are going to download the data and should have an answer in the morning (Tuesday). Tuesday comes and I ping him for the answer. He calls me to tell me that they have to replace the wiring harness (which given the other posts on the forum, should have been the expected diagnosis.) He then says the part could take a week to get in stock (maybe less) and that the service is a four day job. Unbelievable! But what can I do. He assures me the part will be ordered that day and that he'll give me an ETA for when it arrives and that they will get started on the car as soon as the parts arrive. I don't hear from him with the expected time, so I ping him again the next day and he gives me good news. The parts have come in and they will get started on my car in the morning (Thursday morning). We then have a discussion about the length of the repair. I tell him I've since seen the Technical Bulletin from JLR on this issue and I know it is an 11 hour job. He hadn't seen the Bulletin so we go back and forth about the parts numbers, he tells me he sees it's a 9 hour job. I assume from Topix. Anyway, I rest easier knowing that my car will be done, maybe by Friday but likely by Monday. ... So far so good. Just before 4 pm on Friday, I give my service advisor a call to see how the progress is. He doesn't pick up, but as I am on hold for voicemail, another service advisor calls to tell me that my regular service advisor will be on vacation next week and that he will be taking care of me and that my car should be ready to start repairs ON TUESDAY! I tell him that my regular advisor promised me that it would be started the day before our call and that I was expecting that it might get done the on Friday, not first start repairs they day after it reasonably should be finished. He then tells me something that causes me to lose my mind. He tells me "I don't know if you know this, but Galpin is opening its Land Rover dealership this weekend and we had 200 cars to get ready." Like I said, I lost it. I told him that my car had been there since Saturday and I didn't care that the dealer had its own cars to get ready, that wasn't my problem. They had promised to get my car fixed and that they were going to start on Thursday not the following Tuesday. I then asked to speak to the service manager. He transferred me to the service manager, who did not pick up. I left him a voicemail message. That was 4 pm yesterday. I still have not heard back form him. I guess the service manager takes off early on Fridays and doesn't return call on the weekends. I don't know how JLR let's this happen given that they charge premium prices for their cars. This is not what I expect from a service department for a luxury brand or from any brand of car. read more

First off, I'd give 5 stars if it were based solely off of the customer service that I received from Robert Sardariani, but since its not, 3 stars. The wait at the service dept is horrible. No one even ackowledged me for about 30 min. I literally had to get out of my car to go find someone. They really need to add more people to the service/valet area. Anywho, I had to get a loaner car which was a Lincoln. It was excellent!!! I'd have to admit that it drove better than my Jag! Yikes. I'll probably try another jag dealership because this one gave me too much anxiety and its 40 minutes from my house. Kudos to Robert though. read more

But when I called they found out I was dropping off a lease, suddenly they become less helpful and don't take in cars on the weekend. Which is funny because they didn't even let me get to the part where I wanted a new lease. UPDATE: Called Jaguar Corporate. Scheduled a meeting to talk about it Monday for their official stance on dealerships taking in leases. But so far I'm told Jaguar Dealerships don't have to take in your lease on weekends. It depends on the dealer and their level of customer service. But I'd think twice before dealing with someone who makes such a simple lease swap so difficult. read more

John Alavazo in the service department has been amazing[such an asset to the company as customer service is just as important in the service department as it is in the sales department IMO] since I've had to bring my Epace in for mechanical issues more than I would've liked to he has made each time an "enjoyable" experience. I just brought my pre-owned Volvo that I bought a couple of months ago in for a free recall repair. I wasn't sure I was in the right place as it looks like Volvo is just in the process of merging locations with Land Rover & Jaguar at this Galpin address. I had an appointment and was on time. The service line was pretty crowded. I have to say that even so, this was the most efficient, professional, well run car dealership I have ever been to. There were just enough employees there, doing just the right jobs to keep the line moving quickly and effectively. We were all instructed to simply stay comfortably in our cars as we moved up briskly. A friendly service person, Luc Andrieux expertly confirmed my appointment and what my visit was for. He patiently listened to the additional questions I had regarding my car as I am a first time Volvo owner, gave me the answer he had and assured me that he would show me how to perform the other things I needed to understand at the time of pick up, and wrote them down. As I advanced closer to the front my car was tagged with my service paperwork so that as I was next up I was completely ready to exit my car. I was asked if I was going to wait or to return later and shown the very nice facilities where I could relax and wait. I was told approximately how long it would take and I left. When I returned my car was finished and I had it washed. Luc then spent time patiently showing me how to control the side mirrors, pair my phone for calls and also for media so I could listen to my music from my phone through the car speakers. I was so happy to have this extra assistance. It didn't take long, but Luc was accommodating and kind. A word about Luc. He made my visit a pleasure every step of the way. I have never had such an outstanding experience at a car dealership service department. I felt important, cared for and completely taken care of. I could not have asked for more from Luc. He is a treasure of a person and employee and I felt like a million bucks when I left without spending a dime. That's a place I want to do business with. Not only will I go back for service, and ask for Luc, but I want to buy my next car from Galpin. I have no questions as to why Galpin is the number one dealership in the world. I needed to take my car in for a small leak, first off I have a cpo warranty so I know it's covered. Service manager Robert called me the next day and informed me that he found the issue and took care of it. He also took the liberty of replacing some worn suspension parts, this shows how well they treat they're customers, even when this wasn't coming out of my pocket. I'm pretty capable of doing some mechanical work myself so I know most of us don't trust dealerships, anyways they provided me with a nice loaner car and exceeded my expectations. I recently purchased a Jaguar EX and I truly enjoy it. My sales consultant was Vincent and he was excellent. Two thumbs up !! However, I cant say the same thing about Rick in the finance department. I sold Galpin my car as a trade in and I was told I should receive my check in 5-10 business days and It's now been over a month. I was able to catch Rick on the phone approximately 2 weeks ago and he informed me that I did not receive my check yet do to an error in the documents he submitted to their office. The issue was corrected a little over 2 weeks ago and I have been reaching out to Rick and I have yet to hear back from him after leaving multiple messages. Rick Nasser is very good at ducking & dodging phone calls. I'M STILL WAITING !!! If not for this experience I'm currently going through, I would have definitely given Galpin 5 stars. read more
