This is my fourth review for Galpin Volvo, but it's been three years since my last update. During that time, Volvo's dealership and service center moved down the street into a beautiful new facility. I typically wait while my car is being serviced, and Galpin makes that easy. The waiting area is comfortable, the Wi-Fi is reliable, and the new FIKA Kafé is a nice touch. I used to enjoy having Starbucks at the old location, but the espresso drinks here are exceptionally good. The service experience has also become more transparent. You now receive a video from the technician explaining any findings and recommendations, along with a text message containing your updated quote. During my most recent visit, the technician recommended replacing one of my front tires due to unusual wear. After reviewing the video and inspection results, I decided to replace both front tires since they were wearing faster than the rears. This was actually the first time I've requested more work than was recommended. I appreciated being given clear information and options without any pressure. I plan to keep my XC40 for a few more years. It was one of the first 2019 XC40s sold by Galpin when the model was released, and with only 40,000 miles on it, it's still running like new. Will I be back? Absolutely. Galpin makes servicing easy, and the technology they've added to the process is a big improvement. read more

We bought a Volvo ZX90 new in 2024. We have had issues with the entertainment system from the start. When they were unable to repair the problem last time we had it in we were told we should call Volvo USA customer service. I tried twice and spent a collective 60 minutes on hold. I call ed the service manager and told him what was going on. I told him we bought the car from Galpin and they should be the ones dealing with Volvo. He agreed, said he would look into it and call me back within two weeks. That was five weeks ago and we've heard nothing, even in response to a letter I sent to the manager of the service department and the general manager of the dealership. In the meantime, we have been without access to I-Heart radio for more than two months this time. We've had the car in for service on this same issue repeatedly since we bought the car. read more

It's wonderful to have someone who can help me. Also I thank Vahan who is the service consultant whenever I visit there. He explain the services what I should do & the process so I can understand fully before make the decision what I'd like to do this time. He remembered about the conversation what's going on and send the messages about the progress. He makes sure that we are on the same page. I'm happy that I purchased the extended warranty even though Galpin offered good warranty as well. I don't have to hesitate to visit the service center. I know it has the limit numbers of visiting but still it's really covers the most of the services ! I love this car. If someone ask me if I'm going to buy next car from Galpin then, Yes! Been having my car serviced with Galpin for the past 6 years. Regular service, you can request in advance a loaner - i've been very lucky to always receive one. I try to make my appointments first thing in the morning as loaners get more scarce later in the day. They also offer you a lyft to and from the dealership if you prefer that. With each service you have a direct line to a customer representative to provide updates on your service. For this past one i was very lucky to get Vahan, he was great at communicating updates as i had to have the car there for a couple days. The dealership just opened this new location in april of 2025 - very nice seating area - area to order a coffee or grab a snack. I reccommend always booking appointments in advance and early - this location is extremely popular so i have found its hard to get in last minute and later appointments may be delayed depending on what they are facing from earlier customers. Also, take advantage of their mailers - they send coupons quite often which are always a huge help when you have a surprise issue pop up. read more

From the beginning when I called, Sako was outstanding, he quickly gave me their lowest price on the vehicle. I quickly put down a refundable deposit. He arranged a valet to pick me at the LAX airport (easy $60 Uber savings). Then the car was ready for me. Financing gave me multiple options and matched my own bank. I received 1 year bumper to bumper and 10 year power train warranties free of charger. I was mad for not finding this place a year earlier since I bought 2 cars last year. This review is primarily for their service department. The place is impressive as far as aesthetics and space. However, they really need to train the people who schedule appointments, not to schedule a customer if they need diagnostic workup, on a Saturday. They do not and will not do diagnostic workup on Saturdays! I had told the person that sounded like a technician, who took my appointment about the exact issues and he accurately read them back to me in detail. I should have been told that I needed to schedule my visit during the week instead of on a Saturday. Pishan was especially very professional and courteous. Most of the staff is overall courteous and professional. I appreciated the gentleman who washed my car and tires . I would suggest that they need at least a small outdoor seating area. Just a few chairs, and a table. It's good to get some vitamin D while you are waiting for a few hours to get your car taken care of. Warning their coffee cup did not fit the coffee cover very well and it ended up burning my thumb with first degree burns and redness. I am really disappointed with this place all together. I purchased my car here no one told me that my car included my first 3 services with the car. I call to schedule the appointment and Anthony gives me that information so that was great. However when I come the service advisor that helped me, Vahan, tells me there's no way and to have a seat. He comes back and does not apologize he says "well he knows more than me" and tells me my car will be getting the service under the service plan I had. Great, I get here early 1015 my appointment was 10:40 so I expected to wait a little time. 130pm and my car is still sitting in the same place. When I asked the advisor he said it's first come, first serve. I mentioned how several people have left before me that came after me. My thought is because I was not paying out of pocket that they did not take my car right away. I had to insist they give me a timeline. I'm patient but it was not even busy and he was extremely dismissive once again not even to apologize for my time that I have waited. He came and said "well the other technician is going to take your car as a favor" a favor? Favor to who? Not me because I brought my car here to be serviced. Maybe because I did not buy my car 0 miles that my buying experience was not THE best then the service not being the best. I can never think where this would be ok to treat a customer like this. We bought my wife's Volvo XC 60 here. One month out of warranty the rear seatbelt that we use for a child seat failed to retract. Being a safety issue I called the dealership to ask if there was anything that could be done. My call was not returned and after contacting them again, I got a short response with an estimate for over $2000 parts of labor. Haha. I will never buy another Volvo. These people and especially my service advisor Hovig deserve this negative review. So much for Volvo safety and reliability. Just had a great experience at Galpin Volvo while working with sales associate, Andrew Wuepper. If you want a down-to earth, friendly and not pushy sales person, Andrew is your guy. Even though the process was long (when isn't it?) Andrew made the process smooth. I admit, I was definitely having some indecisive thoughts choosing the XC60 over the XC40, and Andrew gave me ALL the room I needed to work things out in my head. There's a big diff btwn gas vs. plug-in hybrid, and although the hybrid appeal is REAL for so many reasons , that stinking 40 is CUTE! But, in the end, I made the right choice that's in line with my values, and I'm excited I did. Never felt an ounce of pressure from Andrew, which I completely appreciated. There's going to be a little bit of a learning curve with my XC60, and technically I've only had it for a couple of hours now, but I feel confident Andrew will help us if we need it. I bought a used car from here. Was a joke he is. He was very responsive until I drove oh before that. I went back and forth whether I should buy this car, I decided to pull the plug and buy it. Martin (the Sales person) was very responsive until he wasn't. I told him that I did not want to sit in the dealership for hours, he promised that he would have the paperwork ready. That did not happen. He actually went home while I was still sitting in his office. Yep, he did. I was there 3 hours 1/2 of without him even being there. Whatever. I had equity in my Rav 4. I sold it because of personal reasons so I could get the equity. I have had two different car dealerships tell me that the check should have been send within 2-3 weeks max. I've heard nothing. I had to leave 2 text for him to response and what I got was "I'll follow up on it". He never got back to me. I text him again asking who I need to follow up with. He never responded. I'm so upset. If you are someone that communication is important, I would look elsewhere. This dealership clearly just wants to sell a car, once you drive off the lot, you are yesterdays news. Worst experience. I went last week to see a specific car that my husband and I wanted, he talked to a sales person named Claudia, which back stabbed us and wasted our time completely. We went Thursday to see the specific car we wanted and she was not prepared at all, we were in their lot and just showed us their entire inventory regardless of how detailed we were on what we wanted. I have a 5 month old and it was 1 pm peak time heat and when I asked her about the car I saw on the actual Volvo website, reason we were standing there, she had no idea about that car. We were specifically looking for a vapor grey blonde interior and some other specs and show us none. We head to another dealership that had something similar but called Claudia to see if she had found the one we were looking for and she said she found it. We asked her to put it on hold since we have a baby and had to figure out when to go over there, the entire time she said it was on hold, not to worry cause we continue to asked if this car was on hold. Friday she said she was coming in at 1 and so we waited for her to get into work and asked her for preliminary numbers and also the other dealership we had gone to was gonna pull the car for us so we told that to Claudia, we wanted to make the deal with Galpin (since we originally went there first) and she said they weren't gonna release it to them. Hours go by, we told Claudia we had a commitment in OC and we would love to know the price to come Saturday since we had a trade in and start the process, she sends a tentative price at 7pm which she still reconfirmed the car was on hold. Saturday comes we are getting ready to head over there and she texts my husband that her manager sold the car, at 10 am. She had said this entire time that her manager was aware that we wanted the car and said that it sold cause we didn't put down a deposit to hold the car. She never mentioned the deposit and we trusted she had our backs since this was a very specific car we were looking for, but also it feels like a dirty play since they open at 8:30 and you are telling me somebody got the car that fast even thou she knew we were coming? So I talked to one of the managers and he said that Claudia was not a new employee and that she knew that your credit needed to be run and a deposit put down to hold the car. She never mentioned it to us and is beyond frustrating since we cannot find that car with those specs in that year anymore. The manager Michael said he would call to try to make it up and didn't.
