I had the experience of getting my new Genesis vehicle from the Genesis of Van Nuys location. My interaction began months prior with Janice who made warm contact with me to get the ball rolling. Janice was a critical piece as the prior Genesis location I initially went to for all needs closed in Pasadena. Janice, followed up with me as promised and eventually warm transferred me to a salesperson- Eric F. At the Van Nuys location. Eric was patient and was responsive through text, email and phone call as I was unsure of what I wanted to do. Eric kept me abreast of the upcoming sales event (along with Janice) that they were having during Black Friday. As I didn't want to waste unnecessary time I wanted to arrive to the dealership with an idea of what I wanted to test drive. Eric made sure it all worked out. As they were very busy on a Saturday, a salesperson - Miguel assisted myself and my husband. He was also very friendly and checked in with us. Miguel handled a large percentage of the paperwork and went with us for the test drive. The actual location is currently being expanded further from what we were told so, due to the capacity my husband and I had to sit in the service area (that was closed for the day) for our time there while everyone else was in their main sales building. Understood, that they had to work with what they had. After wrapping up, we met with a very kind Finance representative named, Alex. He was thorough and a pleasure to interact with as well. Also, while waiting I have to add that Miguel offered to buy us Starbucks from the location located within a dealership where the finance area was. This was great, as it was a long day and I was getting hangry In the end, we are pleased with the 2026 GV70 and would recommend this location and staff as they are courteous and have a wide selection. read more

Really bad service. My car was in there for 60+ days. A local shop guessed at the issue, and suggested I go to the dealer to get it fixed under warranty. They returned it with new issues twice. And the first time they didn't fix the problem at all, just put a bandaid on it. 40~ days later, they concluded it was the same issue the local shop thought it was. Lastly, they broke my windshield. We've been trying to get reimbursed for the last month for the tinting we spent on it, but they cleverly avoid our calls and refuse to pick up the phone. The folks here are friendly and full of smiles, but it's to counterbalance the terrible service & shadiness. read more

Took my car in yesterday for service. When o arrived they had no record of my appointment even though it showed the email with confirmation. That should have been a sign. Christina checked my car in as my advisor and promised to text updates. It's been 28 hours, three phone calls and yet can't get an update. Even other employees can't seem to get an update for me. Frustrating especially after they closed the Thousand Oaks location (great service team there) you would assume they would want to offer better customer services. read more

Galpin Genesis definitely makes its customers feel valued. I've had experience with Sales, Finance and Service and every one was terrific. Sales: I came to Galpin to get a replacement GV60 for a lemon I purchased at another dealer. Serkei Kazandjian couldn't have been more supportive as he did everything he could to get me the best deal on my new car. When another Robert Osorio tried to steal my business, Serkei worked with his manager to sweeten the deal so the decision to work with him was a no brainer. And his responsiveness was super appreciated. Finance: Closing the sale was a breeze and the finance manager Alex Elias was perfect. Very efficient, clear and what I was pleasantly surprised by was the way he treated the additional extra coverages the way he would offer them to his own family. He explained the value of each and was transparent in the cost structure and also down sold certain ones he felt was not as good a value versus the others that are. And he was meticulous as you would want with someone dealing with dollars and cents. Service: There was a small manufacturer defect on the car that I didn't notice for over a month since it was in the backseat which I don't use and technically, I guess it would be my fault for not noticing it sooner but Christina Garcia, the service manager couldn't be more gracious in offering to help remedy the problem and she also offered a loaner car for a few hours so I could have lunch with my friend since the dealership is over an hour away from my house. The dealership probably took a loss on this service job but you'd never know it based on the concierge level service I received. Negative stars would be accurate for this dealership service dept. since my local Genesis dealership closed Galpin is now closest @ 36 miles. Scheduled an early morning appt for routine maintenance car was parked in back lot for 5 days before anyone looked at it. I left numerous phone messages (nobody picks up) asking for status updates with no response. Was finally notified the radiator had a gushing leak. How's that possible if prior to dropping off I drove 36 miles without any overheating issue? I have zero confidence in the level of service Galpin offers. Beware of the lack of accountability and transparency in the service offered. Truly, they do not offer the level of service expected from Genesis. Corporate Genesis should think twice before closing dealerships. read more

Then they bring the car back without the wheel lock. Four calls and texts to get someone to call me back. I don't believe they even rotated my tires as listed on the invoice. I had my car serviced here on Friday and it was a nightmare experience. My appointment was at 2 o'clock. I was intending to wait for the car, but the service writer said that they were backed up and it would be a couple of hours. He offered me an Uber ride home and told me he would call me when the car was ready and send another Uber. I waited until 430 for a call and I tried calling the dealership to only have the phone ring with nobody answering it for two minutes. As the dealership is around 45 minutes away from my house and the dealership was going to be closing at 6 PM. I took my own Uber to the dealership. When I was halfway there the service writer called me and told me my car was ready. I told him that I had to take my own Uber because he never called at a reasonable time and when I called the phone rang for two minutes without anybody answering. He had no explanation for this when I picked up the car. I asked if they would reimburse me the $50 that I was out for my Uber and he told me he could not do that. He tried to offer an excuse that three other dealerships nearby had closed and this location had t o service these dealerships. I told him that wasn't a reasonable reply or excuse One last point is that normally you get the "satisfaction survey within minutes of the service appointment ending. So far I've not gotten a request to fill out a customer satisfaction survey. If one was a conspiracy theorist, you would think that the dealership knew I was upset and they didn't want to get a bad review. read more

An absolute disaster. some really shady stuff happening there. They told me and invoiced a part (hub replacement to fix a noise), that was actually never replaced. I had to bring my car to Genesis of Westlake, and they had to send a Genesis field technician to find out about that issue. They also wreck my wheel and tire, and put back the front bumper incorrectly lol. They proposed to fix the wheel. repainted cheap, color was not matching...i gave them every opportunity to make it right but they are giving me the run around. I will be sending official complaints letter to Genesis HQ and even more at this point...no other choice read more

I had called in to get a status on my vechile for services on two separate occasions, which each of two times I was given nothing. I was filed with nothing but frustrstion. I had then decided to test my fate and call in on a Saturday which I would never do because that would seem to be the busiest more hectic day of the week for servicing. I was right that I didn't get in right away however the receptionist on the phone of the name Amanda was nothing but sweet and understanding. She delieverd excellent customer service and was super understanding of my situation and was sure to get my message delivered to service as I was given a call back within hours! UNSAFE TIRE ON 'CERTIFIED' CAR: Started out great as many car purchases do, but the difference is in the follow through. My sales person, Robert, did a great job in expediting our quick-purchase timeline; we were in and out within two hours. The purchase was on 8/20/25 and when I got up on 8/21/25 I saw that my front left tire was low. Putting air in the tire, I didn't get around to driving the car again until Monday the 25th when I noticed that the tire was low. I took the car to Firestone where they diagnosed a "plug leak" too close to the sidewall, so legally they couldn't make a repair for safety reasons. I had to spend almost $300 to purchase a new tire. The next day I took the car back to dealership with the tire that was removed. Over the phone they gave me pushback stating that they inspect and certify all their cars, and that they wouldn't have released a 2023 G70 with only 7,000 miles on it without checking the tires. They had little to say when they could see the rubber cord from the apparent illegal plug still dangling inside the tire. With some back and forth, I eventually got the service tech to speak with the sales manager, Jack, who agreed to reimburse me. Upon receipt of my proof of purchase of the tire, I was to expect a check inside a week or so. It's now over three weeks since I reported the puncture and still no reimbursement check! TOOK A WEEK TO GET A BILL OF SALE: Having left the dealership after an expedited purchase, the Finance officer, Jeremey, said that he'd send over copies of the bill of sale and other documents via email. It took three calls to salesmen Robert and approximately a week before I finally received my documents, which were necessary to register my car with Genesis in order to activate some of my technology. In five more days it will have been one month since my purchase, and due to technical issues, Genesis has been unable to provide the link or correct signals to the vehicle to allow me to use my navigation and a few other features. As I started out, purchases start out great and the 'who we are as a company' reputation is earned by follow through. Unfortunately I have to give Genesis of Van Nuys a two-star review. Ironically, I've been sitting on what would have otherwise been a glowing review based upon first-day impressions. Barry read more

DO NOT USE ANY OF THEIR SERVICES FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. THEY CANNOT BE TRUSTED. If I could give this place no stars I would!! After dealing with the fact that the TO location closed (without notice to their customers) then we had to pay $100 bucks both ways for someone to come pick up our car and take it to get it serviced here, even though we pay for the package where it's free of charge in TO to have someone come get the car. Now we find out that money was stolen from our account because they found a check in our center console (why were they in there you ask?! Who knows, but we didn't need service in there) so now we have to deal with fraud on our account because someone decided to be a horrible person and employee and took our hard earned money. I'm a SPED teacher and I don't make a lot of money as it is, and this is something no one should have to deal with when you're just trying to get your car serviced so I can get to and from work safely. Now I have to be more concerned about bringing my car in to service because someone violated my trust?! Not okay! Never again will my car be left with anyone at Galpin Genesis! read more

He was patient, kind, understanding and most of all has the greatest sense of humor. We found a G80 that worked and we were off to financing. After finance it was back to Mr. Felder who not only worked beyond his shift, he ensured my vehicle was set up and programmed to my phone and account set up before I left. I brought my GV70 in for service and had the most A-MAY-ZING experience... Quick backstory, bought it from the Genesis location in Westlake, they closed up shop. I wasn't SUPER excited about driving out to Van Nuys to get my service needs met... However, Christian (my rep) rolled out the red carpet!!! They needed to keep my car for "further diagnostics" whatever that means, and Christian provided me with a loaner... He even asked if I'd like to walk over with him to their Starbucks next door in Galpin's Land Rover store for a snack and/or drink while I waited for my loaner to be washed... Customer service like this DID NOT exist at the Westlake dealership, glad to have such a solid team looking after me now and into the future! Worst service experience. First time bringing my car here since the Westlake O'Gara (great dealership btw) one closed down. Brought my car in for regular service, and I had noted my car was making a noise most likely for brakes, but I had mentioned if it could be anything else since the previous dealer had fixed a strut for me under warranty. Towards the end they charged an inflated service price ,twice the amount at Westlake, and they wanted to charge me an additional $250 diagnostic fee for letting me know that my car needs brakes. The service advisor made it seem like he was doing me a favor by waiving the "diag fee" for a ROUTINE SERVICE RECOMMENDATION. I was aware the car needed brakes, as I stated when I came in, and was waiting on my performance rotors/pads to come in. He used his sale tactics on justifying the price & costs. As an owner of several cars and gone to several dealerships I've never had someone with such arrogance. Secondly he lied about being the only Genesis dealership for 100 miles. I will be getting my car serviced at the Southbay Genesis where I bought my car and they charge less than half the amount on an oil change service. Not to mention it was difficult to get a hold of anyone at the Van Nuys service department, nor were they good at following up. read more

I'm really blown away by the level of professionalism and attention to detail at Galpin Genesis. This division opened on Monday, May 12, 2025. On Thursday, 5/15/25 I arrived at the service dept to address maintenance and a battey issue with my G70. Service Manager Justin was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He quickly scheduled me for immediate service and gave me a lunch and coffee voucher for the Galpin Restaurant and Starbucks. My battery needed to be replaced and Justine expedited that order. During this time I met personally with GM Jack. He was extremely professional and eager to help me with a new G70 lease. I cannot recommend this Genesis dealership enough. I only learned then of the dealership's many brands, including Porsche, Range Rover, and Volkswagen. I'm so happy that I found a new dealership. I want to thank my friend, Colin, for referring me to the GM. And, lastly, there was a young lady in the service dept. who was also so helpful.
