Mike is the best. Very rare you find someone who takes as much pride in work as he does. I've never written a yelp review before but I thought I should because he deserves 5 stars. I recommend going to him for all of your gaming needs.

I went here to turn in some games that I had lying around, I ended getting way more value than I originally expected. I asked a lot of questions about the new OLED Nintendo Switch and such and the whole staff were incredibly nice and helpful, especially the manager Mike. I didn't have enough cash on me so I couldn't get the console at the time. Mike told me if I called him the next day he would check if he had one in stock for me, I called the next day and came in an hour or so later and he did have one. He also made some great recommendations about games and a screen protector for the Switch. You can tell these guys care a lot about games. Really nice and respectful group of staff here, I think I'll be a regular at this store.

My wife and I just stopped into this Gamestop tonight for the first time to look around. Michael was extremely friendly, helpful, and informative. We enjoyed conversing with him about games and he made our shopping experience tonight very relaxing and fun! We'll definitely stop by some more in the future because of our experience tonight!

I was told by The other game stop that I could return it within 30 days so about 20 days later I came to this game stop since I was nearby.

3 stars are for average performance as a card shop, nothing special…read more 2 stars are given because this place lacks some basic business common sense. I normally choose to support local card shops rather than ordering online but that is changing now. Card shops used to be a place where you would go as a kid and look around and purchase a pack or two. These people want you to support their shop but they don't really care about the card shop experience. Case in point is I showed up with my 2 kids and there was a line of about 50 people outside. The people outside said to go inside if you aren't there for some random card release for a specific genre. I was there to grab starter decks from Magic for my son and I and then pokemon for him and his sister to open. We were turned away at the door and told to wait in line; couldn't even browse the store. In what world is having a 5 year old and a 3 year old wait behind 50 grown adults who are there for another card release in 96 degree weather the classic card shop experience? I will not be returning as I had to come back and drop another $1200 that evening so my kids weren't entirely let down, but that was the last time. After talking to two cashiers about it, they didn't seem to care at all. Not expected since it's minimum wage but I don't see this place sticking around in a decade or if there's another government shutdown for whatever BS reason. I have probably spent about 10k this past year at this store which isn't much (I only go in once a month if that) but if they keep catering to scalpers that drive from all over verses their local community, they will not reach much success. I run a 50 million dollar company so they should take my advice because this shit is basic. Here's a thought, have a dedicated cashier or POS tablet to go and check out everyone outside instead of making toddlers stand in line in nearly 100 degree weather. Use your brain. As of right now, this place is NOT kid or family friendly.

Our family loves this store. Not only do they have retro games but really cool collectors items…read more Staff is always friendly and knowledgeable and our kids always leave feeling good.

I've spent hundreds of dollars at Throwback Gamez because I genuinely like supporting mom-and-pop…read moreshops, but today I learned apparently you need a bachelor's degree in Pokémon Card Sciences before you're allowed to negotiate here. I'm getting back into Pokémon cards after collecting as a kid. Now I'm grown, have some money to spend, and figured it would be fun getting back into the hobby. Obviously I don't know every single thing about card conditions, pricing, sets, etc. yet. They had a card for $52. I looked it up and found one for $33, so I offered the guy $45. Seemed reasonable to me. What I DIDN'T notice was that the $33 card was listed as heavily played. My bad. I didn't know. I'm still learning. Instead of just saying, "Hey man, that $33 one is heavily played, ours is in much better condition, that's why it's $52," this dude looks at me like I just tried trading him a Caterpie for a Charizard and goes: "Why would I do that? That's my price. That one is all fucked up." BROTHER I DIDN'T KNOW. Then he basically tells me next time I need to learn and do my research before trying to make deals. Damn Professor Oak, my fault. I thought I walked into a card shop, not my final exam at Pokémon University. The funny part is I WASN'T trying to lowball the guy. I legitimately thought $45 was a fair offer based on what I had found. All he had to do was explain the difference and I would've been like, "Oh shit, okay, that makes sense." Instead he made me feel like an idiot for not knowing something. Then another guy walks in who obviously knows his Pokémon cards and suddenly the employee evolves into his final form. Now he's friendly, talking cards, buddy-buddy, having a great time. I'm standing there like damn, apparently I need 8 gym badges before customer service gets unlocked. Maybe the AC being ass had him irritated. Maybe he was hungry. Maybe Team Rocket stole his lunch. I don't know. But the customer service today was TERRIBLE. And that sucks because I actually like this store. I've spent hundreds here and specifically come here because I want to support a local mom-and-pop shop instead of buying everything online. Not everybody walking into a card shop is going to know everything about Pokémon. Some of us are getting back into something we loved as kids and finally have adult money to spend on it. Instead of making those customers feel stupid, teach them something. I promise you, we're probably the easiest people to sell cards to.
