Not a good location. Told me on the phone they had preorders available and I drove over and then they told me they sold out of preorders. It was about a 15 minute window and then they told me they had been sold out about half an hour ago. To add, there was a line of preorders and the staff member failed to mention that they had sold out of a sought after pre order product to the entire line. What a waste of my time. WORST RETAIL EXPERIENCE EVER. Watch out for the fat old manager with a beard!!!!! I came to this Gamestop looking to buy a console to play retro games. I was helped by 2 young employees, who were very polite and knowledgeable. They convinced me to buy a used Wii with the adaptors and all necessary accessories. They even explained their return/exchange policies very thoroughly. After the purchase, I went to pick out several games at the store with one of the employees. All of a sudden, this over weight, scruffy, and dirty looking old man (who claimed he is the regional manager) suddenly interrupts our conversation, and starts shouting at me and talking down to me. I immediately put the games back on the shelf, and I told the young employee i'll buy the games another time, or somewhere else. I go home and realize the Wii I purchased doesn't work at all. So, a couple days later I return to the Gamestop for an exchange. Unfortunately, the dirty overweight rude man was there. He said the one I bought from his store was no good and he needs to sell me another one for twice the price. I said that is more than I expected to spend, and now i just want a refund. He lost his temper and started to talk down and berating me. I held my composure as best I could, until he finally gave me a refund. The guy was still running his mouth, telling me what a terrible person I was while I was walking out the door. I looked back and saw the other employees just standing in the corner looking at the ground. I felt bad for them, but I was pretty upset, and just wanted out of this toxic environment. I went here to trade in a product I purchased via GameStop.com. The game came with my ps5 bundle, but I had no interest in playing the title, so I came to the store to trade it in. The man who was working refused to wear a face covering over his nose and mouth despite having signage requiring it of others. When he saw my game he noticed it was still wrapped, as I haven't touched it (I had my proof of purchase with me) and became immediately cold and asked where I had "gotten it from" with his arms crossed. I told him it was from GameStop and showed him my receipt, and that I understood it was not eligible for a refund since it was part of the bundle, but was hoping to trade it in. Before I could finish my sentence he cut me off saying it would be a violation of a law of some sort if he took it, and I would have to come back when he wasn't working because of it. I asked him to clarify and he kept repeating "look it up" and would not offer any support. Flabbergasted, I called customer support, they said they had never heard of anything of the sort, and offered to speak with the man to smooth it over. He refused to use my phone, then said he would call himself. After calling, he asked me "what am I calling for, exactly?" I said he was calling to clarify and he hung up and refused any further support. He did all of this while other customers were in the store, making a point to be loud and accusatory. I understand having a bad day, but this is the reason Brick and mortar locations are crumbling. An almost defiant lack of customer care and a disgusting approach to helping someone who has already clearly patronized your company. I would give negative stars if I could, you should be embarrassed of yourself. read more

Let me tell you about the current store manager Mike. Today I was in the store at around 11:30. The associate told us to come back around 12, as the manager will be in at that time. At 11:45 we came back as we suspected a line was starting to form for the Xbox/PS5 drop today. My friend and I were 2nd and 3rd in line. The store manager, Mike came and asked person 1 what console he wants. Asked my friend what he wanted. Asked me what I wanted. He proceed to assume my friend and I lived together and were only allowed to buy one console. WTF. I argued that we do not live together to check our ID. He did not want to check our ID. He proceed to say "it's my store. It's my discretion. And you are not getting a PS5" All because we came in together?!? The level of discrimination I keep receiving from Mike is ridiculous. I don't know if it's being a racist against Asians. Or what. I went back to try and understand his thought process on why he would not sell me a PS5. I followed all the steps. I've had mixed experiences here. Once I came in looking for a Pokemon Black 2 and when I asked the girl at the front if they had it, she said they only had Black. She was chill and polite so it was no worries. I ended up checking myself and saw they did have the game I was looking for and she said that it was labled wrong and apologized for the confusion. Got it and was satisfied. However I came in a second time and really did not like the service. I had recently purchased a Pokemon SoulSilver from a different GameStop and unfortunately found out it was a fake after doing research and looking at a real copy. Normally not an issue but I paid 60 bucks so I really wanted to at least exchange it. When I came in asking about it, the person at the front was snarky in tone right away. She asked how I knew and even said that she never had seen the differences I was talking about, talking to me as if I was crazy. Now looking back at it, isn't it your job to be well versed in games, especially large franchises such as Nintendo? She pulled out some other copies, gave me one and I was on my way...until I realized it was another fake. That one I will take some responsibility for I guess, since I didn't double check, but it does lessen my trust with gamestop. I didn't want to deal with the same employee and ended up going to one in Irvine and finding a legit copy (the differences between the fake and real are very clear), and the service was much better. Also now looking back at it, all the Pokemon SoulSilver cartridges are fake at this particular gamestop remembering the ones she showed me, so watch out and do your research before purchasing used games. read more

I only come here for my teenage son and this is a descent location. Well stocked, service is fine and they are not usually busy. Good selection of games and accessories for all consoles, anything not in stock they can easily order for you to pick up or be shipped to your home. Easy parking, prices are fair is you shop their sales. Not a fan of selling items here, as we all know they really rip you off, best bet is trading them in if you want those most out of your old items. read more

I went here to turn in some games that I had lying around, I ended getting way more value than I originally expected. I asked a lot of questions about the new OLED Nintendo Switch and such and the whole staff were incredibly nice and helpful, especially the manager Mike. I didn't have enough cash on me so I couldn't get the console at the time. Mike told me if I called him the next day he would check if he had one in stock for me, I called the next day and came in an hour or so later and he did have one. He also made some great recommendations about games and a screen protector for the Switch. You can tell these guys care a lot about games. Really nice and respectful group of staff here, I think I'll be a regular at this store. read more

Mike the manager is rude. This was my second interaction with him since they moved locations across the parking lot. The first time was months ago and he completely ignored me as I perused the store. This time I stood back and watched how he treated my 9 year old as he asked about selling his Pokémon cards... Mike pretty much dismissed him and said we don't buy those here, you have to go to mission viejo and spit off a street name while walking away into the back room. They constantly hook me up with great deals and are very nice and knowledgeable. Sometimes you can get better deals here than anywhere else as well as things that they just don't have anywhere else. DO NOT GOT HERE I used to go here a lot because of the selection and how friendly the staff is, but that change a few months ago. For those who do not know fake Pokémon GBA and DS cartridges have been circulating around GameStops and eBay. These cartridges originate mostly on Etsy, or eBay for around $10 and are sometimes sold to GameStops for a profit, and the GameStop will resell them for a woping $70!!! I was one of the many unfortunate souls to have received one of the copies at a GameStop of all places. When purchasing the unauthentic copy of Pokémon Soul Silver I asked the manager Mike if the copy was real, and he said yes and explained how they have a guide for identifying fakes. Long story short its fake and the most ironic thing is that real copies of Soul Silver are Black and the copy that Mike sold me was grey. This doesn't look good because, A. corporate doesn't know how to detect the most obvious fakes. B. Mike didn't do his job correctly C. Mike lied to me. I returned the fake copy and got my money back, but a few days later I went back saw the same copy for sale. I tell the lady behind the counter Page that they have a counterfeit Pokémon game in their possession, and she explains how it still plays the game so there's no problem. She's right but if spend $70 on a game I want it to be the real deal not a Chinese knock off. I can buy other games with $70 and I would rather spend it else where. DO NOT GO HERE!!! read more

5 stars for their use game selection. This GameStop location seems to have a collection that is infinitely better than others in the area. I came here recently during a buy 2 get 1 free used game sale and spent way too much time trying to narrow it down to just 3 games. (It doesn't help that I have a PS3, PS4, XB1, WiiU, and 3DS). Where the location does falter is size & staffing. The location is tiny and since they have so many racks of inventory, there's even less room to move around in it. There also seems to be perpetually understaffed. Expect to spend a long time in line waiting to check out while the few employees there get bogged down in things like trade ins and phone calls. It's really a disappointment as if they could streamline the shopping experience at this branch I'd make it my exclusive GameStop! read more

My husband grew up playing N64. His birthday was coming up and I wanted to get him his childhood game, so after doing some research, I called GameStop. The manager there was very helpful and made the process quite easy. I was worried that the system itself might look 'to used.' It looked quite new for being 20 years old! Had a great in store experience with John where he helped me get a used Xbox One. He helped me choose out the best game for my console. I was definitely an advocate for this store when I left. I even gave a perfect score from the survey on my receipt. Then the negative experiences started happening. First the controller they sent home with me was broken. One of the buttons didn't work. They claim to test all of their products but they clearly don't. There is an extra hour of my life gone driving back to the store. Secondly, Microsoft offered the newer product on prime day for less than the price I paid. Not just marginal, like a crazy difference. I paid $200 for a used Xbox One and game. I then paid $50 for a used controller. Microsoft had a deal within 30 days that included the Xbox One S, 2 controllers, a charging kit, and three games. Mike wouldn't take it back. He had no remorse and was trying to prove that it was some secondhand seller pushing the product...except it was Microsoft with the deal. "These kinds of things always happen." Then he just kept repeating "7 days. Refund. 30 days. Exchange." What a great way to turn an advocate to someone who will never step back in the store again. read more

The guy there right now running the place is so rude to the other employees. I have never felt such toxicity in a workplace. It seemed like the poor kid couldn't do anything right (but also didn't seem to be doing anything wrong) the manager dude said "I guess telling him to take out all the trash means leave it behind" when the kid just didn't have enough hands or didn't see the empty box lying away from the trash can. He also told the kid to answer the phone and then yelled at the kid for not being able to answer the customers question on the other line. Which gave me the idea the young employee is probably newer. The manager says "tell me everything, the whole story so I can answer it." The kid tells him and he says "they're just gonna have to wait until I'm done with this customer." But in a really nasty tone. Then the young employee was getting something for a customer and needed the managers keys and the manager snapped at him "give them back to me immediately." Like idk what this kid did to him but the tone and demeanor of the manager was freaking awful. The most uncomfortable 20mins of my life. The women employee also looked like she was bothered by the managers attitude. I understand this is a busy time of year and sometimes patience can be hard to find especially working in retail with all the nasty customers who come in... but it is so hard to find employees willing to actually work (which this young kid seemed eager to do) so be grateful for the help you have and take a freaking chill pill! There was more stuff I wanted to buy for my stepson, but the vibes in that place made me so uncomfortable. I just hurried up and left. This Gamestop is located next to the Steak and Shake. It does not have a lot of square footage and the shelves are packed very close together with very little room for butt maneuverability. Only one cash register was available at the time, so it took some time to get done, but the transaction was processed properly. Games on shelves were OCD-like organized alphabetically by title. This allowed games to be located faster. read more

I came today to return an Xbox controller I got from another GameStop. I was told by The other game stop that I could return it within 30 days so about 20 days later I came to this game stop since I was nearby. Unfortunately the manager informed me that it's actually a seven day return policy and a 30 day exchange. But thankfully he was very nice and he worked with me and allowed me to do the return. I bought another controller from him and it works great. The girl worker there was also very nice and I enjoyed talking to her. Overall I highly recommend this gamestop and would not recommend the one in the Mission Viejo mall I'll come here every time before I go there. Thanks for the help tonight!
