Awesome experience!!!! Great service food was excellent & they took extra special care of my baby on her birthday

Cheese pizza, add mushrooms! Thin crust, yummy sauce, and real mushrooms.

I had cheese + mushroom pizza with a small salad. The hubby had pulled pork and fries. Everything was tasty! And they allow dogs on the patio. Our server was excellent. Great experience and we'll be back!

I only found out about this nine-year-old establishment thanks to Chicago's Best TV. It was one of the features on their hidden gems episode. I went with the namesake Gammon burger with blue cheese and jalapenos. It didn't disappoint although it may have been better had it been cooked to the medium-rare I requested. All in all a good burger friendly staff and the tater tots are a nice touch. They only feature craft beers so no High Life for me. BYO Mac N Cheese peaked my interest as did the routine. Will have to stop back.

Half patty melt and half grilled cheese with fixins. Plus some seriously amazing french fries.

Do not judge a book by its cover. Cutesy old house with teas and sandwiches? Nay. Hidden dive-gem of the western suburbs. How can a beer and bar-food enthusiast not totally dig this place? Beer menu = really good. Lots of stuff you can find in most decent beer bars, but a good selection of the finer craft brews. They had Scurry by Off Color Brewing on nitro, which tasted excellent. They also had some brews from Solemn Oath, Deschutes, Lagunitas, Left Hand, Stone, and Three Floyds on draft. There were other good selections available in bottles/cans, like Founders, Oskar Blues, Revolution, Great Lakes, Church Street, and Two Bros. Good to see they support local brews! They had a tap for Penrose hanging on the ceiling, and that place isn't even open yet (soon to be in Geneva, I believe). Anyway, beer was good, right? No Miller Lites or lawnmower beers. Lots of whiskey and bourbon to choose from, and a couple ciders available (not Woodchuck). I think that any craft beer lover would be happy. ALSO, you can get a 6oz beer, if you want to try a few beers instead of drinking one or two large pints. It's a nice option, if you aren't sure what you want a lot of, or if you just are in the variety sort of mood. Food, woah. They have a grilled cheese with CHEESE on the OUTSIDE. It's crisped on the outside of the bread, so don't expect something oozy-gooey on the outside, but don't be dismayed. It's really good and flavorful. We added grilled mushrooms, grilled onions, tomato, and bacon. This thing was overflowing but not gross or messy. Lots of flavor without an obscene amount of cheese. We split that, and then also split the Patty Melt. It was fairly standard...homemade burger patty on toasted, marbled rye, swiss, and grilled onions. The burger was a bit more than medium, but it was juicy, so no complaints. If I had to pick a winner, I'd vote for the grilled cheese, but I'm not sorry I ordered the patty melt. THOSE FRIES THOUGH. They look like boring-@ss fries, but don't be fooled. My husband ordered sweet potato tots and was a sorry sucka. He didn't finish his tots and was picking from my pile of carby, salty french fries. Not too thick, not too thin, with a crunchy outside and fluffy inside. Fried to perfection, and you get a lot. Yummmmm. Cory behind the bar was friendly and knowledgable. Everything was prompt and he checked back on us frequently. He even asked "Does everything taste great?" assuming that the found was excellent (which it was). Glad to see this place and its quality inspires confidence in its employees. I'll be back here. There are other items on the menu that I NEED to try, plus they have rotating specials, like spaghetti, ribs, tacos, etc. Their beer menu is rotating, and its nice to see that they have it posted on their website. Drop in for a plentiful basket of bar food and some local brews.

Pizza. ... yummm

Not extremely impressed, but I am sure in warm weather with outdoor searing it may be better. The place is quaint (wont say small). Food options were ok, nothing tooted our horn. Although, others around us had some decent looking different dishes. Beer, many to choose from, which is important! Service, good. My food was luke warm, never a good thing with grilled cheese..... Hub says we will give one more try... So means I am in for another spin

Carbs and a glass of "Half Acre".

The Gammon Couch House is modern day "Beatnik" territory. This is a coffee house atmosphere where you snap your fingers as you recite jazz poetry and hope Dave Brubeck is on the radio waves. I try to fit in with the cool cats and often wear my beret, dark shades and a black turtle neck and get my "kicks" as I sip the Craft Brew of the day. I'm a local and frequent this Shack just enough to make the scene. I admit that the Craft Beer Choice here is unlimited and ever changing, however how many can actually be tasty? I've tasted everything from effervescent to shades of old bland motor oil and all points in between. Never get attached to a flavor of choice, because it's probably not available on your next visit. I'm not saying this place is a Red Onion, it's just hard to park my "lead sled" in this crazy lot. As I sit at the bar, I start tapping my "Bongos" hoping I don't look too squaresville..."Daddy-O".

Food is pretty good but I think its a little over priced for what it is. Craft beer list is solid. Not a lot of seating.

My husband and I went a couple weeks ago, and the side dining rooms were closed, but I am limited, and can't sit on the high top table, they were kind enough to allow us to sit at a regular table. We ordered an appetizer, their rattlesnake bites, they're delicious, a decent size of eight white breast chicken rolled with cheese and bacon, and sprinkled with Cajun seasoning, they're food is not your typical bar food. Went there today, and we noticed they renovated the dining areas, looks so nice! Lots of upcoming special events. Staff is friendly and accommodating! Food is delicious. So glad things are looking better for these establishments. Give it a try, it was good to be back! Thanks!!!!

I've come here at least a dozen times over the past few years and I really want to like this place…read morebut I give up. It's pretty decent and unique bar food but the quality is hit or miss and the last time we went the service was atrocious. Server came to our table 3-4 times tops throughout the meal and forgot a drink and all of "build your own" parts of the build your own burger my friend ordered. Had to go to the bar to get a new drink and the soda we ordered. We could see the server inside watching tv instead of actually checking in on us or any other tables, and was so distracted watching the soccer game that I had to walk up front and wave him down to try and pay. To top it off the bugs on the patio were so bad we had to move ourselves inside (no server around) and my legs are still covered in bites. Get it together.

There are two sections to the Frontier Pub; the restaurant part and the smaller cozy pub. When eight of us arrived around 5:30 PM on a Friday evening, the pub was about 3/4 full. This has to be the most comfortable pub in the Western burbs. With sofas and easy chairs throughout, you can really kick back and relax. There is a small bar where the friendly bartender was chatting with her customers. The real attraction on this 7 degree evening was the warm fireplace that was already staked out by 10-12 Fermilab researchers and their families enjoying Two Brothers brews. Since we had a relatively large group we walked over to the restaurant section which is brightly lit with a couple of TV's on the wall. They have several beautiful Bison photos and a huge taxidermied Bison head hanging on the walls. It's a comfortable room but not fancy. The limited menu is standard pub food but its all prepared quite well. Our group ordered turkey burgers, hamburgers, black bean burger, grilled chicken and the special of the day; spinach calzone. I had the grilled chicken which came with fries ($6.50) and it was perfect. The people that ordered the spinach calzone said that they really enjoyed it. We shared pitchers of Two Brothers Bison Head Ale ($15 pitcher) which is a delicious brown ale brewed just for The Frontier Pub. It's a basic menu but the food is prepared with care. I also need to mention that our server was just delightful. (I wish I would have gotten her name.). Even the bartender came over from the pub to chat us up. The good food, unique setting, great service and friendly crowd all add up to 5-stars for me. Fermilab is a great break from your hectic grind. Come out and see the bison herd or even go birdwatching. At the end of your day of exploring, The Frontier Pub is a great place to quench your thirst and fill your belly. Who knows, you might even strike up a conversation with an atomic physicist!
