Great decor with good food and service. Came for lunch and it did not disappoint. Ordered by scanning the qr code and checking off different items from you phone for them to bring the items to your table. Beef, shrimp, chicken, lamb and various seafood to cook on skewers that rotate on the table grill. Price ranges around 2 to 5$ per stick of meat. They didn't have okra and some items were out of stock when I went.
There was a waitlist for about 30 mins before we got seated at the restaurant. This place is mostly self service where you choose your own skewers. We got an array of skewers and some add ons dishes. The cold cucumber salad was great and it helps cut the grease of the meat. The foiled enoki mushrooms and scallop were delicious and addicting. Overall, I don't think it's worth the wait for skewers.
I really love that the skewers rotate and you don't have to worry about it too much. I also wish we came hungrier to try more skewers and more side dishes. Overall, the vibe was so cute and it was exciting to see our table neighbor try to chug beer in a small amount of time to get $$ off their bill. Little games like that and returning skewers for a chance to win a prize makes it exciting! The quality of skewers were pretty good but a little bit pricey compared to other places.
Located in the back of the food court where the bar use to be in Tangram, you'll find this place with a self serve area. You get seated and you walk up to find the various selections of meat. You take your selections and walk towards the end where you will find someone to count your items to put on your tab according to your table number. If you order any "specials" like ready to eat kitchen things, then you order via the iPad at your table. As a first time experience, it wasn't bad, meat was fresh and tasty with their various dipping powders. They also gifted a flower to moms on Mother's Day! Note: the bill can add up really fast!
I easily made a reservation for a group of us. We got confused finding the place and realized it's in Tangram's food hall. They had large screens and were playing the World Cup. You grab skewers and tell them your table number or scan the table bracelet. You can order à la carte. They have seasoning packets. The cocktails were cheap but small and light. The skewers were seasoned well. In the summer it can get hot in there. For every 10 skewers, you can try the crane for prizes, like stuffed animals and gift certificates.
Very lively and modern Chinese aesthetic. I loved the claw machine if you win for every 10 skewers you complete and put into the table. The service was friendly a little slow but I will attribute to how big the area is and multiple guest needing the servers. I love the selections of skewers you get to choose in the open refrigerator. The amount of meat was good for each skewers and the cuts was perfect. I enjoyed you had to do some of your own cooking so that was very fun. The cooked dish from the kitchen was the pan fried noodles, Eggplants, Enoki Mushrooms and the Scallops. The skewers after cooking were very tender and flavorful. I especially loved the Pig Intestine as it was very crispy after cooking. Definitely a fun place to bring friends and family to hang out.
The seasonings were probably the best part and the order of chives. The skewers are pretty small, not much meat and doesn't really fill you up. A bit pricey imo for the amount of food. We had to get a second dinner afterwards. The service however is really accommodating, didn't charge us a cake fee. Probably the only spot open in the late hours of the food court.
It was a fun concept and I've been wanting to try a skewer spot with the rotating grill ever since the other one in Flushing closed a couple of years ago. We arrived right around when they opened for lunch and had to wait a bit for a table. No one told us what to do but I knew that we had to bring the bracelet with us while picking out skewers. They had a wide selection of ingredients available (vegetables, beef, pork, lamb, chicken etc) and I picked out some lamb, cumin lamb and beef tongue skewers. I don't know how the staff could tell the difference as the skewers all looked similar but they scanned the bracelet and I brought the skewers back to my table. They also had a fridge full of cold foods and oysters. At first the skewers on our grill weren't moving at all and it wasn't hot at all. After looking at the other tables, it turned out that our grill and smoke exhaust weren't even on so we had to flag down someone to help us. The chopstick/wet wipe kit on each seat was pretty useful. Tissues were hung above the grill. The skewers took a while to cook as our grill wasn't heated up yet. The cumin lamb skewer tasted the best to me. I think it would be helpful if they had a guide for how long to cook each type of skewer at the table. The smoke exhaust was right above the grill and blocking the light so the table also had a little lamp on the side to shine onto the meats to see if they were cooked or not. Check was paid at the table. There looked like to be an outdoor smoking area so if you're dining in, I'd recommend asking for a table away from the patio. Overall it was a fun concept to try but I won't be going back as you can get a lot more food from other skewer spots in flushing for the same amount of money. It's probably a more fun spot at night time then during lunch hours.
This was something fun to do as we arrive to flushing. I think the experience would have been better if the waiter allowed us to go to the bar and pick out our skewers instead of looking at the menu. The visual of the skewers would have allowed me to try more options inside of picking things I read on the menu. Place is clean and wasn't busy when we went. I would try another skewer bbq place so I can compare.
A new Chinese skewer spot just opened up in Tangram Mall, and it's already drawing big crowds so expect a wait. I waited almost an hour for a table of two, but once seated, the experience was fun and lively. They offer a skewer buffet where you can choose from a wide variety of options, from different meats and seafood to veggies, plus several appetizers to start. There's also a full bar, which is a nice touch if you're waiting or enjoying the meal. The different kinds of skewers are very flavorful and fresh! One of the fun highlights is at the end of your meal you put all your used skewers into a machine to redeem a prize, which adds a playful element to the experience. My only complaint is the environment inside. There are no windows, and with the grills constantly on, it gets very hot and humid, which can be uncomfortable while dining. Overall, it's a great spot for skewer lovers and worth checking out if you don't mind the wait and the heat.

Hidden inside Tangram Mall, this new BBQ skewer spot pulls you into a world of glowing lights, live singers, smoky grills, and tables filled with laughter and empty skewer sticks. The skewers keep coming, the cocktails keep pouring, and the fun doesn't stop--especially when you exchange your finished sticks for a chance to win prizes. Between the music, games, crafted drinks, and skyline views outside, it feels less like dinner and more like a full night experience.
What an interesting concept to have in Tangram. I have been meaning to try this place for a while and it did not disappoint! They staff started off with taking out order nd then after, we were given a bracelet. We were able to go up and pick up extra skewers as well as sizes and just tap the bracelet to add these items to our bill! The only thing is some food items such as the Fried Noodles, Naengmeyon and the Bibimbap have to be ordered with a server. Starting off, the Bibimbap was very basic, I do not think I will be ordering it again. However, the Naengmeyon and the Fried Noodles were absolutely delicious! We ordered another bowl of each to the table once we started getting in the groove of eating. The skewers were also great and the server notified us on how long it takes to cook them in the beginning of the meal so you have to pay attention! Definitely had a great time with my friends and it was nice that they had dishes other than the skewers so that we were able to start eating while they were cooking. My only complaint was that we were seated near the front and they had this changing screen that made a very loud and not enjoyable sound.
Tried @gainblaze for the first time - our initial attempt was nearly 4 hours! Pro tip: Add your name to the waitlist, and they'll text you when your table's ready. You can even track how many parties are ahead, but you've got about 10 minutes to check in or lose your spot. We went on a Tuesday evening, and the place was surprisingly chill at first (almost empty!), though it filled up later--makes sense since it's a late-night vibe with alcohol on the menu. The concept is super fun and interactive: You get a bracelet with a QR code. Head to the skewer station and grab as many (or as few) as you want--one to sample, or load up! The best part? Try a single skewer to test flavors before committing to more. (Just remember which is which--it's on you! ) At the end of the line, the cashier scans your bracelet and inputs each item. The tablet's mostly in Chinese, and prices vary by skewer, so they double-check closely (we saw them squinting to distinguish beef from lamb ). . Then, grill everything right at your table! Timing can be tricky--we're not taking chances with raw chicken. Staff are helpful and will flag if something's done, but when it's busy, burnt skewers are on you. Seasoning packets on the table add great flavor, though the "melted cheese" side came as one big glob that didn't quite melt. Every 10 skewers earns a prize spin. We racked up 20... and won absolutely nothing. 0/2 . Live music was playing, which elevated the whole vibe--always a win! Overall, we loved the experience! The food was tasty, the self-paced portion control is perfect, and it's a fun, unique spot in Flushing's food scene.

Food: 4/5 - pretty solid skewers at a reasonable price! Lots to choose from too! Service: 5/5 - really kind and interactive staff. They have moments they walk to each table to play simple games like rock paper scissors to earn credit for your next visit if you win. New Chinese BBQ skewers spot in Flushing. Came to try after work one day. It was very lively and busy for the dinner crowd. I was excited to try it as the concept was really cool with the auto-rotator grill. They have seating in two floors (main floor where you enter and second floor like a mezzanine with more seating) and the tables are spaced well so it doesn't feel cramped or crowded. They have two menus, self serve and an order to table menu. The self serve selection is on the main floor. They have a wide selection of skewers- lots of meats, some veggies, and some salads, fruits, etc. I really liked that they were on cold plates and you could see that it was really cold so you know it's being kept well. I tried a whole bunch of stuff, my favorites were the big lambs, beef, mushroom wrapped in bacon, abalone and chicken hearts. The chicken hearts were surprisingly tender. My server Lance (Chinese name Hongei) was super nice and helpful with explaining how everything worked and also with cooking times. Pretty much everything cooks in 8 minutes. The order to table menu is a QR code menu and has items like fried rice, foil packet bbq items (corn and cheese, sauerkraut beef, chili garlic oysters, etc), beverages (alcoholic and non alcoholic) and the server brings it to the table. The table also has everything you need, a wet wipe, different types of dipping powders (mild cumin, spicy cumin, sesame, generic dipping, salt, sweet and sour sauce). The tissues are hanging like sloths on the lamps at each table. I realized it all the way at the end so I figure I help someone else out. I enjoyed mixing the extra spicy cumin and the sesame powder for the perfect mix. It wasn't spicy at all to my tastbuds, just perfect for the grilled meats. They also gave cheese on the grill which went really well with the rice cakes, it isn't mozzarella like I thought it was, it was some salty cheese that was really good. They have live music and it can get pretty loud, it was just a good vibe and a fun time. At the end, they count your skewers and you can play an electronic raffle. This Chinese skewer place opened up where the old beer hall was in Tangram. When you go in there are fridges full of meat and veggies and many grill stations. You pick out the skewers you want and then you scan the bracelet that is unique to each table in order to add those skewers to your tab. Food and drinks can also be ordered via a QR code. The grill has a rotating mechanism so you don't have to turn the skewers yourself which was pretty neat! There are also seasoning packets on the table and each 10 skewers you eat you roll a wheel for a chance to win a prize. The variety of meat was great but there could be more variety of veggies. The black pepper beef and cumin lamb were my favorite. It's a fun time and I'd recommend this place for skewers if you're a true meat lover. read more

Ganblaze, located inside Tangram, is a must-visit if you're in the mood for delicious skewers and a lively atmosphere. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the energy in the restaurant is vibrant, especially with the live music playing. Just a heads-up, it does get really busy, and the music can get loud--so it might be tough to have a conversation without raising your voice. The menu here offers an impressive variety of skewers, and the process is pretty unique. Once you're seated, you're handed a bracelet, which you take to the front to select your skewers. They also offer a variety of appetizers and noodles, so there's something for everyone. The food is flavorful, and it's clear they take pride in what they serve. One thing to note: while the experience is fantastic, the reservation system could be a bit stressful. We received a message saying we had 10 minutes before our table was ready, so we rushed over within 2 minutes of receiving it. However, despite responding within the minute, they had already given our table away. That said, the food and vibe definitely make up for it. Highly recommend checking it out, but be sure to stay on top of your messages and act quickly to avoid any disappointment. read more

I'm going to be real GanBlaze is on a whole different level. I actually traveled all the way from California just to eat here, and let me tell you, it was worth every single mile. The atmosphere is a total vibe, especially with the live music it really set the mood for the night. The food? Absolute perfection. We ordered a variety of skewers, and they were all grilled to perfection. The spices they provide (especially that sweet and sour sauce and the dry rubs) take the flavor to a point where Cupertino food comes nowhere close. You also HAVE to try the Korean noodle soup; it was so comforting and flavorful. To top it all off, our waiter was incredibly cool and made the whole experience even better with top-tier service. the concept is definitely unique where you cook your own skewers on a rotating grill right at your table. You grab whatever items you want, and they scan a wristband with a barcode to keep track of everything you pick, which is pretty convenient. They also offer cooked entrees like rice and noodles if you want something more filling. That said, the experience didn't fully justify the price. It's very expensive for what you get, and the taste was just okay. The meat quality was average, nothing memorable, and even with the dry seasoning powders they provide, it still didn't compare to regular Chinese BBQ that comes properly grilled. They gave us cheese on the house, but honestly... that thing was diabolical... it didn't even melt. Service was decent though as the staff member kept checking in on us and made sure we were okay. Overall, it was interesting to try once for the experience but I wouldn't be back. read more

This was my first time coming here with my wife and her friend.
