Came in early on a Sunday morning. I see this place as a dependable diner with fast service. The food is reasonable, but I have had better (even at a diner). We had the corned beef hash special and the meat lover's omelet. The corned beef hash had fine slivers of corned beef and a ton of potatoes (pro tip - unless you love potatoes, go with a side of fruit at an extra charge). We love going to mom and pop breakfast spots and thanks to Yelp, found this place. As we drove up to this place, I realized that I had breakfast here with my mom years ago. It was a bit of a cold morning but because it was so busy, I preferred to sit outdoors. Fortunately the sun was shining down on the tables. We ordered the Breakfast Feast which was a HUGE portion. The waitress was kind enough to split it into 2 plates because she knew it was for our kids. We almost thought she gave us 2 Breakfast Feasts by mistake lol. The pancake was moist as well as the waffle. They were as big as the plates! I got the Breakast Burrito which honestly wasn't all that great, very basic. The salsa and sour cream added the flavor. We frequently come here before going to Costco, the homebrew store or the scuba store, so great location for me! This time we came on Saturday late morning. They had plenty of tables, the greeted us, sat us and took or drink orders right as we came in the door. I had the gangnam Benedict and my wife had the regular Benedict. The Gangnam Benedict was a treat! With the marinated beef it has a sweet and savory taste, loved it! Also their coffee cups are huge!! You can really get juiced up here. Discovered this place awhile ago and it has become our favorite local breakfast spot on the weekend! We have purchased takeout and it is always ready pretty quick. This time we dined in and I am obsessed with their orange juice. It is freshly squeezed and worth every penny! It was a splurge for sure at $6 for a glass of OJ. They are known for their galbi so anything with gang nam in the name will have this yummy short rib. Some pieces had fatty parts which wasn't that great but overall it gives the dish good flavor! I had the Gangnam Benedict and it was so good! It came with hasbrowns and they do a good job with crisping them. Some restaurants don't have great crispy hash browns. The staff knew some of the customers by name and vice versa which I love! My BF ordered the GN Benedict and I ordered the Crab Cake Benedict because I ha ent tried it but they made me the Crab Benedict instead. It was delicious. Definitely recommend this to anyone! Came here on a Sunday morning with my boyfriend. Plenty of parking. We walked in and was told to sit anywhere. There is indoor and outdoor seating. We decided to sit at a booth. The service was fast and friendly. A couple of the customers that came in seemed like they were regulars because they were catching up with the waitresses which was really nice to see. Made it feel really homey. The food was delicious. I especially loved how the chicken fried steak came separately on its own plate lathered in gravy, my favorite part. Tried Gangnam Cafe on a whim after a recent sporting event and we were thoroughly pleased! The service was top notch. I only saw one waitress and she HUSTLED. She was lightning quick to bring drinks, condiments, food, and the check. The OJ was freshly squeezed and a crowd pleaser. The food came out FAST (around 5 minutes???) and was piping hot. I was super pleased with my omelet, loads of bacon, a nice lightly sautéed spinach, and the most amazing side of French toast on the side. Hubby's chorizo scramble was delicious, and not too spicy. I ordered door dash from this establishment a couple of days ago and was very pleased. I ordered the Fried Chicken Benedict w/hash browns and a coffee w milk and cream. My fried chicken was yummy and sat on top of an English muffin (I believe) and the poached egg that sat on top was perfect! Not too runny not too hard. I was very pleased. The hollandaise sauce was also very yummy and flavorful. I was very pleased that my coffee actually showed up with the cream on the side (restaurants always forget this) And I was also pleased they included jellies, utensils and salt and pepper. I can't personally speak on their service because I didn't eat there in person, but their attention to detail on including everything that I asked for I think speaks for itself. I'd love to visit in person soon and experience the restaurant myself as food is always better when you sit in person and experience the ambience and service yourself. read more

We came here on a Sunday morning. I called about an hour prior to coming in. The lady that picked up was nice and answered my brief questions without rushing me off the phone. They have some outdoor seating and allow pups out there. The location is in a place you wouldn't expect. The store front faces the street and is in an auto/industrial area. There is a good amount of parking space. They don't have a restroom inside the establishment but they have one in a communal area/hallway. It's definitely an older/run down restroom but it was at least stocked and the floors were dry. What we got: Biscuits and gravy - probably the only thing that we got that I thought was just OKAY. The gravy had a thick consistency with minimal sausage pieces. The biscuits were squares which i thought was cool (I'm so used to them being some kind of circular form). The gravy-to-biscuit ratio was generous and would easily have a lot of gravy in each bite of biscuit. Again, nothing really stood out here. 4/10 Corn, bacon and cheese - the server said it was similar to elote, when I read it on the menu I instantly thought it was like Korean corn cheese. It was like neither. It was canned corn with green bell peppers, bacon and a nicely crusted mozzarella cheese on top encasing everything in. I feel like this had potential but it just didn't do it to me. And i absolutely LOVE corn AND cheese (together or not). The corn itself had a strong flavor of bell pepper and didn't have much flavor other than that. The bacon itself wasn't remarkable. 2/10 Good friends with French toast - got 2 eggs over medium, they were still pretty runny and had no flavor. The 3 sausage were ok. Probably frozen and I had to really search for the flavor in every chew. French toast came with 4 half slices (2 full slices of bread) with powdered sugar and a pretty small amount of butter. I'm not sure why but the taste reminded me of the way a wet dog smelled. After I caught a taste of that i couldn't eat it. Even with the syrup. I don't even like syrup. 0/10 Sausage burrito - hubby got this and I only had a bite or two. For some reason it was really watery. There was almost zero flavor, again, there were bell peppers and that flavor overpowered everything. I was surprised the sausage didn't add to the flavor, it's like there was not salt/pepper added. It came with either hash browns or country potatoes and we opted for the country potatoes. Almost everything we had came with bell peppers so I was surprised these were just plain. They were at least cooked all the way through but again, nothing amazing. 0/10 The servers were friendly. Not the most attentive but definitely nice. Most of the food came out pretty quick, the burrito took the longest to come out. No complaints on my end, but the two servers we had were not wearing masks - indoor/outdoor - but the rest of the staff were. I personally don't keep up with the CDC guideline changes so maybe some people are allowed to just keep the masks off. Again, I'm not complaining because I personally don't mind, but knowing how some people can be in Concord, the not wearing of masks might be an issue to others. Overall, I wouldn't drive 15 minutes to eat breakfast here again but would be open to trying out their lunch menu. read more

Ordered delivery via DoorDash. Pretty standard breakfast place overall - I'd give 3.5 stars, but don't have a way to do so, so I'm going ahead and rounding up. I ordered the chicken fried steak and their fresh squeezed Oj. The hash browns were decent, not super special, but well seasoned, which a lot of restaurants struggle with. I didn't eat the eggs because I'm not an egg fan, and didn't have a way to leave them off. The chicken fried steak was interesting. It was super tender and again, well seasoned. The gravy on top was a surprise- I've never seen gravy with bacon in it in addition to sausage, but the flavor worked and was pretty tasty. I do think it made everything a little salty, but I like salt so it wasn't unbearable. The one thing I was kind of disappointed with was their delivery packaging. For a dish like chicken fried steak, the gravy should be separate (in one of those little soup cups) so that the steak can get to its destination still a little crispy (it won't be perfect just since it's transported, but can still have a fighting chance!). In this instance, the gravy was on top of my steak, which made it relatively soggy by the time it got to me. Management, if you read this: I suggest trying to package sauces, gravies etc separately for delivery and to-go orders, as it makes a difference! Overall, I'd consider trying them again if I'm in need of a good standard breakfast, but I'd probably want to eat there so that my food doesn't get too soggy. read more

Always passed this place on the way to Costco on Detroit. Finally got to try it and the whole family was so impressed with their breakfast that we kept going back I think 5 times in 3 weeks! Country fried steak is crispy and the gravy is the perfect match. I love Benedicts and tried their vegetarian one but a must have is the Crab Benedict. It is packed with huge pieces of real crab meat! The hollandaise sauce, I can put in anything, seriously, dip the hash browns, eggs, fries it's amazing! French toast is great also pancakes are average. They give hefty servings of hashbrowns so I usually change one of them to fresh fruit and they give a hefty serving of a variety of all kinds of fruit not just oranges and apples. They give cantaloupe watermelon grapes kiwi oranges bananas all for just one meal! The one item that is unique to this restaurant is there bulgogi meat. You can try a sandwich burrito or omelette. There is so much flavor int he marinated meat that I would eat normally with just rice but they offer it in so many different dishes I tried the breakfast burrito and it was great. This Cafe offers very traditional American food. It is close by my job so it is pretty convenient. The staff is very friendly. The restaurant Is very clean and it is often busy. On Sundays it gets crowded. I've been there mostly for breakfast. They have a good selection of omelets, scrambles, and Benedict among other foods. Their orange juice is delicious as well. I love heir spicy scramble. I've tried a few of the lunch food. Their salads are big! Their mango salad and chicken breast salad are very yummy. Their meat loaf was my least favorite. It came with mash potatoes and vegetables and it kinda taste like hospital food. Their soups on the other hand are amazing!!! And a must get. BACKGROUND: I've heard about this place since it's across the street from PG&E and heard from coworkers that this place is good. My mother has also brought kalbi from here and it was passable. FOOD I ordered a BLT, one of my fave sandwiches because it's one of those hard to mess up sandwiches and not to mention it has bacon :) unfortunately the B in the BLT was tougher and older than the oldest 7-11 beef jerky I've ever had. I only could muster enough patience to finish a little more than half a sandwich. All other ingredients were fresh though. 1/5 for the BLT. And whoever was the chef, you should be ashamed you'd put something this old onto your customer's plate. I ordered the sandwich with a side of fries and I wasn't impressed by the quality of fries they use either. They were so devoid of fullness (best way I could describe it). 2/5. Wife ordered the Eggs Benedict and the sauce was pretty good as was the ham, egg, and muffin. However it was strange how salty it was. Wife didn't finish her meal and I ate it the next morning. 3/5. *3.5 Stars* The old Gangnam Café cooks up some quality breakfast food! It's located in a commercial area off of Detroit Ave in Concord. I've been here several times over the past few years, and I would have to say this place has been a hit or miss. The interior is very cozy with lots of tables set close together all throughout. This place gets packed on the weekends as well, the earlier that you can come, the better. Generally speaking, the food here is really good! I really like their pancakes and during my most recent visit, I had their crab eggs benedict. The crab benedict was really delicious and cooked perfectly, but the country potatoes were way over cooked and were almost on the verge of being burnt. They also tasted dry and under seasoned which resulted in me having to douse them with salt and smother them in loads of ketchup. I feel that for the quality and the portion size, Gangnam is a bit pricier than most in the area. My crab benedict and apple juice costed me $20. Granted it was a crab benedict, but I just didn't feel like I got $20 worth of quality food. The service here is pretty average. It's not bad but nothing stands about it either. Sometimes I have been forgotten about in the past since the place gets really busy and the servers are always scrambling around trying to help everyone. I love this family owned restaurant! I have been here once or twice a long time ago and moved across town. I had heard through the grapevine that my favorite waitress from Mins Kitchen, Lil, worked at GN on Thursdays and Fridays. I've gone to GN several times now since to sit in Lils section because she's an awesome waitress and my family has been sitting in her section at Mins for a long time. This place was absolutely delicious! I ordered a club sandwich, sweet potato fries and some ranch dressing. Portions are huge! Restaurant was nice and clean, all of the staff was very friendly, everyone smiling, good energy!! I work not far from here, and I always have customers who ask me for a good breakfast place on a Saturday morning. My go to breakfast joint. Nothing fancy about the ambiance. There are a few dishes with a Korean twist/influence which I love on occasion. Found this gem on a whim after taking care of some errands and was so happy I came across it. To be fair I wanted something quick and close-by, but not fast food if that makes sense. You can tell she had an attitude she didn't even sit us down and ask for our drinks she asked us for the drinks at the door which to me doesn't seem proper but she was also so aggressive as well. Once she was taking our menus she rudely moved my daughters drink to grab the menu she didn't even asked my child if she could of handed it to her. My favorite Breakfast\brunch spot in the Concord/Pleasant Hill, especially if your looking for a Dungeness Crab Benedict. Service here was great! We were greeted immediately with a genuine smile. It was busy but the service was still quick. They got a cool little parking lot in the back. I ordered the Crab Cake Benedict which comes with hash browns. I wouldn't say it's thee best around but for not having to drive to San Francisco or the long waits in Berkeley it's pretty damn good! My GF ordered the Bulgogi Scramble which also came with hash browns and toast. The scramble was massive, if you love Bulgogi you I can't really go wrong here. Great flavors.
