Small but busy cafe serving breakfast and brunch. What makes this place stand out over other similar establishments is the offering of Galbi (Korean grilled beef short ribs!) in many of their dishes. My family and I came for brunch this morning and were met with excellent service. Coffee was always topped off and orders were brought out quickly. My dad had the crab scramble, my mom had the galbi scramble, my husband had the crab benedict and I ordered the smoked salmon benedict. The hollandaise sauce is house-made and super rich and delicious. They give a LOT of crab meat and it tastes very fresh and flavorful. I actually preferred the crab over the smoked salmon. This place had been bookmarked forever for me and we finally got to try it out. I can't believe we waited this long. The place is in an industrial area not far from Costco and has plenty of parking. We walked in and was greeted immediately and told to sit anywhere. We got a table and our waitress came out and gave us our menu and took our drink order. They have a ton of things to choose from and there's even pictures on the wall of some of their food. The waitress was so sweet and easy to talk to and very good at checking in with us and making sure we were ok. I ended up ordering the Gangnam scramble with country potatoes (recommended by our lovely waitress) and hubby got the crab omelette with country potatoes. We also got a short stack to share. The food came out not too long after and wow the portions are huge! We should have shared a meal but I am glad we got it all. Everything was so delicious!! I could not finish the potatoes but that was because I ate some of the pancake. That pancake was so perfect and I'm picky about my pancakes. Goodness that meal pretty much kept us full all day. Service is great. Friendly wait staff. All willing to help. Food came in a timely manner, and it came delicious. I ordered the shrimp melt. The outside of the bread was crisp and shrimp salad mix inside was amazing. The flavors and textures melted well in my mouth. I chose potato salad on the side and i liked the chunks of hard boiled egg mixed in. Yum! The rest of the menu is interesting. They have the traditional breakfast items - eggs, omelets, benedicts, pancakes. Other things they have include Korean short rib in burritos, eggs, and sandwiches. I'm trying those next. I returned to G-Cafe a weekend ago (and I haven't been here in years!), only to find that the rumors of "BEST Crab Benedict" are TRUE. No joke - it's the best. So much tender, meaty crab with great Hollandaise sauce (I always get mine on the side) and the hash browns were exactly how crispy I wanted them. My plate was great!! Fred ordered chicken-fried steak and I couldn't help but steal more than a couple of bites from his large, 2 plate serving! The gravy was really creamy and delicious and the breading was light and crunchy and perfect. At the end of our breakfast two slices of watermelon were brought out to us. I'm usually not one of those people that's like "oh, best 'this' ever"... "best 'that' ever".... but the watermelon was FOR REALZ the best watermelon ever!! It was packed inside when we arrived but we were seated and served quickly. Really friendly staff and our coffees were kept full. I can't wait to go back in and enjoy another impressive (and affordable!) breakfast!! [PS - My ONLY advice to the restaurant. Take down the pictures of plated food on your wall and replace with new ones. Breakfast...Gangnam style! No, I am not talking about that stupid yet addicting song by Korean popstar PSY. Instead, I am talking about Gangnam Cafe in Concord. It is located along a quiet light industrial/commercial stretch of Detroit Avenue, not far from Costco. You can't miss it since there is a prominent sign outside that reads "GN Cafe" E and I decided to give Gangnam Cafe a try today after we scraped our plan of doing Bikram yoga. We got there at about 9:20am and were greeted and seated immediately. The restaurant looked spacious, bright, and clean. Food pictures, paintings, and coffee mugs made up most of the decorations. There were a couple flat screen TVs in the establishment. Overall, the environment was very comfortable. E ordered the Good Friends Special with scrambled egg, sausage, and French toasts, while I opted for the Denver omelette with extra crispy hash browns. Food came out about 10 minutes later. My omelette was a little disappointing. It was cooked on a flat top and not in an omelette pan. They used store-bought deli sliced ham and sliced American cheese for the dish. The hash browns were cooked according to my specification. They were crispy and delicious. E's scrambled eggs and sausage looked decent. She told me she liked her French toasts. Service was excellent. All the servers who helped us were funny and courteous. They checked on us multiple times during our meal. With a couple drinks, the total with T&T came out to $30 even. We had a great time there even though the food was just average. They earned an extra star from me because of their excellent customer service. IMHO, this place is worth a try only if you are in the neighborhood. What a great lil gem of a restaurant! Perfect brunch spot! I was in Walnut Creek visiting one of my bff's and we wanted to get brunch. Thanks to the yelp app, I found this place and was definitely not disappointed. We were seated immediately and a sweet girl came over to take our order. She was very patient and answer my many questions about the menu options. The food was AMAZING! The Gangnam scramble is a must order, seasoned perfected and come with a side of crispy lightly pan fried hash browns. The kalbi meat was perfected grilled and was the highlight of the scramble. We also ordered the crab Benedict, which was insanely tasty! One order came with 2, and each one had large chunks of real crabmeat in the center, and for the price of $13, it's definitely a steal! Parking is super easy, service is great, and bathrooms are really clean but outside of the restaurant. My friend was so impressed she went back the following week. read more

KALBI FOR BREAKFAST!? What an awesome concept!! I loved Gangnam Cafe, the unique food, and the service too. My scramble with kalbi (meat marinaded Korean style) and green onions was a perfect piece of Korean heaven found in the most unlikely of places. Our waitress was stellar. She said it herself: "[she] needs to grow 6 arms and wear her octopus suit to get the job done!" She was very friendly and effectively juggled what looked like 2 dozen customers on her own. We all got our food quickly, had coffee refilled whenever we got to quarter cup, and she was super friendly and funny. Sorry I didn't write down your name, Amazing Server Lady, you know who you are and you rock! All in all, this place is an amazing hidden gem in the middle of Concord. I came here for brunch with my boyfriend. Upon arrival, we were told to sit wherever we liked. The boyfriend and I ended up sharing the Crab Benedict and the Cheese Corn, which ended up being more than enough for the two of us. The Crab Benedict was very on point in flavor. There was avocado in the dish, which surprised me but the flavor balanced out very well. We both also enjoyed the Cheese Corn. On the day, I drove past the Concord Bart station and then past the Costco to reach my desired place. One wouldn't notice at at first if not for the sign saying GC or the Yelp app having the directions. Open from 6:00am to 3:30pm. My friend and I came here at around 10:30aim. Coming in the restaurant didn't necessarily look like a restaurant. It was more like class hall, a cafeteria even. But it was still charming. There was a tv ok the wall to the fight of the entrance way. There were pictures of the food they cooked. They even had a board listing their weekly specials. Ambience wise it was chill. The sounds weren't too loud. NOW LET'S TALK FOOD Price: cheaper than other breakfast care diner. They got pancakes, sausage, has towns, breakfast burritos, etc. I chose the Good Friend's meal. That had white sides instead of the yoke, the sausages. There were also 4 slices of branch toast. The water we got was cool but near room temperature. The egg whites weren't buttered or heavily buttered. Thank goodness for that. (Denny's likes to do that.). But they were a bit bland. I had to add some hot sauce and pepper to get it to taste better. The sausages were hot and yummy. The French toast was pretty darn good. I thought it would have been a bit more sweet. But, it helped that I grabbed some maple syrup! Our server was amazing. We had a great rapport with her. She was kind, helpful, attentive, and she even joked around with us. Paying for your meal: Go up to the counter and pay for you meal. I had one of their daily specials. It was a sausage patty omelet with asparagus, bell peppers, green onions, and cheese. I began eating the omelet only to realize that there wasn't any sausage in it at all. Strange... that's the first ingredient listed and was written in big letters on the board. I was able to get a sausage patty on the side after telling the waitress, but the whole situation was pretty funny. It also came with a side of hash browns. They were perfectly crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. However, they were very bland. But salt and pepper fixes that. Quick , clean, and delicious. That's what my husband said as soon as we got into the car after our meal. Lol. Really though, this cafe is solid. The prices are very very reasonable and you get a good amount of food. My daughter loved her mickey mouse pancake and eggs. My husband's chorizo scramble with home potatoes were delicious and my good friends (2 eggs bacon or sausage , choice of pancakes waffle or French toast) was satisfying as well. Found this breakfast spot via Yelp recommendations and it did not disappoint. This place is located behind Costco and can be considered as a "hole in the wall" joint. The name of the business suggests that it has some Korean influenced dishes. The packed place was a sign that this was a local favorite. PROS: lots of different breakfast platters to choose from, fluffy pancakes, & great omelettes. Big portions! Servers were extra nice and welcoming. Coffee is refilled non-stop! Mickey Mouse pancakes:) CONS: we sat near the exit doors and a draft of air hit our table every time someone exited/entered the restaurant. I didn't really care for the interior of the place, tables were not cleaned right away, and our server would forget some of our order. This place is awesome! Great little place that have excellent service and food. I don't toss out 5 stars very often but I couldn't think of a reason to deduct a star. I guess their coffee is just regular old diner coffee which isn't top shelf but that's part of the appeal of this type of place. You don't go here because the coffee is greatest. I really like this little dinner. It's tucked away in a business complex and is a little hard to find. The sign outside says "GN Cafe." The interior is the classic diner setting. The service is wonderfully friendly and the food is served quickly. We've eaten here twice this month. I'm picky about eggs benedict and this was very good with lemons on the side just like I asked for. The fried eggs are served as you ordered them -- over-medium (not runny or crisp) were perfect.
