It was early in the day so we had lunch. Both of us had the lunch special with us two meats and an assortment of veggies, rice is extra. The portions were good for the price. We played it safe with bulgogi. It was well seasoned but not as well seasoned as I'd had in Other places. The spicy bulgogi was delicious and I would get double that one on my next trip. We shared a lychee drink and it was very refreshing and not too sweet. We loved it to change the taste of our meal after so much meat. I was a bit shy and didn't ask for extra veggies just because I didn't know if it was gonna be a charge or not, but I'd have liked a bit more kimchi with the lunch specials. The vibes are fun. They have televisions playing music shows so if you're into the kpop scene, you have entertainment ready for you. It was cutely decorated so there are plenty spots for cute photo ops if you're into that. I would definitely return here.

Ok, admittedly, it was a crazy night. Miami Miami'd the night we were there. People were acting out…read moreand wild, and it was a random Wednesday! But truly, it's that kind of excitement and life that allows a place like KYU to thrive. People want to be where the action is, and in terms of food - this is there the action is. We had the Chef's Special, and every single serving that was brought to us was a 5/5 experience! Our waitress was attentive and personal, without any sense of lingering or hovering at all. The staff did a good job of dealing with some of the rowdier patrons, and it was clear that this was not the norm, but some people looking for trouble with a bit too much of something in their system. I was impressed overall, and would absolutely go back next time I visit Miami. Probably a top 10 dinner experience!

Elite. The perfect start to the night. Bree took over once our table was ready and everything just flowed. Attentive, warm, and completely on top of it without ever missing a beat. And the food... every single dish felt like an experience and somehow better than the last!!! I genuinely couldn't pick a favorite. Even the krunchy kale had personality (which says a lot). The branzino, steak tartare, Korean fried chicken, octopus, mussels... I'm still thinking about all of it. Kim, the manager, was consistently checking in and making sure everything was perfect, and that level of attention to detail made the entire night feel elevated. We were really taken care of and my experience at Kyu ended with me in bed ready to sleep and a huge smile on my face. And left overs for tomorrow. I couldn't ask for anything more!

I'll start with a positive: I actually really liked the anime-themed decor. It's unique, fun, and definitely adds personality to the space. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. The customer service wasn't great. It felt inattentive and unwelcoming, which immediately set the tone for the meal. We ordered two servings of crab rangoon, and I was honestly shocked at both the price and the quality. To put it simply it was the worst crab rangoon I've ever had. They tasted like they were deep-fried in old oil, with that heavy, stale aftertaste. They didn't seem fresh at all more like something pulled from a freezer and quickly dropped into the fryer. When I opened them up, there was barely any filling besides cream cheese. I couldn't find any actual crab inside, which was really disappointing, especially considering how much they charged for them. I was genuinely sad about how much money we spent on those two orders, only to be completely let down. I love supporting unique, themed spots and the anime vibe really had potential but unfortunately, the food quality and service just didn't meet expectations. I hope they improve because the concept itself is cute.
