He was very responsive via text, and did an initial free consultation where he ended up resolving my issue in a matter of minutes. I received a call from my tenant that the garage door was having issues, found Garage Door Basics via yelp (generally look for local vendors with great reviews) and scheduled a service visit within 5min. Thankfully, Dave was able to fit us into his schedule later that same afternoon and explained that there was no fee to come out for an assessment. Once he arrived he was quick to diagnose the issue--a snapped garage spring. This was unexpected because I had replaced the four garage springs in 6/2020 and the previous set had lasted at least 8yrs. Dave pointed out that the garage door was extra wide and heavy, but also that it was unusual to have four springs that were all different sizes. I suspect that the previous vendor I used may have replaced springs with whatever sizes he had on hand rather than using the correct sizes that matched the original set up. Dave ran out the correct spring sizes on his truck, so had to return the next afternoon to complete the repair. Dave was responsive and communicative, efficient, and very chill. My garage door & motor are roughly 30 years old. The door stopped closing without repeatedly reversing so I replaced the sensors. Easy as pie. Then it stop going up it down without glitching. DOH! Time to bring in a professional. Dave showed up quickly, tried a few things to make it better, and yes tested it before he left. No dice. Took me pushing the button over a dozen times to finally close it. He told me the motor was spent and needed to be replaced. He told me to call and schedule an appointment whenever I was ready to which I replied, "How' 'bout today?" Dave said he had a few more appointments to hit and could circle back after that. Our garage door wasn't closing properly, and I thought that because the lights were on on the safety reversing sensors that they couldn't be the problem. These guys are good. Really good! Great communication, efficient, helpful and so nice! They replaced now both of my garage doors motors and springs and I'm so pleased! Don't go anywhere else! Side note: I do hope in the future they can take the old motors and hardware and possibly find a way to recycle them properly / or bring to a parts yard for an extra fee.
