Very much sport bar vibes. Solid (and reasonably priced) drinks/food. Happy hour is solid (and runs later than everyone else's.) Good bar if you like laid back vibes or are a local. I came here on a Saturday after finding out this is a Saints bar since the one I used to go to closed down. I called ahead to see if they were playing the LSU game, and they said they were. The place is definitely a little more upscale and not really the typical sports bar vibe I usually go for, but the service was great, and they have some of the best specials! Unfortunately, they keep the music playing during the college games, so I couldn't actually hear the LSU game. Because of that, I only stayed for one beer. They were also out of their hazy IPA, and the beer on tap selection overall was pretty lame, which was a little disappointing. That being said, the place is really cute, super clean, dog friendly, and there are TVs everywhere, so you definitely won't have a problem seeing the game. I'll definitely come back for a Saints game. Just please update that beer menu - let's see some Harland IPA. read more

Such a great late night spot that's chill and has good drinks. They have a great late night happy hour too. The playlist was a good mix of top 40, hip hop, and R&B. The only thing that could be better was the way the service was operating. The tables were all open seating, but nobody came to the table for the first 10/15 mins. After we had already sit down, a girl came up and put signs on all the tables that said there was no table service and to order with the bartender. No acknowledgment, just put the sign on the table and kept it pushing. My husband went up to the bar and while waiting another bartender came to the table to take my order. She ended up coming back throughout the time we were there to check in, take additional orders, etc. so it was kind of confusing what the service standard was. There was also a second bartender on the entrance side of the bar and she was SO loud but she spent a lot of the time talking to what seemed to be her friends rather than helping other customers. read more

It was early in the day and the crowd was sparse. We sat at a booth in the back. You had to walk to the bar to order. They made us open a tab, although I didn't want to do That. I don't like my credit card sitting on the register unattended. The drink was average, not too Strong or weak. There were TVs about the walls and there were two sides to the bar, although one side was closed. This bar has good reviews that's why we came through initially. About $19.00 for the one drink and tip, and one to the next one. read more

Really enjoyed this cute, comfy divey spot! Great place to watch the games and get some bar snacks. The drinks were spirit heavy which we loved, and the fries were so good. I usually don't like lemon pepper flavored things, and these had such a good punch of citrus and salt that I couldn't resist! The boneless wings were good yet wish they were a little bigger. Best best best Bloody Mary ever. And Nicole is an ACE!!!!! Celebrated my birthday here for lunch. Place and restroom was clean. Nicole had an overall amazing attitude. Oh man. Let's start with the good. Our server was super cool. Lights were dark in the back half of the bar and he "manifested" the lights on for us. I take it to mean that he just flipped a switch on. He also made a great beer recommendation. The bad: food was terrible. It's just overpriced Sysco/Costo slop that's served at every restaurant. Chili fries were basically Hormel canned chili10 wings for $17. Cool bar tho. There were some Winter Olympics taking place in the bathroom. So there's that too. read more

This place is a total dive bar. Service was great, but it's a hole in the wall vibe. All we ate were tator tots, and they were fine. The menu says there is a rotating beer menus, but we were told that was not true. All of the drinks seemed watered down. We were drinking here for hours and didn't get a buzz. Went to the next place and were drunk after a few drinks. Place smelt like smoke...but I am certain smoking isn't allowed, the aesthetic isn't great and the bathrooms weren't super impressive or clean. I would pass on this place. Ps. The only perk I can think of is the happy hour menu prices for drinks. Very generous at 50% off pretty much everything. read more

My wife and I were in the area for a musical at SD Broadway, and as is the norm, headed over to The Local to catch a bite. Turns out that they were opening late this particular day, so we went wandering around the area to see what's open. We stumbled across Taste & Thirst, perused the menu, and decided to have a seat. We were greeted immediately by the waitress/hostess/bar keep (all the same person), who gave us menus and took our drink orders. A few minutes later, she stopped by to take our order - my wife ordered the chicken strips w/fries, and I ordered a small plate of boneless chicken wings w/teriyaki sriracha. While we waited, we checked out the place - DEFINITELY a Cheers kinda place - everyone seemed to know everyone.....at least 5-6 TVs scattered throughout, with various sporting events playing. And the ceiling decor was awesome - rows and rows of old beer pulls. Clever idea! We got our order, and were pleasantly surprised. The chicken strips were sliced chicken breast - and the boneless chicken wings were cubed chicken breast - both cooked to perfection. In fact, the ONLY downside was that the place was extremely understaffed (pretty much the norm these days, it seems). Bottom line, great food (and while we didn't partake, a HUGE line of beer pulls behind the counter!) - definitely recommended. read more

We saw this place on Yelp few days prior to our trip to SD and decided to get some food before heading back to our hotel after our concert . We were greatly kindly by the bouncer/security that also served as a hostess . He told us we can sit anywhere by the bar and the waitress will come shortly . As we looked through the menu and blonde lady passed by us and slammed a sign on our table that said "order at the bar" . It would've been no issue for us to order at the bar but we didn't know. The bar had an off vibe that I even picked up on. The waitress/bartender was only rude to my husband . He went to the bar to order another beer because she wouldn't come to our table but went to the other tables with female customers we're at. As soon as he left the table she asked if I wanted anything so I ordered his beer for him . She went out of the way to ignore our table with him there and even when we were going to pay only tried to deal with me . This place seems like a local watering hole and If any outsiders come in you get treated differently. The food was okay . But there was no hospitality. read more

This is a neat little hole in the wall bar that has a lot of personality. It is located just off of downtown San Diego's Gaslamp strip. There is metered street parking right out front of the bar. There is also a commercial garage and other metered street parking within a reasonable walking distance. The bar has a small patio area out front, a dining area and a full bar with seating. The bar/dining area is dimly lit and has a bunch of televisions for you to watch. You will also find that it is decorated with draft beer handles on the ceiling and there is a digital juke box and ATM on site. The bar also serves you typical bar food that includes: burritos, burgers, wraps, salads, Philly's, club sandwiches and wings. They have late night happy hour on select food and drinks and the kitchen is open late, which brought me here. The two bartenders working the night of my visit were awesome. They were very friendly and attentive. I ordered some teriyaki sriracha, with a side of lemon pepper fries. It took about 12 minutes for me to get my food and it was fresh and hot. The wings and fries were so delicious. They were packed with flavor. I highly recommend both. They host many pay per view UFC fight viewing parties here too (for a fee). I like this spot. I am glad that I was able to eat diner here. The food was finger licking (literally it was). This bar was very low key and chill. They had sports playing on the television and music playing in the background. I highly recommend checking this spot out. read more

I'm a dodger fan in Padre territory but the crew were super nice and even put my game up on a tv while there was a padre game on most of the other tvs. Means a lot to feel welcomed in that environment.
