And it wouldn't have been much better if they had bar chairs rather than stools with no backs. The drinks were okay. The long island was made well. The mimosa was just about all juice. Instead of ordering another mimosa in a different flavor, I just ordered a glass of champagne with a side of juice to my make my own. It was much better that way and only a dollar difference in price. The food was delicious. I got chicken and waffles. The waffles were probably one of the best I've had. And the chicken was well seasoned. The biggest downs fall was that we had to wait about 45 minutes for two orders of chicken and waffles. It was entirely too long of a wait. The restaurant is cute and trendy. And they played some good R&B music.

So, my friend and I came here after seeing this place HEAVILY promoted on their social media platforms. Our waiter was nice but literally took forever. So we ordered a hookah while we waited for our food. About 20 mins later he comes back and says they were pretty much out of everything.... Literally about an hour after opening. So we tried to order drinks, which again they promoted soooooo many different types of "cool" drinks on their social media platform. Only to be told that they don't offer drinks yet, only mimosas (EVEN THOUGH IT WAS PROMOTED ON THEIR IG). I ordered the fish and grits and they weren't bad. Ok so fast forward to last weekend. The restaurant was empty. Literally 5 tables filled max. Once you walk in, the hostess told us that it would be 1 HOUR BEFORE WE GET OUR FOOD AFTER ORDERING. again, trying to give this place a chance, my friend and I said we'll order hookah and drinks and hopefully by then the food will be out. We literally sat at our table for 20 mins and no one came to our table. There was a table directly next to us and the waitress came there about 2 times and even looked us in our faces and never acknowledged us. Another waitress saw us and turned back around. NOT ONE PERSON WAITED ON US. We just got up and left. 2x we tried to support this place. But it's literally just not the move. We ended up going across the water to CANVAS ON GRANBY. Canvas has food, vibes, hookah and amazing service. Don't waste your time at Greenyard... seriously.

Circa 1918 lives up to the hype. It's a tiny, charming joint nestled in the row of boutiques and…read morerestaurants in Historic Hilton Village. This has been high on my "want to try" for a long time and finally saw an opportunity with an available reservation, went for it and am so happy I did. I dined solo, which I rarely do, but this was the perfect place for it. It was apparent that most people dining were regulars. The owner was chatting with just about everyone and diners were popping over to other tables to say hello, as well. Felt like a very small town. Service was perfect - not overbearing, but perfectly timed for a good flow throughout dinner. Their menu changes often, so some of the items I loved, may not be available - but it does seem like their fried oysters are a mainstay and holy moly, they were delicious. I had one cocktail - I believe it was called Watermelon Sugar. It had vodka, aperol and fresh watermelon. Refreshing and smooth. I tried two apps: the fried oysters and the bao buns. Both were fantastic. Perfectly prepared, so much flavor. I think that next time, I would stick to the appetizer section and try many rather than getting an entree. I got the scallops, which were delicious, but the apps wow-ed me more. Prices aren't low, but you get what you pay for - really high quality dishes with lots of thought and execution embedded. I don't say this lightly - this has been added to my top 10 list in all of Hampton Roads!

It's a small, quaint space that gives you that perfect blend of cozy neighborhood vibes with an upscale, refined feel. The food was absolutely outstanding--every dish had unique, well-balanced flavors that clearly showcased the talent of the chef. You can truly tell that a lot of care and creativity goes into the menu. The service made the experience even better. The bartenders were fantastic (James especially stood out!), and the waitstaff were incredibly personable, attentive, and welcoming. Circa 1918 is one of those rare places that feels both like a hidden neighborhood gem and a fine dining experience all in one. We will definitely be back!

It's high-end, which I barely touch due to pricing, but it does not hurt to try something new. Let's see how the evening went. After our entire party arrived, we were all promptly seated. Inside, the decor is perfect. From the bar to the dining area, everything was spotless. You can tell the staff really cares about keeping the place tidy. And they had New Orleans-style music playing through the sound system. Very relaxing. After looking through the menu, I was ready to place my order. I chose their fish special, which was salmon with veggies and a sauce (forgot the name). This dish was very good. It was probably the best cooked salmon I've ever had. When you see seafood with the perfect crust and a lot of flavor, you're in heaven. It did have a small bone and I felt it lacked the amount of squash and zucchini, but again, a wonderful meal. There was one situation which resulted in only a 4-star review. Out of curiousity, I saw on Facebook that they offered $5 discounts. I did let my party know and we were all ready to use them when the bill was ready. But the staff told us the discount was to be used on a table rather than an individual ticket. When we looked both on Facebook and our personal emails, none of that verbage was mentioned. Not trying to sound harsh, but please be sure to state every detail foe customers. We do want to find ways to save some cash out of our wallets. Except for the discount mishap, the visit turned out well. I can say I'll be back to give them anothee go-around. Till next time :)
