WARNING: AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Choose another storage facility…read more Please learn from my mistake and do not be sucked in by promises of cheap storage for the first 3 months. They will bait and switch you and they have horrible customer service. No one was there when I arrived at 1:30pm. I called the phone number, no one answers. I am standing there with 3 movers who are ready to unload, but we can't get past the gate. Eventually someone picks up the phone and rudely says they left to assist other customers (this was a lie, the employee with the poorly drawn on eyebrows was in the back of the office in an employee only area). I say no problem and step inside to fill out paperwork. Right off the bat, this woman had an attitude. She claims I don't have a reservation. I say yes I do, and show her the email. I ask if I can have the driver pull the truck in while we fill out paper work. She smugly says no. Bait and switch #1: she tells me I will have to pay a higher rate for insurance than I was told when I made the reservation. Bait and switch #2: she also tells me I will need to pay 3 months up front (this is fine but it would've been nice if I was informed when I made the reservation and discussed with them over the phone). At this point, I am uncomfortable, annoyed, and getting the impression that she has no interest in helping me. She say that I have an attitude and that I can find storage elsewhere. I understand they have the right to refuse service, but I don't have time to find a new storage facility (moving is stressful enough), so I try to apologize. Asked her what I can do to make this right. She still says no. I tell her to have a wonderful day and inform the moving crew. The movers plead with her because they want to get the job done. No luck, she tells them the same thing: we are not welcome here. We had to call around to other storage facilities and got very lucky to find a cheaper unit at a higher quality facility that doesn't require 3 months payment up front. It all worked out and I'm so glad I didn't give them any of my money. These are terrible people and they don't deserve to be in business.

I didn't get everything I asked for in my original claim, but I got some compensation to offset the many permanent damages to our belongings. The art of negotiating is to create a win-win situation. Not feeling like I won because we lost so much due to the infestations. I was immediately contacted by the property manager Krista, who was unbelievably nice and very accommodating. Krista had an open communication via email from the moment I made the reservation. We were surprised to see how many parking spaces of different sizes this property had. She is the sweetest most accommodating manager I have ever talked to and highly recommend renting from them.

I went into the office and spoke to the office manager. She said she didn't see anything. I pointed to the surveillance cameras and they were pointed where my car is parked. She wouldn't let me review the footage, or contact anyone who could give me permission to see them. She was stonewalling and didn't seem to care that my property had been vandalized. I called the Sheriff department and they came and took a police report. I know for a fact that they are responsible for this but they don't care. Your property is not safe here. The employee (wish I would have taken his name down) was super helpful. He provided the unit prices and answered all our questions. He gave us the tour of the facility and was in no rush of kicking us out. Definitely made us feel welcomed. We've been renting a storage for about 4 months now, so far so good. My only not so much complaint, would be their business hrs, but other than that, everything else is great!

In my many years of working with Westchester Self Storage, they have always answered my question/emails, and pay attention to the little details. Like for example. I rented a van today and Miguel made sure I got the one that was closest to my locker. So nice that he thinks of little things like this but it's not such a "little thing" when something like this prevents having to carry heavy boxes an extra few feet!
