If I could give this place zero stars I would. We got the New York steak special and asked for it to be rare but instead it came out barley cooked and very cold in the middle. When we politely asked for it to be cooked longer they were rude and when it came back out it looked the same. The other evening we stopped in for an adult beverage and they did not disappoint. This is a small place and thus everybody seemed to have multiple roles. The bartender that waited on us was also busy doing some other things. Nonetheless, she was nice, made sure we got what we needed, and invited us to open the drapes when the sun had gone down. Opening the drapes was a great idea, as the energy of the evening was able to be enjoyed from our little table right on the window. As we waited, I got to take a gander at a bit of the food as it was coming out of the kitchen. It sure did make my hungry and it had me wanting dinner here. Just giving facts...not opinions. We arrived on a Monday at 6:00pm. Gave the waitress our food order at 6:15pm. At 6:30pm, received a basket of fantastic garlic bread. Our food arrived at 7:25pm. My lasagna was cold in some areas warm in others. Not piping hot anywhere. Similar to trying to reheat something in a microwave oven. I did get a very large portion, but not very tasty. With everything being ala carte and most entrees $18.95/$19.95, I feel this should be classified as a $$$ not $$. At least know that it's a high-end $$. Looking online I see a lot of menu items that they don't really carry along with prices nowhere near what they charge. I'm not sure why this is and I suppose it doesn't much matter. Just know not to bring your kids here, there are no chicken tenders in the restaurant. And nothing on the menu short of maybe a small salad is $7.95. Back to our evening, we spent most of the meal in the dark because the bulb above our table burned out. The busboy even joked we should have a candlelight dinner. We had dinner last night for a friends birthday. The food as usual was excellent as was the service by waiter Slade who handled the table of ten. The garlic bread is addictive and we kept ordering baskets and baskets. The prawn appetizer was breaded and perfectly fried with Marinara and ranch dressing fur dipping, fabulous. Our dinner salad was crispy and topped with croutons... we had the Italian dressing that was so good we sopped it up with the garlic bread... yummy I had the eggplant Parmesan which was the best in town. The eggplant was fried, topped with loads of fresh mozzarella and a generous topping of marinara sauce. It was served with pasta, green beans and sweet potato purée.. just the right amount of crunch to the breading on the eggplant. My husband had the clams and linguini which was generously loaded with clams in an olive oil and white wine sauce. Topped it all off with a nice glass of wine and tiramisu to die for. The restaurant is warm and cozy and seems to be a locals place, many people dining knew each other. The owner/chef Mark is a perfectionist when it comes to his food, everything is made to order. Not a good value. My wife's Angle hair past with seafood was missing the some seafood, only had 6 small shrimp and a scallop. My Ribeye steak was over cooked. The sides were a veg medley of 3 greenbeans, a slice of zucchini, a slice of yellow squash and orange puree, also a 2 ozside of penne in a white sauce also was served. We had an app of green olives (14.00) while the food was not bad at 100.00 + for dinner for two we should have recieved more and it should have been outstanding, it wasn't. We got there last Saturday night when they first opened. The place had a foul odor. Don't know if it was from the building being old, or the carpet? But that smell finally died-down after meals were being cooked. Our Waitress was nice and accommodating. Anyways, we ordered Calamari for the appetizer and it tasted good and was cooked well. I got the Spaghetti and the Wife got the Pork Tenderloin Special. Both meals were plated well, and were big portions. They were both cooked well, and tasted good. No complaints about the food, itself. The only downside was you had to order bread, separately. Most places include bread with a meal. We found that odd, and kind of off-putting. The meals were high-priced, though. So be wary of that. We will probably go back, but if you're a working Family like we are, you'll only be able to afford this place once a month, or once every other month. I'd give the food 4 Stars. I hadn't been here since before Covid. There were 3 of us. Our meals were good 2 fish and 1 pasta with sausage. The lime cheesecake was superb. Slade, our waiter, was attentive. The only negative were two guys (with wives) behind us. These guys definitely did not attempt, in any way, to use inside voices. We have been meaning to come here for a very long time and finally got around to making a lunch date. First impressions, decor a little on the ketch side and little the worse for wear but comfortable and pleasant. A small bar is on the right as you enter, the dining room is straight ahead and to your left is a very nice selections of wine that you can chose from. The hostess/waitress asked if we wanted garlic bread and we declined. (I'm not really into carbs) But she brought us a complimentary order and though I only sampled a piece it was outstanding. Way above the average garlic bread you get in these parts. Ever love'n on the other hand was delighted at the opportunity to indulge in this very tasty treat. The lunch menu had some very non-Italian items on it including a a nice riff on their Insalata Spinaci Con Gamberi salad, made with blackened shrimp and toasted slivered almonds. The serving size was more then generous and very tasty. Ever love'n chose Fettuccine Alfredo, a dish as his standard to judge any Italian style restaurant we go to. Again the portion was generous and very well prepared. We selected a bottle of Opolo Petite Sarah to go with the meal and ordered the berry cobbler for dessert. We had hoped they had tiramisu but alas that was not to be and the cobbler was the only not so special note of the lunch. Love the food still offers indoor seating with social distancing & takeout. Garlic bread was amazing definitely worth getting the Marinara on the side. I'm giving a 5 star rating because it was so good and everything was made from scratch. But we did go in at 5:30 and unfortunately the special was lasagna which is one of my favorites and I would have ordered it in a min but they had already so out. Our first time to Garibaldi's. Quaint old world feel plenty of tables. Nice staff for sure! The radio was on, some music a lot of commercials. We started off with their garlic bread. Wow, some of the best I have ever had.The menu has a lot of options. Authentic Italian recipes. We each had a glass of wine $8.50 each. I thought just a tad high. Our pasta dishes were very good. Cleanliness: food particles stuck on two forks placed at my table setting Service: confusing... The waitress was disengaged and sarcastic "is this fork clean enough for you?" and then half way through was overly friendly Food: we were very disappointed that half of the mussels and clams were closed in the cioppino. Typically this is caused by them being old or dead. After sending it back we receive another cioppino where some were still closed Final thoughts: my parents raved about the cioppino at this restaurant. They consistently come here multiple times a year (for the past 20 YEARS) when they visit Tahoe. As someone who works in the kitchen myself I was really shocked to see that even after a complaint the dish still had closed mussels/clams. Its very sad to see a chef who isn't diligent enough to initially check the quality of his food let alone to check it once a customer complains. Do not charge absurd prices for food if the quality and care is not there. read more

I can absolutely say this is the best place I have tried in Carson for Italian food. It is a right in the heart of Downtown Carson City right next to The Basil restaurant. What I loved about this place was they made everything from scratch and if they didn't they were 100% honest about. take for example their Lasagna. They had made it from the day before so when I ordered and asked the server is it made from scratch and fresh, he told me we make our Lasagna three times a week and the last time we made it was yesterday. That honesty goes a long way with me. My fiance ordered their ravioli which was made from scratch that morning and was the special. The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is because of their dessert menu. I asked the server what was made fresh and he replied with the two items out of the 8. Not that's no big deal but he continued to tell me that the other 6 dishes were from Costco. haha. Come on mannnn!! How you gonna charge a premium price for a slice of Costco cake. Now don't get me wrong Costco is good but not fine dining good. Overall I will continue to come back. Excellent place. read more

This restaurant was the go to Italian restaurant in Carson City when I lived there. Recently I recommended the place to some very good friends. Unfortunately the attitude of the staff was rude, unprofessional and had this attitude that they were bothered by clientele coming in for a meal. My friends were made to wait an inordinate amount of time to be acknowledged, there were plenty of tables available, but were told that tables (one) needed to be cleared, and the icing on the cake was just overall rudeness of bartender and servers. Not sure if it is the same ownership, maybe Mark and Annette sold the business. If so new owners or current "managers" need to read some Tom Hopkins books on how to run a successful business. Very disappointing too say the least. Obviously the review in local newspaper is misleading. read more

Awful food, service was fine, but my Lord, we were charged 45$ for a comically huge steak that was not cooked, tough, and served with strange peices of penne on the plate and two raw zucchini medallions. I ordered the ciopinno, which was cold, and also filled with random penne? The mussels were actually bad, like they had turned, shrimp and scallops were overcooked and the clams and mussels were both undercooked somehow.
