Garlic Crush is located right next to the Redmond Downtown Park. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Our server was nice and the food came to us quickly. The last few times I picked up food the employees have been so rude. They can't be bothered to smile and say hi when you go up to order. When you do order they just stare at you and don't say anything. Ordered online via Postmates. Our order was one falafel platter and chicken shawarma platter. Food was good but not what we ordered. Had to wait for almost half an more after the given pick up time. I was told that shwarma was not ready thus the delay. I was offered a free Baklava for my excessive wait time. Which made me appreciate their service. Ok, any restaurant with Garlic in its name already has my attention. Very modern interior with plenty of seating inside. Prices were very reasonable. I got a gyro plate with fries. I don't know what kind of seasoning they use, but the meat was fantastic. They also put some special seasoning on the fries as well. It's good for what it is. Fast, casual, Middle Eastern food. Is it the best Middle Eastern food ever? Nope. But we were pretty satisfied with the flavor and portions. Prices are a little higher than some of the similar Greek places. But I think the food is a little bit better as well. We ordered the kids gyro plate and chicken plate, the mezze platter, and the falafel wrap. If I can make one major criticism, I would like more interesting vegetarian items on the menu (it would have been nice to have something other than falafel as a choice). But I understand that a place like this can't have too deep of a menu. Food: Both the meats had very good flavor. The chicken was nicely marinated and was very moist. Unfortunately, my kids did not like it. Too much flavor for them! The rice that came with the dishes was lemony as well but they seemed to like that just fine (I did too). Falafel sandwich was pretty typical. The falafel style is not my favorite (I prefer the ones that are greener which means they contain fresh parsley and coriander). If you order this, make sure to put plenty of shataa on it (Arabic sambal basically). In fact, put this on everything. It was delicious! And they let you get as much as you want. Mezze plate - good baba ghanouj (not the best), hummus was a little weak (not enough garlic or lemon, too much tahini), tabouli was also a little weak (waaay too much bulgur and not enough herbs), good grape leaves, great turnip pickles! wish they would give out more of those.... Both the dishes had the rice and the Bread. The difference was the soup / salad which was extra in kebab plate. The Chicken was cooked very well and was tasty. They happened to give more rice with the dish when compared to their Bellevue outlet. The Meat in the Shawarma were smaller pieces and blended well with the rice. I must say that honestly I expected them to give the Shawarma in the form of a wrap because that is the way I have seen Shawarma being given at many Mediterranean cuisines. I really like this place! I got almost all of the vegetarian appetizers. Everything was very good, except the pita bread, which was average and room temperature. I loved how some of the appetizers came with veggies and a yogurt sauce drizzled all over it. I was there at 11:40 AM Plenty of help inside. I placed my order, there was only one other customer there. The two women behind the counter talked and talked and talked finally one of them put my soup in a container and they continued to gab talking about a car accident one had and on and on and on finally I got up to go get my phone out of my car so that I could record their conversation to share with management. So frustrating to wait and wait and wait while watching the hen party. When they saw me come back in suddenly they finished my order. Food here is pretty bad. The lamb plate and combo are both really dry. Rice is hard; typically Mediterranean cuisine uses basmati rice, but this place uses some pretty hard rice. It's fresh with green lettuce, onions and tomatoes, and savory with olives, feta, and gyro meat. Only one recommendation for the restaurant seating is to consider some larger metal seats for your "larger" guests, if you ever think of replacing them. We always order the chicken kabob plate which has never disappointed us. You first get a light salad which is unbelievable with a lemon dressing. So when I ordered a sharwarma combo they offered me a canned soda instead... for an additional $1.00 charge! After waiting 30 minutes for a shawarma sandwich I approached the counter and asked how much longer because I had to go. My meal was just sitting back there in the kitchen chilling the whole time. I like this restaurant and the garlic paste is addictive but I can't go there anymore because I can't justify the price. A kid's chicken and rice plate comes with 4 bites of chicken and a scoop of rice at $11.35. If I get a chicken kabob alone it is $6.25. This means I am paying $5.10 for a kid's scoop of rice, not including tax/tip. The whole meal used to cost $6.25 before the pandemic. And if ordering through DoorDash, it's even worse. I get inflation but more and more I find restaurants charging completely unreasonable prices for very cheap items, like $5+ for a scoop of rice or a tortilla or beans. I hope people don't roll over and pay for unreasonably priced items because it shows the market can handle the increases and just encourages more increases. Take a stand. Send a message and maybe people will think twice about raising their prices for unrealistic and unfair capital gains. read more

The chicken kebab plate and chicken kebab salad are my favorite here at Garlic Crush, I don't know they feed their chicken, but it's perfectly seasoned and grilled. I debate between those 2 dishes depending on how hungry I am. The chicken kebab plate has rice, a piece of pita, humus, garlic sauce, and between a choice of lintel soup or side salad so that's a lot of food, most of the time I am able to save half the food for a 2nd meal throughout the day. The salad has the same type of chicken as the plate, but in a salad form, it's soooo good and refreshing. I occasionally get the shawarma plate also. The fries here are good if you literally just want a snack. I was being cheap once and got a chicken kebab kid's meal since I can't ever finish it and it's like half the price, but it's not the same because it didn't come with the condiments that makes it tasty. I used to like Mediterranean food, but after my last two times having it, I don't think I'll seek it out anymore, and this is one of the places that have drawn me away.
