    Charcuterie! Yum!
    cicero m.

We will be back. The charcuterie was amazing. The meats were so "Italian". Nicely done. The cauliflower was interestingly pickled. The cheeses were fabulous. Gorgonzola. Provolone. Not sure of others. Little wafers that reminded me of communion. Ha! Pistachio. Mini raisin. Apple slices. Do try. The PEI mussels were delicious. Just slightly spiced. A touch of lemon. Very very good. We came just for apps and we conquered. Hey Bobby. Are you reading this?

Went here spur of the moment to get a snack. Nice place. Love the town. The salad was delicious. Chicken and waffles was eh. And the hummus dipping plate was ok. All and all it was ok. Staff very nice. Place was clean. But the price shocked me. 3 appetizers 2 drinks. $70!!!! Dollars. Couldn't believe it I actually checked the bill. I honestly don't think I would choose it again but I would go if someone else wanted to.

Q: what restaurant doesn't have high chairs? A: Gaslight. Not only does this restaurant not have high chairs they also don't seem to have uncooked onions. But they have sautéed onions. Weird to me. My husband and I stopped in for a beer and some lunch with our 6 month old. We asked for a high chair and were told they had none. My husband had to go back to the car in the cold to get the car seat. Next we ordered food, my husband ordered the gaslight burger but requested that the onions be fresh rather than sautéed. They could not accommodate that request and we were told that they didn't have onions that were not sautéed. We wondered how the sauteed onions got that way. We stayed, I ordered fish and chips. For $16 they were cafeteria quality at best. You have to wonder how fresh anything is when the restaurant can't come up with a freshly cut onion slice. My advice to the restaurant would be that the people who like to go to bars for lunch inevitably grow up and have families. Those people still like to sit down for some good beer and food. These people also have money. This place is really trying hard to tell thirty somethings that like good food and beer but have kids to go somewhere else. I suggest we listen. Edited to add: they serve tap water out of old tequila bottles. This is a cute idea however, there is no way these bottles can be properly washed and sanitized with the mouths of the bottles being so small. The bottles are ALL brownish in color due to this fact. It is very off putting

Love coming here for drinks and their chocolate ganache with peanut butter! Would love to love their food, but I'm vegetarian, and they just don't have a lot of options for vegetarians other than salads and sides. I'd love to see some meat substitutes! I would eat here way more often if they did.

Love this place, we have had several of the items on the menu and all were very good. I love their wings. Excellent beer selection.

The shrimp and grits were fantastic . The way they cook corn on the cob is how I now have to cook it... A must try.

The menu was large and we had two options as part of a food tour I was on. I was able to try the scarpariello wings and boardwalk pizza. The wings were wood-fired with their special blend of seasoning and sauce along with cherry peppers. These were really tasty. The wings were a good size and the chicken fell right off the bone. The sauce had a slight kick to it with the cherry peppers present. The wood aspect of this dish was very noticeable too. The boardwalk pizza had house-made chorizo sausage, green pepper, onion, parmesan, Pomodoro, oregano, and red pepper flakes. This was alright. The crust was a little underdone for me, so it was a little flabby. The chorizo was the best part. I feel like jalapenos would have been a better choice of pepper here. The sauce was light and appetizing too. I also had a piece of bread that came out warm and paired nicely with the sauce from the wings. I was glad bread was provided to soak up that sauce! Will I go back? Probably.

Brunch, Great Food & 125+ Drafts? Yes, Please!…read more We stopped at Maloney's Pub & Grill in downtown Matawan for brunch, and let me tell you... this was the best idea ever! The first thing that grabs your attention when you walk in is the massive lineup of draft beers. Maloney's is known for its incredible rotating draft selection, with more than 125 taps featuring everything from IPAs and stouts to ciders, meads, Belgian ales, German lagers, and more. And if you're staring at that wall of choices thinking, "How in the world am I supposed to choose?" -- no worries! They're happy to let you sample a beer before committing. Now THAT is my kind of place! The restaurant has a really comfortable setup with plenty of seating. You'll find booths that are perfect for a date night, an open dining room for larger groups, outdoor seating when the weather cooperates, and of course plenty of seats at the bar if you just want to grab a drink and relax. And while the beer selection is definitely a major attraction, the food deserves just as much attention. Their menu goes well beyond typical pub food, with steaks, seafood, burgers, sandwiches, salads and more. They also offer Sunday brunch from 12-3 p.m. What We Ordered: Steak & Eggs A nicely grilled NY sirloin served with two eggs and home-fried potatoes. A classic brunch combination done right. Chicken B.L.T.A. Grilled chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado and ranch dressing. This was loaded with all the good stuff and packed with flavor. Salmon Piccata North Atlantic salmon fillet with lemon, capers and a white wine sauce, served with mashed potatoes. The lemon and caper combination really worked with the salmon. Blackened Ahi Tuna Salad Blackened ahi tuna over mixed greens with avocado, sesame seeds, red onion and a house lemon-herb vinaigrette. A great option if you're looking for something a little lighter without sacrificing flavor. Crispy Chipotle Chicken Sandwich Panko-crusted chicken breast with chipotle ranch spread, cheddar cheese, avocado, lettuce and tomato, served with tater tots. Crispy, creamy, cheesy and satisfying -- what's not to like? Everything came out hot, fresh and in a timely manner, which is exactly what you want when you're dining with a larger group ordering several different dishes. And honestly, just thinking about that meal has my mouth watering all over again! A special shout-out to our server Jeanette, who was fantastic. She was friendly, pleasant and attentive without hovering, checking on us throughout the meal and making sure we had everything we needed, including keeping those water glasses filled. Great service can make an already enjoyable meal that much better. Maloney's has been part of downtown Matawan since 2005, and I can definitely see why it has become a local destination. Whether you're stopping in for Sunday brunch, meeting friends for dinner, looking for a great burger or steak, or simply want to explore their enormous rotating beer selection, there's plenty here to keep you coming back. (maloneys) If you're in the Matawan area and looking for a brunch spot with great food, a fun atmosphere and an unbelievable selection of drafts, put Maloney's on your list! We'll definitely be back -- next time, I'm exploring more of that beer list and trying something else from the menu!
