(The gate opened too far and fell off the tracks.) However, the situation took a sharp turn when they contacted my grandmother again, claiming that an entire new motor was needed for a staggering $5,400. What's truly concerning here is that the company made this determination without even physically inspecting the equipment. This assessment was made without a proper evaluation, and it felt more like an attempt to prey on my grandparents' presumed lack of knowledge. What becomes evident in this situation is a complete lack of integrity and a concerning willingness to exploit the elderly. The company's approach was not only dishonest but also potentially a financial burden for my grandparents. Thankfully, my grandparents maintenance man visited, assessed the situation, and fixed the gate within 20 minutes, saving them an exorbitant $5,400. Clearly, a new motor was not necessary, and the company's "assessment" was inaccurate. I must also mention that the customer service provided throughout this ordeal was appalling. Finally several days later one company did show up but they didn't have the right parts and basically it was back and forth for a few weeks and my gate was still not fix ed. then , I went online again and came across GATES EXPRESS INC. the service was amazing! they show up the same day even though it was after hours, late at night, the technician showed up on time without extra charge. He had all the parts in the back of his truck and got all the work done in couple hours . We contacted Gate Express to repair our electric gate. The engineer (Roy arrived the next day when expected and confirmed the issues. Following his inspection, he gave a very clear explanation of what was causing the problems and explained the options. I chose my preferred option and after checking with his office he stayed on to complete the work for a very reasonable additional fee. I called Gates Express to fix a rolling gate that came off the track. David quoted me over $1000!! I said no way, he said, "Ok, $850." Again I said that's outrageous. Told him I'd get another quote, he says he'll do it for $450. OMG! Needless to say I didn't hire him and got another company who put it back on in 10 seconds and charged a nominal service fee. I was glad to have called David to fix the motor of my gate. It runs on horizontal tracks and that is always tricky when you live on a hill.
