Family celebrations! Sober birthdays and amazing fun!

This place is like a second home to me. Everyone who works here is top tier friendly, helpful, gives great service and is so welcoming and friendly to everyone who comes in here. As a queer person, drag queen, and a person in recovery, this place is not only safe, but affirming and celebrates its many lgbtqia+ customers who are like family as well. Dan has been a protective brother to me. Has listened to me in times of crisis and I feel safe and valued here by him. Cora is the sweetest person in the whole world. She is an amazing kavatender and provides excellent customer service. Seabass is attentive as a kavatender and pays attention to details and makes my favorite drink perfectly. He's also so sweet and easy to talk to. Paul is someone I can go to for advice, he is an amazing kavatender who crafts new and creative drinks, on top of making great kava. Shannon the owner truly cares about her regulars. She has created an environment that is safe, supportive and truly welcoming to all. She is also the genius behind many of the drinks here. The kava here is the best in town! Seriously you can't get better flavor and the strength of the kava is double its competitors. So if you're looking for some great kava with a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, check them out!

My first time ever experiencing a Kava bar. It was destiny, since I'm on a road to sobriety. I was greeted by Garret the Kavatender, he explained to me what Kava was. He also gave me a generous sample to try. It tasted very earthy, it is a root of a plant. It had the kava powder mixed with water. I liked it. I order a lemon and ginger flavor and i absolutely love that one. It's funny how it makes my mouth tingle. I love this simple decor kava bar. They serve coffee in the morning. I need to try their coffee, there a lot of lounging space and wall outlet to charge your electronic if needed. They have a back patio and it's dog friendly. My kavatender was awesome and knowledgeable. I would recommend this place, a great place for my non alcoholic peeps.

This is a nice new coffee shop and late night Kava lounge in North Park. I picked up an iced Americano with whole milk. The Americano was tasty and came with a good amount of milk. I did feel that the espresso needed to be stronger, meaning less water or more coffee. The young gent who made my Americano was in high spirits and friendly. They offer inside and outside seating. I may have to try Kava someday.

Kava is an acquired taste. The flight consisted of six drinks. The first tasting was plain and disgusting. The other five drinks got better with each one flavored. Shannon, the owner, poured each drink and explained what kava was and how to drink it. The bar was dark with loud music from the 80s and 90s. Overall, it was a fun and unique experience.

So I made the trek over. Heads up: there's construction nearby, so parking was a struggle. Unfortunately, the visit ended up being a bit of a letdown. First off, they didn't have ice. I like my morning drinks iced, and I still ordered the bibingka latte, but it came without ice -- I ended up having to grab some from another restaurant since my work doesn't have a fridge. I was also excited for the longanisa sandwich, but they didn't have any hot sandwiches. What they did have was cheese rolls, a guava-filled ensaymada, and pandesal. The pastries were frozen, so he had to warm them up, which took a while. On the drink, I'd give it a 2.5/5. It was OK, but not something I'd order again. It was a balance of sweet and savory, with hints of rice flour and coconut milk -- but even ordering it less sweet, it still came out too sweet for me. The pastries were also just OK. My favorite of the bunch was the ensaymada. I really wanted to love this place given the concept, but between the missing ice, no hot sandwiches, and the frozen pastries, it didn't quite come together this visit.

I ordered the Cinnamon French Toast, and honestly it didn't really meet my expectations. It was a little too dry for me, and I was hoping it would be more soft and syrupy. That said, some of my friends really enjoyed what they ordered. The service itself was good though, the waiters checked on us often and were attentive throughout. They also brought out free birthday shots for the table, which was a fun and thoughtful touch.

I ordered the Chance Vietnamese Coffee, and the order didn't take long to be made despite the morning rush. The drink was very silky at first, but that's about all it had going for it. I even went home and tried to modify it by adding cold brew, cream and honey and even sea salt to cut the flavor away, but the medicinal herbal flavors were just too strong.
