Kielbasa Special served with a large basket of fresh bread.

We found this little gem on line and thought we would try something different. We were greeted as soon as we arrived and told to sit anyplace we like. It's a small dinning area. And wasn't too busy on a Friday evening. We were promptly given menus and served water and an ice tea. We ordered a Gyro and a Kielbasa Special. The Kielbasa Special was served with four different types of Pierogis covered in onions and fresh sauerkraut as well as a large Kielbasa. My meal was also served with a basket of fresh bread and butter. I have never had this type of food and found it delicious! The Gyro meat was a bit different than what we were expecting. The meat had a red tint to it. The portions were quit large. They had a large selection of sweet treat that we didn't indulge in. The service and decor were very nice. I would highly recommend this restaurant especially if you haven't had Polish cuisine.

Gaufre's & Goods is a place we couldn't believe he had never been to let alone heard of so when we were visiting and walked by we had to try it out and glad we did. Gaufre's & Goods is tucked away down a back street so if you're not looking for it you most likely will miss it. We came in for a late lunch but were not looking for something super heavy so this was perfect. I started off with a Hevelius Kaper Beer which I really enjoyed. They also had a lot of other Greek and Polish beers that I had never heard of so you gotta try one. For my entree I originally was going to go with the Gyro but then I saw that they have Goulash which I very much enjoy but rarely can find it. Our food came out pretty quickly and I was give a large bowl of Goulash as well as some fresh bread. Ashley of course went with a Mix of Pierogies and added bacon & onions to it. My Goulash was very flavor and dipping the bread in the broth was great. I will say it was thinner then other Goulash's I have had. This was more of a broth base where I enjoy a bit of a thicker stew type. Still something I would recommend getting especially with the limited option we have in the area and this will hit the spot. Ashley also did get a order of Blackberry Pierogies that I never got to try since she ran off with it after we got back to where we were staying. This is for sure a great family restaurant you have to check out.

Tucked away in an alley way in the heart of downtown, Gaufre's offers a unique and unexpected pairing of authentic Greek and Polish cuisine. The cozy interior set the tone, and our servers were cheerful and welcoming. We started with ice cold Polish beer while deciding on our meal. The beer was served in perfectly chilled glass with a thin layer of ice which was a great touch. We shared a Greek salad to start. It was incredibly fresh and flavorful, generously loaded with insane amount of feta (no complaints here). For the main, I got the Kielbasa special which came with 4 pierogies (you can mix and match the fillings), Kielbasa sausage and sauerkraut. The potato&cheese pierogies were my favorite, subtle in flavor, perfectly textured and tasted like true homemade comfort food. The sauerkraut was also hands down some of the best I've ever had. Sadly I have no room to try desserts. This was the best meal of my entire trip, and I'll absolutely be back to try more dishes if I'm in town.

Had lunch at this place which has authentic Polish & Greek food. Food was delish. Service was good. Ambiance could be better with some upgrades inside, however, all the time we were there, they played lovely music from these two countries. If you are in the area, try this place out, and consider sharing your experiences. Happy meals!

While wondering around downtown St Augustine before an event we stumbled upon this charming spot and I was craving pierogis so we decided to check it out. Now I am the type of person that is basically craving pierogis 24/7 but not all pierogis are crave worthy. I am very pleased to say these were absolutely pierogis worth craving! Also the people that work there made everyone that walked in feel like family which also makes me crave going back! I got the assortment of pierogis and each one was delicious! My favorite was the one with mushrooms but really I don't think you could go wrong with any of the options. I also ordered the dessert pierogis to go and shared them with a group of people we all agreed they were a perfect treat! If you are looking for a place to grab a bite I would highly suggest checking this place out.

You first walk into the charming place from an alleyway off one of my favorite streets in downtown St. Augustine.. Aviles Street. Once inside you immediately realize how special this gem is.. and you have not even had the food yet! We had a variety of pan fried pierogis, topped with onions (you can add bacon too!) and sour cream. The Horiatiki salad was so good with tons of feta and ripe tomatoes. The Greek salad was also very traditional and tasty. Lentil soup was special.. but the Yemista was so full of flavor we may have to go back just for it again. Worse part was the bread.. and that was easy enough to avoid lol. A definite must when you visit the ancient city for sure!

This was such an awesome little find tucked away in an alleyway, the only reason we knew about it was because our trolley driver mentioned it was his favorite restaurant in st augustine. It was a chillier day so pierogis sounded amazing! We started with the Greek sampler platter that had tzatziki, eggplant salad, and hummus as well as olives and tomatoes. It was served with warm pita and other types of bread SO GOOD. We also had the grape leaves which were extremely tasty with feta, tomato and onion. I had their borsch (theirs was warm) with beet cubes and mushroom dumplings OUTSTANDING. For mains, i had the blueberry pierogis which were so unique i had to try. The only problem is they are pretty sweet they come with sour cream but also whipped cream and brown sugar. Still delicious but i wished i chose a cheese and potato. My friend had a stew that came with 4 savory pierogis and she really enjoyed it. you can tell this place is authentic! Waiter was quick and helpful. One thing is the indoor seating is freezing so bring a coat or sit outside like we did.

Stopped in for lunch on Saturday when restaurant opened. This place has a unique menu of Greek and Polish food. This is a small cafe with about 8 tables. No outside tables. The food and service were excellent. We were a party of four. We ordered spinach pie, gyro, pierogis, Greek sampler platter, and baklava. The portions are large. Food seemed all home made. Hours are 11-6 pm, closed on Tuesday. No parking as it is in the historic district. Best to walk or Uber.

The food is always really tasty. We've been here several times and it never disappoints. I ordered the stuffed cabbage platter that comes with pierogies. I ordered the plum sweet pierogies and they were the most delicious tasting pierogies I've ever had. My husband got just pierogies and was not disappointed. My youngest son ordered the kielbasa platter and blueberry pierogies. He said the sauerkraut was the best he's had! My oldest son had the hunters stew and loved it too! Service was excellent and helpful. The restaurant was packed for a Saturday afternoon but we could talk and not have to yell. Definitely recommend if you love Greek food or Polish. One of our places to eat.

Meh. Wanted authentic kielbasa, what we got was like Hillshire Farm. Mustard was really good. Made the sausage tolerable. Pierogis were good, but nothing special. Expensive for what you get. $75 for three people. Gyro wasn't lamb, pretty sure it was grisly pork. While it's a nice alternative to have for variety over fast food, it's not going to satisfy anyone looking for real Greek or Polish fare.

One of our favorite spots in St. Augustine. Very quaint- only a handful of tables . The vibe is very casual, homecooked hearty meal. The food is amazing and the servings are hefty. The server was super friendly and knowledgeable. We had the kielbasa lunch special with meat peirogis and Bigo, and then potato and cheese pierogis. Yum!

This is their Krupnik (Barley Soup). Absolutely delicious on a cold day. (Only available in certain times of the year)

I've spent a lot of time in St. Augustine, yet yesterday was my first experience at this hidden gem. The food was fresh and delicious. A little more pricey than I expected, but I feel it was well worth the amount and the flavor of the food. Everyone there was friendly and willing to give suggestions on the menu. The restaurant is small, but it conveys a homey, relaxed environment. I highly suggest you check them out on your next trip!

Authentic, homemade polish and Greek dishes! I am so happy I stumbled across this gem.. It felt like I was sitting in my grandparents kitchen. The spicy coconut soup was savory and kept us guessing on the ingredients. The pierogis were freshly homemade and flavorful and the "small" Greek salad was huge with large portion of gyro meat. Highly recommend, I am visiting St. Augustine for a short time and I am even tempted to return!

This place is awesome! Seemingly random pairing of foods (the chipper, friendly waitress let us know its because the owners were polish but left poland for greece before coming to america). I had some homemade pierogies (some with spinach, some with potato and cheese that were the best) as well as spanikopita, which was also amazing. reasonable prices, beer and wine, and nice dining area, what more could you want. oh, live music? they had that too. read more

We came for brunch and it was delicious. We split the Mediterranean sampler and they provided fresh veggies in place of the pita bread for me (I can't have the pita). My husband got the sautéed pierogi with onions and I had the goulash. Both were so good and it all tasted like homemade food. read more

Do yourself a favor and stop in to a delicious little Polish & Greek cafe on Aviles Street called Gaufre's & Goods. They serve a limited, but delicious, blend of Polish and Greek fare that happens to include my favorite - PIEROGIES! - fresh and available in a variety of fillings: four cheese, potato, spinach, and mushroom&sauerkraut. They also serve up classic spinach feta pies, borsch (red beet soup), icy Polish brews, and rich cafe mochas. Say goodbye to Mrs. T's because once you've gone fresh, you can't go back. This place was perfect. Small, full, and delicious. Nice staff, good service. Everything was spot on. I'm already looking forward to my next visit! read more

This is a great home cooking restaurant, Polish / Greek ( odd combination but it works ) Great selection of Polish beers. The soups, which include coconut and cold borscht are outstanding. I heard about this place and thought "nah". But my fiance convinced me to come in. For that I am so thankful. I loved my experience in this adorable little Polish/Greek restaurant. The owners are Polish but both emigrated to Greece. The result is awesome European food. I ordered spinach and potato pierogies and a spanikopita. The service was amazing and the food was so so so good. Well priced, too. In the future I will be opting out of overpriced tourist food in order to come back here. It was so good and I honestly felt so happy and full for the rest of the night! read more

Stumbled across this place when we were here after my wife finished up a photo shoot. We were both starving. When we walked by the food smelled great and a couple of diners outside said it was very good so we took a table outside and gave it a go. The service was great, the staff friendly and attentive. Both of us tried the special which was polish sausage with sauerkraut. It also came with some pierogis. I also tried the curry chicken soup and my wife the borscht. The soups were excellent. The sausage and kraut was ok but the pierogis were outstanding. I could have eaten nothing but those. If we ever find ourselves back we will give it another try. Only got 3 stars in case it was just a one off experience but I don't think so. read more

One of our all time St. Auggie favorites. Everything is homemade and you can taste the love. Our favorite pierogies are the mushroom saurkraut sauteed with onions-pure heaven! Their Bigos, golombki, and borscht are so yummy that I have a hard time choosing- the combos save you some pain of having to pick. It is a hidden gem we have loved for well over a decade! read more

Stumbled upon this place walking around. Ordered the trio and a glass of white wine. The wine menu is very interesting and a little overwhelming but the server was extremely knowledgeable and gave me a glass of wine that fit my pallet perfectly. I highly recommend if you want a quiet snack while walking around. read more

Yes, this place is cute. Portions seemed small for the price. Ok, it's a tourist town. What is hard for me is service that seem utterly bored and inconvenienced like they would rather be doing literally anything anything else in the whole world, like their taxes or visiting the dentist. The place wasn't that crowded. Waited a long time for food with no check ins. I don't know. Food was tasty!! Maybe just having a bad day. read more

Nice atmosphere and great location in St. Augustine. The food is really good, we had the cold beet soup, the stuffed pepper and tomato, and the stuffed cabbage. Everything was great and the portions were too much for us to eat. Maybe split something so you will have room left for baklava. read more

I am trying to understand how this place got 4.5 starts on Yelp. One of the worst places that I had polish food from. Mussles had Vegeta added as a spice. Who does that? it's been 8 hours since we both aet and we both still have an indigestion. Plus, please work on the ambiance. It looks like Poland from before 1920's. This food would not get passed in Poland even as a mediocre. I hate giving bad reviews, but this place needs a major make over with food and ambiance. read more

Yum! We chose this place to avoid another over priced sandwich downtown. We are regulars to the area and have tried an array of restaurants. We ordered the greek salad that was very fresh and crisp. The perogies are great! We had the steamed assortment and loved everyone. We also got the tzatziki and pita, yum! The best part was the greek beer and chocolate baklava. The waffles looked amazing, so a taste next time. The service was attentive and friendly. A family owned and operated shop that we will visit again. read more

What a gem in St Augustine! My husband ordered the kielbasa and I enjoyed a mix of pierogis -- spinach, cheese and meat! Great service, nice wine, very authentic. We started with the Sampler appetizer and it was tasty. You can dine inside or outside. Not overly crowded -- just a short walk from the square. read more

I don't care who you are. I don't care where you come from or where you've been. I don't care what you think you know about gyros. This restaurant has THE BEST damn gyro you will ever eat in your entire life. I seriously can't believe how good it was. I want to move to St. Augustine just so I can eat this gyro on a regular basis. Also tried the hummus and the perigees. Both were phenomenal as well. read more

Its a really cute place that is outside of the main road. We're not from around here, and we had gotten lost looking for parking, which is how we qccidentslly stumbled across this place. Its really clean and neat. We got the perogies (sp?) And they were absolutely delicious! I recommend getting it with onions. read more

Wow! Born and raised in St.A and finally tried this place. Great food, good service and a quaint feel. A very good selection of Greek and Mediterranean food and beers. The most annoying thing about Gaufre's is that it is so good that we never bother trying anything else! We have been to St Augustine 4 times and can never pull ourselves away from this charming little family place that is off the beaten path. The feta pie is our absolute favorite but the blueberry pierogis are a different kind of favorite. The mussels are seasoned perfectly and the chicken Gyro was tender and tasty! We've sampled almost everything and it's all been a delight. The pierogis are a real treat though because it is hard enough to find someone in Florida who even knows what a pierogi is, let alone how to make them! We love Gaufre's and hope to keep coming for years and years. read more

The fam and I hit up Gaufres & Goods yesterday after we found them on Yelp. The place is just adorable and the servers are the real deal polish gals. We decided on trying several things and found each very good. We tried the stuffed cabbage, the Polish sampler, greek salad, a bottle of beer and the sweet wine (really good!). Just due to my sweet tooth I wish that I would have had the home made waffles ~ they looked SO good! We did top the meal off with baklava and a cannoli that we ended up squabbling over due to the fact that they were so delicious. The only negative is that there isn't any parking close to the restaurant. It is located on a one-way alley, which, by the way is just uber cute, but then again, St Aug is like that through-and-through. read more

This place was amazing! The perogies are to die for, I got a sampler of perogies and tried them all! All amazing! My husband loved the Taste of Poland and the polish stout beer was one of the best stouts we have ever had! Just as good as the food was the service and Grace was wonderful. She even helped me brush up on my polish heritage And explained what my grandmothers polish last name meant. This place is a gem and not to be missed! read more

As with every previous visit, the food and service were both excellent. The mushroom and sauerkraut pierogies are amazing, so are the meat filled pyczy. Be sure to order them all with onion and bacon. The spicy Thai/Polish chicken soup, an invention of one of the owners is a must try. I was told the spinach and cheese pie was also 5 star in taste. It was also a large portion. They have a nice assortment of foreign beers too. read more

My wife and I stopped by on our recent visit to St. Augustine and were pleasantly surprised of this restaurant. The restaurant was cozy and the staff was very nice and accommodating. Since we are familiar with both Polish and Greek cuisines we figured the dinner would be interesting. As expected, the traditional Polish plates were just that; pierogis, bigos, pyzy and kielbasa. Having experienced traditional Polish cooking all my life the food was average at best, but plentiful. I would definitely recommend this establishment when visiting St. Augustine. The waitress was extremely pleasant and the owner just as nice. A welcoming place to eat. read more

This place is fantastic. Every bite was followed by mmmmmm. My wife ordered potato and cheese pierogies and I ordered the Pyzies. Both were equally good. We went back the next day. I can't wait to go back and order the Gaufres (waffle) because they looked unbelievable. If you don't like trying new things, this may not be for you. read more

We went to this place while on a tasting tour in St Augustine. The place is small and quaint and has a small European village feel. A-May-Zing! Went back to Gaufre's & Goods after having not been for a few years and so happy I revisited this one! First of all, they relocated right around the corner into a bit larger space that is still homely and quaint. Decor is lovely and sweet. Food remains DELICIOUS! We had the spinach pie, greek salad, spinach pierogies & potato pierogies and every bite was as delightful as the first. Thanks for keeping the homemade tradition going. They all sounded yummy; but we decided on Twix Fix, drizzled with caramel, melted chocolate, and cookies, and Lotus Crunch, which was topped with melted Biscoff cookies. Our order was ready in about 5 minutes and the bag of donuts was nice and warm. We ate them when we got back home. They were more chewy and heavier than regular donut holes, but rich and delicious. You could really only eat a few; so a box of 10 is a decent sized dessert for 2 people to share. Lukumades is definitely a very unique donut experience and worth supporting because they're not a huge chain. You'll be glad you tried them....and its worth the drive.

I ordered the sauerkraut & cheese pirogies, with a small Greek salad. I also shared the Golumpki and chocolate dipped Baklava with my dad. The pirogies were made by someone who knew what they were doing, tasted just like grandma's. Our waitress was Hana who was very attentive, and friendly. Those are usually the meals I remember long after the vacation is over. The challenge is that sometimes you find one of those places and quickly realize you're not part of the club. The Wheel is the exact opposite! Every single time we've visited, we're greeted with a warm, genuine "Welcome in!" followed by "You can sit anywhere." It seems like such a small thing, but it immediately makes you feel like you're supposed to be there. Whether it's your first visit or your fiftieth, everyone receives the same warm welcome. My husband and I live about 30 minutes south of St. Augustine, and anytime we're in town around lunchtime, The Wheel is one of our favorite stops. We've been back multiple times since they reopened, and the consistency has been every bit as impressive as the food. For those of us who grew up here, though, this place is something even more special. Longtime locals probably remember The Cheese Wheel. Back in high school, once you finally got your driver's license and escaped the school bus, this was one of the lunch spots. Their chicken salad had a loyal following, and if you got there too late, there was a good chance they had already sold out. When The Cheese Wheel eventually closed, it felt like a little piece of St. Augustine disappeared. Thankfully, members of the original Cheese Wheel family brought those recipes back as The Wheel, carrying on the traditions and recipes they learned from the original owners. It may not be the same building, but one bite instantly took me back. Our first visit after they reopened was in February 2025. The line stretched outside the door, and it was obvious St. Augustine had been waiting for this day. You could tell they were busy, but you couldn't tell they were overwhelmed. One employee stayed at the entrance the entire time, greeting guests, explaining the process, keeping an eye on open tables, and directing people as seats became available. They handled the rush with organization, efficiency, and a smile. That first visit showed us they could handle opening-day crowds. Every visit since has shown us that's simply who they are. Our go-to order has always been the Tuna Ryder with an order of shoestring fries. This visit we weren't overly hungry, and we had dinner plans later, so we decided to split one. The kitchen divided it perfectly before bringing it to the table. Everything stayed neatly tucked inside the pita instead of falling apart, the tuna salad was dressed just right without being overloaded with mayo, and every bite had that same fresh, balanced flavor we've come to expect. They even surprised us with two full pickle spears instead of splitting one in half. It's a tiny detail, but it's exactly those little touches that leave a lasting impression. The shoestring fries arrived hot, crispy, and every bit as addictive as we remembered. The dining room is clean, casual, and comfortable. Nothing pretentious. Just good food, friendly people, and an atmosphere that invites you to slow down and enjoy lunch. After multiple visits over the past year and a half, that's what stands out most. Great food brings you in once. Consistency is what keeps you coming back. If you're spending the day at the beach, stop here first. If you're catching a movie next door, it's the perfect lunch spot beforehand. And if you're visiting St. Augustine and trying to avoid overpriced tourist restaurants serving food you could get anywhere else, put The Wheel on your list. Some restaurants simply serve lunch.
