At first I'd only tried the chicken broccoli Alfredo, which I found a little bit bland and could've used more broccoli... chicken was a little fatty/stringy. Came with standard issue garlic bread. Not bad, but not something I really wanted to go back for. However, considered pizza is their main deal and the ratings were consistently pretty good, I figured it would be worth trying at least one pizza. First tried just a pepperoni pizza. It was good, can't say much more about it: not the best ever but no complaints either. Good crust, good cheese, decent sauce, plenty of pepperoni. I've also done the Classic Buffalo Chicken Pizza twice, and personally I liked it so much I ordered another not even a week later. In my opinion the pizzas are cooked a little on the light side, so if you prefer a crispier crust maybe ask for it to stay in the oven an extra minute or two. read more

I ordered the Mediterranean Pizza online, but I loathe red onions so under special instructions I wrote "no red onions please!" This place was very satisfying. I was super hungry for the whole day and didn't know what to eat so when I seen this local restaurant I said let me give it a try. I am a very picky eater and boy let me tell you I was satisfied everything was cooked to perfection and you could tell the industry was careful on making their foods and making their foods have a lot of great flavor and seasoning. FINALLY, we have a go-to pizza place! There's a serious quality pizza drought in Somerville/Cambridge, but Gaya is filling that gap. The dough is slightly thicker, but cooked through with a crispy crust. The sauce has a little hint of sweetness to it, but I wouldn't call it a "sweet tomato sauce." The cheese is plentiful and the toppings fresh and thoughtfully placed. Overall a damn good pie. We ordered Pepperoni and Buffalo Chicken (not "Classic Buffalo Chicken"). Both were fought over until the last slice! This buffalo chicken had bleu cheese sauce (instead of tomato sauce) under the mozzarella, and this is a case in which that's done right. The chicken was unbreaded, fresh breast sliced small and flat for easy bites. I can't wait to try more from Gaya! **UPDATE! I've gotten Gaya on two more occasions, and I'm still super pleased. Tried the Classic Buffalo Chicken, Meat Lovers, Kids Pizza and Pesto. Classic Buffalo: I prefer the other style. We requested Bleu cheese on the side, and got two portions! Very cool. This style features Marinara sauce. Meat Lovers: my boyfriend liked it more than me, but I'm not crazy about meat lovers anyway! It was nice and spicy, which was a great touch. Kids: a pizza covered in mozzarella sticks and chicken tenders. Obviously it was absolutely amazing. Pesto: incredible flavors! I have never had a pesto pizza so lovingly crafted. The food is always good, it almost always arrives before the estimated delivery time, and they give you a 10% discount if you order online (which usually covers at least the cost of the delivery fee). I went to Gaya with the idea of getting a pizza but instead ended up going for some subs. This place is really close to where I used to live and I'm so upset that I didn't find it now when I live by Porter. It's a pretty small place with few seating and a very casual atmosphere. The menu is rather extensive and you can get pizza with a bunch of toppings (I don't think they do slices but rather entire pies small medium or large) as well as a bunch of different subs, a range of appetizers, and about three or so dessert options. I tried the eggplant parm sub as well as the chicken Caesar salad sub. I love he toasted bread they use - it's amazing and tastes really good. The eggplant parm sub was my favorite with the eggplant cooked really well and battered well. The sauce was good and they didn't hold back on the cheese - thankfully. I'm not a huge fan of subs but definitely enjoyed this one. The Caesar sub was a bit of an odd choice since the sub came with croutons. Nevertheless, the chicken was really tasty as were the greens and the Caesar dressing wasn't overwhelming. We live just over the bridge in Medford but they wouldn't deliver to us so we had to pick it up! If you're picking up or getting delivery, I highly recommend popping the pizza in the oven to reheat it and get the crust nice and crispy again before you eat it. I'm hoping Gaya will be consistently good from now on because it is going to be my go to pizza delivery. We live just a few blocks from this place...it used to be a pizza place (I think?) but we only ever ordered frozen yogurt from there. I saw the new sign a month ago and was intrigued...after reading the nice reviews decided to take a chance. We ordered a Margherita pizza, chicken parm and penne, and mozz sticks. Very impressed! Tasty, creative dishes, well priced. Much better than your average pizza shop. I work in the food industry and rarely eat pizza. But a friend invited me to try out a new place that opened up in Somerville - and I am glad I did. Delicious spread, fresh ingredients, and lot of creativity can be felt in the way the owner (Mike) approaches the business. What impressed me is how hard the owner works. This was late Friday night and the phone was going off the hook. Mike would run up, take the order, and set his delivery guys going. Then he would (literally!) jog back to the prep table to continue kneading dough and loading the oven, alongside other workers. Energizer Bunny himself would be envious if such energy! The kitchen is an open format, so you can see all of this. Another thing that stood out - sanitation. The owner consistently and properly changed gloves and showed good food storage and usage habits. (I notice things like that, being in the industry.) Food is tasty, prices are very reasonable, and while I rarely eat pizza, the times that I do, I will make it from Gaya's. read more

Went by for Lunch and got pizza. The pizza was delicious, and the dough was perfect. They have a good sized menu with great selections. I'm looking forward to my next time in to dive into their menu. The gentleman working was very nice and polite. The place is not the biggest for dining in, but there is bar stool seating along the front windows, and a few tables. I really liked how clean the place was. When you order you could see into the kitchen and it was comforting to see a very clean organized kitchen. Wow! Found this place on yelp and wow what an amazing pizza. Everything is so fresh and really great quality. No skipping on details, even the sauce is seasoned just so perfectly. It was so bad I don't know where to begin...Burnt garlic bread, chicken was barely there in chicken broccoli alfredo with most of the allegedly alfredo not mixed but rather on the bottom of the container in an oily mess. Frozen carrot cake. Mini slice of chocolate cake which was actually flourless and tasted like fudge (if I wanted fudge, I would have ordered fudge!) The combo plate *appetizer was another mess: the tasteless wings were on top of the fries making them a greasy glob and the other chicken was unrecognizable and one bite proved it was shoe leather. When I called to speak to the 'manager', he listened but told me to call Slice since I had paid online and he could/wouldn't help me.
