I made reservations a month in advance at the garden court. We went for the afternoon tea to celebrate my mom's 70th birthday. I'm so glad that I decided to choose this venue. They are cautious about dietary restrictions and the staff was very courteous. The staff was A++. The ambience was obviously amazing. This is definitely a pricey place so I would say is meant for special occasions. I chose to do a valet but that is something you can skip cuz that alone was $30. I wish they would have this on other days of the week too & not just Saturday. I wish they would have it for a longer duration too.

Five stars for ambiance, you can't beat the Palace Hotel for Old World glam. Where else can you relax to live piano music in the oldest hotel in SF, what used to be the largest hotel in the world? Truffle fries were amazing, flatbread was pretty great too (heavier on the soppressata than the pear). Beware if you have nut allergies, the cheesecake is topped with pistachio...fudge? Not sure what that topping was supposed to be, definitely wasn't mentioned in the menu. Cheesecake was delicious, sponge cake was dense and a little dry, both seemed like they were made a loooong time ago and just pulled out of the fridge or freezer (which works fine for cheesecake, not so great for sponge cake).

I love going to San Francisco and walking and doing things. One of the places that is high on my list to relax after a fun day is the GC Lounge, which is at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco. Most people will know this amazing place as the Garden Court Restaurant. The GC Lounge is the front part where one can have drinks, tea, and snacks. They have a musician in the evening. Its a good place to relax and enjoy. They also have good desserts, and snacks.

You can order drinks directly at the bar or find an open seat and have a server take your order. It took us about 10 minutes of walking around before we finally found a table. Although the service was a little slow at first because of how busy it was, once we were helped, the experience was excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome. The food is definitely on the pricier side, but it's well worth it. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the martinis were especially impressive. If you're looking for a relaxing spot with breathtaking views of the San Francisco skyline, The View Lounge is a great choice. The combination of great cocktails, tasty food, and the incredible city views makes it a place I'd happily visit again.

Servers were frequently walking around attending to all the tables. We loved everything we ate except the tuna ( we didn't like the sauce) the tuna was great we just didn't like the sauce For drinks we had the Garden Fizz, Paloma, and Lycheetini. All wonderful For food we had : charcuterie board, prawn cocktail ( HUGE prawns and my second favorite dish), ahi tuna tataki, chicken adobo tacos and the Prosciutto flatbread ( my favorite!) For dessert we shared the Ube Crème Brûlée I wanted to try the house made chips cause they looked delicious but I was too full. Definitely a great place to come and celebrate!

I was craving a refreshing craft cocktail and got one with the Green Emmanuelle. I liked the cardamom in the Beauty Mark as well that my partner ordered. We ordered shishito peppers and mushroom bahn mi sliders. The mushroom bahn mi sliders were amazing - the quality fillings and taste of the soft bun - I was unexpectedly hit with a bite of spice from maybe jalapeño seeds left but didn't sour my experience. The shishito peppers ended up being extremely spicy as well, those are usually just a few spicy and not the majority. The roasted lemon and salt was a wonderful combo but just too spicy to eat. However, the server very kindly removed it from our bill without us asking. We order the crostini because we were still hungry and that was an absolute hit. Delicious med-soft crostini with luscious berries and sweet honey. I didn't care my hands got sticky as it was soooo good! Great experience, I would be weary if the peppers as I'm a bit spice-intolerant but everything else was spot-on.

Glad to have some things to eat if drinking. You know sometimes you don't expect too much from bar food, but Here there's Better than typical bar type of food. Really enjoyed the fries with 2 sauces (classic, crispy finger food for sharing), chicken skewers, sliders (good appetizer size! a little something more substantial in food), chicken wings (you can choose from a few sauce choices). curry puff (flaky tasty wrapping with curry inside)! "Dumpster Cat" cocktail seems to be the only one that comes in a cat mug. Of course I had to! my mug was a black cat and it had an adorable removable yellow hat. reminds me of halloween. Would be cool to have even more cat mugs for the variety of drinks. Love the cat theme paintings/art on the walls. The large Mona Lisa + cat piece is fantastic. There's one booth in the back that fits 7-8 people. Not crowded early evening on the weekend

Kind of a bummer as I like getting restaurant recommendations from bar tenders. We didn't try any of the bites as we were working on finding a dinner spot.
