The staff is usually friendly and accommodating for my husband who is handicapped, except for this one manager (she was there on 7/1/22 during lunch) who sacrifices common courtesy for rudeness and indifference toward seating needs. Hi. We were very disappointed when we went to Geets for an early dinner in Oct 2022. The menu choices were very limited. The lack of dinner options I only had soup and my husband a club BLT sandwich. I ordered an iced tea and I received water. My husband ordered the BLT CLUB. It came out on only 2 slices of bread. Not only those errors but it took 30 minutes to get our food! it was NOT busy! Needless to say we will not be returning for dinner. read more

I'm in the bar side of geets, it's very tough to breathe because of the bar maids perfume. She should stop it with the hair spray too. But the bar is clean. Sad 1990s music makes me want to kill myself. Depressing regulars surrounding the bar. No good beer selection. Food looks like very low end diner food. I won't be back in the bar area. read more

Definitely has changed since new ownership. My boyfriend and I went in for breakfast and he always gets chocolate milk when we go out for breakfast. She gave us a little glass and he was shocked it didn't come in a bigger glass like they normally do. He said I hope this little glass isn't $2.99. And it was, their regular size is $5.99. We stopped in the other day for an early lunch. We haven't been in there in years since the previous owners so we thought we'd give it a chance to see what was new and going on. We had our two year with us. Which I'm sure you can imagine the terrible twos and restaurant setting doesn't mix lol. But our server Connie was amazing! She was wonderful helpful and talked to my son the entire time making him laugh and comfortable and he behaved! My boyfriend and I and his sister came out to eat tonight and we are not pleased at all. Our server didn't even talk to us, introduce herself to us. NOTHING. She sat at our table, and said "what do you want". We told her our drinks, and she said "what you want to eat" . Also she explained that she was sweaty, counted her money in front of us, which turned us off very much. She didn't even have her mask on all the way either. 7/5/21. We were told there's a 15 minute wait for lunch. It was 20+. They are short staffed. Otherwise there is a printed request on their placemats to let them if you have any issues. I didn't really think to say it when I was there but things evolved into a situation I just wanted out of. And I am not here as customer at your Diner to tell you how to do things right. The food was good but took too long to come out. While waited for our food and after we got our food we had to listen to a screaming out of control child in the next booth. The manager should have found a way to remedy this problem. I don't know how to do it because I am not a Diner manager. I am a parent. I consider the actions of my children and handled them appropriately in public. Sometimes taking a bouncy walk outside. Or some kind of attention to not ruin other people's lunch. read more

The server took almost twenty mins to take our order after we sat down. Our drinks took even longer as there was no bartender scheduled. I had a dead bug in my food. I pointed it out to the server and she apologized. The manager never came over to apologize. When we asked the manager to cancel our second round of drinks as we had already finished our meal and were ready to go, she complained that no one wanted to work right now and they were short staffed, which doesn't excuse why she never apologized for the dead bug in my food. read more

We decided to try this recently renovated Diner last night because it was close to a store we wanted to go to. The cashier was very nice, I imagine one of the owners, but clearly needed help seating the door and checking out customers. Our waitress was very nice, but clearly overworked having forgotten at least one drink and to bring crayons. I want to say again, our waitress was very nice, personable, but had too many tables at once to be great. (not her fault) Now the food.....typical diner food, we started with soup (included with our meals). I got the chili ($1 up charge) it was good, nothing special, my middle son got the NY Clam chowder, he described it as "tomato soup with potatoes, My wife got the french onion ($3 upcharge) It was good with enough melted cheese. Now to dinner-I got a bacon cheese burger medium. It was good, cooked perfectly on a brioche. 3 strips of crispy bacon and good fries. The cole slaw was bland, and they have pickle slices which is weird for a diner, but good! My older son got the chicken parm (grilled chicken) He said the sauce had a lot of oregano, but was good. My wife got the french dip, said it was good. The bread was good for the sandwitches and the portions were large. In closing I would have given 4 starts if the restaurant was staffed properly. Have visited both the diner side and the bar side and we are always taken care of. Breakfast was fresh and delicious and we have had seafood dinners and again good ingredients and prepared well. The drinks are made well and the bartenders get to know you and your likes. So happy you reopened!!! read more

Tried it twice for lunch menu is basic and food is ok nothing here to make me try it a third time. I had eggplant parm sandwich the first time and cheese burger the second time a few of my friends also have the same feelings I do. Have been to the lounge aka the sports bar in the back. I have gone a few times and the bartenders either ignore you or u really have to get friendly with them to get good service. They don't have a waitress for the tables that are around the bar which takes away from having good service from the bartenders. I was also a little annoyed at being charged $16 for two shots and the shot glass wasn't even full. Also the small bald skinny guy that's the manager there is kind of creepy. if they have a band playing forget it you can't hear yourself talk and you'll go home with a sore throat from yelling so much talking to the person you're with. Happy hour is good but they really do need a waitress there. read more

this place needs a lot of improvement! first, we walk in and have to wait 10 minutes before we get a server. we decided to order our food right away, since we knew what we wanted. it takes at least 45 minutes for the food to arrive, and the food was absolutely horrible. the waitress messed up the order. the bacon was burnt, home fries were dry, and pancakes were hard. one of our members ordered 4 chocolate chip pancakes, and ended up leaving the restaurant hungry. the orange juice had no flavor, and the coffee tasted like instant made coffee. i wouldn't recommend this place to anybody! read more

Geets is a landmark and a town favorite. The food is decent , but not spectacular. If you want jersey diner food it's a good spot to get it, however, watch your check. At today's visit I got a short stack with a side of sausage. the menu clearly said "add 2.49 for bacon sausage etc". The check came and I was charged $3.49. I pointed it out on PRINCIPLE only. (I can afford to pay the extra $1) The waitress apologized and had the woman at the cash register "fix it" for me. She brings me back a new check that has a 50 cent "discount" taken off. At this point I'm no longer arguing the point. I now don't trust the establishment. It's not about the dollar or the 50 cents, it's about ripping off your customers. I shudder to think how many customers DONT pay attention to the menu prices and just pay. 100's of customers a day times an extra dollar or more, per day. Not cool. read more

As a very hungry and very 9 months pregnant woman, I can say that Geets just made my night with their customer service. I ordered my food late (around 8:45pm), not realizing that the restaurant closes at 9pm. It wasn't until I was on my way to pick up my food that isn't gps informed me that the diner closes at 9:00pm. On top of that, I arrived at the restaurant at 9:15pm. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to pick up my food but they were still there waiting patiently. No one called me to rush me. The cashier and server were incredibly nice and even held the door open for me when I left. Once I got into my car, they turned off the "open" light sign which let me know they really were waiting for me. Amazing customer service, Geets! Sat at the bar on a Wednesday night 11/13/19. Food was good, the fact that they had music was a plus especially on a week night, I didn't know that before I walked in. Service was good as far as not having to wait for drinks or food. My only complaint is I ordered a drink and told the bartender exactly the only 2 ingredients I wanted in the drink but he added a third ingredient which I'm guessing may have been either bitters or triple sec, I don't like either of these in my drinks. This place was recommended by my coworker. She told me that she visits here once a week and highly recommended me to come here for breakfast. The place was very clean and I loved the retro diner vibe. The waitress (Kristen) who was serving my family was super friendly and welcoming. If I can give a best waitress award, I would definitely give it to her! The food was also fresh and yummy! The portions were pretty big too. Geets food is okay to eat, BUT, there's this Asian/Chinese/Japanese (one of those), girl that works the front desk. I'm assuming she's a hostess. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. You can tell she's faking it. She'll start off nice but as soon as you try to make sure she has your order right (over the phone) she gets snappy & dismissive as if we have no right to make sure it's correct. She is VERY slick at the mouth. This has happened two times in a row with the same girl. And I'm slick at the mouth so she got back whatever she was throwing at me ‍ FIRE HER. She is not good for business. I will not be returning as long as she is there. Makes me wonder if she spit in my food. read more
