Loved this cute gelato place in kirkwood! There were a lot of flavors to choose from and a variety of sizes. I got the smallest size and it was the perfect amount for me (2 scoops). Our favorite flavor we tried was the pink grapefruit. The inside is very small so it gets really cramped if too many people are inside. But the nearby area is very nice so there's plenty of areas to go outside. read more

This gelato place is delicious and I can't believe it's not talked more about! Was just looking for a place to hang out after dinner and was so glad to stumble upon this place. - Stracciatella - In general, I really appreciate the texture of the gelatos which are very "pull-y". I would say that I'm not a huge fan of this stracciatella because I feel like the rich cream flavor didn't come out enough and there wasn't enough chocolate chips in it. - Raspberry - I think this has to be my favorite flavor of the bunch. The raspberry flavor was extremely evident and fruity without it being too sweet which I really appreciate. - Lemon - Lemon/lime is my favorite ice cream flavor in general and this place does it wonderfully. I love the hint of sourness which contrasts well with the sweetness. It is very refreshing. Overall, wonderful experience and can't wait to come back to try more. By the way, the prices are extremely affordable and I would argue pretty cheap by gelato standards. read more

Came on a beautiful day and sat on the back patio that overlooks a cute park. Shop still allows tastes. Chose blackberry gelato, very flavorful (but note there are seeds). Reasonable prices and they will let you have two flavors in a small cup without extra charge! The staff was so nice to offer. My partner said the macchiato was tasty but not a true macchiato since it had foam on it. Would frequent this cute spot if I lived near. read more

Very impressed with this little Gelato place. Very nice and clean. Awesome little patio area in the heart of The Hill. The patio backs up to the Piazza. There are so many different flavors of Gelato to choose from. I tried the amaretto and a 4 berry blend, both flavors were very good and I love how dense gelato is. There is also other deserts and coffee so there is something for everyone. Service was great. They let us try different flavors before we chose our flavors. Rating: 4.7 Stars Last night was my first time trying Gelato Di Riso. Frankly, I have minimal experience with gelato. I tend to prefer good soft serve or high quality ice cream like Clementine's. I was definitely not disappointed. In fact, I liked it so much that I had to try two additional flavors after my first order. I first ordered the Grasshopper (Mint Cookie) Gelato. The mint flavor was perfect--neither too strong nor two subtle--and the Grasshopper cookie pieces were a nice addition. Since I was feeling fruity, I decided to order a fruity flavor next. Blackberry gelato caught my eye, and I have always liked blackberry ice cream. This too had solid flavor, and I think that it would be great on a nice, warm summer evening. I also decided to try the Pumpkin Pie gelato. This was the best of the three. It tasted just like a good pumpkin pie, and I really enjoyed it. I definitely preferred the milk-based gelato (Grasshopper and Pumpkin Pie) over the water-based (Blackberry). Nevertheless, all three were fantastic. If you need some great news here it comes! There is now a location in Kirkwood! It's next to the local hardware store. I had to buy parts for a children's table and chair set last week. So when I exited the store the Gelato seduced me and I went in. The peach gelato was delicious but you pay for it. It's worth it, guys. Gelato is the Champaign of the ice cream family. I decided to Riso to the occasion and review Gelato Di Riso. They have the loveliest girl working there, and I have a huge crush on her. I think she wanted my number but I was an idiot and didn't read the signs until I'd already left. The gelato here is really excellent, especially tasty berry and the delicious pineapple. While I would consider STL more of a frozen custard city - specifically the wonderful Ted Drewes which is one of the best in the country - this gelato as well worth a try as well. And before you criticize how concise this review is, there is no need for your DiRision. It's longer than anything that most of the other guys can offer. I'm talking about review length. SHOT INTO THE BAY TO DRIVE IN THREE RUNS!! You will be so grateful you tried this place. It's off the beaten path, but well worth it. My friend and I stopped by here after grabbing dinner at Mama's on the Hill as it's around the corner and sounded good. We were nicely rewarded. It's a quaint place with a very local feel about it. I tried several of the gelato flavors and they were insanely good. I got the red velvet and hazelnut and the flavors exploded in my mouth in complementary goodness. There were also cookies and other treats for sale, but there was no way I could stomach more food. The server, Joe, was extremely engaging and spoke highly of the people and the neighborhood. He said the whole neighborhood was a family environment and had a hometown feel to it. We will absolutely be back. read more

The flavors here were so interesting, and the employees were so helpful. They gave us great recommendations, and all of the gelato taste really fresh. It is a little tough to find parking, but I would definitely check the street around the area. My friend and I were craving something sweet so we stopped by. The staff were very friendly and let us try plenty of different flavors. Everything was delicious! I liked the milk based flavors better though so I got tiramisu and biscotti. I liked that you could get two flavors in the smallest size because I had trouble narrowing my favorite flavor down to one. The Family wanted dessert and found this place on the Famous Hill in St. Louis. Had no ideal what to get so they let you have samples of anything in the case so I settled for 3 flavors let me say way too much but really good the little cups are deceiving you get a lot in the cups.
