They keep all of their hot food in a dedicated warming cabinet, and you can commonly find some great cooked, ready to eat fish there. It's also located right in between a Ross and a Marshalls so that might be a bonus if you're prone to browse those stores like I am lol Also, I want to mention that their customer service is always on point when it comes to their cashiers. During my recent visit, I purchased cookies that were deceivingly named Ktown bake shop, and they looked delicious, but once I got them home, I tried one and it was so stale that I had to bring them back, and even though I had opened them when I explained to them that they were near in edible they happily granted my refund. Pro tip: nowadays everything's titled as if it's made in Korea, but, always check. The cookies that I bought were in fact, not made in Korea or a product of Korea, which I believe is why they were so subpar.

Overall, I'd choose the Torrance location over Irvine based on this visit. The Irvine store just didn't have the selection, atmosphere, or value I've come to expect from Mitsuwa.

When operations are consistently backed up and disorganized, that responsibility falls on leadership. A good manager steps in, rolls up their sleeves, and helps get things back on track. If you're ordering delivery or planning a pickup, I'd strongly recommend choosing another Albertsons or a nearby Ralphs instead. This location seems to struggle with basic order management, and unfortunately it shows.

Never again! I have multiple sclerosis and am forced to live my life in a wheelchair and I have endured disability discrimination for the past 6 years, but what happened at Gelson's takes the top spot. I went into the Gelson's at Irvine some time ago and just wanted to purchase a few items from the store. I don't like to use a cart because it gets very tiresome after a while so I usually either have a bag or try to hold the items but I didn't bring a bag that day. I grabbed a box of cereal and put it behind my back since I couldn't hold it and move around at the same time. I then went to see if they had any macaroni but very quickly some man working as loss prevention asks me to give him what I put behind my back. I gave him the cereal box and he told me that he "knew what I was doing" and that if I tried to leave the store with it that my legs wouldn't be the only thing that were broken. He took the cereal box, gave me a stare that made me feel worthless, and then he left. I left Gelson's and broke down after that. What type of human being would do that? Did you gain pleasure from it? You think just because I am disabled that it gives you the right to think little of me and abuse me ? Just leave me alone. read more

I have Ben coming to the wine bar since it opened with Alejandro. Your bar is a joke. You have gone through so many Amazing bartenders, Alejandro, Matt, Jill etc. you are a grocery store not a bar. Your management team has no fucking clue how to run a bar. I used to go here all the time for a great home cooking taste in the hot deli section. I used to love the rice and everything was so fresh. Well fast forward 5 years and I was passing by and thought that would be a great dinner for my family. The service was great that is why I gave them 2 stars instead of 1. I got the rice pilaf, Mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes as sides. I also got the fried chicken, tri-tip, and teriyaki chicken wings as main dishes. Well where do I start. The rice was ok, but I have had better from the microwave. The Mac and cheese was just tasteless and the mashed potatoes were instant from a box and not even the good instant, the bad generic kind. The fried chicken was tasteless and dry, the teriyaki wings where hard and horrible. The tri-tip was the only editable thing (not great, just editable) and for 17.99 a pound I would expect better. All the food I bought for a nice family dinner cost almost $70.00 and most of it was not editable. It is a shame that they let the great food they used to have go down hill. Although it is very close to my house, I do not shop here. Its not because I have anything against Gelson, I just do shop here. I think it trys too hard to be a Wholefoods. Any ways, before heading to class I decided to drop in and grab a sandwich and their deal is you can get a sandwich for around 7 bucks and if you add some sides to it the entire combo is 10 bucks. That day for lunch I ordered a tuna on sourdough. It was pretty good. It had all the veggies I want in a tuna salad sandwich. The bread was a bit dry though. For 7 bucks I want some nice crusty sourdough. To be honest, the next time I would come here only if I had low on time and in a rush to get some quick bite before going to class. Other than that reason that I just mentioned, I would either make a sandwich at home or go to an actual sandwich shop. read more

I stepped into Gelson's Market in Irvine and it was like a breeze especially when I visit for flowers. Honestly, between all the supermarkets out there, their flower section is like a botanical dreamland. It's top-notch, stunning, and guaranteed to be fresh. I didn't just go for the floral magic. Their warm food area is a quick bite haven. I pop in, grab something fresh and delicious, and suddenly, I feel like a foodie king. Parking? Oh, it's a dream! Gelson's has plenty of space, so I never have to play the awkward "circling for a spot" game. And the best part? It's right near the freeway, like a golden ticket to convenience. Gelsons is always a great market with a great selection of great food and friendly service. Their fish is always delicious and fresh. They also have good meats?breads, and salads. I also enjoy their snacks, such as nuts, deviled eggs, and Inari sushi. The employees are very friendly and helpful to customers, which is always a plus. The decor inside is nice and modern, which I like too. The con is that their prices are higher than the average market. I love Gelson's Market Spent $40 bucks today and walked away with one and a half bags of groceries. Not just crap either. Lots of vegetables, rice, bread, cheese, etc. Good wholesome foods. They have name brand stuff and generic brands too. I laugh when I walk over to Rainbow Grocery across the street and see hippies paying twice as much for the same stuff and they ALL look so unhealthy. While shopping, the kiddo will look for the store mascot, ringo the raccoon, around the store. if she finds him, the lovely cashier will give her stickers and/or a lollipop. No exaggeration... the first thing that comes out of my kid's mouth when we walk through the doors is "SHELDON, where are you, Sheldon?". & she shouts it like the woman, Edith Bunker, from that old school show, "all in the family", creating an amusing start to our shopping experience. & If working, Sheldon will come out and help us as soon as he hears my little squawk box from the front of the store. That being said, Sheldon and the rest of the team at this location are absolutely fantastic. So many have disappeared over the years, which makes me especially happy that Togo's is still going strong in Heritage Plaza! I was recently in Irvine and stopped by for a sandwich, and everything was just how I remembered it. There's something so comforting about coming back to a longtime favorite and having it still feel the same. The employees were also very nice and welcoming. If you haven't tried the Italian, I highly recommend it, delicious! I hope this Togo's stays in Heritage Plaza for many more years. It's great to see a little piece of the Irvine I grew up with still here. Five stars!
