Quick delicious meal where all the dipping sauces are made in house! I had: 1. Original katsu 2. Teriyaki chicken katsu - the meat has never been frozen so you can taste the freshness! 3. Katsu bowl with coleslaw 4. Potato puff 5. Mango latte - with mango puree from Korea

And when they show up, I'll give the Martian Saints your address Kalbi Pork Curry Bowl (no kimchi, no salad) from #MrKatsu

It was an okay meal. I'm not a big sandwich guy and that's what they had the majority of here. I went with the Kalbi Curry Bowl but had to do a lot of altering to get it how I liked it--without the coleslaw and without the kimchi. Otherwise, it was a good bowl--a bit overpriced for just meat, rice, and sauce but what are you going to do? The service was nice enough and the place is pretty spiff looking with a lot of space. But I don't know if I'll ever be back as I don't seem to be the intended patron and honestly left a little hungry as the portion size left a lot to be desired for the price point. I could see a bowl like this maybe being in the $9-10 range and not the $14-$15 range.

Came to Mr. Katsu with the fam for a quick lunch, and here's the rundown: I went with the Katsu Curry Bowl (pork cutlets, katsu sauce on rice, cole slaw, and a side of curry). Honestly, it was... just okay. Not bad, but not life-changing either. Maybe I'm spoiled by all the amazing spots near Little Tokyo, but I expected more for the hype. My fiancé and daughter shared the Katsu Curry Sandwich, and they agreed--also just okay. To be fair, we found out the owners weren't there when we visited, which makes sense since we've heard it's way better when they're in the kitchen. Seems like one of those Mom-and-Pop spots where on a good day, it's amazing, but on an off day (like ours), it's kinda hit-or-miss. The place is nice with ample seats and tables, parking is a plenty so, no need to worry about the ravenous meter maids but would I come back? Maybe. Definitely want to give it another shot when the owners are there to make the magic happen. My fiancé swears he had the best katsu sandwich of his life on his first visit, so I guess I'll have to go back and see if it's true! Overall? Not bad, but not worth sending a postcard about. Save your stamps, folks.

Mom and pop katsu shop. + Chicken Salad Sandwich ($12 + $4 combo with 3 potato puffs and a drink): chicken seemed like a mixed, shredded chicken over a bed of boiled cabbage. Good trio of katsu, sesame, and mayo sauce. Potato puffs just fried mashed potato, could pass (8.8/10)

Big portions--Mr Katsu truly is bang for your buck! Both the chicken katsu and yakisoba sandwiches were excellent. I'll definitely be back!

Delicious and affordable. Meat was thin and juicy, bread was a little much but great to dip in the curry! Highly recommend the curry. Would have loved more pickles or add cabbage slaw to the curry sando. Potato puffs are a great texture. I'd skip the puff tho and lean more towards the fries. Definitely coming back for them. Service was excellent and so quick for takeout!!!

A solid place for a katsu fix! This local place has a variety of katsu sandwiches, all of which are hearty in size and taste. Located in a strip mall, so there is plenty of free parking. The service was kind and easy. The lady working behind the counter was so nice and patient as I decided on what to order. The place is pretty casual, I noticed many groups of friends just coming here to catch up and have a good bite. I tried the Habanero Pesto and Katsu Curry sandwiches. The habanero actually had a good little kick to it, and didn't overwhelm the flavor profile of the sandwich, especially with the slaw to balance it out. You can't go wrong with a classic katsu curry. I would love to come back to try the other sandwiches!

Tucked away in a small plaza is a restaurant that specializes in hearty katsu sandwiches. I love matcha. Mr.Katsu is currently my favorite katsu sandwich restaurant out there. I would definitely recommend their pesto habanero katsu sandwich aside from the original as it adds earthy notes to the sandwich. Keep in mind Mr.Katsu is more of a takeout restaurant than it is a sit-down service restaurant, so if you are looking to eat somewhere casual then this is the place to eat. I love matcha.

Mr Katsu is phenomenal. Never had a bad morsel of food from this fine establishment. I have yet to meet Mr. Katsu but am hopeful to one day bask in his glory.

Ordered the original Katsu sandwich and it came out SUPER fast and was packed with amazing flavor. The bread was toasted very nicely and delicious. The Katsu itself was juicy and meat was tender. Loved the crunch of veggies too! Looking forward to try the other sandwhiches.

I am also kind of a katsu snob and I adore the thicker cuts of Japanese katsu (Korean katsu has its place in my heart though!), and that is exactly what Mr. Katsu serves up! The cutlet didn't taste gamey -- probably my ultimate American pork fear -- and it was sufficiently crispy. I got the katsu salad, which is like the original sandwich but deconstructed. The slaw was cooked and I don't know how I feel about it still, but it was not bad and the portion was pretty solid. I was not a fan of the sesame dressing but the katsu sauce served as a fine sauce for the cabbage as well. The fries were pretty fire though -- the fries themselves were just okay but they were doctored up in quite the combination of mayo and kalbi sauce and bits. Service is a little slow but the katsu is fresh so I guess you have to sacrifice a bit sometimes! It's located in a plaza and it's not super duper busy (but a decent number of people come in and out).

Today was our first time visiting and we are so glad we did! Cute little place with indoor and small patio seating. Service was quick and friendly. The potato puffs were so crispy on the outside but perfectly creamy on the inside. The sandwich was so delicious, I can't wait to go back and try the other ones.

Dive into a flavor journey at Mr. Katsu! For over 10 years, their family-owned restaurant has been serving up unforgettable cuisine. Try the Habanero Pesto Korean Sandwich, featuring a crispy pork cutlet, zesty Habanero Aioli, fresh pesto, and crunchy coleslaw--all made with high-quality, never-frozen meat and their signature homemade sauces. Don't miss the 'What the Frick Fries'--a delicious blend of Korean marinated Kalbi, sautéed kimchi, and gooey cheese, all tossed with party sauce on a bed of shoestring fries. It's a party in your mouth! Pair your meal with some imported Korean juices, like Green Grape Yuzuade or refreshing Grapefruitade, and indulge in in the unique Strawberry, Matcha and Blueberry Latte. Service was quick and they were very helpful. Parking lot has plenty of spaces.

The finger foods was Asian‑inspired, with flavors like black sesame, curry, and other creative twists that made each bite feel unique. Every piece was thoughtfully made, rich, and decadent without feeling repetitive, and the presentation was beautiful across the board. It definitely felt like a more elevated, modern take on afternoon tea. The tea itself, however, fell a bit short for me. I ordered a non‑caffeinated chrysanthemum tea, which unfortunately didn't have much depth or flavor. My friend's Darjeeling was better, but still not as rich or complex as I've had elsewhere. Given how strong the Asian inspiration is in the food, it would've been nice to see more thoughtful decaf tea options in that same direction, like decaf sencha, barley tea, or kuromamecha, to better match the concept. Price: The afternoon tea service is prix fixe at around $45 per person, which includes a curated set of savory bites, desserts, and a pot of tea. For the quality and creativity of the food, the price feels pretty reasonable compared to other OC tea services, though the tea itself didn't quite meet the same level as the food. Ambiance: The space is bright, warm, and inviting, with a nice amount of natural sunlight coming in that makes it feel cozy rather than stuffy. There are subtle Asian design elements woven into the décor, giving it a modern, slightly upscale feel without being overly formal. It's a great spot to catch up with friends and linger over tea. Service: Service was good, friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. Even during a busy service, staff remained kind and approachable, which added to the overall relaxed vibe. Parking: Parking can take a bit of effort. Since it's located on a busy street in Orange, you may need to circle around the roundabout or park a little farther away and walk over. Not impossible, but definitely something to plan for, especially on weekends.
