4- Came here for lunch before checking out the brand new T&T Supermarket at Westgate. The restaurant seemed slow during lunch hour. To me, this restaurant never disappoints. The price is under $22 for AYCE lunch, and if you're craving for meat, they definitely can deliver. The meat quality is ok. We loaded up on the bulgogi, brisket, and beef belly. Everything tasted good on the tabletop. The vibe inside is good (typical Gen Korean) which makes it a fun spot for groups. Service was consistent; it did not slow down when the restaurant finally picked up on customers. The server was friendly and always came by to check on us. Love the location right by the new supermarket--it's super convenient to grab groceries and then stuff my face with K-BBQ right after. Will definitely be back!

This is an ayce Korean BBQ place. Each person is $31.95, if you want premium meat, it's $20 more. The pickle dishes are soso, the appetizers also were only ok. But the meats (regular) are good, we got the beef short ribs( best), pork belly (also very good), and the beef bulgogi ( a little too salty). Our server was very good, even though the kitchen was backed up and slow.

Gen Korean BBQ House delivered exactly what you want from an all-you-can-eat Korean barbecue experience: great food, a lively atmosphere, and excellent value. My group opted for the AYCE menu, which gave us access to a wide variety of meat selections, and there was plenty to enjoy throughout the meal. The quality and variety of the meat was all very decent. The staff did a great job keeping orders moving and checking in throughout the meal. Despite the busy dining room, service remained attentive and efficient. If you're looking for a place to enjoy quality grilled meats and get the most out of an all-you-can-eat menu, it's an easy recommendation.

Haven't been to GEN in a long time, and I finally revisited yesterday. No reservation, so we had to wait about 30 minutes for a table -- not too bad. Once inside, the vibe was great. It's definitely a solid spot for after-work chill + Korean BBQ. Love that it's AYCE for only around $30/person, which honestly feels like a steal these days. We ordered a bunch of meats like steak, pork belly, chicken, and more -- everything came out super fast, and the service was surprisingly good and attentive. Dessert was the Korean pancake, and it was a nice finish -- highly recommend everyone try it. One note though: the beef was average -- good enough for AYCE but not outstanding. I feel like the premium add-on (about $20 more) might be worth it next time if you want higher quality cuts. Only downside: the tofu soup was way too salty for my taste. But overall, for the price, everything meets expectations and matches the value. Would come back again when I'm craving AYCE KBBQ.

Came here for lunch to celebrate hubby bday on weekday and even tho there's barely anyone inside, we had to wait 10min to be seated. Turned out there's only 1 person working in the kitchen so took us another 30min for our first order to arrive. Since they only limit 4 items total each round for 2 of us (including appetizers), we only ordered our appetizer during 2nd round and of course due to the wait, we don't get them until almost end of our meal. Food is pretty good for only $21.95, especially if you combined with the Costco gift card deal. Our favorites are the thinly sliced brisket and beef belly (both plain & honey). Next best things are pork cheeks, pork belly & bulgogi. I won't get the beef finger short ribs (meat is pretty tough), japchae & bulgogi fries again tho. I won't be back for birthday tho because they don't have any bday perks, not even free drinks :(

Order a Gen Premium Steak and got a mostly fat steak.

Had a terrible experience coming to this location today. We got seated immediately but we waited about 15 minutes just for someone to even acknowledge us. Not one person besides the host said something to us. Finally got the server to take our order, and we had multiple groups sat next to us who immediately got taken care of. We got our food about 5-7 mins before we even got our drinks, while the surrounding groups got everything they needed. I've been to multiple locations of Gen and I know the service isn't the best but this was ridiculous. I noticed a group next to us who was waiting for their check for 20 minutes. Multiple servers just walking by them. I was also give a Gen Premium Steak with mostly fat, how this ever got served baffles me. This place needs to do better.

Ummm.. i would say I saw alot of reviews on staff but I honestly dont think thats the problem, the food itself is where i would say is lacking first time here at gen but ive been to many different KKQ and this one i would probably never go to again wired chuncks of meat when its supposed to be beef belly "thinly sliced". Another big ick to me was the grills its self it was not clean thats for sure, black charrr was left from prev people i assume but this is the first time a grill has made me loose my appetite

This has a large variety of options. They also have more Mexican base options too compared to the usual kbbq place. They have carne asada and al pastor. Service was good. Our waiter was attentive and changed our grill multiple times without us having to flag her down or ask. And this place has the usual gen atmosphere. Music isn't too loud but enough that makes the place fun. The only thing about this place is that the quality doesn't seem as good as it used to be or compared to the places nearby. We got the premium brisket and there was not fatty part on the meat and was a bit tough. The cheek also wasn't as premium too. So overall, there is a larger selection but the quality doesn't seem as great as before. We went at 5:30 and waited about 25minutes to get seated for a party of 2 on a Saturday.

1st time out hea, the vibe and service outta hea!! 2 bottles of Sake and a great variety of meats along with a dessert,later... Man was I a happy camper!! Thank you folks for a wonderful experience!! Highly recommend this concept of cooking your own food... it's all marinated..Not so bad!!

Me and my partner visited during labor day lunch after craving some korean bbq. Our hopes were high and perhaps it's the location but this location seemed to be understaffed. There were many tables open but there was a long wait outside with lots of people. They did have a yelp waitlist where you can track your spot. But you have to check in with the host first. Overall the service was lacking. Going to our table, the server was clearly tired and overworked. She was not too attentive and did not offer to help with any recommendations when we were struggling with the many options. We noticed that our plates and also the initial grill came out dirty. Perhaps the backend staff was overworked as well as it was not washed properly. Also says alot that the server that put the grill on was probably too overworked to properly see the grill, as they put it on anyways. Lots of places now have ordering through a tablet for example and that can help reduce the workload of the servers. Food wise was nothing special, the two soups that they have on the menu were very salty. There was a strong smoke smell near the front desk but the smoke evac system at our table worked great. Overall i would not come back again, there is alot of options out there.

Came here on a Saturday around 2pm. The place was half empty, but we still had to wait about 30 minutes for a table of two since they seemed short-staffed (looks like that's a common issue from other reviews). After we got the text to check in, we had to wait another 10 minutes because the table wasn't ready.... kind of frustrating since that should've been prepped beforehand. That said, the value is solid. AYCE KBBQ with unlimited sides at a good price. The fried shrimp and calamari were standouts... perfectly crisp! The corn cheese was a miss for me, way too runny. The meats were great. We did two rounds and it was plenty. Favorites were the gochujang beef belly, galbi, and honey soy beef belly. Service really saved the experience. Bruno was amazing, super attentive, and checked in often. Huge thanks to him for making up for the long wait.

Wonderful time! Six of us had dinner here tonight and it was a wonderful delicious time! The ambiance is very inviting and comfortable to be in. Our service tonight was very good given how busy this place is. You can see the service and delivery people in constant motion that must run all night long. We let our kids do the ordering since the rest of us had never been there before. They ordered appetizers and the main courses. Everything was delicious! My wife and I enjoyed the bulgogi and thought it was very tender and tasty! Kids really loved the pork and beef belly offerings. Everything was delicious! Please see the pictures below and let your eyes do the feasting!

    Yes

Is this all you can eat ? If so what are the prices?

Lunch price is $19 all you can eat June 2024.

Is it nut free? Also sesame free? I would like to eat it again but I'm just wondering.

Not sure, but I would doubt that it's sesame free because sesame oil is such a common ingredient in Asian sauces and marinades. Try calling them. My daughter is allergic to fish and shellfish. They were very helpful when I called and inquired about…

Do they have anything else other than the all you can eat option for diner?

What is the price for weekday lunch now, as of July 2021?

Mon- Thurs for lunch (before 3pm) is $19.95 per person; Fri-Sun is dinner price all day for $27.95

Do you take party of 1?

    Yes

What time is the lunch special until?

    $19.95 until 3 pm, M-Th.

How can I cook delivered intestine at home? Should I start from washing it or is it already prepared to bbq directly?

Already washed and ready to cook on a pan

How does outdoor dining work? Do we grill the food outside or is it already cooked?

The food comes out partially cooked and you finish cooking it yourself on the portable grills. You can also order up to 6 meats instead of 4.

Outdoor dining is still ayce and the same prices are in effect. They just cook for you now.

    Of course!

I think so, I saw a party with a baby, and from what I recall, the baby was in a high chair.

    Do they have Happy Hour?

Food wise not. Not sure about the alcoholic drinks. I usually get ice water since I like to leave enough space in my stomach for meat 😂

What side dishes do they serve with the ayce?

They serve rice, and all sorts of little dishes of pickled salads like kimchee, etc., all unique and tasty. You can also get green salad, but I'm not sure if that costs extra.

The toasty warm cornbread went well with the meat however, I found it lacking in that essential corn flavor. I would love if actual corn kernels were present or more of a cornmeal taste. Coleslaw- Served cold, this coleslaw was refreshing and creamy. I enjoyed the sweetness and freshness the coleslaw acts as a palate refresher. Mac & Cheese- One of my favorite of the sides. The sharpness of the cheddar makes this very enjoyable. Its creamy and rich without being overly so. Pulled pork- Smoky, tender pork that is well seasoned on its own. With a good amount of fat, this pork was easily one of the best meats. Ribs- Pretty good. I feel like the ribs were on the smaller side in that they weren't as meat as I expected. But flavor-wise, it was slightly sweet from the barbecue sauce. Chicken- Smoky, tender white chicken meat. The skin was flavorful being well seasoned. The meat slightly dry but still edible. Bread pudding- The bread pudding tasted like a warm hug. The bread is cinnamony and milky, with that extra boost of vanilla flavor from the icecream. What a great way to end your meal. A few improvements that could be made: * wet wipes provided or have an extra sink close to the dining area * would love to see more veggie options on the menu for the sides. Perhaps some corn or greens. * Cornbread could use more real corn flavor/texture Service was a standout here. The front of the house staff were all really nice and friendly. The bossman walked around each table and checked on us which we did not expect since it was a fast casual spot. It was refreshing seeing a boss check in with his customers and make sure everyone is satisfied. I would come back if I'm in the area.

The location that we went to is located next to Maggiano's Little Italy in Santana Row on Olin Ave. There is a free 2 hour parking structure across of the restaurant where my boyfriend and I parked at. We came during their Lunch Specials (until 4pm) and Happy Hour (from 3-5:30pm) which worked perfectly as we wanted something smaller in portion compared to the dinner portions. We started off with drinks. I got their Pig Ol' Bitties Blonde Ale, and my boyfriend got their Friday Beer & Shot special of This Little Piggy Went to [Mark]et with a 16 oz Dirty Little Pig IPA and a shot of Benchmark whiskey. My fault for having him get a whiskey shot on an empty stomach, though HAHA. He did like how smooth the whiskey was at least! We shared a 2-meat BBQ Lunch Combo Plate, and honestly, we should have gotten 3 meats because of how tender and delicious everything was! We got their Tri Tip and Sliced Brisket with their Garlic Mash and server recommended Sweet Potato Tots. Ahhh, everything was so good! Aside from the tender, flavorful meats, the two sides, especially the garlic mash, were sooooo good. We both loved everything! It was definitely a great choice coming during lunch as we were quite full after ordering one of their happy hour shareables of Chips & Queso (kind of pricey even for happy hour in my opinion for chips and cheese). Honestly wished we got their Chili Cheese Fries or their other fries which were the same price than just chips and dip LOL. But it was a good hold over food with us drinking a bit (at least for me). Shoutout to the only server who was working on a late Friday afternoon as she was doing her best to accommodate everyone + trying to clean up the previous tables. It was kind of sad seeing that the other workers didn't help bus the tables in my opinion. Overall, a great place to watch sports and have some good whiskey as this restaurant is known for their whiskey selections! The lunch BBQ exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely come back for another lunch special meal but probably with 3 meats this time!

I've been to 3 others Redwood City BBQ, South Winchester BBQ (San Jose), and Canyon's BBQ (Castro Valley) and I've reviewed most of those quite favorably, except for 1. But they have about 4 others that I haven't been but are on my list. I guess now I'll know they are more the same than they are different. I knew walking in that I was going to like it. A strong aroma of wood smoke hugs you upon entering. A cool mural outside, lots of beers and bbq on the tables, cool tunes that was all over the place genre wise. 2 Meat Combo ($26/4.5*) Crazy solid combo. Not as juicy as I would prefer but between the perfect smoke content and their seasoning just makes me happy enough. Brisket: Their brisket is awesome. Not as juicy as some of the top notch places here in the Bay, but the flavor was perfect for me. Assertive smokiness without being overbearing. Get a piece with a good layer of fat and it was basically hearty beef bacon. I rarely put sauce on brisket but theirs is not bad, maybe just a dot or 2. Ribs: Also drier than what I like but the flavor and meaty texture was enough for me. Definitely have to pull these off the bone a bit, does not easily fall off, which I actually prefer. I like toothsome versus mushy meat. These ribs do have a layer of bbq sauce cooked into them, so it has a sweet and tangy flavor already in it. But they still can accept extra sauce, as it will not only moisten the ribs further but it will amp up the tang and sweetness that pork ribs are natural for. Tried 2 sides, beans and coleslaw. The beans aren't the super sweet kind, which I liked. More chili-like very hearty and complimenting to the smoky bbq. The slaw was perfect, crisp with a creamy yet slightly sweet dressing. Crazy good, I could actually eat their sides alone as a meal. Their corn bread here is strange. It is cooked in a sheetpan and cut into squares much like a brownie. But that square is then griddled til golden brown so I totally thought it was garlic bread at first. The other bbq spots I tried from this same company didn't make corn bread like that, so this was a first for me. Probably the only miss for me here. Also tried a half pound of Tri Tip ($20/4*) Very meaty that they were able to keep it a nice pink medium, which I like. But much milder in smoke than their brisket and ribs. I ended up making sandwiches with these at home. They are sliced pretty thick so you may have to slice some of them further. It bites easier in thinner slices versus monster thick slices that will pull out of the bread with each bite. I learned that on this out so just throwing out a tip. A solid bbq throwdown with a cold frosty one, plus lots of leftovers for work lunches the next few days, is just an out I can repeat over and over. Glad I found this spot!

Today, we came back and ordered a pound of brisket and a pound of tri-tip again. Unfortunately, when we got home and weighed them, both portions were under 14 oz. That is a significant difference when you are paying by the pound. I called the restaurant to let them know, and the only response I received was essentially, "Sorry." We are regular customers and really enjoy the food, which makes this especially disappointing. Mistakes can happen, but having the same issue repeatedly and then receiving no meaningful response when bringing it to the restaurant's attention is not acceptable. If you're ordering meat by the pound, I strongly recommend checking the weight before leaving or as soon as you get home. At these prices, customers should receive the amount they are paying for. Great food is not enough if regular customers don't feel they are being treated fairly. I really hope the management addresses this, because we genuinely liked coming here and would hate to stop supporting a place we used to enjoy.

Great place to come with friends to drink and eat good food!…read more Yes, its a bit pricier than normal skewer places, but i love the ambiance and vibe in here! super cyber-punky and sometimes they have live singers here! You cant really find a skewer place with this type of vibe, def a spot i like to take my out of town friends to for a good time I love getting the fried tofu skins, this is my favorite skewer to get. I actually prefer the regular skewers than the mini skewers just because the mini is so small you have to really bite into the metal stick (which can stab your mouth if your not careful, especially if you end up drinking too much) razor clams are bomb here! Yes they add hella chillies in here so you have to pick it out, but its hard to find places with a razor clam dish that is super tasty and flavorful The alcoholic drinks here are super unique and interesting, my method is to go for the cutest branding, and just order it, and suprisingly it ends up working in my favor LOL my favorite part, is the seasoning they use on all the skewers! that classic chinese taste :D

Been to Discovery Fusion so many times for late night bites, it never disappoints! I've noticed…read morethat depending on the day, the later you come, the louder it gets as they have live karaoke here. This place has such fun decorations and I love all the neon lights here as it's very well lit up inside. My top 3 favorite skewers are the beef, enoki, and a-choy. They're all coated with the same seasonings here so it's easy to get tired of so I always order a few of the grilled vermicelli oysters which are so tasty, and I love all the garlic it comes with! Some other good skewers are the chicken skin, pork belly, and corn. Love the drinks here too, most recently noticed they added an alcoholic blind box to the menu and it was so exciting to try 12 different mystery shots. Even though I did not enjoy half of the drinks, this is probably the most fun drinking concept I've seen at a restaurant and I'd absolutely order it again. The ambiance, customer service, and food are always all great - I'll never say no to dinner a Discovery!
