This gem is a little hard to find since it sits within a business complex, so keep a look-out for the sign! It's definitely worth a little searching and a stop if you're looking for a good meal. It's spacious with open seating. You order at the counter and grab a seat while you wait for your order to be called for pick-up. The staff is incredibly welcoming and kind. Everything on the menu honestly sounded so good that it was hard to pick. The portions are pretty generous, so come hungry or ready to share with friends! My top three go-tos have to be the hurricane chicken if I want something saucy with a crunch. Next would be their loco moco if I want comfort food. Last line of defense that's never failed me, their meat jun especially with their sauce!! Their food is always packed with flavor and most time their portions can feed me twice!! I can't count the amount of times I've come with family to dine in or to place a take out order to go. This place is always on it and service is efficient. It can get pretty busy depending on what time you're coming in but I've never found the wait time to be too crazy. There is also a solid amount of seating so whether you're here for a quick lunch break or having a meal with friends/family they've got the space. Read a story about Generations Kitchen being a go to place for some top chefs in Vegas, so I knew I needed to try it the next time I was there. It's off the strip on the corner of a business complex and sort of easy to miss if you aren't mapping using an online map app. Arrived around 1:30 pm in the afternoon on a weekday, and there were about 4 tables filled. The decor was streamlined, with a menu above the ordering area. They offer several classic lunch plate options, and we opted to try the furikake chicken, garlic chicken, and loco moco. The large portion of furikake chicken was nicely fried and well seasoned, sitting on a bed of white rice, with another scoop of white rice topped with furikake seasoning and a side of mac salad. The garlic chicken also had an excellent garlic flavor and crunch. The mac salad was creamy but was not as seasoned for our palate compared with other places. The loco moco had beautifully cooked over easy eggs and the beef patty was tender but a little overcooked and could have used more seasoning. A large volume of brown gravy covered the patty and rice which was great, but the gravy didn't taste homemade. We were disappointed that there was no poke or spam musubi available as they ran out early that day. Good selection of Hawaiian Sun sodas and various bottled drinks, but a bit of a bummer that they didn't have free ice water. Overall, despite a few misses, I would definitely come back to try other menu options and hopefully get there to try their poke and spam musubi as well. read more

The rice and mac salad that come with it are just okay. Pretty plain, nothing memorable, but they do the job as sides. Tried the poke bowl too, and honestly, it was a letdown. The poke itself was a bit too salty, and the bowl was basically just a mountain of rice with fish on top. No extra toppings, sides, or variety that I usually expect from a good poke bowl. It felt really one-dimensional. I highly recommend sticking to the garlic chicken. It is worth the trip alone. Will definitely skip the poke next time. Incredible service and Hawaiian food. We were in Vegas for 5 days and decided to check out Generation Kitchen as it was close to our condo We asked for suggestions and boy was she spot on. We got the garlic chicken and it was incredible. The chicken was so tender and beautifully breaded and seasoned with garlic bits. It was delicious! We enjoyed it so much that I had to try another item. I ordered the homemade hamburger steak with gravy and onions. Both were so good! Generation Kitchen closes early (6PM I think) and are not open on Sunday. We had late games midtown and were not able to get back in time so unfortunately had to trytwo other so called Hawaiian restaurants and were so disappointed. GK set the bar so high that those restaurants did could not even compare. If you are reading this, go check them out as you will we pleasantly surprised I can wait to visit Vegas again & GK will be my first stop once I exit the airport. read more

Mac salad was a bit plain, but easily solved with a bit of salt or the hurricane sauce. Service (5/5): it took a few minutes to get our food, especially since we did dine in, but we could tell that it was made to order, and it was def worth waiting for. Ambiance (5/5): it was hard to tell it was a Hawaiian restaurant considering the lack of decor, but there was a ton of seating, even when we went around noon, and plenty of parking too. I appreciate that when I called beforehand to make an order, they shared what days they are open during Christmas/New Years which makes it easy to know whether or not your call will go through or not. We ordered this for 4 people and we still had a lot of food leftover. - Loco Moco - I haven't had a loco moco in so long so this was a treat to have. I really like the curry they had all over it, but I'm not so sure if I was a big fan of the patty. I will give it to them that they took out the greasiness of the patty, but I wish there were some vinegar flavor in there as it still felt a bit meaty. - Garlic Chicken - We tried one other Hawaiian place's chicken in Las Vegas and I think they do garlic chicken better here. The chicken was incredibly tender and it was fried to perfection, not overly oily. - Hurricane Chicken - I think this is my favorite one out of the three entrees. I really loved the sauce on the chicken which went very well with the rice that was already marinated with soy sauce. Although i had tasted food from Generations Kitchen at Aunty D's celebration of life i have never been to the restaurant before. Generations is located in a industrial type park with lots of parking. Upon entering the lady at counter greeted us with "aloha" and promptly took our order. Ordering was HARD... i wanted everything! I decided on the Hamburger Steak plate & my friend ordered the Meat Jun plate and Garlic chicken. The plates were generous & YUMMY! Mac salad was perfect - not too much mayo just the way i like it! I had 2 good size hamburger patties - couldn't eat it all so i have the rest for dinner - not a bad thing hehe. The mean jun was tasty, and the garlic chicken was great as well! Pulled up to generation kitchen and they were unexpectedly closed. Their actual hours of operation aren't the same as their business hours listed on yelp. So be cautious of that. However, I didn't hold that against them. I just tried again the very next day fortunately, I was successful the second time around. I walked in about 30 minutes till closing. The customer service was good, but the food was even better. I ordered the hurricane chicken plate and love every bit of it. From the white rice to the flavorful chicken with the tasty sauce on top to the macaroni salad. I have several Hawaiian restaurant spots, but I can see generation kitchen becoming one of my faves.... We just recently discovered Generations Kitchen and they are definitely in the top 3 of my favorite Hawaiian food restaurants in Vegas! The location is in a industrial area near Valley View and Post Road. What I tried so far: Fried Noodles - Comes with Char Siu, Fish cake and onions (but no onions for me.) This is the best tasting Hawaiian style fried noodles I had in town! The noodles are always cooked perfectly. Furikake Chicken - maybe it was an off day the one time I ordered this one, but it was just average and not too much furikake on the chicken. Gen Pak - similar to Zippy's Zip Pac. Pretty tasty and I liked how they give you a slightly thicker cut of beef. The fried fish was a little overcooked, but it was still tasty. Hurricane Fries - this one was unique. Some type of mayo sauce with furikake and pieces of Arare (rice crackers) over fries. I'm excited to try the Hurricane Chicken on my next visit! Spam Musubi - I mean, it's kind of hard to screw this one up. Spicy Mayo Poke - very tasty. Normally I will get half a pound to go. The restaurant is clean with a good amount of tables and customer service is always friendly. No issues with parking. I'll most likely be back again next weekend! read more

This is probably one of the best Hawaiian food spots in town IMHO. The portions are INSANE. Lots of workers ok lunch break hanging out there. I got the poke nachos and asked for like very little sauce on the top because it is sauced up enough in the poke. We are from Honolulu and a friend that lives in Las Vegas brought us here for the first time. The owners are from O'ahu originally I have relocated their lives to Las Vegas as many other Hawaiians have. They have lots of free parking in the area. We walked in and there's a takeout order counter and some tables to sit at once you've placed your order and would like to in. It is decorated in true Hawaiian fashion. Two life size Kahili greet us and there is a Hawaiian cape hanging on the restaurant. We ordered one Poke bowl, one bowl of fried noodles, two red hot dog musubi for $35. Everything was Ono. They ran out of chopsticks, but they have aloha shoyu packets which is a very big plus for people from Hawai'i. The restaurant was clean, staff was friendly, and the prices were comparable to back home. Mahalo for bringing Hawai'i to Las Vegas. We will be back when we visit again. read more

The only bummer about Generations Kitchen is that they're in LV and not California! They were a vendor for San Diego's Holoholo Fest and had the longest line all weekend. There were multiple fried chicken places, but I saw someone walking by with this specific plate and I had to have it. You could tell it was better than all the rest! We got food from there twice- enjoying the garlic chicken, hurricane chicken (which is the garlic chicken with arare and mayo on it) and spicy ahi poke. I've visited this place twice in the past 2 weeks. That first time was on a Thursday during lunch time. It wasn't busy when we got there but got busier a few minutes later. We had to wait a bit for our food, around 15 to 20 minutes. My second visit was 2 days ago, a Wednesday, and it was better. We got our food in less than 10 minutes. I'm pretty familiar with garlic chicken and furikake chicken, but Hurricane Chicken was new to me. I asked one of the staff about it. So, it's basically furikake chicken but with garlic aioli, unagi sauce, and arare for that extra crunch. It sounded good, so I gave it a shot, and it did not disappoint. It was a solid 5 out 5! I was thinking about getting the bowl, but I went for the plate instead, because I assumed the bowl would have a big portion of rice but only a few small pieces of chicken. But when I saw my friend's Furikake Chicken bowl, I was surprised. There was much more chicken than I expected. Considering the price, it seemed like a great deal. But it turned out, there wasn't enough rice for all that chicken. So, it was actually the other way around. lol. I came back specifically to try their poke, but I was torn between that and the furikake chicken. Since they also do poke by the pound, I opted for furikake chicken bowl and got a quarter pound each of shoyu poke and spicy mayo poke. They were okay, not the best I've had. The furikake chicken was slightly salty, but overall, it was good. Both the hurricane chicken and furikake chicken were delish, but I like the hurricane chicken better. Customer service was great. The place was clean and well-lit. This could easily become my go-to spot for lunch, especially since it's close to my workplace, and they offer good food at reasonable prices. read more
