It's been awhile since I ate here. Seems to have improved the protein quantity. In the past I barely received any steak and the rice was excessive but now it is reasonably balanced. Ginger sauce is ok and not my favorite. The steak and chicken is well done and so are the vegetables. The steak like most Asian restaurants suffers a little, it is a little chewy but still flavorful and easy to bite through. Chicken is also well done and flavorful. I wish they offered Dr. Pepper and fountain drinks but they suspended the fountain drinks and seating due to COVID. Take out only, bottled drinks and hand made drinks only. Overall not bad and a big improvement from when I last visited a few years ago. read more

My first order through Grubhub was very good. Delicious, the sauces enhanced the flavors. It's my second order that I had a problem with. Again, I used Grubhub, ordering the steak + chicken + shrimp bowl with fried rice, zucchini, onions, mushrooms, and sprouts. Guess which protein didn't make it to my bowl. The shrimp. And yet I was charged the full 17.00. Good food, very poor order accuracy. A bit cheated here. Genji has good food when it's fresh, but I will not be coming back because I believe it is absolutely ridiculous to pay an extra $1 per added vegetable. Mushrooms, onion, and zucchini. $3 to have all three? Are you kidding? Vegetables tend to be the cheapest part of the meal, maybe aside from the rice. I like to have a lot of veggies in my meals and this model just does not work for me. Perhaps I'm a cheap-ass but I can live with that. On the other hand, the people who work there have always been very nice and attentive. They work quickly, their workspace always appears to be clean at least from what you can see when standing at the counter, and I've never had to wait very long for a pickup order. Delicious! I got the steak, shrimp, and chicken combo to get them all, along with fried rice, zucchini, mushrooms, and bean sprouts. I also tried both the yum yum and the ginger sauces. Everything was amazing! I easily made two meals of the one combo, and the food came in a microwave safe container and kept till the next day easily (probably would last longer but I couldn't wait to have it again!). The ginger sauce was very good but is not very similar to other hibachi places in town. There is a lot more real ginger intensity which makes a little go a long way, and there is also a bit of a liquid top to dip in if you're not as into the stronger pieces. Most sauces are more of a homogeneous slurry. The yum-yum sauce was much better than competitors'. Usually I find it to be glorified ranch but this had a much more interesting flavor profile while retaining the creamy concept and I used more than I anticipated (best on the chicken but good on all the meats). My husband doesn't like rice (crazy!) and wishes noodles were an option, but was happy he could get some extra veggies in place of the rice. read more

The food was delicious and great servings for the price. The service on the other hand I don't think was great. My family came in at 8:15 and they closed the dining room and were emptying the drinks. I asked them if they cared if we sat down that we came here with our family and live in different homes and wanted to eat dinner together. She did say if we want to stay we had to use the high table in the back...I did have younger children with me, but I let her know that will work. While we were waiting she came back and said if we can't finish by 9 then we can't stay because they lock their doors at 9. We didn't get our food until 8:45 so unfortunately we just took our food home and didn't eat out with our other family. There was 7 total people who came in after me and left due to dining being closed. If the dining closes at a certain time I would suggest to update the hours to also include dining hours. Due to those workers wanting to close and get out it really took down the atmosphere and made people feel unwelcome. Best service I ever had here!! The cashier name Clayton was absolutely amazing customer service. Me and my fiancé loved how he had a smile on his face with positive energy from the start. I was caught off guard to ever had someone with that much energy and showing that he truly loves his job. While we were waiting for our food he turns around gives his co-worker a hi-five and then he was giving his other co worker a fist pump that turn into his co-worker doing a little dance. First of all, I dislike giving bad reviews but I think this one is deserved. I've made one visit to Genji-Go. While I think I would try it again, here are the reasons I'd give 2 stars: 1) the food isn't fresh. Everything I ordered was already prepared and served to me within probably seconds. For the price you pay (my meal was $15 with two veggies added), shouldn't it be cooked to order? 2) they got my order wrong. I ordered a steak bowl and they added shrimp to it. rather than have them make the whole bowl again, I just agreed to pay for the shrimp. upon opening and eating when I got home, there were only like 3 shrimp in the whole thing. so I basically paid an extra $4 for three damn shrimp. 3) Since it wasn't made fresh, the yum yum sauce is really what made it taste good. without that, pretty lackluster. 4) I didn't really like the idea that you had to pay an extra $1 for each vegetable that you added to your bowl. Again, I think I'd try it again, but not before trying their competition down the road, hibachi fresh. read more

We order the veggies and rice with yum yum sauce. It is delish! We love it! The only thing I would change is the sodium. It can be very salty. Other than that the amount of food that is given is usually a lot (enough for Hubby and I to split). The yum yum sauce is amazing! My Hubby also likes their ginger sauce too. If you get any of the meals with meat you get a significantly less amount of food, just an fyi unless you order veggies which costs more. I am not a huge meat eater so this works out well for me. Their veggies are really yummy! Therefore I highly recommend trying their veggies and chow mein. Best bang for your buck there :) read more

My Family & I love this place. We order their take out several times a month. The food is always yummy. Love the Yum Yum Sauce too! I would have given them 5 stars but over the past year or so, for some reason they stopped putting im enough soy sauce while making it. We Love the Genji's Restraunt's in Dublin & Reynoldsburg and only wish the "to go" would make it like them with plenty of soy. So remember to get some soy packets to add in. read more
