When I first moved to Fort Collins, I told myself I would be frequenting this spot as my "home office" when I needed to get out of the house. Unfortunately it fell off my radar (2 years of COVID didn't help), but since I've returned, it's become a favorite, yet again! This cute little coffee shop offers coffee, tea, breakfast burritos, sandwiches, salads, beer and wine! When I'm looking for a quiet place to do spreadsheets, I get myself one of their happy hour priced glasses of wine (you have to go there to find the happy hour times/deals since they don't list them on their website) and cozy up at one of their tall tables in the back, or settle into the cushiony leather chairs up front. The other day I was hankering for some food and, after perusing their website, decided on the California Turkey. I pulled up to the shop (plenty of parking out front, even though it's in a King Soopers parking lot which is always packed) and saw the sign out front advertising their "special of the day". My California Turkey was listed for over a dollar less! I ordered that with pasta salad to go and tipped generously. The food here is unbelievable, especially considering how simple it is. The croissants are pillowy soft and the ingredients are obviously fresh. I haven't had a tomato so bright red and perfectly ripe in YEARS! The pasta salad was generously dosed with salty feta and fresh basil. I devoured the entirety of the sandwich and salad, which never happens. I'll be back even more often for some more of their delicious food, red wines and cozy atmosphere!

Great atmosphere, very chill and friendly!

Service was great, loved the self service coffee station provided for free! The sausage and green chile quiche was to die for! Great coffee and a recliner to read and eat while sipping on coffee. Will definitely come back!

Fun Fact: Genoa Coffee & Wine serves house made treats alongside food and beverages sourced from local vendors. More than a coffee shop, this cute little spot offers some next level food and beverage items. On a recent visit, I got to sample a variety of incredible options: * Hummus, Egg, and Feta Wrap with Tomato~a deliciously unique breakfast wrap that offered a delightful array of textures. Croissant Caprese~mozzarella, tomato, and pesto, this treat comes from The Bread Chic and often sells out early in the day. Carrot Cake~another amazing contribution by The Bread Chic, it's one of the best carrot cakes I've had. And it's veggies, so it's healthy, right? Very Berry Scone~made in house makes all the difference. Iced Matcha with Lavender Cold Foam~this may be my new favorite drink. Apple Cider Mimosa~mimosas have to be really good for me to like them. I liked this one! * With a variety of fun seating options, a great patio, and an incredible staff, this small but mighty local coffee shop should not be missed.

We were headed to King Soopers for our Thanksgiving shopping and decided we should grab something to eat to avoid buying the whole grocery store due to being hungry. We went to Genoa for a breakfast burrito. We ordered two breakfast burritos with sausage, one with green chili. The coffee shop was not too busy, there were a couple of tables open and no line. The burritos took about 22 minutes. The sausage in the breakfast burrito is not a breakfast sausage, rather an Italian sausage, like what I would expect to be on a pizza. The green chili tasted more like a salsa that came straight from a jar. While the burrito itself was not totally bland, I was not a fan of the sausage or the green chili. The coffee shop is cute and cozy. This is a place I would come back to, maybe for a coffee and study sesh. I may try more food too, eventually.

Genoa is a nice little corner place to meet a friend or have a place to study. They have a full food menu and alcohol options. Their coffee is pretty good. I am not too pleased with their prices. They're the same as Starbucks pretty much. Their homemade gluten free biscotti is actually pretty delicious! If I'm near this coffee shop, I don't hesitate to go in. Great place to grab a quick coffee!

I have high hopes here because everything is so cute. Ended up getting the breakfast Panini with sausage. And it turned out extremely plain. Not much flavor to it just the bare basics. Also didn't have any ketchup or sauce to dip with it. I mean it's fine if you're just trying to get your nutrients in and be basic but I thought it would have a little more pizzazz. Nevertheless, super cute place and they play great music. I also really enjoy that they have the coffees explained on the wall lol.

Good lattes. Like many non-Starbucks coffee establishments, Genoa offers a wider selection of flavor/syrup combos. They also provide Almond Milk as an option which I like. I would prefer a greater selection of sugar free syrups from which to choose. Atmosphere is great, seating is typically plentiful and they have a nice patio in warmer weather. The service is consistently friendly. If they stayed open a bit later, I might occasionally stop by in the evening with friends for a glass of wine, but every time I think to do so, they won't be open the hours I need. All-in-all, Genoa is a great alternative to the often-crowded Starbucks a mile away and is a WAY better choice than the inside-King Soopers Starbucks.

Our reserved table was clearly marked as ours, safely 6 feet away from anyone else !

If you want a late night whiskey or beer or maybe a hot dog this place is fine. But if you want a warm meal then go somewhere else. I don't even think they have the equipment for it. Last two times I accepted the food and said nothing. Thought it was quirky or just my mood. Tonight was just stupid. My daughter and I rode our bikes here and we both ordered potatoes. They were uncooked. Not even warm enough to melt butter. I had mine taken back and reheated and even with the oven and everything they were unable to melt the butter on top of the potato. My daughter didn't complain and just picked at hers while we waited. After spending an extra 10 minutes in the oven the butter was still not melted. I'm not 100% on cooking but I'm pretty sure thats not how it works. They took off $5 for the potato (out of the $25 price) and then the waitress tried to defend it by saying it was the type of cheddar that kept it from melting. I really hope they fail and we can get a competent dive bar here because it is nice to get a late night drink.

After finishing our complimentary Zinfandel glasses, we ventured inside and sat at the hand-built bar. The beer, wine and liquor options were extensive! We opted for a locally brewed beer (Soul Squared's Fore Throw Blonde), and ordered their famous Ocean Burger made with beef sourced from one of the local farmers less than twenty miles away, pepperjack almond cheese, and topped with the reddest, juiciest tomatoes and most crisp lettuce I've ever had! The owners (and manager) are exceptionally friendly, the music selection was fantastic, and the food is something I'll go back for repeatedly. They're rated really high -- actually one of the highest-rated restaurants in Fort Collins -- and from a food perspective I don't really understand why. Sliders with sweet potato fries -- fine, nothing extraordinary. Potato éclairs -- . It was really just mashed potatoes with some topping on it. I honestly didn't even finish it. Mountain oysters -- huge letdown. They came out so overcooked they were basically crunchier than potato chips, with the batter crumbling off. I've never had them before, so I didn't get a good representation of how they're supposed to be -- these were just super-cooked batter. On the space: we ended up sitting in three different spots to eat. We went outside by the street first -- super loud, and people were smoking, so we headed back in. The open spot inside was right under the AC and about forty degrees, so we moved to the back area. The back was fine -- covered -- but pretty dirty, with mop buckets and clutter sitting around. The one drink I had was a good value since we were there at happy hour -- some kind of fruity whiskey drink. It was fine, but nothing I'd seek out again. I hate to give such a friendly place a bad review. It'd be a really great spot if you're a college student who wants some cheap bites and a drink -- but honestly it's just bar food, and the ceiling is probably a 4 on a really good day. I wouldn't get excited to head down there, and parking is a bit of a hassle too. Would recommend only if you're after very cheap eats in that area -- check them out for happy hour. But I would not return.
