I live just a few minutes away, but had never been to this cute café. I stopped in for a specialty latte and loved the decorations and expensive menu that they have. My drink was really good and this will now be on my rotation when I go out for coffee. I do think that it's concerning that they keep their gluten-free items open and in the same case as regular items, as this is dangerous for those with allergies. Calling things gluten-free when they're cross contaminated is not OK. read more

Very rude staff. Not even worth the few cents of gas we wasted to drive there, as we ended up walking out. We were excited to find a coffee shop less than 2 minutes from our new home. The hours listed on Yelp stated that they were open until 5:30 every day of the week. So we showed up just before 2pm. It appears that they changed their hours on Google; So the man working behind the counter scowled and scoffed at us and was very rude because apparently the shop was closing at 2pm that day. Mind you, the large open sign in the window was lit up, stating that they were open still. They should probably consider updating their hours Everywhere online in addition to not treating customers like they're a severe inconvenience because they show up during the hours displayed online. read more

When I first moved to Fort Collins, I told myself I would be frequenting this spot as my "home office" when I needed to get out of the house. Unfortunately it fell off my radar (2 years of COVID didn't help), but since I've returned, it's become a favorite, yet again! This cute little coffee shop offers coffee, tea, breakfast burritos, sandwiches, salads, beer and wine! When I'm looking for a quiet place to do spreadsheets, I get myself one of their happy hour priced glasses of wine (you have to go there to find the happy hour times/deals since they don't list them on their website) and cozy up at one of their tall tables in the back, or settle into the cushiony leather chairs up front. The other day I was hankering for some food and, after perusing their website, decided on the California Turkey. I pulled up to the shop (plenty of parking out front, even though it's in a King Soopers parking lot which is always packed) and saw the sign out front advertising their "special of the day". My California Turkey was listed for over a dollar less! I ordered that with pasta salad to go and tipped generously. The food here is unbelievable, especially considering how simple it is. The croissants are pillowy soft and the ingredients are obviously fresh. I haven't had a tomato so bright red and perfectly ripe in YEARS! The pasta salad was generously dosed with salty feta and fresh basil. I devoured the entirety of the sandwich and salad, which never happens. I'll be back even more often for some more of their delicious food, red wines and cozy atmosphere! read more

I was in from 7a-9a on a Monday morn. There was no music the first hour and I had to listen to the two 20-year old baristas blab incessantly sooooooo LOUD the entire time. Just bad mouthing people and swearing, sooo loudly. I couldn't concentrate, couldn't hear myself on the phone, and was getting a headache from their voices. By 8:00, they put some music on - shuffling between absurdly loud, intense movie scene music and inappropriate rap music with loads of swear words. Still talking obnoxiously loud. Pure torture. A guy next to me had to take a phone call outside cuz he couldn't hear himself. Brutal environment. Not what I look for in a cafe. We were headed to King Soopers for our Thanksgiving shopping and decided we should grab something to eat to avoid buying the whole grocery store due to being hungry. We went to Genoa for a breakfast burrito. We ordered two breakfast burritos with sausage, one with green chili. The coffee shop was not too busy, there were a couple of tables open and no line. The burritos took about 22 minutes. The sausage in the breakfast burrito is not a breakfast sausage, rather an Italian sausage, like what I would expect to be on a pizza. The green chili tasted more like a salsa that came straight from a jar. While the burrito itself was not totally bland, I was not a fan of the sausage or the green chili. The coffee shop is cute and cozy. This is a place I would come back to, maybe for a coffee and study sesh. I may try more food too, eventually. read more

I have high hopes here because everything is so cute. Ended up getting the breakfast Panini with sausage. And it turned out extremely plain. Not much flavor to it just the bare basics. Also didn't have any ketchup or sauce to dip with it. I mean it's fine if you're just trying to get your nutrients in and be basic but I thought it would have a little more pizzazz. Good lattes. Like many non-Starbucks coffee establishments, Genoa offers a wider selection of flavor/syrup combos. They also provide Almond Milk as an option which I like. I would prefer a greater selection of sugar free syrups from which to choose. Atmosphere is great, seating is typically plentiful and they have a nice patio in warmer weather. The service is consistently friendly. If they stayed open a bit later, I might occasionally stop by in the evening with friends for a glass of wine, but every time I think to do so, they won't be open the hours I need. All-in-all, Genoa is a great alternative to the often-crowded Starbucks a mile away and is a WAY better choice than the inside-King Soopers Starbucks. read more

Food and coffee was good, but every time I come here it is very slow, takes forever for them to make a sandwich. I had 20 minutes to eat and unfortunately had to leave because my sandwich was not ready within that time period ( there were only a few people in store) . So, I left and said I will pick up the sandwich in a few hours. I came here a few times and always experienced long wait. In a few hours I picked up my sandwich and it was good, but unfortunately in a such a busy world I am going to go to Starbucks avoiding to wait for my sandwich for so long. Finally got the courage to go back after last time and the temperature is perfect now so it's a cozy coffee shop again. Oh and they are making their own burritos again and they are delicious! I usually really enjoy this establishment. I went here to grab a coffee and snack with my husband today, and we waited at the counter for 5 minutes without so much as a word from any of the employees. During this time, the young lady who appeared as if she was working the counter (who saw us walk in) was talking with her friends at the end of the bar, and someone else walked in from the street and went behind the counter to talk to the cook in the back. It was like we were invisible. I won't be returning and will encourage my friends not to return either. Such a shame. read more

I came here for a work meeting. Parking was easy to find. Seating was decent and I was able to find a table for our party of 3 pretty easily. They had a great selection of teas here. I went with a nice earl grey. It was great quality and they brought it out to my table in a little teapot, which was great. I have never felt the need to write a review for anywhere until I started coming here. This place is AMAZING. The food is always amazing and the coffee is delicious. I used to come here a lot when I was in high school but once I started college the commute here was a little far. Safe to say I will be making the commute here more. Their customer service is really why I will be returning here more often. As I sat there the food was brought to me ( literally so nice) and the people who helped me were also so sweet and happily chat with you. The owner has referred to multiple customers by name and seems to really care about they're employees as well. Seriously I have not found a better coffee shop to come study in! From the outside this little place looks like your average mini mall coffee shop. Fortunately that is not the case. It is a quaint coffee shop that serves a variety of pastries, breakfast burritos, bagels, sandwiches and salads. The scones & cinnamon rolls are baked fresh daily. They make all of the pastries and bagels there. They have a wide variety of wine and a decent selection of beer. They also have a featured red & white wines of the week. A glass of the feature wine is only $5.00. When you order your food they make it to order and will bring it to your table. They do not make you stand in a line like the fast pace corporate coffee shops. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed. This would be a perfect place for a college student to get some studying done. The best part is the awesome patio, where you can enjoy your food and surf the wi-fi. This place is truly a gem hidden in Fort Collins. read more

We were on the hunt for a nice, simple breakfast. The place looked great inside. However, there were rolls and pastries right out in the open next to the register. I am not very fond of having every customer breathing on my food. Shouldn't it have been covered? There were other items inside of a case though. We opted for a quiche lorraine. That's was excellent. Wonderful taste and presentation. We could not wait to get to our banana walnut bread, since the quiche was great. Unfortunately, it may have been the worst banana bread each of us has ever had. Again, beautiful presentation but it is almost as if there were no bananas in it. I did not taste any. The atmosphere is great, the people who work there are extremely friendly. The new owners have done a great job! The staff is very helpful and remembers me when I arrive. Their menu is fresh and has good simple flavors to choose from. I'm a fan of their atmosphere and it is always clean when I am there. The only reason I haven't rated Genoa a five is because their location is unfortunately near a road and the patio isn't as calm as I would like. Obviously a small thought that they can't change. I've been here numerous times for pleasure as well as to perform music. Whether I am playing or students are performing - we are always well received. Our food has always been delicious. Cute little shop near a large grocery store, so tons of space. I came here to steal wifi lol. So I ordered a coffee and was given an actual cup (very homey feeling) and was pointed in the direction of the many assortments of coffee that were self serve, and bottomless cups. This was great so I could just get up from my table and refill as many times as I wanted. I didn't order any food, but I did sit at a communal table and saw an assortment of both breakfast and lunch items from customers sitting near me that looked absolutely delicious. Genoa Cafe has new owners but all the best things about it are the same if not even better they're consistently warm clean high quality food and coffee extremely kind service in addition they have a coffee card you can get stabbed and then eventually go in and get yourself a free coffee or medium drink people come here for work meeting friend meetings lunch breaks construction workers before they go to work older adults on there managing meetings and then hanging out and laughing middle-aged people students just see everybody here it's a very polite place with beautiful seating and beautiful lighting and super convenient and there's always parking and now I'm eating their pumpkin chocolate chip special muffin and it's awesome. I always really enjoy my decision to come to Genoa. In my eyes, they really shine with: bakery items, sandwiches, friendliness, cleanliness, ambiance and WIFI speed. Their coffee has always been good but not really why I found myself coming to Genoa. Cons: Genoa is no secret and is busy in the mornings. Staff stays happy and friendly, but may become absent-minded. (I'll be back to test this hypothesis) No fireplace. This place is begging for a fireplace. The atmosphere creates the expectation of one with the dark walls, warm lighting, and light background chatter. Alas, there is no fireplace. One of my favorite hangouts are coffee shops. This has been true ever since I was old enough to actually order a cup of coffee and read the local weekly papers. The nights where we used to sit and sip on mochas, listening to spoken word were some of the best memories I have and the best of those were when we lived in Vegas (those were the days!) The atmosphere feels like home, the coffee is always amazing (much better than I can do with my ghetto drip at home) and the food is usually scrumptious. Fort Collins has some great coffee shops that not only make me reminisce about my favorite coffee house days, but actually create more of those fabulous moments. Tonight happens to be one of them at Genoa Coffee and Wine. I had no idea what I was going to order once I go to the counter, but once I saw the $5 wine special (Luis Bernard Cates-du-Rhone for the red and Valley Of The Moon Rosato di Sangiovese for white), I was all about it. Screaming kids will do that to you, you know. The girls working at the counter were fantastic. They were nice and helpful when I was asking about the red wine they had available. When they couldn't answer questions, they brought the bottle out for me to look over. Once I had decided on the red wine, I was asked if I wanted to start a tab. Cue the chorus of angles! I think I had a perma-smile for the rest of the night. Overall, I think this place might be my second writing home. It's close to where I live, it's cute, warm, the food is decent and they have wine in addition to coffee. I'll write about my next experience after I come back again and try some more. I'm a big Genoa fan. I love the selection of coffee drinks in the morning and wine in the evening. Because, let's be honest... What else do you need?! The ham breakfast is my favorite and comes with a side of 505 green chili on request. Be forewarned... It's ginormous. I never have polished off a full one on my own. Half is easily enough! Staff is friendly, atmosphere is quaint, and the chai tastes amazing in a ceramic mug. Just check it out and you won't be disappointed. read more
