Overall great restaurant. Nice place to eat for some seafood by the beach. If you're lucky, they'll seat you closer to the edge so you have a better view, otherwise it's not a great view of the beach or anything except the sky haha. Food was decent, a little pricey for what it is but you're here for the vibes more than anything. Cant complain about service, the hostess, waiter, and valet were all nice. Unfortunately the only parking option will be valet so have that extra cost ready. They do allow you to pay for validation with your bill, so that's convenient. Came here for a special anniversary but I don't believe they offer anything extra for special celebration days.

Cute place to grab breakfast/brunch with a view in the heart of Malibu. We tried: jumbo coconut shrimp & lobster cobb salad this time. Jumbo coconut shrimp was probably the best coconut shrimp I've had. The lobster Cobb was also very good- a simple salad with fresh lobster on top. Valet parking only it's easy to miss the entrance. You might want to pay extra attention when you get close.

The appeal of Geoffrey's is the view that makes all your problems dissolve, and the buzz of comforting chatter. My party had made a reservation and had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated, which we spent at the bar. For such an upscale restaurant, the bar was underwhelming and had limited chairs. Highlights included a phenomenal lychee martini and the bread. May be a bit unfair of a rating, because other members of my party enjoyed their mains. As for mine, the paella was visually beautiful, but it did not taste as I expected. One unexpected moment was when my waiter lost my credit card. Although they tried to remedy the situation, it was very unprofessional, especially because I was traveling, and it put me out a bit. All in all, a decent evening, but the low points tend to linger longer than the high ones. I wouldn't rush back.

This seaside restaurant has incredible ocean views. We've always had great food here, but on this visit it missed a beat. We've never seen it as busy as this visit and I will show them grace as they were completely full with graduates. Service by Austin and his associates was polished. My food was especially disappointing. The crab cake on the Benedict was flat as a pancake and barely warm, so were the roasted potatoes. The accompanying fruit was fresh. The salmon looked amazing, as did the scallops. Chicken piccata was a bit dry and didn't have much lemony flavor. This is a great location for a special occasion, but I'll keep in mind the possibility of a crowd affecting food quality.

I went to Geoffrey's Malibu for brunch with my ex-boyfriend on Sunday March 19th, 2023. Before that, I had lunch here with my parents on June 13th, 2022 for Father's Day. And before that, I think I had visited here once a very long time ago. "At the beach, life is different. Time doesn't move hour to hour but mood to moment. We live by the currents, plan by the tides and follow the sun." - Sandy Gingras I love Malibu. I always love going to the beach, and I think I've been to Malibu more than 50 times. My ex-boyfriend used to live in Malibu. His house was right in front of Malibu Beach with a beautiful ocean view. He made a reservation at Geoffrey's Malibu and sent me an invitation link for Sunday brunch. Oh yeah... Geoffrey's Malibu is one of my favorite restaurants. Who doesn't love an ocean view? Haha. We also had a family brunch here last year on Father's Day. Geoffrey's is still the best, especially on a beautiful, clear, sunny day in Malibu. I had the seafood paella and a cappuccino, and my boyfriend had an omelette and a mimosa. The paella portion was very large, but honestly it wasn't that tasty. But the ocean view is absolutely lovely. (3/19/2023 - Sunday Brunch) I also came here with my parents for a Father's Day celebration. We had lunch here on Monday, June 13th, 2022. I took a day off that day, and it turned out to be such a great day. The view and the music created a wonderful ambiance. The atmosphere was perfect. The ocean view and the short walk to the beach were amazing. I especially loved the ocean-view seating. My dad had the crab cake eggs benedict, my mom had the tofu salad, and I had the chicken piccata with a strawberry lemonade. All of the food was good, but honestly I think the chicken piccata at The Cheesecake Factory is better. Oh... and the dessert, crème brûlée, was so good. This place is great for an upscale lunch or dinner with a beautiful ocean view. It was such a lovely time. (6/13/2022 - Monday Lunch) These are the reviews I originally wrote on my Instagram at the time. cf) My ex-boyfriend lived in Malibu with a beautiful ocean view, but sadly his house was destroyed in the wildfire in January 2025. He also passed away in October last year. It was an incredibly difficult time for me. I cried a lot, and for a long time I couldn't even look at the names of the restaurants we had visited together. It made me emotional and very sad. This is another place that holds many memories of my ex-boyfriend. Geoffrey's Malibu, along with Moon shadows, holds so many memories with my ex-boyfriend. Moon shadows was especially close to his house, so we went there very often. Sadly, it burned down due to the wildfire in January 2025. It's really heartbreaking to think about.

Geoffrey's was wonderful! We had an ocean view outdoor table that was cozy and intimate to celebrate our engagement. Staff was very kind and prompt with service. We didn't feel rushed or pressured to order anything. Our server was very helpful when modifying menu options and responsive to questions. He even gave us a cute candle to celebrate and took our photo. Food was exceptional! The portion size was very reasonable and all our food was prepared well. The bread that came out before the meal was delightful. The bar made some of the best cocktails we have had. I really enjoyed our celebratory meal! I would highly recommend checking this place out. They do valet parking and add it to your check. The staff was very nice. The restaurant was clean. And the views are show stopping (I was too shocked to take any pictures, but Instagram doesn't lie!) . It was such a lovely place to celebrate our engagement and I would go again when in Malibu.

Geoffrey's keeps its reputation for a reason. Everything from their service, food and of course, their view is outstanding. We had a beautiful time celebrating a family birthday where we had Angela as our waitress. She was so kind and made us feel so comfortable. We ordered the sea bass, sword fish and New York steak. All tasted delicious!

When our kids are home for the holidays, they always choose a place to take us for brunch. They have great memories coming to Geoffrey's since they were toddlers so it's quite nostalgic for them. Needless to say, the husband and I were so happy that they chose Geoffrey's this year. With the recent rain we were a bit worried that it would be too wet or overcast. It was not! It turned out to be an absolutely perfect sunny, clear day. It seems that many people were worried about the weather as well because the place stayed fairly empty for our entire visit. We have not had this experience for years. The menu has remained consistent -- we all selected our favorites. It was all quite delicious although everyone agreed that the rosemary rolls have gotten smaller and a bit denser. Marcie was our server -- she was exceptional. She anticipated our needs and handled the smallest details. With no crowd, fantastic weather and the glistening ocean as the backdrop -- we had an absolutely beautiful time!

Geoffrey's has been a special occasion go to for 30+ years and never disappoints. The food is amazing, the Malibu location is so beautiful it feels like a mini vacation and the service is always on point. My husband took me for my birthday last week and it was wonderful. We ordered past favorites- starting with their delicious tuna tartare and sharing the scallops and risotto along with the lobster cobb. If you haven't tried it- you are missing out big time.

Such an amazing sunset view. I loved the way they have the tables hugging the mountain for optimal views. The food was amazing. The staff was also great. The scallops were great. The oysters were good but seemed like it was just one variety. There was no description of where the oysters were from. The coconut shrimp was also great. The ahi tuna was good but we wish it came with more than 3 wanton crackers.

A wonderful place to go for Valentine's Day! They were VERY busy for the holiday. Had a pre fixe menu and a 2 hour time limit. Valet was included in the price! Absolutely beautiful restaurant. The service was phenomenal, Jackie was so attentive and kind. Food tasted great! Felt so romantic and intimate, would definitely come back to try their regular menu.

My wife and I went to Geoffrey's for a Valentine's Day brunch. The service was amazing-- our sever was attentive, kind, and very friendly. He made us feel very welcome and was the best part of our experience. The ambiance and view was also great -- an ocean view with lots of plants and greenery was a very pleasant setting for a Saturday lunch. The food was not very good at all -- we got the tuna tartare, which was ok. A little bit too much sauce and the tuna wasn't very fresh tasting. I got the Chilean sea bass, which was also just ok. The fish wasn't very high quality and the pineapple on top tasted like it was from a can. My wife got the filet mignon with Chimichurri sauce. The filet was really bad -- it tasted boiled. The Chimichurri sauce was more of an oil than a Chimichurri -- you could get something much better from the local grocery store. For something with such a high price point and pristine location, you'd expect the food to be a looooot better.

Steak is incredibly overdone - cook didn't remake it when he remade the eggs that had a ton of shells in them... absurd.

    No. They don't.

Are there any vegetarian appetizers and dishes?

    Yes they are.

Once you place your reservation by online or phone let them know you want to reserve a table by the ocean view and they definitely will accommodate you

What is the usual attire here? How dressy is too dressy short of a prom dress......lol

I saw a couple of dudes in shorts, and I wore ripped jeans with heels at dinner time so I would say semi formal if you want. Place is nice but the fancy part would be the check so you don't need a long dress just a fat wallet lol

What vegan options are there? Someone please let me know...... thank you! Specific dishes? Thanks again......

The Miso Braised Tofu I guess is vegan. I had that and it was pretty good.

What is the price range? The menu in the website doesn't have prices

If you go to the Yelp site and look at all pictures and then single out "menu photo's" you can get an idea of the cost per item. Apps start at about $18 and go to $22, Dinner items start at $29 for miso braised tofu and go to $94 for surf and turf… Read more

    It is highly recommended.

    Can you wear flip flops?

Yes, the line can be long, but there's a reason for that--this place is phenomenal. Between the incredible food, friendly staff, and stunning location, it's worth every minute of the wait. On our most recent visit, we ordered a 16-ounce clam chowder (in a bowl, not a bread bowl), a side of seaweed salad, a side of imitation crab salad, and the fried fish and fries. Not only was everything delicious, but we were honestly shocked that all of that food came out to around $50. The portions are generous, the quality is outstanding, and the value is hard to beat, especially in Malibu. One thing that always stands out is the hospitality. Everyone working here seems genuinely happy to be there. Every visit, we're greeted by smiling faces and great service. You can tell this place is run by people who care about what they do. Over the past year, we've tried quite a few items on the menu, and I can honestly say we've never had a bad meal. It's hard to pick a favorite because everything is consistently excellent. The outdoor seating area overlooking the water makes the experience even better. Sitting outside with fresh seafood, ocean views, and the Malibu breeze is pretty hard to top. If you're in Malibu and looking for a great place to eat, do not pass this spot by. You won't regret it. We've tried the grilled salmon in the past- and it's nicely cooked and tasty - but the star of the show is their fried offerings. What could be better than a crisply fried piece of cod with delicious fries overlooking the ocean? They do a better job frying fish than much more expensive places (looking at you Santa Monica seafood restaurant). The coleslaw is always fresh, and we also love the creamy chowder, chock full of clam bits. My one note is that they do not season their food so you need to add salt and pepper to everything. The coleslaw benefits from salt and a squeeze of lemon or a few drops of the malt vinegar on the table (also good with the fries of course). I'm not sure why they don't season their fish or batter - but maybe they figure it's best to keep it unsalted and people can add seasoning? There is also hot sauce on the table which adds the perfect zing to the chowder. The people who run the place are friendly and the place is especially popular on weekends. I'd recommend coming midweek either before or after peak lunch hours. Highly recommend.

La Nena Cantina Visited: March 8, 2026…read more This was my first time trying La Nena Cantina, and I was pleasantly surprised. Even though we kept it simple and only ordered the nachos, they were very good and packed with flavor. The nachos were $15, and we added beef for $6, bringing the food total to $21. They were topped with carne asada, beans, a small side of guacamole, and a generous amount of finely chopped jalapeño, which gave the whole dish a really nice kick. The setting is also a big plus. The restaurant sits in a beautiful spot in Malibu with nice views of the surrounding hills, which makes it a great place to relax and enjoy a casual meal. Service is the only reason this doesn't quite make it to five stars. Everyone we interacted with was very friendly, but the staff just wasn't attentive enough. Our table went quite a while without water, and when I ordered a fountain soda ($4) it took long enough that I eventually had to flag down another server walking by to ask for it. All in all, the food was very good and the location is excellent. Our total for the nachos with beef and a soda came to $27.49 with tax, which is about what you'd expect in Malibu. Despite the minor service issues, I'd definitely come back and try more from the menu next time.

Believe the hype!…read more First time at this Nobu and this was my first impression. Pros: very Island like with the breeze from the ocean. Casual attire, in despite many said including their website no open-toed shoes for men. I saw plenty of men with their toes out. Very cool vibes. Service is rather fast especially for such a busy place. Our waiter Oscar was top tier. Everything we ordered was excellent to the point we didn't get to take pictures of them. We dove right in. Cons: you most likely need a reservation to go in. Things to know: there is valet parking for $15

First time at Nobu and it didn't not disappoint. We celebrated my wife's birthday and she loved it…read more Great atmosphere and food. We sat outside the patio and ocean views were amazing. Plenty of memorable photo-op moments. Though it was slightly chilly, there were plenty of heaters to keep us comfortable. Service was impeccable, staff was friendly and attentive. The bottle of Matsuhisa Cabernet Sauvignon set event in motion. Did not know he had his own bottle of wine. Excellent bold red wine with nice smooth, fruit-forward finish. We ordered a variety of cold dishes. The Yellow tail jalapeno was terrific and so refreshing. Highly recommend! Both crispy rice with spicy tuna and wagyu & tuna tacos were good, but nothing to write home about. Nigri Bluefin Toro was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The texture was incredibly tender and buttery. Both salmon and tuna sushi were on point as well. Freshness is key. Their signature Black Cod with Miso was stellar and flavorful. A bit on sweeter side in good way. Unfortunately, they were out of Rock Shrimp Tempura, but had the Cod Tempura instead, which we thought was just okay. We got a variety of meat dishes - Ribeye with Truffle Butter, 16oz Prime New York Strip and 6oz Wagyu. Of course, wagyu was everyone's favorite, followed by ribeye which was tender and delicious. Crispy Brussels Sprouts was underwhelming and lacking presentation. It looked a bit mashed up and overcooked. Roasted cauliflower was a nice side dish to accompany our meal. We ended the evening with desserts and got date cake; and bento box which is dark chocolate cake and matcha ice cream. OMG date cake was surprisingly good! It was gone in seconds soon as it arrived. The dark chocolate cake was sweet and fudgy. Definitely would come back if someone else would pay...lol! Parking - valet only.

That said the service felt a bit uneven. There were a few large party tables, and it seemed like the staff was more focused on them than on our party. We were seated outside at the farthest tables so I'm not sure if that played a role, but we had to ask multiple times for water refills and waited quite a while before being able to order. At one point we even had to get up and find someone after waiting about 20 minutes. The food timing was also a little off other tables that arrived after us were served first, and some of our plates came out a bit colder than expected. I do understand it was a busy graduation day with large groups, so things may have been more hectic than usual. One other concern was the outdoor seating. While the space itself is nice, the chairs didn't look properly cleaned, and some guests unfortunately didn't notice bird droppings until after sitting down, which ended up getting on clothing. I would consider going back because the food was good, but probably not during busy times or with a large group, and I'd hope the outdoor seating is better maintained next time.

I so, so wanna love this place. Great, easy local location. Still in the category of "neighborhood…read morejoint" though I know it's also a popular tourist stop (every restaurant in Malibu potentially is that). But an Italian style restaurant with perhaps the most UNINSPIRED spaghetti and meatball entree you won't find anywhere outside a can of Chef Boyardee! My gosh, I guess I forget every couple years... and get a hankering for a good, comfort pasta exactly like a spaghetti and meatball... I come here and... blah. Some spaghetti with some kind of incredibly BLAND flavorless tomato sauce/paste with less flavor than the cheapest over the counter spaghetti sauce you'll ever taste. Sprinkle a few flecks of greenery on the bowl, 2 "kinda pleasant" but really boring beef meatballs? And voila... an uninspired spaghetti that maybe could challenge a 7th grade home economics class. Maybe. And all for the premium price tag of $24. Come ahhhhhn, Spruzzo. I SO wanna put you into heavy rotation, with perhaps what should be THE #1 go-to entree of anyplace remotely Italian. But this offering!? It's an insult to any palate. Spazzatura. Generally, it's a nice waitstaff here (although, last night-- a late, slow Monday night... played out very sluggish!) and the atmosphere is generally inviting too. But I, once again, left very unhappy, even letting my server know (and the server agreed!) ... with only the warm bread being the ONLY satisfying part of my meal. PLEASE Spruzzo, change the recipe. Chef Boyardee left the building in 1965.
