Amazing dinner with an ocean view! Came for my gf's birthday dinner on a Friday evening. Valet is $10 and can be added to the final bill when you pay for your food at the end. For our entrees, we got the Surf&Turf and the Swordfish. Both were bomb dot come! The filet was a nice medium rare and the lobster was thicc! The bacon and fingerling potatoes really paired well with the Swordfish. All the staff were attentive and helpful in making our Malibu dinning experience A1. They even gave my gf a vanilla bean ice cream for her birthday. Sweet! After you eat, there's a stairway that gives you access to the beach where you can watch the waves crash under the sunset with your BAE (or alone if you ate dinner alone haha). read more

We went to try Geoffrey's Malibu for our anniversary. We loved that the restaurant recognized our anniversary and provided us with great seating overlooking the ocean. We also appreciated that this seating was more intimate than what we'd expected. The staff were friendly and super knowledgeable of the menu. They were able to offer some customization to the menu for our dietary preferences. We were impressed with the service and the attention to detail for their customers. Moving from the service to the food, we ordered Geoffrey's Eggs Benedict and Paella. It definitely is more food that one could handle but they were both amazing meals and lived up to the hype. I would order them again on our next visit. The only thing, I'd change is to try the other variants of the eggs benedict (salmon or crab). I wanted to make room for dessert so I got half of the paella to go. The Warm Marbled Brioche Bread Pudding was out of this world and if you're into bread pudding, you must try this out. The icing on the cake at Geoffries was that the valet payment comes part of your meal. Why is this the icing on the cake? I really dont like paying twice: 1) for the meal; 2) separately for the valet when they are owned and operated to partner with each other. You're essentially paying EXTRA for the view . To begin, this place could have had so much potential for where it's located. I have been coming here for multiple years and never expected this complete downfall of this restaurant. The new staff is slow, disrespectful, and overall unprofessional. The staff will not seat you, even if you have a reservation, will make you wait past the reserved time and will simply stare and gossip while watching you wait for over 25 minutes while seating people before you. The man at the front desk, the manager, is completely unwelcoming and inappropriate, it's appalling! As for the food, there is always something wrong that comes to the table, from drinks to desserts, waiters will make snarky comments if something happens at the front (like you complaining about being seated 30 minutes after the time you reserved). The only good thing to this restaurant is the valet. The valet is quick, efficient and understanding no matter what, truly professional and get the job done. Nonetheless, I am in completely shock at the downgrade of this place, it won't be lasting long if this behavior keeps up, please do better. read more

Chicken was dry, Lobster chopped salad was too salty, Paella was soupy, Salmon was dry, and poke was not the freshest. This is a nice seafood restaurant along the Pacific coast highway in malibu. The setting for the restaurant appear to be a large residential mansion, which somehow got converted into a commercial restaurant. The views of the ocean is nice, but the glass balcony railing had a metal bar going across at eye level when siting down, thus preventing the patrons from seeing the ocean view more clearly. The food was adequate, super expensive, and a bit over-rated. The bread was a bit bland, but the corn chowder was awesomely good. My sea bass was average. Although we couldn't enjoy the view that well, once the sky turned dark, the ambience of the restaurant dining area became so romantic with lights and fire lamps throughout. I felt like I was somewhere in a hawaiian resort. Overall, the atmosphere was what we were paying for, not so much the food. Also, valet parking is $10 which was added to the bill. read more

Had a very pleasant Thanksgiving dinner here. I chose this restaurant because while they did have a fixed menu for the holiday, there were quite a few options for the appetizer and main. Most restaurants only have about 3 choices, which include the traditional turkey and a veggie option. I had the filet mignon and while it was tasty, I had ordered it medium rare and it was a bit more done than I like. Same with Dad's filet. Mom had the salmon with a tasty crunch on the top side. She enjoyed it very much. Service was on point, the view/sunset incredible, and sitting on the patio for a 90 degree Los Angeles heat wave was lovely. By the time we left there was quite a line of patrons waiting for their table. This place is definitely a favorite Thanksgiving option. read more

This place is wonderful :). The server we had was lovely... even the valet guy was happy and friendly. We had reservations for a Sunday at 10am, party of 6. It was somewhat empty upon arrival. It makes sense considering they open AT 10am. I didn't realize there was a bunch of parking on the street. I was also the last person in my party so I just rushed straight to valet. I had the Eggs Benedict. I could tell the hollandaise sauce was made fresh. It had a stronger lemon taste to it than most I've had elsewhere. It was served on half a croissant that was tasty as well. I was not a fan of the potatoes to be honest. They were way overcooked and pretty hard to chew on. I also wasn't too huge a fan of the prosciutto it came with so I just took that part off. The mimosas and lattes are good too. Overall, I gave this place 5 stars because the views are stunning. If you're a tourist visiting Los Angeles, this is probably a great place to have brunch before heading to the beach :) read more

My friends and I stopped by for a weekday lunch at Geoffrey's a few weeks ago and the views are absolutely gorgeous! However, I was not as impressed with their customer service. We arrived 30 minutes ahead of our reservation and asked if we could be seated earlier (considering the restaurant was still empty). The hostess insisted that we wait at the bar for 30 minutes until our actual reservation time. I thought it was a bit ridiculous considering only 2 tables were seated out of the whole restaurant and they couldn't accommodate us. After 15 minutes of waiting awkwardly in the bar area, we asked again if we could be seated and we got denied. Finally having standing for 30 minutes waiting to be seated, the hostess finally let us sit at our table (which was empty the entire time we were waiting). We shared the ahi tuna tartar which was really flavorful. It was a nice start to the meal. I ordered their Sauteed Day Boat Sea Scallops with Foie Gras Risotto. The scallops were perfectly cooked and worked really well with the risotto. My friends ordered their Crab Cakes, Seafood Paella, and Herb Crusted Salmon. They enjoyed their dishes as well. The downside is that service is really really really slow here. It's a nice laid-back environment to relax with friends but food and drinks came out really slowly. We waited over 20 minutes for water (yes, 20!!) and a little longer than that to flag down our waiter to order food. At the end of our meal, we decided to order coffee. We had thought they had forgotten about it after while because it shouldn't take that long to pour coffee. After following up with our waiter, we finally got our coffees 30 minutes after we finished eating. We sadly didn't have time after that to enjoy our coffee so we chugged it and left. A meal here can easily take 2 hours considering how slow the service is. Yes, the food is good but they aren't very efficient considering the time the takes them to bring drinks. Also, don't even bother arriving before your reservation time. They won't seat you even if most of the tables are available. +5 stars for food - 2 stars for service +1 star for the view = 4 stars overall read more

Geoffrey's is the perfect spot for a special occasion or a fancy night out. I would classify this place as more of an experience then just a restaurant! The establishment is situated right off the coast, and you can see the ocean from any part of the restaurant. The view when you're dining is amazing and is truly something a person in Malibu should experience. We had reservations during Labor Day weekend. We ordered the scallops with mushroom risotto, which was amazing!! We also had the seafood paella, which was okay, but a bit underwhelming. The other dishes were fine too. I want to say that the food was pretty good and they offer a nice selection of fancy dishes. I would highly recommend this place for a nice evening out. You honestly can't go wrong with this view and the amazing food! My bf and I agreed to switch the responsibilities every year of who plans the anniversaries and I must say I really outdid myself. We were able to find street parking easily and were seated immediately. I started off by ordering the pear martini which gave me a nice buzz. We decided on the Spicy Fried Oysters, Steamed Maine Lobster, and the Filet Mignon. The oysters were delicious and had a nice spicy tang to it from the salsa and vinaigrette. As for my lobster and my boyfriend's filet, we were pleasantly surprised with how generous they were with the portions! With fancy restaurants, you usually get a little spec of food but it wasn't the case here. The quality and taste of our food was on par so our bellies were very satisfied. To top it off, we got the Brioche Bread Pudding. It cost extra to have ice cream on the side but it was so necessary, the dessert would have tasted dry otherwise. What a view. The seating is on a large patio type space that shades you from the sun while offering incredible views of the ocean. And unlike most spots offeting up this level of atmosphere, their prices are very reasonable. You can' t beat the value. We came for brunch and had crab cake benedicts. I highly recommend it. It's not the best bene I've had, but it is definitely top notch, and I love that it's served on a croissant rather than an english muffin. So much more buttery and deep in flavor. The crab tasted great and seemed fresh, too. It also came with a small side of fruit, so the whole meal felt very light, which is just what I want from an early meal. We wanted to be seated with the best view so we had to wait extra 40 minutes even though we had reservations. It was okay because we had time. We enjoyed a drink at the bar while we waited. The food was great. The chilean Seabass was soft, tender and well seasoned. Coconut shrimp was delicious. Crisp crust and soft, not chewy shrimp on the inside. I loved the sweet sauces it came with. The filet mignon was soft, cooked perfectly as we requested: medium; well seasoned with a side of potatoes. Lobster quiche was just yum! Crust was perfect with just the right amount of lobster not overpowered by the filling. Cheese plate was great, could have used another slice of toast. Our server was great. The people who take the plates away, felt they were rushing us. We were not done with our food and they kept trying to clean up. Had to ask several times if we can finish eating, each time, he had to ask our waiter if it was okay for us to finish our food. Strange... our waiter apologized each time. Other than that, everything was just right. I recommend valet parking, street parking is too difficult to find and risky if you park across the street and have to cross PCH.
