These guys are amazing! George is very kind and the whole team is friendly and efficient. We got there apparently right at closing needing a tire but George kept the place open to help us. Within about 15 minutes we had the tire replaced, paid for (at a great rate, too!) and were on our way. I have been going to George for 13 years. As a widow I need to depend on honesty and good service and that is what I get at George's. He has always been honest with me as to how far I could drive the car I had to let me keep it an additional two years. I take my car in and he drives me home and delivers when finished. I think this is outstanding service. He never tries to do anything on my car unless it is absolutely necessary. He lets me know when things will be needed in the future. I think a man who talks about and loves his family like he does has to have a good heart and a good heart is what makes him successful. My father recommended George to service my 2000 Seabring when I moved out to Morgan Hill. Having had a auto mechanic as a close family friend for 10 plus years, my Dad referred me to one He could trust. He stated that George was thorough and I could count on the hob done right. Honestly, after paying for oarts at 50% off and free labor for years the cost of auto repairs at market rate floored me. But given the confidence my Dad had in George the costs was an adjustment but repairs done right and as needed and the trust I had in that, well the sting not so bad. And George, like my friend and before him, my dad had the patience to answer my questions about when why and how it's done., as I love learning all I can about everything. However after wrecking my Seabring and purchasing a 18 yr old $2000 honda, I started taking it to Truman's because neighbor said they were good and inexpensive and soon I realized you get what you pay for when oil changes turned into oil leaks. Long story short. I have to drive that Honda to southern California in a few weeks. I needed assurance that the car was in good enough shape for the trip. So George was the one I called apon to go over my car and check it out for me. He did and informed me of what needed to be done, which I questioned and balked at as these services had already been done. So I declined service at first and re-checked my setvice record's then called Gearge and told him whay services were recently done.. He reminded me I adked him to evaluate the conditions and recommend services. I then wrnt back to George to either pick up my car or see what he was seeing. And after listening to me patiently he adked me to follow him out where he pointed out the problems he was seeing regardless of previously rrpqaired or replaced systems and parts. Giving me the opportunity to see for myself that a job done doesn't mean done right and was very nice snd polite and reassuring and made me feel as if I hadn't questioned him in the first place and on top of that giving me a great deal. George's Auto not Truman's or Precision Auto or Good Year Is the only place I'd recommend for servicing your car. read more

My wife drives from Hollister to Los Gatos every weekday and back. Last week she had her first major breakdown. She had to call AAA for a tow and I proceeded to call nearby garages. The first 3 garages I call where closing and didn't work on the weekends. George picked up and was still open as 6pm approached. He waited until the tow truck arrived with my wife"s car and did a quick diagnose of the vehicle. As I suspected, he felt the alternator failed. However after looking at the vehicle a bit more, he noticed the radiator was about to fail and he pointed out the weakness to me. It was obvious this radiator was on her last leg. He suggested changing the holes and the thermostat which sounded fair as he was working that area anyway. If anyone own a Nissan Maxima, you know there is no room to get to those part. George adjusted his price on labor due to we both knew he was going to have to remove the radiator anyways to get to the alternator. In the end he communicated with me and by Monday evening the vehicle was ready to be picked up. I did my own price checking on parts and estimated the hours of labor per his hourly rate. I was off by a hundred dollar. Of course Uncle Sam had to join the party which added to the cost. But in the end the vehicle was running again and I was happy this man kept his door open for my wife. At time we have to trust a mechanic and I am glad I met George. Great job and great person. read more

I'm actually surprised to see all these good reviews for this shop. My daughter took her newly purchased used car in just to get it checked out. The car was running fine but by the time they were through it was $900 and they had the car for almost a week. None of the charges were for major stuff but the cumulative cost for fluids and parts that were not included in the estimate originally increased the bill by 38% Then, the very next day the car had to be returned to the shop as it didn't have enough pickup to safely get on the freeway. We are now waiting to see what they will say but I am singularly unimpressed with the methods they used to up the cost of the tuneup. We were hoping to find an honest mechanic with whom we could establish a relationship. Unfortunately the mechanic we did business with for the last 20 years retired so we have been forced to find someone else. Guess we'll have to keep looking. My Toyota had a problem with starting when weather was hot. I use my truck for work and have to start and stop my truck all day so I need my truck fixed badly. It's my only vehicle. My first mistake when I brought my truck to him was I didn't get an estimate because I was desperate. Well when I came back to pick up the truck, the bill was $900, plus I had bought a $100 battery because he said he would not touch my truck unless I bought one even though I told him I have no problem cranking over the motor. In fact I could start it buy push-starting. Well when I picked up my truck it wouldn't start. I told him it wouldn't start, and after he tried it started so I left. The truck ran terrible! First of all, the truck ran fine before, except for the hot-weather starting problem, so now I have a problem that I didn't have before! I thought maybe it would clear up but about 4 hours later I am at a gas station and it won't start again. I called George and he told me to bring it back. I can't until the end of then week so I have to borrow a truck for work. On Friday I try to take my truck to work because I was working in Morgan Hill, and it won't start on the job site, I have to get help to push-start it. I take it to George again, upset because I have spent $1,000 and my truck is not fixed plus runs worse than before I took it to George. He started yelling at ME, like he was the one who just spent $1,000 for nothing! George said, "I am not married to your vehicle, and if you think I am going to work on your vehicle for free you are high." Excuse me, how is $1,000 free? I had to call work and tell them I was going to be late to my next job. I told George I would see him in court and had to push start my truck to leave. As I was leaving, he yelled out "Maybe it's your ignition switch," so that tells me he was just guessing about what needed to be done to my truck at my expense. Yes, George has the gift of gab, and I have known George for many years, but I was warned not to take my vehicle there because he over-priced. Because I knew him I thought it would be ok. I have even referred people to him, but never again. I should have listened to the warnings from the unhappy customer. You know maybe a $1,000 isn't a lot money for some people but I have been out of work since 2008 due to the economy and a motorcycle accident. I just landed a great job, but I had to borrow a credit card towards my paycheck to fix my truck. My father even told George he needs his truck to start for work. He lied to me and my father, and now I have to spend more money to take him to court. read more
