This place has the classic diner feel when you walk in, very classy aesthetic. There were people of all ages in this restaurant, very friendly vibe. My friends and I saw down in our chairs at our table and there wasn't much room between us and the table next to us so our chairs were a little squished. But there was a large group behind us. I will say, at our table, we only had 2 spoons to share as they forgot to give us a 3rd spoon. They immediately came over with water and we ordered coffee ASAP rocky as it was needed (cream and sugar were already at the table but they lacked brown sugar for their sugar choices but nevertheless coffee was still fabulous!) After ordering our food, the servers kept going around with coffee and asking us if we needed refills (fabulous!). Our food came within 15-20 minutes: my friends got the California Benedict and lumberjack plate and both looked absolutely delicious. I got the chicken and waffles that came with syrup AND HAD MORE SYRUP IN THE LITTLE CUP TO POUR ONTOP! I really appreciated that they gave you an extra portion of syrup (for my syrup lovers) and butter on the side. Overall, very great experience and the food was very delicious and reasonably priced. A couple drawbacks are that I feel the portions were a bit small for my taste and parking around the area, while not hard to find, but there is not much area to park in front of the restaurant. You'd have to find another area to park in (parallel parking), pay for parking, or park further away and take a nice walk to George's, which since it's near the waterfront is not a bad walk AT ALL in my book! read more

The food was good and definitely filled me up. For the price I feel like the portions could be a little better but it was a tasty breakfast meal. I also got the side of Greek fries which were delicious. It that is something you could be interested in id definitely give it a try. Maybe not for breakfast but didn't stop me from getting them. Service was quick also after we ordered it came out fast considering how busy they were. In conclusion it was a nice place to eat that has plenty of seating and plenty of televisions to keep up with Sunday football. Sad to see this Kirkland staple get worse and worse every year, used to be my staple for breakfast and ever since the old owners left it hasn't been the same, I remember the taste of the fresh tzatziki and the love in the food. The service isn't as warm and friendly as before, used to be the same people and would always be fun to see and catch up with them, they have lost their family feel. I do still occasionally come in to watch sports as they do have a great bar area and you can see the games from almost anywhere in the restaurant, as well as having a good drink selection! read more

Don't skip out on this downtown Kirkland gem that offers all-day breakfast and beyond. We were looking for a new dinner spot to check out in downtown Kirkland and having passed by George's several times, I didn't really know what to expect. Though it gave me diner vibes, with breakfast all day and red booths, I was impressed by the menu and stiff drinks found here. The menu had a lot to choose from, with egg dishes, burgers and sandwiches, or something heavier like pastas or meatloaf; it'll take some time to figure out what you're in the mood for. There are even a few Greek dishes, reflective of the owner's heritage. My friend and I decided on trying the gyritos, a fried burrito that somehow works. I was hesitant at first, but it sounded intriguing enough, as the flour tortilla is coated in beer batter and fried as so. My friend ordered the ranchero gyrito, which came with chicken and bacon and I tried the O.G./the Greek gyrito, which was comprised of gyro meat and feta with veggies. You have a choice of whatever side you can think of, so yeah, tots and waffle fries sealed the deal. I enjoyed both of the gyritos, but would say I liked the O.G. one better, as the gyro meat with the feta, lettuce and tomato and tzatziki sauce on the side added a nice, dill-y lightness to the fried tortilla it was wrapped in. Basically, it wasn't heavy, which I was afraid of it being. But it all came together well and was delicious. I would definitely come back to George's and work my way through the other items off the menu, for it has something for everyone here. Comfort food and drinks in a casual, friendly setting in downtown Kirkland is something we need more of. Solid stuff. read more

The large open windows of the restaurant makes it extremely inviting, and vast seating options was the reason we selected to have lunch there. We got baklava pancakes, vegetarian omelette with crispy hash browns, and a side of gyro meat. The food and service was overall pretty good. The baklava pancakes were delicious but the syrup was okay. The vegetarian omelette and hash browns were decent- I've had better. The omelette fell apart pretty easily once I cut into it, and at most places they give you a good amount of hash browns but here they gave a small portion, especially for a full order of the omelette. It was a beautiful February Saturday morning so we headed over to Kirkland's waterfront to get our steps in. Then it was off to George's for some breakfast. It was a little before 10am but the place was already busy as there was a Vallentine's run that was going on too. Luckily there was no wait but it was busy. Our order came out pretty quick. Really enjoyed my chorizo Benedict breakfast. If you like spicy then you must try this as it sure has a kick to it. It's a totally different way of serving up an eggs Benedict. I definitely could have used more hollandaise sauce. The hash brown was perfectly crispy! Can't wait to come back to sample other menu items. They also offer happy hour from 3-5. read more

We haven't been here in a long time and decided to try their brunch. The place has been updated since we were last in here. We were seated immediately, a few tables were occupied with lots of space between occupied tables. We got Eggs Benedict and Western Omelet. Both the dishes were okay, one of the eggs on my Eggs Benedict was cooked over, didn't have a runny yolk. The hash browns that came with the Eggs Benedict was dry and not seasoned. Seated promptly for a late morning breakfast. Ambiance was casual, quiet and pleasant. We had Lucero as our server who had such good energy! Very friendly and responsive. I ordered the lumberjack breakfast and my mate ordered the Olympia Omelette. Everything was delicious. Grabbed brunch with a girl friend here on a Sunday. The restaurant was busy, but we got seated within 10 minutes due to it being a small party. Our waiter was great, he discussed menu items with us and recommended the items he preferred most. I went with the Eggs Karkinagri- which was like a gyro and an eggs benedict had a baby -and it was delicious. The meat was tender, the sauce complemented it perfectly, and it was a great portion that left me satisfied yet not overly full. I can see why their ratings are pretty bad despite boasting on their wall that it's the "best breakfast in Kirkland 9 years..." well, the food was pretty average but wow... every server was not friendly, not polite, not respectful, nothing. No hello, no welcome in, no 'you're welcome,' when thanked profusely, nada. Furthermore, our difficult server decided it wasn't okay for an adult, with 3 kids mind you, to order an item off the kids menu even though one of the kids was ordering off the adults menu. Cmon. What difference does it make at that point? Ridiculous to have to play a game of who's ordering what just to get what we all wanted. Unapologetically, the server said repeatedly it wasn't allowed. Further elaborated that not only was the adult waffle more expensive but it wouldn't come with the bacon that the kids waffle did and it was the same size. Meaning a crappy deal. Forgot our drink order. Forgot part of our food order and never made ANY attempt at apologizing or fixing any of these mistakes. We're human, we all mess up, fix it, apologize and move on. Nope. Couldn't be bothered. Hostess was the ONLY nice person we encountered. Last time I checked, this wasn't Dick's in Las Vegas where they are supposed to be rude to customers. I won't ever return here. Excellent Greek style breakfast. The eggs Karkinagri are amazing. It's an Eggs Benedict with gyro meat, tomatoes, Hollandaise, and crumbled feta. You can upgrade your hash browns to Poutine for an extra charge. The Poutine is great, it's thick cut fries, cheese curds, and topped with gravy. If the cheese curds are slightly cold and not melted, then ask for a little extra side of gravy and put it just on the cheese curds. True Poutine has slightly melted cheese curds. I also wish the gravy had less rosemary in it. For lunch, the Greek Gyro sandwich on pita is excellent. Nice modern ambience and social distancing indoor seating available. read more

Went to George's with my boyfriend and a couple of family members for breakfast. We ended up coming here because DERU is closed for dine in, and we wanted to go to a sit-down restaurant. There was a bit of a wait when we arrived -- I think we had to wait maybe 20 or so minutes? It really wasn't a bad wait. The weather was (surprisingly) decent, so we took a little stroll around the area until we got called back to the restaurant. The service at George's was pretty good. Definitely nothing to complain about there. The place was pretty busy, and although the reviews on Yelp aren't that great, I had high hopes! Unfortunately, my hopes were too high. The food just wasn't good... It didn't taste fresh at all. I got smoked salmon Eggs Benedict, and it was completely drenched in the hollandaise sauce. We easily could've a breakfast at home that tasted 100x better. No one was very impressed, and I don't see myself ever returning. I saw another review that mentioned that location is everything, and I agree. George's is in an ideal location in Downtown Kirkland. 3 stars on my lastest trip to George's as I feel like being nice. Asked for a table for 2 and told 30minutes. Literally the couple behind me was offered 2 seats at the bar. They also must have been holding the back area because we sat down with 4 clean empty tables. The wait staff is either understaffed or not at all organized. They were running around and in a rush but you better be ready when they bother to come to your table as they won't come back anytime soon. The bus staff is the saving grace as they were on top of things, helpful and nice (only reason for a tip). The Eggs Benedict was slightly over cooked, the hollandaise was more like a cream sauce (where was the lemon) and the hash browns were bland. The steak salad was delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly. The non-steak part of the salad was lacking for the price. Came here with a hankerin' for breakfast and they delivered. I'm rarely part of the Clean Plate Club but I ate my entire order of steak and eggs. Everything was cooked perfectly. The staff were great, attentive, and friendly. It's definitely the homey diner I was looking for. It was a Saturday morning so it was kinda busy. I just happened to be able to get a stool at the bar, but some folks were told the wait for a table could be up to an hour, so plan ahead. I'll be back next time I'm in the 'burbs. read more
