One of the hidden gem of Carmel. Was looking for a different place to try for breakfast and George place was one of the top search place. Let me say first off food was great! Was already expecting it as there was tons of cars outside. Secondly service was impeccable staffs are apologizing for late service. Also ambiance is amazing a but small place but the place feels very homey. Breakfast burrito is to die for!! Tastiest and with tons of ingredients and vegetables. Ate half and was very full already. Their servings are not to much and not to small. Muffins are also very good, plus its not that sweet!

My husband and I stopped here on a Saturday morning, pretty early I would say so there was many tables available. We ordered two eggs, bacon, pancakes, a fruit cup, and Irish eggs Benedict. We ate everything! The portions were great, everything was so delicious, fruit cup was so fresh. The service was amazing, our server was so sweet and helpful. I'm sure parking on the street can be a pain if you come during a busy hour. I recommend this breakfast spot! Maybe I'll come back for lunch !

Came here for breakfast the other day. As usual everything was tasty and fresh. I had the eggs Benedict with crispy home fries and an orange juice. If you go on a Sunday get there before 930am if you want to beat the church crowd. The waitresses are very nice and pleasant. Just wish the specials were more visible then in the corner and you forget about them until after you order because the waitresses don't mention the specials.

A friend of our recommended George's Place so we took a ride to Carmel. We were lucky enough to get parking right in front. Street parking can be challenging. When we entered, we were told to choose a seat. We did so and a short time later, the waitress brought over the menu and took our drink orders. It was cold outside so both of us asked for coffee. And boy was the coffee was good! Looking at the extensive menu, there were a few extremely popular choices which were unbelievably reasonable. For example, I had the #2 which was three eggs, with home fries, toast AND unlimited coffee for $5.50. The hubby had the #3 which added meat (sausage links) for $7.45! When I saw the bill, I thought they had forgotten the coffees, but was told the coffee was included - unbelievable. Cost aside, the eggs, potatoes and toast were fine. Did I mention the coffee was good? And the service, that's another winner. Our waitress was so fast! As she ran to and fro, she made sure we were ok and wanted for nothing. I can clearly see this is a very popular place and for good reason. This place truly deserves a 4+, but misses the 5 because of the decor. A little outdated and clearly not a first date place. But we were happy and would gladly recommend this place for a nice breakfast that won't break the bank.

The place has a pretty view on the lake and trees. The food was fresh well served I got the egg Benedict it was amazing. I also get the sausage on the side which was very well. We also get the super breakfast which is also perfect. Coffe was great refillable. The waitress was nice with a beautiful smile and she take a good care of us her name is ELIZA I will give the place five in rating specially because of the view and freshness

Food was good. Location is perfect. However, they're not equipped for large crowds. Don't go on a weekend or holiday.

Trust, the quality is all here. This was the best thing for us especially since we were in the area catching up with a few errands. Southeast G's chic, dark grey+black outside design is softened by flowers, the bar area has light wood flooring, large counter off to one side, tables and booths. The space honestly gives out an inviting atmosphere without feeling stuffy. There's also a dining area which faces the reservoir making it perfect for casual events/gatherings. The Tito's Raspberry Tom Collins called me. That sucker started refreshing and its strength soon crept up! My $16 salad with pan seared salmon was fantastic. The dressing was done simply in lemon+oil. Hubs' sliced hanger steak over potatoes, sautéed veggies and drizzled with an demi glace was his winning ticket- and at $20, he enjoyed it to the fullest. Unlike eateries with jacked up prices, this is a terrific all-in-one for us: fantastic prices+strong drink+tasty food. We really couldn't ask for more. These folks take their menu seriously. And by the way- our server Heather, was spot on and pleasant.

Sounds like I really hit the sweet-spot with my order!…read more Carmel Diner seemed unassuming from the road. Small parking lot (about 10 spots). Not much lighting. No sign. But it drew me in with its old-timey awning-roof. This diner has everything and then some. Be careful, Carmel Diner, that you don't over-extend and offer so much that at some point you do not know what your specialty is - or which are the quality entrees.. I was seated fast. My menu was in my hands before I sat. The menu has some really NEAT local American Revolution (1776) quotes and pictures on the front that bring the town to life, as a customer. As do all the nostalgic old black & white images, photos, sketches, linotypes and ink drawings. Those small gestures of an establishment (that are not always noticed by the very hungry masses and screaming families) bring the past alive and thereby also locate and focus down on, where the customer eats and lives. Carmel Diner's interior therefore, is perfect. There are some gadgets and a full-fledged fish tank at the front of the dining room. More architectural photos with old Fords driving up the road 100 years ago, allow you to be one with Carmel and reminisce and enjoy a wonderful lunch. The menu has 8 ways to do omelets. It had about 10 large salads. Sandwiches and burgers run you about $10-12.99 a piece. The priciest item was a 28.99 order of steak with mushrooms. The serve wraps, burgers (Texas Burger, Buffalo Burger) and lots of soles fish, salmon etc. There were about 6 cheesecakes for dessert. The menu is expansive. I ordered a mainstay, keep it 'kitchen-real', you know how I roll with what the chef's like to plate in the back- and MAN-O-MAN was it ever so good! Meatloaf special was my order. And a coffee. And let me tell you: the meatloaf here is VERY, VERY good. It is not stale nor puck-like, as some purveyors in boston would peddle you. The meat mixture was not brittle, not fudged and swampy either. NO! It was in the middle. Flavorful. Soft to the fork. It had a little bit of browning on the edges and was stacked 3-rows high on a roll, plus pickle, a mound of fries and slaw (without carrots and celery for once, yay!). Carmel Diner's meatloaf is my: new favorite spot. Denise is a great waitress! Review: 5, I'll be back y'all

We received our order super fast, and thought it tasted very good. So I'm surprised at the less-than-stellar reviews given for this diner, but then again, this place hasn't been reviewed very much, and certainly not very recently. So I thought my husband would enjoy it as well. I ordered my favorite, Benedict with a side order of fruit instead of the usual home fries. My husband on the other hand ordered eggs over easy with corn beef hash and hone fries. Both dishes were delicious. However, we did also order coffee, and both of us did not have refills. When the bill came, we were astounded to see that we were charged $3.50 per cup of coffee. Now, I don't know about you but I think that's an excessive amount for a regular diner cup of coffee. If I wanted a gourmet cup of coffee I wouldn't have minded paying that much. So, as a result of being charged an exorbitant amount for one measly little cup of coffee, which I didn't drink because it tasted burnt, is a bit ridiculous. Most Diners include coffee with your breakfast or for a lesser amount and refills are free. And for that reason, I give them a bad review.
